Just avoid the cheap dollar stuff if you live somewhere that gets below freezing for long periods of time. That stuff can still freeze and crack your washer reservoir.

It's about 5-7 dollars depending where you buy it. They have it at Walmart and most auto stores. Don't buy it online because amazon charges an arm and a leg for it.
Also congrats on the car! Beautiful choice.

I can wash my G-class in about 30-45 minutes (basic wash + spot free rinse):
Step 1: rinse off loose dirt with a hose and sprayer
Step 2: soak microfiber towel and apply soap (I don't do the "two bucket" method. I constantly use new/clean towels to ensure little or no dirt is transferred). Make sure soap is somewhat liquid but not too sudsy...suds reduce the lubrication of soap.
Step 3: wash panel by panel, checking to see how much dirt is on the towel and changing sides frequently
Step 4: rinse off every few panels to ensure soap doesn't dry
Step 5: after every panel is washed and rinsed, make a solution of No Rinse and water and wipe down all panels as directed to get a spot free dry.
Now, that of course doesn't include something like pressure washing the chassis, claying, waxing, etc. But a simple hand wash does a much better job at removing dirt while protecting the clear coat.

Sadly not. It'd come through as a phone call, perhaps, but I don't believe the quality on that is particularly good either. Even the factory bluetooth module you can add in to the W211 doesn't support music.
A good alternative could be getting a cassette MP3 adapter, taking your radio out, and drilling a hole in the back for the cord. Then throw a couple headphone extenders on there and run it down the transmission tunnel into the center console. Or just let the cable hang out the front, if it doesn't bother you.
Or, you can get one of these little jobbys and have bluetooth connectivity. Audio quality wise they're... passable. Not brilliant but not terrible either.

I highly recommend Ozium Sanitizer spray. I've used this on both my previous Jaguar and now my C300.
Just crank the A/C up to full blast and spray this stuff liberally into the HVAC air intakes under the hood just in front of the wipers. The ozone effect will kill the mildew and bacteria that cause the odor.

they have proven to be good headlights. It’s only been a day so I couldn’t tell u anything long term lol. The alignment screws on the headlights didn’t really align the lights well when adjusted. The installation was frustrating, but i guess it’s mercedes’ fault for making it so difficult. If u do purchase any headlights, watch a video it was a really annoying process to install them, so be prepared
First off, nice car! The W204 was the car of my dreams when I was a teenager and it ended up being the first car I ever drove in my life after I got my license, so it holds a special place for me.
To answer your question, the side marker bulb is the bulb under those orange reflectors on your fenders. The parking light/standing light is referring to the two bulbs that make up the "eyelid" parking lights for that generation.
I believe the BV in the parking light bulb types stands for "Blue Vision"; if you poke around some YouTube videos or forum posts where people change those bulbs, you can see the factory bulbs seated in those sockets appear to have a blue coating to give them a whiter appearance. Here is an example I found on Amazon. The non-BV standard W 5W can come in white or amber (orange). Hope that helps!
I used one that is like a ball kind of magnet and stuck it up beside the left vent in the center not far from the push start. I’ll see if I can find a link and edit shortly.
Here you go mount
Looks great with the clear corners! If you ever want to get rid of the orange tone of the bulb inside you can buy chromed amber bulbs if you don't mind sacrificing a bit of brightness, I bought some for my own 90s benz
That's where your tow ring would go if you needed a tow. There should also be a similar hole on the front. In my old C class the tow ring was in a compartment in my trunk. It will look like what's in the attached link. You just screw that into the hole and then the eyelet can be used to hook a cable or rope for towing.

Super cool to find someone else who actually uses the thing hard. I tow race cars too.
You won’t get touch screen but it keeps the original interface of the car. It can be cool if you like the original look. Mine looks factory, as soon as I get in the car my phone automatically connects.

yeah a huge repair is my main concern. something like a transmission failure could be disastrous. here’s a link to the full listing, you can see the full carfax there. it seems that it was at least relatively well maintained, but i’ve heard the transmission fluid needs to be changed fairly often, and here it’s seems to only have been done a few times. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/4966030283407050/

Sure, the amazon listing specifies the W204 but based on the documentation that came in the box, it works with any mercedes that has an NTG 4.5/4.7

and if that makes you nervous here's what looks like a listing for the same product but actually mentions the E-class
https://www.amazon.com/Road-Top-Wireless-Mercedes-MirrorLink/dp/B084LZL126
There's a bunch of different brands and places that sell em, but you basically just get a little module that plugs in between the head unit and the screen and interrupts it to pipe in carplay instead. You can do it for basically any merc with an NTG 4.5/4.7 system, but be warned it's not easy on the W204 since there's not a lot of free space inside the dash for the box and extra cabling. I got mine on amazon.

Ah yes the 204. I’ve done a lot of these. They sell a repair kit for it that will work but it doesn’t always work depending of where it broke. They sell brand new door handles on amazon, but this is difficult as it requires melting plastic to take the door panel apart to replace them.

I’ve got peeling steering wheel buttons on a 2016 Mercedes GLK.

From brief research it looks like it’s actually a fairly common problem. I’ve looked online for replacement stickers and I came across [this video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7FxREcZMuY) of a guy putting replacement covers on the buttons. I think he just got them on amazon. [This link](https://www.amazon.com/Steering-Stickers-Decoration-Compatible-Accessories/dp/B08PP9JXZL) is to the product.
My questions are:
-has this been addressed in a post before/is there somewhere I can see people’s solutions?
-has anyone tried this product? It’s from Just from Amazon and I don’t know if it’s quality. If it is not, I would MUCH rather endure my peeling buttons than take the time to scrape the finish off, install the covers, only to have them fall off in a couple months and be left with bare/blank buttons.
-has anyone had good luck/results with a different product?
-does anyone have any better ideas or solutions to the problem? ... Ideally short of replacing the part with a factory replacement.
Thanks!
So glad to know that I'm not the only one.. still no app update, but I did some across an official recognition from Mercedes as a reply to an 1-star app review on the Play Store: "Hello, We are SO sorry about that. We’re aware of this issue and working out a solution now. We’re planning a future app release to correct this. Thank you, Mercedes me team"
If you look at the reviews, especially the most recent ones, you can see that they've replied ~5 times to bad reviews with some permutation of this statement.

Hi,
This what I did, and my advice: it'll open with a thin flat head screw driver. You'll end up distorting the opening, so purchase this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HR02612/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is assuming you have looked for the key in the glove box/manaul, or where the tire jack is.
If you go for the new lock route, it takes 30 seconds to change, and make sure you spray some protective lubricant over the new lock as it may not be the best for an outdoor environment. But for under $10, mine has been going strong for three years.
hey op :) like what other people have said, the only phone compatible would be those old flip phones of some sort back in the day. unfortunately phones of the present aren’t compatible, at least not to my knowledge
if you wanna listen to your own music without having to buy an aftermarket head unit, get an aux cable like what that one user said. i own an ‘06 e350 and i’m currently using this aux. plug one end into the aux port in your glove box (assuming it’s in there) and plug the other end into the usb port you have there
the sounds are crispy clear and i like it a lot. the only problem i have with it is that sometimes the bluetooth doesn’t connect right away when i get in the car so i’d have to unplug and plug the usb end in again, but that’s like 15% of the times i get in
Crap, so I'd be getting only a jack connector?

If you have any links talking about a tried and true carplay box I'd be very grateful
I just upgraded my 2014 E350’s head-unit. I’ve not had any major issues with it. (Sometimes if I leave the car running and the Bluetooth disconnects, I have to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on for the wireless car play)
Works with steering buttons, climate control changes show on screen, knob works as well, and keeps access to the original factory system

I had a 2018 C300 bought off the lot and I wasn't aware of ambient lighting being an option then. But I've had CLAs as loaners before and hated driving them, the C class just feels better IMO so by that alone, and just the cheaper feel of it, I would get the C class all day.
As far as the projector lights, you could easily grab some light replacements off of Amazon and swap out the lights in the doors. They're toolless installation and I've helped a couple people throw them in pretty effortlessly.
This is what I’ve been using. You just stuck it into the 12v, connect to your phone, and tune the cars FM to the same channel that is shown on the transmitter. The emptier the frequency you choose the better the audio quality.

If you're looking for an older Mercedes Benz still like this, be sure to know the weak parts on these cars.
On the W123 and W126 (and W116) diesel models, the motors are generally very robust. But what Mercedes could not overengineer (like the rest of the car) were the rubber bits. One thing to look for on these are the rear axles. The axles themselves will last a long time, but the rubber boots on them that hold the grease are known to decay and crack and will let out the grease, making the axles useless.
A good check to do on the motor is a compression test. On an OM617 and 616, it should be above 300psi, higher is better, lower is a no go (299 would still be acceptable I guess). If you cannot perform a compression test, you can do a blow-by test. If you youtube it, you will be able to see what it is and how to do it. Its rather simple:
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mercedes+W123+Basic+Diesel+Blow-by+Test+Technique/22833
Here is a very well done pre-purchase guide on buying older Benz's:

But I believe I’d rather have a newer one and I’d settle for a C class if I could get one 2009+
Also I don’t have any cash ATM I just have a new job I’m starting in a week or so and I want a solid goal to work towards IE a specific model of car.
i, too, made the mistake of not ordering the wireless charging. luckily I found this which includes a usb-c charger port too (the merc one doesn't!)
It's worked really well for me. If you have a Left Hand Drive model there's an alternative mount option if you don't want a magnetic mount.
This tucks into the gap between the dial housing and the screen, and has a standard ball mount you can attach any generic phone holder to - clamp style, wireless charging etc
This is the one I use. I put it on the slat directly above the knob, and attach my phone right below the volume buttons. The knob presses up against the back of the phone. The angle isn't perfect, but it works for me. I REALLY just wish CarPlay worked with my 2015!
I use this in my C class and it holds my heavy foldable phone very well.

I found a post on MBWorld that helped me. I use a CD Slot magnetic phone holder, but I've jammed it into the trim between the display and the dial housing.
Super solid and works a treat. Cable can be tucked into the trim of the centre console.
Might not fit if you have a large phone, I use a Samsung S10.

Depending on the year of your W205 you might not be able to activate carplay as the headunit won't have this option before year 2017/2018 (iirc).
If your car is from before that year the only ways to install it is either a module like https://www.amazon.com/Road-Top-Wireless-Mercedes-2015-2018/dp/B084LZBNJW/ or a complete screen replacement like https://www.amazon.com/Mercedes-2014-2019-Anti-glare-Navigation-Multimedia/dp/B07P8C7S7V/ which comes with the carplay function and a lot more considering it's running Android (full Google Play Store right on the screen itself).

This is unfortunately a common issue with Mercedes-Benz. The mechanism that's supposed to hold the seat belt in an emergency so you don't go flying has becomed jammed due to the movement of the seat. Ultimately what you want to do is to relieve the tension on the belt so it will release again.
I can recommend two things: (1) try to pry up and forward the plastic cover that hides here it goes into the seat at the top and use the extra room to try and feed a bit of belt back into the mechanism to get it to release. (2) same concept, but try folding the seat down (if the E Class has that feature). There's also the nuclear option: (3) remove the lower seat cushion and unbolt the belt anchor or the seat back.
Whatever happens, it will happen again. There is a nub on the belt that normally prevents the belt from retracting too far into the mechanism, but it is too low on the belt. You should look into adding a new belt stopper a little further up the belt from the one that came from the factory. This is the one I used:

Super easy to install both. The hood emblem you can just pop out from the inside of the hood.
The trunk emblem takes a bit more finesse. You can sneak dental floss behind it to “saw” away the adhesive and then just pop the new one into the holes.
I got one installed, grabbed it on amazon. The company was Road Top and the customer service was fairly decent when we rain into an issue during installation.

I have two 164ml and I have these installed in them. If you have factory Bluetooth phone, it will still work while using music through bovee bovee adaptor
I got it on Amazon. The other vent modifications were a little too much for my liking. Here is the link.
AIRSPEED ABS Car Front Bumper Lip... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088WQN7G2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
does that mean I don't need to bother with disconnecting the battery? (unless I'm leaving the vehicle unattended for several months)
in any case, I'm charging up my portable jumpstarter and leaving it in the car before I go to the airport. I rarely take it because that thing weighs around 25 pounds. Only bought the biggest one last year because Amazon had it on sale(or price mistake) for $89, down from regular price of around $160. This one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JRDV81K/ref=twister_B07XK12WQV?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
I order some usb-c to Lightining and works good , take to MB dealer ASAP

Took advantage of the quarantine and ceramic coated the whole car on my own this weekend. Used this from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082VT2SZQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yet to see how long it’ll hold up, but I’m every satisfied with the results right now. And before people freak out, no that is not a V8 Biturbo badge on the front fenders 😂
Here you go! Amazon Link
buy one of these and change it yourself. Stick it down the dipstick tube and let it go for ~15 minutes, and go to Walmart and buy the 0W-40 European spec, for me its about $22 for 5 quarts. Buy a filter from amazon, unscrew the cap and swap it out, and bam, your oil is changed without ever getting under the car, and for ~$50 plus the fluid extractor, which pays for itself after one use.
My dealer included a USB C to USB A female adapter in the car - you could get one of those and use one you already have.
This looks a better solution than the clunky cable they gave me.
I had one of these in some of my older cars. It was pretty easy to slide in there. I swapped out the switch for a rocker switch that fit in my w123’s blank switch covers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002U5XPBE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ow08CbN0CA8XJ
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Faux-Sheepskin-Seat-Cover/dp/B00HQ5HKAK
Also, try plush or sheepskin car covers. You might get more hits then.
Just got a 2008 C350 myself. Check the glove box for an iPod connector - the 30-pin aux cable was an option. If you have one, you can plug in one of these.
Got everything from Amazon
Here’s the tails: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AA3O6HA?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Here’s the Headlights: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07919GJC3?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
And thanks by the way haha I love them at night!
I buy batteries from Advance Auto Parts. Their AGM batteries fit my S420 and E350, and you can get $50 off with an online code and store pickup. As long as the the battery category matches what the car originally has, and has the same or more amps and cold crank amps it will work.
I'd recommend one of these to keep the car settings preserved while you are replacing the battery, but you would need to have any other car battery available to keep it near the port and plugged in while you are swapping the main old one for the new one. I have seen ones that plug into electrical outlet and convert it down to 12 volts, but I can't find one for some reason right now.
It doesn't hurt to call the dealers and ask about the battery price, and how much would it cost for them to replace it. Sometimes they have specials on services.
Yea you can skip songs, play/pause, and control volume from steering wheel and dash buttons.
If you already have the media cable then this (or something like it) is what you need
Bovee 1000 Wireless Bluetooth Music Interface Adapter for in Car iPod Integration https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B52LLJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Rer0Bb6WP6BTA
If you don’t have the media cable, something like this will probably be better since the cable is like $150 from the dealership (if I remember correctly)
Bovee Bluetooth Car Kit for AUDI, VW, MB - Music Interface Adaptor for in car iPod Integration (WMA3000A AMI/MDI/MMI connector) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R2HZ1XU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uir0BbQ4F6KBT
Before you buy anything make sure you have the media port. Mine was located in the glove compartment on the left side.
This looks like what you're looking for. I bought a much cheaper different receiver, and it has been buggy. I originally wanted to buy this one, but didn't cough up the cash.
Plays fine with Android, just doesn't show track info on the head unit display or the instrument cluster LCD.
The generic OBD II readers will only read emission related codes (because it's mandated by federal law as far as the US goes).
I use this one and it works great:
iCarSoft Mercedes/Smart MB II w/ Microfiber Cloth https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBAI7KZ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_FgmPAbYC161BX
Yes. It's fairly cheap too. It's on the front of the cylinder head. There's one for each camshaft. Bank 1 is the passenger side and exhaust is the outer one. camshaft adjuster magnet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0072JB3WQ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_P7ztAbYR84FWY
One more thing. I have an older version of this modulator. https://www.amazon.com/iSimple-IS31-Antenna-Modulator-Aftermarket/dp/B002U5XPBE/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1500437530&sr=1-2&keywords=isimple+fm
You can see that the back of it has a gain adjuster. And the toggle switch is 87.9 and 88.3 fm. It works really well. I use the older ipod 30 pin connector instead of the aux because the previous owner had installed this for me. I then use a 30 pin to aux then an aux switcher to switch between the aux and bluetooth. I can give you a guide to do that later if you like
Moker Music Interface Adapter MMI Bluetooth Wireless Android iOS iPhone Smartphone Pad for Mercedes-Benz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NA8LZM2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NTsDzbAJR6P4K
I use this one, have to use the device to control the music not an issue for me.
The best thing to do is also tune away from radio stations. Like in the USA FM cannot broadcast below 88.1 MHz so I broadcast at 87.9 FM. And its dead silent if i have nothing playing through my phone. Look at this random one i found on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-FM-MOD02-Universal-Modulator-Satellite/dp/B001QBG614 You will see that you can toggle between 87.9 and 88.3. Also with an FM modulator you can tune the strength of it. Make sure the car antennas goes through the modulator. I am sure you followed the instructions but just double check. The whole point of a modulator is to cut away the antenna and provide a direct connection
It really is the most logical and elegant place if one uses one's phone for google maps and/ or waze.
For the last years, I have been using a variety of magnetic mounts and they are good in all cars I have used except the W205.
I have a thin, flat magnetic sticker plate on the back of my black iphone. Almost invisible. The magnetic attraction grip with the mount in the car is excellent and is quick and easy to put on and off.
It is almost unbelievable that Mercedes themselves have not integrated a series of hidden magnetic mounts in the cabin.
The person who markets an elegant solution for my problem is going to make a mint.
Ahh fellow wazer! I gotta say though, I would totally settle for Apple maps or Google maps with the car integration instead.
In my 98 I use a vent mount with a magnetic end. Amazon Link . Basically my vents are stiff and are able to hold my phone up magnetically. Magnets on the vent, metal plate between my iPhone and case. Not sure, though, if the newer circular vents can do the same.
w204 or w205? I have one of these in my w204 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GHV33KY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Gets the phone out of the way of the screen and the little ears fold in when not in use so its not obtrusive.
Not my car, but someone posted pics of it on a w204 https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1KK6XMI8DD30R/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01GHV33KY
This seems really steep. Is your mechanic using OEM parts? If you are ok with not paying a premium for the 3 point star, you should be able to get by doing this yourself. Amazon seems to have your fuel pump for less than half what your mechanic is charging, and 4 hours of labor to replace just the fuel pump (if that's all they're doing) strikes me as absurd. Follow the guide /u/rick_barrs posted and you should be able to save yourself $1000+.
I did this procedure on my W211 (before the fuel tank warranty extension) and the hardest part was figuring out how to disconnect the hoses from the old fuel pump. IIRC it was a pinch connector, so I had to use a pair of pliers to squeeze it then remove. Your W203 may be different, however, so take all of this with a grain of salt.
Buy a bluetooth kit that convert the audio to aux and put those things and cord in the glove box since it does have a 12v cigarette port in it.
I brought this one
Use the default Bluetooth to make the phone call and the new BT device for playing music.
The disadvantage is that you can't switch songs. And you probably had to connect the new one manually each time you want to play music though bluetooth.
I haven't applied any sealants. I wax my cars regularly.
Washing the car I use a wand like this
I believe the main difference in the 70,000 mile service from the others is the addition of spark plug replacement. Years ago on my former E-class I was able to do this service on my own. It required a special tool found here: spark plug 17mm tool.
The tool makes it much easier to pop the plugs out of the block. I purchased the replacement plugs on Amazon at the time. This service, like most, also includes replacement of various filters (air, fuel, oil change, etc.). If you DIY, you can perform the whole thing for a $200-$400 depending on the parts that you go with.
I have a 2001 C240 and I use a bluetooth cassette player. I like having my car look OEM, so if you're going that route I would choose this. I bought mine here.
2011 C300 doesn't actually support bluetooth streaming, you need an adapter this one here is one of the only ones that is guaranteed to work
Use a wiring harness, that way you don't need to splice.
http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-1784-Wiring-Harness-Volkswagen/dp/B0002BEQKM
That one works, even though it's for VW. A swap of the red/yellow wire (switched and constant) is all that is needed for that harness.
A Mityvac 7201. The less expensive 7400 works too, but it has a smaller capacity and you'll need too empty it out partway through the extraction.
