I'm simply using MagicActions for Youtube to switch it to night mode :3
I don't know why, I just prefer dark pages over bright white ones. Doesn't hurt your eyes that much.
Hype!!11! This is gonna be great! :) Is Kurt going to be in any of the events? óvò
Edit: Maybe someone could set up a calendar countdown thing like we had on the last one so there are no timezone confusions? I'd love to set it myself but I don't remember the website's name!
Edit2: Aha! I found the website! This should work.

There's even MORE stats in my stat document, which is an absurd 43 pages long and packed with stuff like the history of UHC, player bios, season summaries, and pretty pictures. Download it here
As I'm sure there's stuff I messed up, let me know!
I have little to no interest in playing Minecraft anymore. I'm up for the occasional collab or UHC because those are fun, but Minecraft is extremely boring for me otherwise. I'm not going to force myself to play and record a game I find boring, I'd rather put out content that I actually care about.
EDIT: ...and as I slowly remember that some of you will be saying "put out content? you don't put out videos!", I ought to provide some explanation. I consider showing up and providing commentary/jokes as contributing to content, even if I don't release my point of view. I'm supporting the collabs/group by showing up and performing even if I'm not getting some direct benefit from doing so. I'm also in a transitional period right now in which I am personally pulling away somewhat from making "gaming commentary" content and instead focusing more on art and animation (see my Patreon for more info). I still record my perspectives and I'm working on partnering with an editor who will release them on my behalf while I work on other things.
Sev then proceeds to imitate Guude's laugh. This whole video is great.
Tl;dr: Guude rants about the current season of The Amazing Race then Sev imitates laughs
EDIT: The video in the vod for anyone wanting to see chat's reactions

That's amazing. I hope he'll keep it running after he wakes up, because this kind of algorithm can be amazing, but it needs lots of time.
EDIT: here's another example of such algorithm that might help you understand it better. http://boxcar2d.com/
Welcome! Thanks for clicking on that Reddit link that you saw. I just finished up a few new Mindcrack Minecraft skin mash-ups, and in particular, one of my favorite UHC Season 15 team so far: PakkerBajZ! I've taken the past Piccosteau skins and decided to give Baj and Pakratt skins to fit that Dragon Ball Z theme: Baj as Krillin and Pakratt as Vegeta.
So what inspired this?
Well, I made Zisteau's UHC 12 and UHC 13 skins, and when I saw the PakkerBaj Z name for this season, I thought two things:
>1.) Damn, I made Zisteau's skin two seasons too early
>2.) Baj and Pakratt need fitting skins!
Why you make Baj Krillin? Why not Nappa?
Because that seemed too easy. Melding Baj and Krillin seemed like more of a challenge and he fits better alongside Piccosteau.
Unless Baj somehow dies early and his ghost decides to haunt Pakratt for the remainder of the game.
Why you make Pakratt as Vegeta?
Because it started out as planning Pakratt to be Gohan and I liked the scouter too much to erase it. It just looks too nice on Pak's skin.
Can we has a copy?
Yes, you can find the images here.
[PakkerBajZ logo by /u/pajam]
Relevant Tool: http://www.andreaplanet.com/andreamosaic/
This will compile a set of images to match another image in a large mosaic.
Now the only task is the arduous one of downloading the thumbnails.
(Note that if everyone who upvoted this comment's parent comment took part in the task it's time taken would be significantly reduced.)
Additional stats that go better as a comment than as an image:
Combined Deaths by Cause
Place | Cause | Deaths |
---|---|---|
Joint First | Mourning Wood and Pumpking | 12 |
Third | Zisteau | 9 |
Fourth | Etho | 7 |
Joint Fifth | Poltergeist and Fall | 6 |
Seventh | The Twins | 5 |
Joint Eighth | Pirate and Splinterling and Hellhound and Swamp Thing | 4 |
Joint Thirteenth | Wall Creeper and The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime and Paladin | 3 |
Joint Seventeenth | Zombie and Skeletron and Lava and Stinger | 2 |
Joint Twenty First | Slime and Boulder and Leech and Vampire and Giant Tortoise and Blue Armour Bones and Headless Horseman and Flying Fish and Eater of Souls and Drowning and Fire and Hellbat and The Hungry and Black Recluse and Suffocation | 1 |
In those, Zisteau died most often to Etho (7), Mourning Wood (7), Fall (6), Pumpking (5) and The Twins (4), with a total of 65 deaths for the whole series.
Etho died most often to Zisteau (9), Pumpking (7), Mourning Wood (5), Splinterling (3), then to five other mobs (2 each), with a total of 47 deaths for the whole series.
The file I used while gathering information is here, but rather messy.
Quite simple: He has a donate link! Donate Link ~~(if only I knew how to make those links appear nicer)~~ Edit: Someone told me.
Was it Baj whose favorite Doctor was the scarf'd one, or am I thinking of someone totally different? And even so, would his personal favorite Doctor have any bearing on the gifts he gives? He's my guess regardless.
Also a friendly reminder: Adlington has been revamping his Patreon goals recently. :)
For those wondering I believe this is the website Baj was talking about
Steam calculator and this is Coe's page
Awesome job! So glad you are keeping up with it and other people are joining in. :) And those pants... lol. I know when I do the run things, I usually jog around the room (or use a treadmill when I can). I hate running in place. It feel so unnatural. I ended up running up and down the furniture, circle left, right, just anything that is within sensor range. And a secret: if you can go fast enough, you can chase the cats and go on different paths (at least in the Wii version anyway).
I also have a recommendation for anyone who wants something fun to motivate them to get moving (walking, running whatever). I enjoy an app called Zombies, Run! that is basically a radio play where you are part of the zombie apocalypse. It has little bits of the play mixed in with your own music. It's well acted, a neat story, and you "collect" things on your runs (you play a "runner" that goes out on various missions) to build up a base the way you want. It also has zombie chases where randomly zombies will start chasing you and you have to speed up to get away (yay interval training!), but they are optional. The chases works for GPS tracking or motion if you are using a treadmill. They have three seasons out already, so there's lots of material to listen to. The newest version of the app is a bit slow and annoying if you aren't always connected to the internet, but the play is still awesome.
It´s actually a fairly new game. It´s in Alpha, so still lots of room for improvements! I was (still am) interested in automating processes in the old FTB, so this game seems like a lot of fun to me. I recently bought the game, but haven't gotten the chance to play it, but I look forward to playing it. If you want to buy the game or find more info, here is their site.
"Glitchless" is a pretty arbitrary word when it comes to the world of speedrunning. The "11 exit" category beats a bunch of levels, to take an intended overworld path to get to Bowser's castle and beats Bowser, though it uses various lesser glitches along the way. "2 exit" uses a glitch similar to the credits warp to change Mario's overworld subscreen and position, and skip straight to Bowser's castle.
From his page:
>You can finally look at the blue-eyed devil who has tormented you with difficult maps! In all seriousness, at this level I can buy professional cameras and other equipment to do quality streams and facecam content the way I'd want to. If I do facecam, I'm doing it right. I also have a surprise content idea at this level that involves first-person real-life videos. Very cool stuff. :)
Again playing along with JSano. I got 21750 today, not quite as good as yesterday, but not too bad.
[First one: If Jsano had continued slightly longer he would have found signs showing road numbers. I was able to make pretty good guess based on those.](/spoiler)
[2nd I live in Finland so this was easy one for me and I was able to get only 11 meters away.](/spoiler)
[3rd Couldn't find any useful signs, but it looked obviously like Pacific Northwest, so I guessed on Oregon and Washington border.](/spoiler)
[4th Couldn't find my way out of the neighborhood either..., random guess to somewhere in the middle of USA. ](/spoiler)
[5th Wow! Second Finnish one, must be my lucky day.](/spoiler)
It wasn't that long because one of the links has been deleted...
It was supposed to look like this but it skipped a large section
I wish Zed would start a Patreon page with more consistent ZPM as a milestone, like Dave Kellett does with his Drive comic (https://www.patreon.com/drive). I'm looking forward to supporting a number of people on Patreon in the new year, and I'd love for the pig-man to be one of them.
21941 points.
Found at least the correct state in Brazil because of the road number, so not too far off here.
No clues other than some forest and stuff, guessed Arkansas.
Found a sign to Palma and some things in Spanish, so I guessed Mallorca.
Found a sign with the road number and place names and then found Villahermosa on the map.
Found a sign with a the Florida 729 and guessed where I saw other 700er roads there.
Like vanilla Minecraft? Like Baj? Then maybe check out his Patreon where you can join the "SMP Done Sensible" server. The reward tier to join is a bit steep at the moment, but that's partially because we're so dang active, especially with Europeans! (no thanks to me, lol. anyway.) Reason I'm saying this now is because we're pulling a Mindcrack and making a new spawn, which even got this mostly inactive guy excited. If you want a friendly, welcoming, active place to goof around and make dickbutt jokes, now's a good a time as any to check it out.
A sidenote, I'm not sure if Baj is still doing this, but he used to wait until your first monthly payment was processed before whitelisting, which is usually around the 1st of each month. Exceptions could be made, but be cool in case they're not. We should still be around in a couple weeks.
They don't always, in fact they open their eyes while in the womb http://www.ask.com/family/babies-open-eyes-womb-287ad7077e6aaa4
EDIT: actual source is that I'm currently sitting in a labor/delivery conference room (med student), but thought i'd give you a link
Nebris needs some kinda of sneakiness game like This except he is going for the dragon egg.
If Arkas gets a game it needs to be text based only :P I don't know what type though
Kurt could have a space game similar to This
Pause could have a basic arrow shooting game like the slingshot mini-game in Ocarina of Time.
Ooh Beef could have one like he is constantly falling and there are obstacles in his way and he has to avoid them, it's hard to explain, like Cube Runner on the Ipod Touch but falling vertically.
And I was also thinking a relay between all the redstoners on the server, like passing the olympic torch but with a redstone torch, so from Doc to Etho to Shree and so on.
Sorry if some of these are a bit off but I was just getting carried away with ideas :P
Let's have a little comparison between the two:
I was wondering that myself yesterday. The vlog channel it's part of his $5k goal on Patreon - which he reached a while ago, but as these things go, that amount has gone down to $4.4k, so I'm guessing that's why he hasn't done any more videos.
Not confirmed to be on PC yet, but it does sound pretty likely to happen some day.
Honestly, I kinda suck at math. The stat class I'm taking now is the first math class I've had in five years. All I did in this post was middle-school algebra and basic unit conversion. (And let's not forget the power of procrastination + alcohol!)
If you do struggle with math though, I strongly advise that you check out Khan Academy. It is an excellent resource for relearning all those topics that you slept through in high school.
Hopefully this will help warm me up for Cal II and III next year. ^(ohgodhelpme!)
Ah, wrote lots of text on the reddit, but for some reason it didn't go in.
Quick rundown: This is my reply to when Guude stated he wanted someone to make a texture pack where XP Orbs are bees, so I made this.
Screenshot: http://tinypic.com/r/343ol5y/6
2:30 rounds are brutal.
Here we go again.
[1st Helpful signs nearby so very easy to find. Altough I chose wrong gas station on the map, so no perfect score for me. And no, Polish language does not look like Finnish at all Jeff! :( :p](/spoiler)
[2nd Another relatively easy one. The country, state and town name were easy to find, but finding Floydada on the map of Texas took some time.](/spoiler)
[3rd "somewhehe in the Canadian prairies" was all I was able to get from this one.](/spoiler)
[4th Australia is always difficult in Geoguessr, I had know idea where it and randomly guessed somewhere in New South Wales, turns out it was in Tasmania.](/spoiler)
[5th Wow they really have weird place names in Cornwall. The style of street signs looked like British, but town names didn't sound like English, Scottish or Welsh at all. But then I noticed one town name that sounded vaguely familiar: St. Austell, so I guessed there, and luckily it was relatively close.](/spoiler)
22037 points today. Not bad, but there were some lucky guesses, so it could have easily been much worse.
If anybody does want to use the skin, click here. It basically asks you if you want to change your skin to that.
I myself have already changed my skin to it, seeing how amazing it is. Hopefully seth also agrees and uses the skin for the upcoming UHC.
New way:
Get VLC (If you haven't already).
Download Livestreamer from GitHub - Download will start when you click the link.
Install, just click next each time.
Press Win + R, or search Run in the Start Menu.
Paste in the following text:
livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/mindcracknetwork source
Enjoy.
If you want to do the same to other livestreams, replace the twitch.tv URL with the stream you want to watch.
You mean this? Anderz simply gets pissed off with people asking the same questions over and over again even though he has already answered them several times. He thinks it's the same people messing with him and he doesn't like repeating himself, nothing unusual.
Foobar can also do this, on top of being a great open-source music player. There are tons of great programs that are better than using a web-based converter.
I hope Zisteau looks into this before doing much more work.
> it'self
I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such an apostrophe. — Charles Babbage
Re-submitted because the time conversions were wrong. And I got to fix the title :P
EDIT: /u/stinusmeret created a countdown with the right time :)
According to the Oxford Dictionary both ways of saying it are correct, but are slightly different in meaning, so I guess Coestar didn't have to send it back after all ;)
I actually think that one of his old channel descriptions was "Video games in ya face!" Edit: I guess we are both technically right?
Only the one in Brazil was really hard, the other ones were not that hard but the time limit does make it tough
Good round, but the big highlight is that one of my childhood locations was featured in Geoguessr, and such a vague one at that!
This is starting to take significant part of my evenings with first playing it myself and then watching three videos. Anyway I got 18464 today.
1st: It know where Övertorneå is so I was able to guess relatively close, unfortunately I went to south of Övertoneå instead of north.
2nd: Immediately felt like Pohjanmaa(western coastal area of Finland) due the flat farmland and with the help of the signs Nebris and Baj also saw I was able to get pretty close to the correct location.
3rd: Like everybody else I failed badly on this one.
4th: I saw sign that said something about south western Texas, and with that I was able to find Del Rio.
5th. With crappy camera quality it was difficult to get much out of this. Because of terrain being hilly grassland my first though was something like Wyoming or Nebraska. I also saw the oil well or whatever it was and briefly thought of Bakken oil fields in North Dakota, but unfortunately I decided to go with my original guess.
17907 today.
1 I recognized the town name so this was pretty easy for me.
2 I'm Finnish so this was also relatively easy, though it took a while to get the exact place.
3 This was a really tough one. I knew I was in southern Russia but guessed on the completely wrong side of the country, and my hopes for a good score are gone :(
4 Found the 90 and 277 signs so guessed roughly at the intersection.
5 Couldn't find anything that would tell me what state I'm in so guessed between Kansas/Nebraska/Iowa (I have seen a lot of potato quality stuff there)
Couldn't recognize the characters but thought they looked more Japanese than Chinese, and then found highway 4 and made a guess from there.
Found the Brunswick Sheet Metal Company, then a sign that gave the city name (Dieppe).
Found an ø, so I figured I was in Norway, then followed highways north as the numbers grew, to 851.
Found a Guadalajara police vehicle.
Everything was in French, and I thought most of Canada had at least some English, so I guessed France. Figured there had to be a Montreal in France too.
24360 today.
1 the language looked Japanese so guessed in the middle of Japan. got surprisingly good amount of points.
2 Went all the way to Moncton before I knew where I was. Then estimated where I had spawned.
3 This was easy. Spent about 2 minutes searching for the right place and got the full 5000 points.
4 The first 3 guesses had gone so well that I decided to go full try hard mode and get as many points as possible. so I spent the next 20 minutes trying to find where I was. After I had found the city I was in I gave up on the max points because I was so bored after the 20 minutes of searching and just guessed in the midlle of Guadalajara.
5 This was another easy one. However I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get full 5000 but only 4999 :)
18823 today. I had some extra difficulty today as I am away from home and the combination of my ancient laptop and crappy hotel wifi meant that each move took about 5 to 10 seconds to load :p.
The first one was a complete failure, I had no idea so guessed Brazil because of tropical climate, despite that the language did not look like Portuguese at all...
2nd I saw sign that said Tay Bridge, so I guessed near Dundee, which turned out to be relatively close.
3rd Horse and cart on road almost always means Romania in Geoguessr and language seemed to match.
4th obviously Norway, and I had encountered highway 17 in a previous game so I knew roughly which part of the country it was.
5th Being Finnish I immediately recognized the railway coaches, however I didn't find anything to tell which town it was ,but for some reason it felt like northern Finland. Semi randomly guessed Oulu, which was not too far away from the correct answer.
18343 this time.
1 Recognized that I was in Asia but didn't find any good glues so guessed the coast of Thailand
2 Went the other way than JSano and saw a sign with a road number, Had a quick look around the map and guessed a are where there was similar numbers.
3 Found a truck that had .Ro in it so guessed in the middle of Romania
4 Recognized the language but didn't find any other good glues. Thought the landscape looked like southern Norway so guessed near Oslo.
5 Being Finnish really helped here :) found a sign that said Kemi but didn't find anything else that would have been useful so guessed a bit south from Kemi. Bit disappointed though because I was so "far" off on this one
Overall really fun seed.
I almost forgot it was a two minutes chalange with the first one and it makes it more of a guessr instead of searching for little hints. Anyhow I got 14677
Also horses on the road is eastern europe 90% of the times
Played along with JSano today and got 20818. Going to follow in fellow geoguessr and explain my guesses
[First one: I found the subway sign and luckily stumbled upon Cache Creek, so I put mine about 10 km out](/spoiler)
[2nd: Recognized the flag and painstakingly followed all the 80, 70, 90 roads until I came upon the 82. I just made a random guess at an intersection](/spoiler)
[3rd: Somehow I found a sign with the name of the park and Oregon, passed a bridge and put my marker somewhere near a river](/spoiler)
[4th: Got out of the neighbourhood to get lost in the other neighbourhoods, just put this where I'm familiar in US geography](/spoiler)
[5th: Figured out I was in a Nordic country by the signs and the line colours, found a name I recognized from my futile search earlier and put my guess down around there](/spoiler)
All in all, I don't think I did half bad for my first play along.
That ending was great. Never seen that happen before. Its pretty damn funny. Clearly the planet is a Mesmer. Great series. Loved to see Zisteaus take on it, and see him get a little spooked at times. The spaceship talk makes me want another Kerbal Space Program series, but i imagine there isnt much left to do in that game, except maybe new mods?
I am curious, has Zisteau ever played OpenTTD? I remember that he enjoys Rollercoaster Tycoon, and the crazy base building/logistics of Factorio.
Hello, today I bring you a Mindcrack Rainmeter theme that i've been working on. If you don't know what Rainmeter is, it's basically a program that lets you customize your desktop with things like clocks, custom program icons, cpu, battery precentage etc.
I've made a theme wich let's you access all of the Mindcrackers YouTube channels right from your desktop. Also when you hover over them it displays their YouTube banner.
This is nothing compared to all of the other stuff people have made and I am by no means an expert when it comes to Rainmeter but I just wanted to share my creation with all of you.
Just the last couple weeks. So far they've included some of Mindcrack's funniest content ever. If you missed it, just in the last couple days there was a 24hr random stream, contained a lot of laughs. I definitely recommend the Golf with Friends segment here (About 20:30 if it doesn't work).
11.30pm Central time so 11.00pm if you are on the east coast :) Australia represent!
Here is the timer: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Mindcrack+24+Hour+Livestream&iso=20140913T10&p1=179&ah=23
If this is a an ongoing concern for you I would consider looking into blocking the process using a firewall. It would persist for the whole session and should be relatively easy to turn on and off (and wouldn't affect other processes like the browser). Specifics vary by platform but for windows it's fairly straightforward [http://superuser.com/questions/131365/how-to-prevent-a-file-from-accessing-the-internet].
Thanks for all the great content!
If anyone doesn't have Civ5 and is interested, check out HumbleBundle you can get Civ5 if you pay over the average amount, and you can choose how much of it goes to charity... at the time of this post, the average price is $8.92 US. You also get 5 other Sid Meier games for paying just over $1 US. It's well worth a look. :)
1) Guessed in Northern Italy because of mountains but ended up being on the wrong side of Italy.
2) I was about to go Peru but put Mexico.
3) Found a sign with Alberta and the intersections.
4) Guessed near the German border based on the D-road names and language.
5) Recognised Thai symbols and found the road.
I wish I knew there was a timer before I started playing. Got a 0 on the first map for taking too much time. I had figured out I was in Italy and figured it was closer to the South given the trees.
Saw a sign that Lima was ~200 km away almost immediately. I overestimated how far 200 km was though and ended up a good 1000 points away.
Something about the timer makes me do dumb things. The only clue I got is that we were in Western Canada and a road number. I couldn't find the road in the allotted time so I guessed in the middle of BC.
Yellow D road = France. German sounding name = East. Couldn't find the road or town within 5 minutes and ended up 50 km away.
Figured out it was Thailand via the language on the map and the shape of the road signs. Found the road eventually and ended up 40 km away.
graffiti with milan ended up misleading me to the wrong end of Italy
sign with provincia de barranca & lima
English signs, km/h, caution: deer sign, guessing canada, sign with edmonton & leduc
bunch of german signs, searched for highway 35 in germany, couldn't find it
Thai...fuck can't read it..no idea where chaiyaphum is
16550 today. I was able to find the Latvian location, but others were pretty much just guesses. I'm sure I would have been able to make better guess on the French one if I had been allowed to the motorway, but otherwise the rule did not have any major effect on the game.
(Re)subscribed to JSano because of this series. Geoguessr is one of my favourite timewasters.
I really enjoy these timed challenges, otherwise I get too caught up with finding the exact spot, or traveling for miles to find some clues.
21329pts. Good round for a 2 minute limit.
Guessed Indonesia because of sign with latin letters and non-european language. They have a lot of islands though.
Guessed Scotland due to some scottish-looking names, luck got me very close.
You know, you kind of learn to recognize Romania after playing geo for a while. Flags confirmed my gut feeling. Was able to find all towns on nearby road sign.
"Bilsenteret Namsos". Sometimes being Norwegian helps.
Turns out the E75 in Finland is a pretty long road. I was at the wrong end of it...
21879 today, really pretty pleased with that given the time restrictions. I've also now decided that URLs are the most helpful things to find in timed challenges.
21061 today. I suspect that many will get better score than me as I was rather impatient today. In the first one I gave up due crappy camera almost instantly, and in the Thai ones I just guessed somewhere in the middle of Thailand once I found out the country.
Ah, the famous deserts of Pennsylvania! Also disappointed that Jeff did not notice the fire station in the last one. But the instant house restoration was pretty cool. Anyway, I got 21856 today which is okay I guess.
I've always wondered if the guys use something like a Meeting Planner to synchronize release times and dates or if they figure that stuff with their fingers. I always forget by the time the weekly thread for small questions rolls around :3
I liked all the entries for Anderz' Birthday Banner contest, remember we will have a subreddit Birthday Party on the PlayMindcrack server this Saturday, at 4 PM EST :D
As for videos: I have really enjoyed the daily Mindcrack videos by Jsano, as well as Chad! Great work on the vanilla server, those guys :D
Seriously?
Obviously they're doing it by choice. They don't want to be sued for one billion dollars.
It was just introduced. It's in beta. It will need to be adjusted and fixed, however without implementing this system they could be forced to shutdown in the future. As it stands I am amazed they were never sued, as they made no effort to deal with copyrighted content.
I enjoy Rob's content and I think he seems like a good guy, but I feel sort of odd about him asking for donations after he was given $120,000 for a project 1.5 years ago that he hasn't yet delivered on. I'm sure he fully intends to deliver on everything, but I think it's still a bit offputting.
Using Chrome's developer tools to swap out the existing CSS with mine fixes the problem. (Just tested it again as I posted this comment)
~~Do the comments in this sub have unique text for you?~~
Edit: Now it's implemented so evidently it works.
Edit: In fact, I did some investigating and not all comments in /r/mindcrackcirclejerk are unique. They only have unique text when their text is defined after the text of their parent comment (i.e. the last character of their ID comes later in the alphabet/numbers, since the CSS is ordered). This is expected behaviour that also occured in /r/mindcrack.
For example, take a look at this comment thread.

It should be relatively obvious what is happening, but I'll include an explanation for completeness.
The first three comments with IDs b, p, x
(in alphabetical order) display correctly as each is able to override the comments above it.
Comment 3's text overrides comments 4-6 as x
comes after b
and g
(in the CSS declarations).
For the same reason, comments 7 and 8 have unique text as they continue the alphabetical/numerical sequence.
Countdown to Event (I hope I did that right)
Also, I apologise in advance for my awful IGN. Shamelessly using my younger nephew's old account because I can't afford my own yet. TNTxSnipEzZz
Game of Thrones intro music playing in head
Obviously a canyon, chose the grandest one I know of
Cool bridge bro
Don't know London landmarks. Had half a mind to place it on Piccadilly Circus (because it's famous), but couldn't find it on the map.
Don't know American history, so had to travel a bit to find the correct city (by finding interstates). Found Independence hall on the map so not too much of a stretch to place it there.

Did relatively well on 4/5, but the third one really fucked me over.

1.) made out a Highway 26 sign, found it in Idaho, got closer then Nebs :)
2.) Oh Boy did I eff this up pretty bad. Guessed South Africa (I thought Aussies had yellow road striping ><)
3.) Reminded me of photos I'd seen in Southern Peru, so I guessed their, and got closer then NEBS did :D
4.) Reminded me of foliage you'd see in the mid atlantic region, so I guessed between North and South Carolina.
5.) Guessed north Thailand.
Got right the first four with enough hints. For the fifth one, I was closing on the 33 minutes duration of Jsano video and I didn't want to bother with blurry roads, so I tried South Dakota, that wasn't that.
I overshot the truck so I didn't get any clues at all. Guessed Finland and was waaaay off.
Red houses = Scandinavia. Guessed a little above Oslo and wasn't too far away.
America + mountains = Colorado? A good guess!
Only clue was a Baptist Church. I believe they are mostly popular in the South. Like Baj I guessed Alabama but was closer.
Polish city name. Didn't look northern so I guessed pretty much right in the middle of the county.
Edit: Now I'm watching JSano and discovered that I could actually go 3 clicks both ways!? I made it harder on myself by not reading the rules.
By the road and the mailboxes, this is the US. Looks hot and dry. I guess AZ or NM? But no identifying markers at all on either side of the road. Took a stab in the dark.
Looks European to me. Euro-style license plate confirms it. Found a sign post, looks like Italy. Couldn't find any of the towns, so guessed northern Italy from the landscape.
Looks Eastern European. Poland? Signs point that way. Looked in the wrong part of the country, though.
US, no question. "Get Right With God"? Bible belt. "State of Tenn" and Highway 63? This is easy! Except that there is apparently more than one 63 on Tennessee?
Poland is an easy mark just by the .pl domain name. A hotel sign puts me close to Tarnow. A little further down the road, and I have the town name (which I will not attempt to spell :) ). Put the marker down with more than a minute to go, and boom: Less than a mile from the correct location. I don't think I could have gotten any closer.
I really liked the 4-minute limit. It hurrys you along, but I didn't feel rushed like with the 2:30 limit.
20890 points
I'm really pleased with that, I'd call that a good result normally, and with the five minute timer it's even better.
1) Found a road sign pointing to Vilnius, went for near Vilnius.
2) This was mostly luck; I found a US flag, thought the vegetation looked quite a lot like England, went for somewhere in New England.
3) Thai looking text on the signs, pinned the middle of Thailand.
4) Got it to Spain OK, but didn't get any more precise even after finding a decent road sign.
5) Similar sort of experience with this one, got Italy with no trouble, but even after finding a road sign, spent all the time looking in the north. If I'd only started looking in the south first, I could probably have got it pretty close.
Decent game, not having any blurry places was nice.
18126 for me!
Eastern European language but not Russian, might as well be Greek to me. At least the UN flag did not throw me off.
Was thinking Pennsylvania up until the last few seconds where I discovered the sign that had "grange" on it and went northwest with it. SHould have stuck with my gut.
Truck with Thai on it, That license plate found later. Mainland bet hedged wisely.
Spanish text, higher northern hemisphere. found the A32 sign, found the A32 with a few seconds to spare, but chose north closer to A30, A31, and A33. It's RED in Google Maps.
Italian text and the right colors on that one sign near spawn, went on a wonderful tour of the countryside before a hedged bet on the mainland cost me points.
Eventually found out we were in Utena. As an anime nerd of older age, this name has stuck out on the map for me before.
Besides the obvious "we are in USA" clues, the only hunch I had to go by was a blue paw print on a van I saw early. I was fairly sure that it was a symbol of Penn State University. I guessed southwest of the college and it ended up to the southeast.
Knew the general region from the language. Eventually saw a paved road with Thai flags. Guessed in the southern area and got a disappointing score.
City names were a little confusing but I eventually settled on Spain. Got pretty lucky with my guess.
Stupidly guessed northern Italy. At least I had the right country!
I just can't deal with such short time limits :|
Figured it was Brazil. Saw the MS-112 which got me the state name. I was just too far up the road.
I found no legible clues where I went. Guessed in Eastern Colorado figuring it would be somewhere in the middle of the country. Bleh.
Figured it was Spain. I guessed somewhere towards the South. I doubt I would have guessed Mallorca even with unlimited time.
This one killed me. I saw a truck that I thought had the .pe domain name so I guessed Peru. Obviously I was way off.
This is definitely one where the time limit screwed me up. I saw signs for the 441 and the Florida 15. I spent the whole time looking at the map. Unfortunately I started north so I ended up guessing at numbers that were close to 15 when time was running out. Ended up several miles away.
17721 today.
was easy, road signs indicated it was around the border of Sao Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sol.
Saw the sign for 522. I knew where that was but the potato quality picture and time limit made it hard to pinpoint. Since it was going west I stuck it in West Virginia.
Knew it was Spain, the MA road made me put it near Madrid.
Saw a sign for Ejido. I knew there was an Ejido in Venezuela and one in Spain, and since the last one was Spanish I went for Venezuela.
Intersection signs helped narrow it down.
Man, 2:30 time limit made me feel really rushed.
Total 18km distance away. Lots of road signs on this one simplifies things a lot. Lucky to find the exact intersection in Thailand though.
It's very refreshing to play one round without getting Brazil, Russia or Australia :)
19956 today.
I'm surprised I managed to pinpoint the places so well. I based myself on the climate/biome characteristics for a rought idea of the area or enviroment, then I looked for signs and texts to get an idea of the country it was from. Once figured the approximate country, I applied the first aspect to get a better pinpoint.
