that product helps mouth breathers work on using they’re nose even while sleeping, great product.
Saw it here I believe - it's god damn awful to sort through
Wait experiment with what exactly? You mean removing your fixed retainers? I don't know if thats a great idea 😬 I'd try mewing with the retainers first, orthodontics cost a lot of money so if it doesn't go well you will lose all the progress you made with orthodontic treatment. I mean say what you want about orthodontics, but when you have/had poor oral posture braces are def better than nothing.

They do, but they feel weird for the first few times and I don't know if you'd wanna wear them in public, but I use them on my commutes sometime and under my mask and it helps a lot. If I was you I'd try these ones since they come in different sizes and shapes. https://www.amazon.ca/Mobi-Lock-Anti-Snoring-Solution-Stopper/dp/B07GJX5QST
As a guy with a big beard, 3M micropore tape works fine. Don't use the chin strap, tape is better at conditioning you to keep your mouth closed. The trick is to just use a shit ton of it. I use one vertical over lips then 4 other pieces for each corner that covers part of my cheeks where there is no hair.
I use this: https://www.amazon.ca/3M-Micropore-Tape-1530-2-Rolls/dp/B0082A9GS2

Somnifix is a giant waste of money, and you can still mouth breathe through it.
I recommend 3M Micropore Paper Tape https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003TXPZ64?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Don't put it right on your lips, as it's too sticky. Rip off 1 inch. Put the piece on your wrist and rip it off a few times until some adhesive is lost. Now it'll hurt less to peel off in the morning. Goodnight!
Don't go for falim, use mastic gum. It's more expensive, but it lasts longer (you can reuse it for 2 or 3 days). This pack should last you about a month: https://www.amazon.com/Chios-Mastiha-Natural-Mastic-Growers/dp/B07Q454QLH/ref=sr\_1\_8?crid=3J3VENREJGV1Y&keywords=tears+of+xios&qid=1647464146&sprefix=tears+of+xios%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-8
There is a harder gum called "Falim gum", but this gum suffers from the problem that most gums do; it is made out of ingredients that usually contain varying degrees of substances you do not want in your body. Even though a person obviously never swallows gum while chewing, it is unavoidable that traces of it will make it into your body as you chew and swallow every now and then.
For the reason mentioned above I recommend the following gum; https://www.amazon.com/Xylichew-Naturally-Sugar-Free-Chewing-Spearmint/dp/B00IJVDIR4?
This is the gum that I intend to buy. Thus far I have been relying on a big ball of gum from regular sugar free gum that I bought in my local grocery store. I take 10-20 of those small pieces of gum and chew it into a big ball of gum to increase the resistance. It gives me quite a good chewing workout!
Just make sure to go easy in the start, make sure to not develop any TMJ issues.

One of these will help, I don’t use it as pictured but instead sleep on my back and use it as a pillow under my head and then wrap it so my knees are lifted and you stay in place
This is totally wrong and not how chewing works at all. During the mastication phase where the food is on the molars and you open your mouth, your jaw goes forward and to the side, then comes back. So let's say your jaw moves to the left and slightly forward, when it closes it comes back to the right and back, this is how we grind and break down food.

"Most foods are first crushed by vertical movements of the mandible before being sheared by lateral to medial movements of the mandible to make a bolus"
Although honestly people worry too much about this, chewing is subconscious and everyone knows how to do it, don't start complicating it by thinking you're doing it wrong. It's like people realized their tongue posture is not ideal and now suddenly they think they should somehow chew differently, op, just chew normally and stop worrying about it.

There are a lot of medical terms and I don’t expect anyone to understand this. But reach towards the middle if you can stomach the read and if your attention span is trained enough to focus. Best of luck.

Cant help you with school, but I bought a thing to raise my laptop while I'm working (link). You also have to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard for this setup but it's improved my posture a lot.
Overbite develops due to lack of good tongue posture. Good tongue posture helps correct it but it is a slow process. https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Influence-of-Myofunctional-Therapy-on-Upper-Moschik-Pichelmayer/d7e8771dff1b7ea0f43bb85b0c5312f8a81af0a8

You can. Upload the photos to this site https://imgbb.com/ and then copy the link they give you to your reddit post. To copy, select it by clicking and dragging your mouse cursor over the text you want, then right click and select the copy option. That will store it in the computers memory temporarily, allowing you to right click anywhere else and choose paste, printing it out somewhere new. Really useful for links.
My mewing position is the same as when I'm swallowing. I'm doing the "ng" -thing when mewing. Here is a video of me mewing/ not mewing: https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif/ezgif-4-75dd26d0c740.mp4

also I can't breathe at all when mewing, even if I do it just a tiny bit.
So this link is a picture of a woman who has the same condition as me and it resembles my situation the most.
Beforehand through research, I've read that Asian people get affected by this more often this is why Masseter Botox is popular in those countries.
To add i was born in the U.S. but my parents are both Hispanic(Born in Mexico)

oooh, that looks great! So its basically mastic gum? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ELMA-Chewing-Natural-Mastic-Mastiha/dp/B075MJ8R5K ? It does have titanium dioxide. Isnt that bad?
After reading your long ass thread aha- from my understanding gum arabic is a somewhat generic term and not a specific gum from a specific plant or whatnot. It's usually used for cooking, as a thickener from my understanding, while Greek Chios gum is a specific sap that comes from a specific tree in Greece. I think it's primarily found on one island, but I'm not sure about this part. This is what you want to chew but don't overdo it- start off chewing for 15-20 minutes or so and then buildup slowly over time or you may irritate, or even damage, your jaw. I've linked the kind that I've bought before and it seems to be very high quality, after they cut the tree to let sap out they put in in sand to prevent it from sticking to everything so you want to rinse the gum before chewing.

Hey buddy,
Regular gum isn't hard enough for you to develop jaw muscles.
I use this: Jawline Exerciser by Tilcare -... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08S49QPCF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And for gum I use this: Falim 100 Pieces Sugar Free... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005GR1WO0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You might be pressing your tongue too hard causing a headache. Whenever I press hard I feel a ton of pressure in my head, you don't want to press hard just left it rest there with slight force on the pallet.
Does the sound happen at your throat or your nose? If it happens at your throat your pushing your tongue too far back. If it happens at your nose you probably have a low CO2 tolerance. Switching to nose breathing dramatically decreases the level of air we breath in and out. So you have a higher build-up of CO2 which makes you feel breathless and therefore breathing heavier. A great video by "What I've Learned" on the subject He explains the 'breathe light to breathe right exercise' It involves slowing down your breathing to a rate that creates a tolerable air shortage. It takes some practice, when I first started I could barley hold it for a few minutes. "Oxygen Advantage" A book mention in the video which I highly recommend.
I made a jaw trainer with these moldable plastic beads and it molds to my bite perfectly and its way more efficient than gum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004MFLU4Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_9QHCQDYHDDN4Q2GM2NZ6
I use this one, but there are several on the market that seem to do the trick. It's helped a lot; my gums no longer bleed, tooth sensitivity is better, and teeth are whiter. Gum recession still there but not getting worse at least. There's tons of research on red light therapy and I feel it's an important component to any orofacial protocol.

Man, we are doing a lot of the same stuff :) Crazy how a few mms in the craniofacial structure leads to so many problems, forcing us to mount this herculean effort which is certainly better than nothing but often feels inadequate, if not futile. Like, all of it could have been avoided if I just wasn't born with a tongue tie, or SOMEONE had taken note of my recessed jaw and poor posture and decided to intervene. Someone like my ortho, but no he thought putting me in headgear was a better idea. Playing with children's lives as if they were guinea pigs.
How is craniosacral working for you? I've done chiropractors, physical therapy, and NUCCA with no improvement whatsoever for my back pain.
Do that. Make sure to chew sufficiently though. Don't go crazy with that either though so that you develop TMJ issues. But for real, chew sufficiently. If you eat a soft diet then compensate with chewing gum. I recommend hard gum such as Falim gum. You can buy it from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Falim-100-Chewing-Gum-Damla-Sakizli/dp/B005GR1WO0).
I use it myself and it is tougher than any common gum. Also, it is sugarless and free of artificial sweeteners.
If you develop strong chewing muscles as a kid good resting oral will take care of it self. That was the case with our ancestors after all (according to Paul Ehrlich and Sandra Kahn, Mike Mew, and many others I am sure).
Also, obviously make sure that you never have clogged noses and that you always breath through your mouth.
These things are considered to be a part of "mewing" by the way. Mewing is not all about the tongue as I am sure you know.
just amazon, here is the one that I buy. Just 25 g will last me a few weeks, if not a month.

I can't attest to that one specifically; however, https://www.amazon.com/Chios-Mastiha-Natural-Mastic-Growers/dp/B07Q454QLH/ref=pd_sbs_236_3/147-5811697-0113429?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07Q454QLH&pd_rd_r=78fe8e6e-9cfb-4da1-92ae-ca7587f2581e&pd_rd_w=rRorW&pd_rd_wg=rDokt&pf_rd_p=5873ae95-9063-4a23-9b7e-eafa738c2269&pf_rd_r=1AHJZE4HKXNRM4MDZTVV&psc=1&refRID=1AHJZE4HKXNRM4MDZTVV this product worked 3 out of the 4 times. One of the times I got mastic gum that was much softer than the rest but it could be me getting used to the gum.
Turkish falim gum. It’s relatively cheap on amazon, but the gum itself is much harder to chew than the regular gum we’re used to. It will really develop your jaw musculature if you chew often. This will make the effects of your mewing even more noticeable.
Here’s a link to the one I purchase - Falim Gum
