I am glad you like it :)
It is important to use it the right way. Many people try to paint almost everything red or green. But it is enough to do just a couple of strokes, 99% of the area can stay grey.
https://www.photopea.com/tuts/magic-cut-remove-image-background-online/
I've had a friend send me a .psd file that was made in Photoshop and it worked without any issues.
You have drawn a thin rectangle, the Stroke is disabled at the top, the fill is White.
I recommend you to read this and the parts below: https://www.photopea.com/learn/vector-graphics Or you can buy a book about Adobe Photoshop, as this works identically in Photopea.
Hi,
It is called - Color Halftone. Look how I made it: https://www.photopea.com/#i6IOg-pc2
First you should to have gradient from black to white and then, you have to use "filter -> pixelate -> color halftone" and set all the angles to the same value - it can be any angle but I have set 0 like in your example (if not - you will have RGB color separation)
Was this helpful?
Layer masks are designed exactly for this.
Go to Layer > Raster Mask > Add (Reveal All)
Now, instead of the Eraser tool, use the Brush tool and set the color to black. If you erase too much, you can set the color to white and then add it back in.
What is a "vector image"? Is it one layer or several layers? You can put all layers into a folder and add a vector mask to that folder. https://www.photopea.com/learn/masks
Here is a tutorial about swapping faces, but you can use it to copy any part of an image into another image: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/swap-faces-online/
Hi, by "google fonts", do you mean these fonts? https://fonts.google.com/ . Note, that these fonts were not made by Google, and do not belong to Google. It is just a collection of free fonts from different font creators.
Photopea already contains all these fonts (and thousands of others), so if you open a PSD in it, where these fonts are used, you can edit text layers without any problems.
Try to drag one of them with ALT.
It works exactly the same like in Photoshop.
A little ore about working with paths in Photopea you can find here https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-manipulation
I really love this feature in Illustrator. I use it not only for text deformations.
Sadly... in Photopea there isn't nothing similar yet :(
You can try to change type layer to shape by clicking right mouse button on that layer name and then "convert to shape".
Then you can use "free" warp by using CTRL+T and Warp option. In text - you haven't this (only a prepared deformations like "flag" "wave" etc.)
It is not a best solution but maybe can help in some situations
Your browser is probably showing you the old version of a font database.
Are you using Photopea at www.Photopea.com ? Can you reload it and clear the cache?
Standard browsers do it themselves, unless you have some weird browser or weird extensions.
It should be possible with the latest web standards.
Our manifest.json already describes the supported formats: https://www.photopea.com/manifest.json so it is up to a browser to make it work within the OS.
Here is a little Guide File if you want: https://www.photopea.com/#ilShm2Ci0
You might have to make smoother selections for a better result. (Pen tool gives the smoothest manual selections, I just used object selection as it is the fastest)
I don't think Photopea has Smooth Selection as a Refine Selection option yet (Would be a great feature, Ivan ;) ).
Hi, you should use the Direct Select tool: https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-manipulation
Or hold Ctrl to temporarily switch to Direct Select, while the Pen tool is active.
Hi, websites can not rewrite files in your computer. Read here how to save: https://www.photopea.com/learn/opening-saving
The Premium account has no extra features in comparison with a free account. Logging into Photopea also does not give any extra features.
Depends how accurately you want it. If you want them to use regular shapes you should be able to find the tools in the toolbar to create what you need.
If you want the more irregular shapes, you'll need to get familiar with the shapes and paths tools. The pathing tools are sort-of freehand but once you've created the rough shape use the Direct Selection tool to tweak the nodes. https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-manipulation
Hi, you can save it as PSD (File - Save as PSD), or export it to regular formats (File - Export as - JPG, PNG, GIF ...).
When you have a regular layer and select a part of it, you can transform only the selected part, or apply filters to a selected part.
But with Smart Objects, you can transform only the whole object (whole layer), or apply filter only to a whole smart object. You can not transform only a (selected) part of a smart object. It always worked like this. Adobe Photoshop and other programs also work like this.
I really recommend you to learn what Smart Objects are: https://www.photopea.com/learn/smart-objects . Don't use them, if you don't need them.
Show us the cover and we can tell you what font could be the best.
Without that it is so hard to tell witch font will be the best.
Someone can tell - it is a German Historical book - then use https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Bokor?category=Display ;) and that can be the worst decision for you
Are you working with www.Photopea.com or some other software? You can change the size of any image in Photopea to any specific size: https://www.photopea.com/learn/image-size
I wrote an article about it: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/alt-click-problem-on-chromebooks/
Are you sure it does not exist in "flags"?
Solved:
Go to edge://settings/privacy
Scroll down to
Enable security mitigations for a more secure browser experience
Click Exceptions, Add a site
I just opened a 300 MB PSD in Photopea, moved a layer, pressed Ctrl+S and the file was saved correctly :(
Can you find any specific spteps, which always lead to a problem?
Have you tried this? https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/
OP here, the great Photopea support team answered that I try including the font in the files as Photopea does not load fonts by default. I had already tested this though, with the same results as before. Here's the updated JSON with a font file:
{
"files":[
"https://dl.dropbox.com/s/o35wxuuaejrp25t/arial.ttf"
],
"script": "var layers = app.activeDocument.artLayers; var layer = layers.add(); layer.kind = LayerKind.TEXT; var textItem = layer.textItem; textItem.font = 'DejaVuSans'; console.log('we are here');"
}
Again many thanks to anyone who takes a look!
They are not paying me. Current ad mechanisms forbid running ads in a webpage, which is inserted inside another webpage, so I dont know how to monetize it yet.
My idea is, that people who use Photopea there, would probably not find www.Photopea.com anyway. So if we block them, we would probably not get more users or more money anyway.
Oh I see, yeah I completely misunderstood. Yes, if you want the colours to have a gradient you can of course set a Gradient Fill as a clipping mask on top of each shape layer: https://www.photopea.com/#ikpR-R_O3
You have to play around with the Angle and Offset to get it right.
How would you use that though to create something like that?
A way to create many of these fast and rough with the gradient fill would be to do something like this: https://www.photopea.com/#i48G85BQP (the fringing is from the resizing)
To change colours individually you could use the paint bucket tool.
The result with this method wil generally be not that nice and adjustable.
What kind of file are you opening? The prompt is displayed only for fonts, brushes and other resources. You are asked only once, and then, Photopea remembers your decision, until you close it.
Your browser extensions could be blocking it, see https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/
When you load a font from your computer, Photopea should ask you, if you want to store your font in a "Local Storage". Choose "Yes" and your font should stay there forever.
Unless you are using some browser extension, which deletes website data. See here: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/ Or maybe you clear website data manually.
You can simply create shape layers with the pen tool. With that you can get these nice bezier curves. Or you create masks with the pen tool and mask them out of solid colors. Here's an example of both methods: https://www.photopea.com/#iQqTbbSU9
The shape method is better for adjusting the shapes later with the pen tool. With the masking method you can use a hard round brush if you want to.
You should enable "auto-select" at the Move tool. Or you should select the layer you want to work with in Layers panel.
There are 100,000 things you can do in Photopea or Photoshop. Just spend 15 minutes reading Photopea.com/learn.
Try these steps: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/ . If nothing helps, you probably don't have enough RAM memory or GPU memory to open that many layers.
I think I've got it from the comment above, but if your curious it's the same web address https://www.photopea.com/, click file, click new, create, then on the right side there will be a mountain and sun icon that brings up the gallery.
In the question mark there when clicked says this "These images come from www.PixaBay.com and are free to use for any purpose."
PixaBay's terms of service are at this page https://pixabay.com/service/terms/
I just opened www.Photopea.com in Chrome on my Android phone (not Xiaomi). After exporting a JPG, it is still working.
Can you describe, how can I make Photopea crash? If it crashes only on Xiaomi, it is probably a problem in Xiaomi.
You need to learn how to duplicate, move and merge layers. Then, you just need to create a right structue of layers, according to our current animation mechanism, described here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/animations
Fonts in Photopea contain these fonts: https://fonts.google.com/ plus several thousand other fonts.
Basically, if there exist any free font (free for commercial usage), it is already in Photopea. So just use free fonts.
You can also send fonts (TTF, OTF) to your client and they can load them into Photopea manually.
I'm glad, I could contribute to your awesome work.
On the side note, the picture in the last video is quiet big (see yourself), so the bug is not caused by cropping to a small part in pixel size.
But playing around a little bit, I think I figured out, what's going on. When you crop out a picture, whatever width you take away from the left side will be the same width that is affected on the right afterwards. To help visualize this, I put 2 equally sized semi-transparent white boxes on the two sides.
The same goes for cropping away the top, then it is the bottom not working any more.
My guess is, as an absolute layman, that the live preview window is not transposed properly after the cropping.
They are promoting the brand "Photopea" (it is written at many places, e.g. if you close all documents). Maybe if their users learn the name "Photopea", they will eventually find www.Photopea.com .
I changed black to white in your image and have only white on the Image... there is nothing else... Is this what you want? ;)
That was a joke.
https://www.photopea.com/#iDRlCnXJe - all in vectors. You can do, whatever you want with it. Colorize to every color you want (just double click the thumbnail icon in the layers palette and choose a new color).
I don't have any Chromebook to test that, but you can check that https://krita.org/en/item/first-krita-beta-for-android-and-chromeos-in-play-store/
Krita is the best free drawing application. In photopea you can draw but it is not designed for that (for me Photopea is much slower in brush tools vs how does it work in Photoshop). I am also a teacher and all my lesson are in Photopea (I love that software), but when sometime I work on big project (big resolution with many layers) Photopea is very laggy when my students use big brushes to do something like hand drawed shadows or lights.
Started with this image and then used content aware fill to remove the back half of the tiger. It wasn't great so I had to clean it up a bit. Then I imported this model into sketchup free, fiddled around with it until I had the right view, and downloaded it as a png. I removed the background from that and brought it into sketchup. Then I masked off parts until I had what I wanted. Then came the part I'm not proud of, because I'm sure there is a simpler way. First off I'm partially colorblind so I never would have gotten the shades right of the floating triangles, so I wand selected individual pieces, made each one its own layer, and then moved them around until I had the look I was going for. If I weren't colorblind I'd probably have drawn individual ones, but what can you do?
By "png", you mean a pixel-based image with transparent parts?
Advanced strokes are possible only for vector graphics. You need to vectorize your shape and add a stroke to it, with a custom stroke pattern.
First try this link to see if it can be resolved.
www.Photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/
If it's really urgent & it's not getting resolved, than try Pixlr , which is web based app.
The Lasso tool shows the Magnetic Lasso on thte top Options bar.
Also, there is GIMP which you will need to install.
I received a reply from XP-Pen support:
> I have tried on my Deco pro tablet on chrome browser, the pen pressure works for me. The driver I have installed is the new UI driver, it works with G640S as well. Please make sure that the windows ink option is enabled in the pentablet setting, and the pressure options are enabled in the toolbar of https://www.photopea.com/ when the brush tool is selected. Also, since you mentioned that wacom tablets works, have you removed the driver for wacom? If not, it will cause driver conflict.
But so far it doesn't help ;)
Can you try this? https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/
Are you doing it on a phone? Is your phone more than 10 years old?
Idk, seemed to work for me: https://www.photopea.com/#i0LiDljTW
gradient on a mask works too
Edit: I realized what the problem might be. You have to click and drag to do a gradient
The files, that you open in Photopea, never leave your computer. Open www.Photopea.com, disconnect from the internet, and use it while offline, if you want to be sure :)
The "installed app", or logging in, do not change anything.
Learn about the brush tools: https://www.photopea.com/learn/brush-tools
You can increase the spacing, so that it leaves bigger spaces between brush tracks.
But instead of the brush tool, use the eraser tool.
Please, read our API: www.photopea.com/api . The "script" parameter should not be inside "environment".
A Distriboutr account only hides ads, it does not change any behaviour.
Hey u/ivanhoe90,
I've been trying and failing to get this to work. Is there any more information or functional examples of getting this to work?
I would be very grateful if you could modify your example API page to include centered text 'Hello World' & change the transparent BG to white. Happy to subscribe to donate or subscribe to premium for the privilege.
Hi, did you install any browser extensions into your browser? By default, browsers do not have any extensions. So either you, or someone else, probably installed extensions into your browser.
This article should help you: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/ads-in-photopea-do-not-work-what-to-do/
What do you want to be there instead of a person? If you just want a black color, paint that person with black with the brush tool.
If you want there to be a tree instead of a person, just cover that person with an image of a tree.
It is similar to removing text form an image: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/change-text-in-image-online/
https://www.photopea.com/api/accounts#distributors yes - it is legal, provided that someone has purchased such a form
How is it in this case? - the author of photopea must comment
Zeichne eine Freihandlinie für das Muster, setze Schrift darauf an und benutze nur die Taste Strich. Dann probieren bis die richtige Stärke erreicht wird.
Siehe hier: https://www.photopea.com/#ih3BTzbbF
You can trace the outlines of your picture with the pen tool and turn the path into a line which you can stylitze to best fit your desired look.
Here is a very basic example: https://www.photopea.com/#iRyciqPKE
In Photopea, there are only raster masks and vector masks.
If you want to make specific parts of your GIF transparent in all frames, put all frame layers into a folder, and add a mask to that folder.
Learn more about layers here: photopea.com/learn/layers
Just go to www.Photopea.com and try it out yourself, it will take you less than 3 seconds :)
Photopea runs on every device. About 10% of our users use Photopea on 50 dollar Android phones. The better your device is, the faster Photopea will work.
This is best achieved with a black to transparent gradient. With that you can accurately define the edge.
Here is a reference file: https://www.photopea.com/#ik5jPRS50
Here is a tutorial about how to copy a face from one photo into another. But you can copy any part of one image into another image this way.
Open www.Photopea.com in your browser and keep it opened, it will work offline.
Also, put your computer into a sleep mode instead of turning it off. That way, programs remain opened. I have not turned off my laptop in months.
So a simple glow effect can be achieved by cutting out the different parts and Adding an outer glow as a Layer Style. For that, you double click on the layer and the check the box at Outer Glow.
Here is an example: https://www.photopea.com/#iVxqQXXnt
You can use Photopea at www.Photopea.com for free, there is no need of embedding anything.
If you want to have a Distributor account to run PP without ads, follow these steps: https://www.photopea.com/schools
I think you have a thick stroke around your rectangle, which is "thin". You should change the stroke thickness of a vector shape, see here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-structure
Press File - Export As - PNG. The "PNG" button which you use exports only a selected layer.
You can learn how to save files at https://www.photopea.com/learn/opening-saving
I added the photos to the original post. These are about the same font size at 100%, the first is Pages, the second is Photopea. There's a slight pixelation on Photopea that causes blurry printing.
I'm not familiar with anti-aliasing, so it may just be that. I tried googling that on my own, and found the Photopea help page on it, but it says there's no such file:
https://www.photopea.com/learn/text-layers
Would you mind explaining or linking me to where I can find that information? Thanks!
There’s many ways to accomplish this. Most simple I can think of would be:
1. circle selection 2. invert selection 3. Delete
Hi, it works the same way as in Adobe Photoshop.
I wrote a tutorial about it: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/stitch-images-together-online/ , you can use that tutorial with Photopea or Photoshop.
These things in Photopea works exactly as in Adobe Photoshop. I don't know if it is similar to Illustrator.
Could you maybe record a short video of what is happening?
Smart Objects in Photoshop or Photopea work according to this description: https://www.photopea.com/learn/smart-objects
We have tutorial about how to combine multiple gifs on top of a static image: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/combine-multiple-gifs-together/
I think you need to learn how to use layers. If you copy-paste the mouth into a separate layer, you can paint the background with a Brush tool.
Read this: https://www.photopea.com/learn/layers
Hi, you can learn how to use Photopea at www.Photopea.com/learn . Photopea is not like a scooter, you can not use it right away. It is more like an airplane, you should learn first.
Oh wait I figured it out lol sdfgheuysh
For anyone wondering, you have to merge the gifs so that they play together!
To do this go to Layer - Animation - Merge
I used this website, I recommend it if you are confused or struggling with animation of photopea :) https://www.photopea.com/learn/animations#:~:text=Put%20each%20animation%20in%20a,pressing%20Layer%20%2D%20Animation%20%2D%20Merge.
You can paint their hair with a pink color (skin color).
Or you can cut the bald hair from another person and place it on the hair of your person.
This tutorial is about replacing faces, but you can use it to replace anything: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/swap-faces-online/
Hi, you can add an anchor point simply by clicking with a Pen tool. If you select an anchor point (with Direct Select tool), the new anchor point will be added after the selected anchor point (to the same shape).
See here - Pen Tool: https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-creating
Have you tried our vectorizer? https://www.photopea.com/tuts/vectorize-raster-images/
What do you mean by a white logo? Your logo is dark blue on a white background.
“... Photopea allows you to open them (TTF or OTF files) the same way you open any other file (File - Open, or drag-and-drop). They will be added to the end of the font list and used, when some type layer needs them.”
Were you trying to insert a GIF into a static image? You can use our tutorial for that: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/add-gif-into-a-still-image/ . Does it work for you too?
Note, that the article does not mention any "eyeballs", so you are not supposed to do any such ting.
We have this tutorial about removing text from the photo. You can use it to remove hair from the photo: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/change-text-in-image-online/
Hi, I just tried to follow your video in Photopea and it worked 100% the same.
Dragging a second layer into a mask of the first layer - where did you get that idea that it should work? Does it work this way in some other program?
Masks are quite a complex thing. I recommend spending at least 10 - 20 minutes learning about them here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/masks
if you have an image and you want to enhance it, photopea is not the right tool, but there are other tools out there that may be able to help. (I recommend letsenhance.io)
if you're wondering if you can export a photopea project in such a way that it won't lose quality, I suggest looking into vector graphics and SVG.
Hi, we have a tutorial about it: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/change-text-in-image-online/
You can also "cut out" characters into new layers, duplicate them and reorder them to create new words.
Hi, check out this tutorial: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/change-text-in-image-online/
Have you tried a Spot Healing Brush? It will do what you need :)
Here is a tutorial about copying a face from one photo to another. You can copy any area the same way: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/swap-faces-online/
Hi, the brush tool mechanism is not "rounded" to whole pixels. You should use a Pencil tool to do what you want, see here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/bt-basic
Hi, it is described in our API: https://www.photopea.com/api/live (also, there are demos with code). Please, learn, how Web Messaging thechnology works. The file is transfered from one website (Photopea) to another (your parent website containing iframe = Outer Environment), both are running on the same device in a RAM memory.
Your website, containing Photopea, should listen to "message" events, to receive messages from Photopea.
Hi, I wrote this tutorial about merging two gifs together: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/combine-multiple-gifs-together/
Just follow it, do not rename any layers. You should not see any such message, if you follow it precisely.
Hi, you should learn about layers and transparency: https://www.photopea.com/learn/layers
Every photo is rectangular, but you can make some areas transparent, to "cut out" objects.
Tell us exactly what you did. You can make several screenshots or record a short video.
Layer styles should be used according to this description: https://www.photopea.com/learn/layer-styles
Hi, we wrote a manual for Photopea here: www.Photopea.com/learn
If you plan to use Photopea for at least 20 hours in your life, it is really worth it to spend 4 - 5 hours at www.Photopea.com/learn . Otherwise, the same work will take you 60 hours instead of 25 (5 of learning + 20 of working).
Our UI is similar to Photoshop and we use PSD format as the main format, so you can use Photoshop resources, too.
The way animations work in Photopea is described here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/animations
It is hard to help you without seeing the structure of your document (layer names etc). Could you share a PSD with us?
Hi, it is not clear what you need.
I really recommend reading our manual here: https://www.photopea.com/learn . Even if you don't find a precise answer to your question, you will learn the terminology to be able to explain what you need.
Disable all browser extensions and try it again. That is how 99% of issues reported in this subreddit were solved :)
If you search for "photopea does not work" on Google, you will find this article: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/photopea-doesnt-work-what-to-do/
Do you mean Apple App Store? I think that would work only for Apple devices. We prefer to provide it at www.Photopea.com , where it works for everyone.
Also, we would have to pay Apple 30% from our sales :(
You should learn the basic feature: copying layers between different documents. It is described here: https://www.photopea.com/learn/layers
You can also use File - Open and Place, to open a document and place it into a current one as a smart object.
The blue contour, that you see in Photopea, is just a visualization of the shape of the vector object. It will not be visible in the result.
All images are rectangular. You should use PNG, if you want to have transparent areas (like corners in your case).
To set the Stroke of your shape, you should set the Stroke of your shape in the top menu. Please, read this: https://www.photopea.com/learn/vg-structure
The Refine Edge always produces a blurry edge, if there is no solid transition between a foreground and a background. See here to learn how to use it: https://www.photopea.com/learn/refine-edge
You can share images with other people through Imgur.com
Hi, what do you mean by a "blurry tool"? What tools did you used and at what stage it became blurry?
You can try using our Magic Cut tool: https://www.photopea.com/tuts/magic-cut-remove-image-background-online/
Hi AliFarooq,
that's the reason why the API exists...
Have you looked into API documentation? Are you familiar with JS?
Imagine the following example without an iframe - which shows the result:
https://www.photopea.com/api/playground
