To add on to this, the big source of smell with the Pax is the device itself and of course the herb; specifically getting it on your fingers as you load it. Don't forget to do a really great job of washing your hands after loading it and perhaps think of getting a smell proof case for it like this one. Personally I prefer these hard cases over the soft ones as they can be more thoroughly cleaned and hence remain smell free in the long term and also won't allow the bottom of the pax to pop open and spill your herb everywhere.

Got a brand new Pax 2 weeks ago. My only problem with it was that it was a little difficult to load the oven with clumsy fingers. So, I built a funnel and tamper 3d model and printed them on a 3d printer. They make loading and mixing MUCH easier. I can post pictures of the printed products later if you guys want.

The thing thats unclear is the email doesn't explicitly say I received a counterfeit, just that I did not purchase through an authorized retailer. Any experience that anyone might have that can shed some light on my situation would be greatly appreciated.

I put the avb in a French press then pour boiling water in and let it sit for 5 minutes then strain the water out. Repeat 3-5x until the liquid is light brown/yellow and mostly clear. Completely removes any nasty taste and still just as potent.

You use this instead of the screen that comes with the pax. It gets you more airflow. The top has an adjustable screw so you can change how much material is in the pax while still keeping it packed tightly.

It could be that you aren't packing the weed tight enough and also not grinding fine enough. I'll be honest a PAX really does take quite some fiddling with. Right out of the box I'm gonna figger 20 sessions before you actually get it dialed in. Here's something no one says out loud: you can not pack too tight and you can not grind too fine. My assessment of what you are seeing is you just plane don't have enough weed in the PAX to create any vapor. If your ABV is black then that's probably the case. Also - a good session is 2 petals till no vapor then 4 petals till no vapor. As a beginner I used 1, 2, 4 petals - that helps a lot with the hot problem.

I admit though it's doubled in price since i bought it.

It takes some practice to get it just right, but once you it's amazing.

Very fine grind. Half-pack lid, I still can't get a decent session with a full bowl, it just doesn't produce for me like half pack does.

The pack is the hardest part to get exactly right. It needs to be tight enough that the heat can distribute well but not so tight that you can't draw through it.

I also recommend replacing the lid and the screen with the 3d vented versions. Here is a cheap one but better ones do exist.

Damn, I bought a cleaning rod on Amazon a few years ago, but now it's not available. I did find a combo that comes with a rod, pusher, and 3D screen.

I'm using the black power cord it came with but it doesn't come with a wall adaption for charging so I've been using this

He customizes the colors etc... Also comes with two dube tubes. I use one for fresh ground stuff and the other for ABV. Totally smell proof.

He says its not water-proof but it seems pretty darn close. Definitely protects it from the elements and fairly shock proof too. Not tiny but not that big either.

What smells the worst is breaking out the herb and packing it and dumping/flushing it out when you're done with it, etc. Just make sure you stay next to the window during all that until your herb is sealed and stored. And start burning a candle like 20 minutes BEFORE your session begins... and keep it near the door... and then keep it burning for like 30 minutes after you're done and the window is still open.

The PAX will get smellier and smellier as time goes on, so you will need to keep it in a sealed environment when it's not in use:

I really recommend the aftermarket screen and lid. It helps make the draw easier, and the "sandwich" screen helps make your flower compress tighter and burn smoother. Huge and noticeable difference for only $15.

Seriously. BudKups! The only downside is that they are a trifle expensive for such small liddle bastards. Get a tamper too so that you can pack the weed as tight as you can. I grind my bud in a cheap coffee grinder. I grind it till it's like powder and then pack it with a tamper as tight as I can. I start my PAX3 on 2 and go to 4 when it's no longer producing on 2. You're probably doing it right. But I'd recommend getting rid of the qtips and instead getting the pipe-cleaners. One order of these has lasted me years.

Download the Pax app that syncs with your Pax3. There are videos in the app on how to clean it.

That said, there will always be some smell and little bit of char/crust left over.

Weed is stinky and sticky. The stinkier and stickier, the better. So once you use the device, there will always be a liiiiiiiittle bit of residue left over.

No, it definitely will fix the problem. I was skeptical about it at first too, but it works very well. Been using it to get my Pax 1 mouthpiece unstuck for over 2 years now. Just apply some to the bottom stem of the mouthpiece, then insert the mouthpiece back into the pax. You then wanna click the mouthpiece in and out quickly a lot of times (like 20-30x). It will make a world of difference.

The pax has one of the larger ovens out there as well, so that one oven pack might last you all day if you take only a couple of tokes when you get out. I get 15-20 pulls out of a oven before I change it. I love my pax 3. Using it as I type this.

With the right type of case you can put it in your pocket and it shouldn't smell. While using it, that will depend more on the weed type. I was in a room with windows closed when I tried my friends herb, so outdoors will smell much less.

I don't think there is really a portable vape that is odorless while using it but that might just be my lack of knowledge of the other vapes. Someone else will have to comment on that.

Super important that you clean the stem of the mouth piece and the area between the mouthpiece and the draw stem (essentially, the area where the stem is inserted). If this area is not cleaned thoroughly, the mechanism for the mouthpiece will become gunked up, the mouthpiece will get stuck, and the device will have difficulty recognizing when the mouthpiece is in the on or off position.

Pax 1 user here. Someone on this subreddit suggested this case which I've been using for a little over a year now. Just throw it in right after you're done and forget about it. It's not perfect but it makes a huge difference.

Going forward, get some 6" wooden qtip type swaps. They are great if you want a quick clean without using a pipe cleaner. Push it down backwards to remove the screen, then use the cotton end to wipe it clean.

I too have a Pax 2 (FUCK YEA) and am using it indoors with parents who may walk in. YES, the smell is apparent in a closed room with a candle. Much less than smoking, but still there. Here's some tips.

• Open a window as much as possible, even if it's just when you're hitting the Pax (ideally some time after to keep airflow moving).

• Invest in a Sploof. I recommend the Smoke Buddy Mega (very smooth)

• Keep those candles going after you have had your session. Can only help.

• Consider caps like these to keep on the Pax at all times when not in use. Unless you already keep it in an airtight container.

Just to add to this. The pax itself can get smelly after a few bowls. I personally don't have a problem with it when it's in my pocket but some people like to put these end caps on it to contain the smell. I like to keep mine in this case if I'm not planning on using it soon.

I bought this cleaning set. It comes with a metal tool that you can use to push the screen out and scrape the screen/oven clean when it gets really gummed up. For the airway, I use a pipe cleaner soaked in a bit of Isopropyl alcohol like other have suggested.

I've found that putting a quarter or something similar in your grinder and then moving it from side to side helps to grind down the herbs and push more kief through the screen. You can also get a "finishing grinder" like this one.

Also, make sure that you'll filling the oven up to the top or using a pipe screen to push the herbs down against the bottom of the oven to get the most out of it.

I use 100% therapy grade essential oils. My favorite mix to do is lemongrass & peppermint. I get light amounts of oil from the cap or the edge of where it pours out onto one side of the Q-Tip and I spread evenly both underneath the mouthpiece and the top of the PAX where the button is exposed. Then I use the dry side of the Q-Tip to wipe off any excess oil that didn't dry up quickly. This is 100% safe to do and it is beneficial to your health to inhale these oils. It also enhances your session because of the aromatherapy benefits it gives you. Benefits of Peppermint essential oil gives a cooling sensation and has a calming effect on the body. It also has antimicrobial properties so it can help freshen bad breath and soothe digestive issues. Lemongrass oils scent makes it a valuable aroma therapeutic oil. Its clean and calming aroma helps relieve stress, anxiety, irritability, and insomnia, and prevent drowsiness. Try it out! It's a great thing to do and it's beneficial!

I read this before moving into my new place because smell was a concern. I don't remember who posted this originally so I can't credit them but thanks dude if you're reading. I hate the smell that clings to everything even if it's not as bad with a PAX so I had my doubts. A smoke buddy will absolutely help for the smell during use but I don't bother with it.

Immediately after use I throw it in that case and usually end up forgetting about it. Opening the case a few hours after is a huge reminder of what it's holding back. I know this isn't 100% sealed but it still works very well. This also doubles as a good case to keep your PAX in great shape. Fits in a pocket. Awkward but fits.

Edit: I have a gen 1 so measure before you buy.

I can't leave mine out to charge so I charge it in a pelican case with a battery pack> I've been trying to get someone to 3d print a cradle for me so it aligns perfectly every time. I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant that I use the MFLB finishing grinder to grind the flowers for my PAX 1. The MFLB finishing grinder is similar to a cheese grater, and grinds the buds to a VERY fine grade that isn't achievable with a normal 2 or 4 piece grinder. Highly recommended for any PAX user.

yeah, I ended up using it twice. It still functions fine and temp is good, it's just it feels like the fuzziness is killing the drag and not allowing smoke to come out well

Its not exactly the coolest accessory, but an important one nonetheless. For cleaning purposes this works great. It has small brushes for the mouthpiece that you can use instead of those disposable dental brushes like most people suggest, and larger bruses for the vapor path.

Doob Tube and Sandwich Pack - Keep your grounds in the tube, then spin the tube lightly to pour it out. Use the Pusher to pack down until you have enough. Put the lid on and Pax!

Yeah its awesome ! I just dump my AVB in one end and I got my bud in the other I like the natural look of it and its real wood holds 8 ounces in each side

FYI, they already make a silicone type sleeve. Here. I prefer the feel of a naked PAX myself, but I rarely use mine out of the house.
