An ESP8266 is a WiFi Development Board (used in electronics projects mostly, like for Arduino) that people use for hosting web-based exploits (like the PS4 Jailbreaks) since it allows you to self-host the website on the device itself which is more portable, more reliable, and doesn't require any internet connection.
Basically you flash this exploit host to the board via your PC, then all you have to do is plug it into power via the micro-USB port on the board and then you're able to log into the WiFi network created by the device on your PS4 and run the exploit.
god of war 1 and 2 had a bug of bugs and glitches back in the day. however i do feel as though devs have gotten complacent with day 1 patches to the point of fixing games up quite a lot rather than releasing a pretty solid and stable product.
edit: https://kotaku.com/see-what-a-differece-a-day-one-patch-makes-1649069692 its insane that evil within was able to pass QA and brought to market with this kind of performance and woes.
From what I've read, unless its an official port the only other option is running linux and installing RPCS3 https://rpcs3.net/. I'm not an expert on this but my understanding is the framework for PS3 games was supposedly pretty wonky making it nearly impossible to do a direct port on PS4.
I would really like to see this, plus, it'd be super simple. just download the latest AppImage: https://rpcs3.net/download
chmod it
chmod a+x ./rpcs3-*_linux64.AppImage
and run. Jaguar supports SSSE3, 8 GB of GDDR3 RAM should be enough.
Of course it won't run Persona 5 at full speed, but maybe something like Arkedo could run at playable speeds.
Yes, it will work on many emmulators, you can use ds4windows to remap the controller to an Xbox controller for more support or to remap it directly to keyboard keys you can use to control any emulator. A trick I have is that you can add the emulator to your steam game library and in that way you will be able to configure any controller for the emulator on steam big screen mode
But in the most part ds4windows should work perfectly
Any game made after about April of this year is unplayable on 5.05. Just find out the date for the games, and you will know. There's no really complete list of minimum required firmware, but there are a few that aren't particularly maintained so the fastest/easiest way is to just check Wikipedia (or some game site, IGDB for instance) for the release date.
I have a post that describes in detail how I usually do it, I am going to try and find it and link it. The gist of it is that I use Metacritic and list them by date. Let me get back to you though.
So you can run linux on ps4 right? (Havent been following the hombrew).
Barebone linux distro for kodi, install would be identical to any other linux distro. So want to send 50 dollars through paypal?
Whose talking about a shitty firestick? I’m talking about the FireTV, which is a stand-alone box and yes it’s way better than the Pi 3, which I also have.
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Previous-Generation/dp/B00CX5P8FC
8TB is the max, but you can use both an internal and external setup to theoretically get up to 16TB if you use one of those weird adapters that lets you plug a 3.5inch drive into the internal bay.
Like so: https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Data-Bank-Plus-Enclosure-PlayStation/dp/B01MQ62EZ4
I frankly wouldn't do that, I'd just throw in an SSD if it was a PS4 PRO or a 2tb firecuda if it was a slim or regular. Only the PRO really benefits from the internal drive being an SSD. :(
It's very uncomfortable but, for example on Gnome, you can enable "Mouse Keys" under "Universal Access".
Anyway, did you tried to search with Google/Bing? One of the first hit is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stripe1.xmouse
Time to do maintenance, replace thermal pads and thermal paste.
Try following an ifixit video like this https://youtu.be/QFZYk7guDqQ
Get the thermal grizzly pads as well, do the vrms as well as the gpu (I think they only show gpu in this video). Any paste is fine don't get hung up on it.
You need:
Pads Paste Screwdriver kit like this https://www.amazon.com/Small-Screwdriver-Set-Mini-Magnetic/dp/B08RYXKJW9
Easy takes a couple of hours
You mean beside the tip I already gave that you haven't made use of?
If you're not booting into the OS, then you can't download an update file, so nothing to worry about. Or if one was already downloaded, you can't tell it to install.
I bought this 2TB SSD for $150, it's a solid replacement. You don't need the fastest SSD as there is still a data bottleneck even in the PS4 Pro but it definitely is a noticeable difference.
LEVEN SSD 2TB 3D NAND QLC SATA III Internal Solid State Drive - 6 Gb/s, 2.5 inch /7mm (0.28") - up to 560MB/s - Compatible with Laptop & PC Desktop - Retail 1 Pack - (JS600SSD2TB) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M97SLRP/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_CCXGB5KGNP8D6AKQENY6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Huh, it must have finally expired or something. Luckily I had it downloaded already so I could reupload it myself.

Gonna have to use the binloader payload and send over the appdumper.bin file yourself to the PS4 IP and port. the netcatgui program if you're on windows works for this.
Here's the zip of 9.0 payloads https://anonfiles.com/B0KcFd09vd
Updated for 9.00 payloads for those that don't have them yet. https://anonfiles.com/B0KcFd09vd
You only need the binloader to run hen, once its running you can use alazif's payload guest app to run any other payload you may need without needing to run the exploit again.
You're probably right in it taking a few years for 7.02, but if you want you can join our discord. We will '@everyone' when something major like a new exploit is released. Who knows? Maybe you will get lucky.
I'm not sure if the OG or slim have a USB 3 port. I'm running a pro with the USB 3 in the back. I load the JB from a flash drive, then Linux from an ssd (this might help: UGREEN USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S8MQVRZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
And since my model lacks wifi/ethernet/bt, I use this Internet access (Plugable USB to Ethernet Adapter,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AQM8586?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) but I had to get someone to modify one of the Linux boot files to enable it on my setup.
Brought this specifically for the 9.00 JB. Works a treat. Each port has its own on/off button. So once you load the jailbreak you can turn off that USB stick until the next time you need to load it.

I didn't tested this since I'm on 5.05, but, I have seen one that the comments suggest that it's indeed cutting both data and power:
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00RC1NFEI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A1R8T489GK4NXT&psc=1
This one could be coupled with an usb extender if needed, and I'm pretty sure there are more that does have a cable extension and do cut data and power, just need to read the comments and see if there is confirmation.
First of all, not all PS3 games will run and those which will run will run with lag, so don't get your hopes up. First you need to jailbreak your PS4 then load the 1GB Linux payload, after installing linux (which i'm gonna tell you how to since it's a long process) Just load it and install RPCS3 Emulator and the firmware file for the PS3. Then just load your dumped games in the emulator. Also theres a video by DEX TECH PRO, which is highly recommended your watch, Hopefully I helped you out.
Ok.i did find something while I was waiting for your reply. It might be better than a tethered phone if I'm honest.
Yea the Edimax device was brought over 12 years ago, for a different purpose. That was a long shot.
However saying that. Would you know offhand, if I tethered my phone to the PS4 and managed to get online, any idea if there's some kind of automatic driver update tool for Linux? If it's possible for Linux to find and install working drivers for the ps4's Lan/BT etc, I'd be up for that. If not I'm looking into this or something similar: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AQM8586/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_RVR7T86CWQPV55HS2JTV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You have to use old remote play version and patch it.. just uninstall your version and try with 1.0.0.15181 - Hash : 694659629815D82CDCD62A95FA771237 1.5.0.8251 - Hash : 53DF9F442EEC309D95BE88D28CC21E18 2.0.0.2211 - Hash : FCD0DD66996B399F6A1A9A254F7E85B3 2.6.0.2270 - Hash : 2E4C4CA5ECFD3138CB734ED603958A1 these versions For patching above version follow https://github.com/MysteryDash/Offline-PS4-Remote-Play/blob/master/README.md
Version i used must be this http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Remote-Utils/PS4-Remote-Play.shtml
And you have to uninstall remote play application u used, delete any folder it created, reboot pc and instal above version and use mystery patch
I don't have any benchmarks or anything but it is well known that the PS4 is heavily GPU weighted (it has weak, low-power CPU cores). It is also widely known that it is basically an 8 core Jaguar based APU with Radeon 7870 based graphics and 8GB GDDR5. The PS4 Pro is nearly identical, with around twice the graphics horsepower. There are Die Shot's available online and it has been thoroughly studied. I would venture to say this kind of configuration is really only practical for systems with custom Operating Systems and is the de facto standard for Video Game Consoles since at least the WiiU.
I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but you can assume that when Linux is fully optimized it's going to be roughly equivalent to a mid-low end gaming rig, that is significantly hobbled by its lack of Windows games.
If you were going to buy a brand new PS4 you would likely be much better off building a PC, but I think because of it's wide second-hand availability it would be an excellent contender for HTPC/Light gaming, and with recent developments in Steams windows/linux compatibility layer (I don't know anything about it, ~~I can't recall even the name of the project~~ NM, it's called Proton) things may be looking slightly better for Windows games on Linux.
To add to what u/IrishMassacre3 said, Pac-Man World 2 is available for PS2. If you do have a hackable PS4 you could use the PS2 Classics GUI to convert a legally acquired backup to use with the PS4's built-in PlayStation 2 backwards compatibility. PS4 RetroArch was announced earlier this year, but it hasn't been released yet. So hopefully that will open up some more options soon.
Have you checked through like arcade classics compilation discs etc to see if there has been a re-release or something?
Hey, thanks for the reply.
I accidentally posted the wrong link, here is the link.
I guess you are right. 7108b could possibly be that.
Okay, to clear things up a little bit...
1- It does work with PC using the tutorial from @kiru2488.
2- It does work on Android by using magisk, I have just installed it and it works great. Please refer to https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-ps-remote-play-enabler-t3575876/page28?nocache=1 for more info on how to use it.
3- If you use the Update Blocker + the primary and secondary DNS from Al-Azif you should be fine connecting to the internet. In fact, for me it did not work without activating the network once the code was given from the IDU mode. I had to go back to settings, network, activate, then back to remote play, add device and get the PIN code.
Yes, there is distributions available specifically for devices like Raspberry Pi (LibreELEC, OpenELEC). I used to use my raspberry pi for Kodi almost exclusively. If you manage to get everything ironed out with your Emulators and Kodi plug-ins, I find it a really good experience. It's just not plug and play like some of the emulator-focused distro's people are using on the Pi (like Lakka, etc).
You can already play Steam games under Linux on the PS4, there's a lot of optimization work left though. Steam has their own Linux distribution that I quite liked when I tried it (briefly) that's another possibility that I am hoping to see soon.
People have demoed GameCube in the past few days running on PS4 Linux. The PS4's main CPU cores are not exactly powerhouses, it's a GPU weighted machine so I guess any emulators that rely heavily on CPU performance will struggle. I doubt it is anything that couldn't benefit greatly from optimization, but whether it happens is another thing.
Try this. Turn off and unplug the ps4. Hold the power button for 30 seconds to empty the capacitors and clear the cache. Plug it back in and turn it on. Just wait in the menu for 2 minutes. Download this on your computer: https://www.mirrored.to/files/1GJMZHJF/ I think the instructions are included in there, if not then see this page: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-x-project-5-05-self-host.512046/ Follow the instructions, run it through the dns user guide method. It should cache automatically, run hen 2.1.1, press the ps button, wait 2 minutes in the menu, then you can do whatever you want. I recommend turning off all internet settings in your ps4 right after running hen and waiting 2 minutes. Always use rest mode instead of turning off completely, so that the hen stays in effect, you don't have to run it every time you turn on and you don't have to wait for 2 minutes. This is exactly what I do and it works for me, no crashes, no data loss. I have a ps4 pro, boost mode enabled, internet setting all off, rest mode power settings all off except keep apps suspended. I never keep anything plugged into USB ports except when I install games from an external hdd. I charge my controllers through a phone charger. All these things are said to have something to do with crashes.
Have you ever written any webpages from scratch? I would suggest visiting one of the current pages and examining them with developers options enabled or opening the page in an editor such as LightTable
i live in the uk and for quite some time Ebay has been a bit dodgy,
Examples, new pages have been coming up for "jailbroken ps4s" but with really old reviews
and when i click on the sellers profile the reviews dont come up there
I could use Amazon, but the downside is I don't know how long that PS4 has been sitting there or whatever (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YM1VZLR/?coliid=IXN9DAEWXG8F&colid=2HIIRRZZHVZ05&psc=0&ref\_=lv\_ov\_lig\_dp\_it)
So uhh could i get a bit of help on this, im prolly going to get humiliated but yknow, worth a shot
Anyone out there managed to get hold of the Wemos NodeMCU V3 WIFI MI ESP8266 with 32M Flash, supplied with loose Pin Headers(a real bonus), and/or have knowledge of any supplier that have a stock-holding (not just a promise of awaiting stock, or 'hoping to ship in the next 21 days etc' or the like, and then the subsequent let down when delivery does in fact fail!) Want to try my sketch in one of these units, currently running the WEMOS Mini Pro piggy-backed with a Buffered MicroSD Mount with 8GB SDHC. Any info will oblige!
There is an Android app which uses the old API as well - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dna.PSStore
You can still find, sort and filter PS3, PS Vita, PSP games, themes and stuff.
Neat.
Pair this with something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.termux.widget
To make it more easily executable?
I might write something soon for this, it'd be nice to have an option to save ps4 IP, and add multiple locations for PKGs (local+network), just hit the widget script, it brings up a list of PKGs in your added folders, pick one and install.

I bought it new from the 3rd party seller Holiday Electronics Deal. The other one I bought from TRENDY-TECH came with 7.02. Good luck!
that is an excellent question. I am using this sensor bar:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HZWEB74/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which is working with both motion plus and standard wiimotes. I can connect multiple even.
I would also like to share my gamecube controller is working in dolphin as well!
You need to be careful. You'll need to find a hard drive that's less than 0.9cm in depth, otherwise it won't fit into the PS4 without modifying the drive bay.
As it stands, the max size for a drive that fits those specfications is 2TB. Here's one I purchased, but it's only 2TB. Anything more, and you'll probably need an external drive :

Unless of course, you go with the more expensive SSD option.
>extensions
No its just a normal external Harddrive connected with usb cable
I have this one https://www.amazon.com/20TB-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBFBE0200JBK-NESN/dp/B074R34DD3
The Package Installer Payload is Almost released (will be by the end of the day)!

but in the mean time download the New Update via Google Play Store

Get some Sugru moldable glue and mold it around the charger port with the cord in it. Let it dry and you're set. Don't use a cheap cord in case it stops working correctly. Amazon
and this one: PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB Console ?

I recommend that in case you feel like switching. Most external hdds can be converted to internals in case you feel like switching. This adds the ability to add an internal 4tb to the ps4 like i did. Ps4 only supports 2tbs due to size but this adapter lets you upgrade more. I prefer it over app2usb.
I ordered one of these and so far it looks to be working pretty well for keeping things cool, sounds a bit noisy if the system isn't running loud but when you're playing something like GoW or HZD it's about the same lvl
I have dumped games too/ installed games from my external 500gb and 6tb HDDs no problem.
My biggest issues with external HDDs have been caused by faulty controller cards (what converts the sata connection to USB) I have tested this theory and basically came to the conclusion that 90% of the time when people think they have a bad or failing HDD its really the controller card going out.
So my advice would be to use this - ( Sabrent USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-DFLT) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LS5NFQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0WvfBb0RKDH71) - hard drive caddy since I can personally vouch that it works with the ps4 and it's actually just nice in general. Also I use WD hard drives.
Thank you! I have seen the size of the games I want to have and my 500gb has space for plenty of them (+10), so I found this drive for 30$, I think it´s a great deal, right?
