Basically outside of being able to show your ip as from another place, it's just like a proxy. It shows you as somewhere else, and hides your info from anyone tracking it online, thus making your online identiy harder to track.

ExpressVPN is really easy and works very well with minimal interruptions, but it does cost $12 a month. if money isn't an issue I would go with League Pass plus ExpressVPN. however, you will not be able to watch nationally broadcast games with league pass due to blackout restrictions. a workaround for this is using a friend/family member's cable login to use WatchESPN or WatchTNT. the only part where there is not a workaround is the games on NBA TV as there is not a live streaming option through a cable provider nor are the games on league pass. good luck!
