Actually you do have recollections of your past lives and it is accessible through hypnotherapy. Dolores Cannon has done past life regression work on many people and written books of the unbelievable things people have said once they become hypnotized and go into past life regression. I encourage you to look into this if you don't believe me.
Of course, I'm not saying I came out into elementary school and high school knowing these things. No I had to research and read tons of books and meditate and write and see if these things genuinely make sense. But when you spend your life researching these things and getting into esoteric ideas it is easy to look like a looney to someone who doesn't know anything about these things and is still in there pre-concieved world view. I was once there too, and once I got drove to the point of suicide, I had to start searching for God.
Happy birthday. I suggest starting the day off with meditation. You say you plan to spend the entire day solo, but also want to start in the "most connected way possible". By "connected", do you mean socially, spiritually or...? In any case, meditation can put you in a better, more present state of awareness for everthing that comes after. I would add to that a daily practice of gratitude for the countless things, large and small, that we take for granted. This will certainly connect you more deeply with the One consciousness, the universe and all life in it. As for socially connected activities, I recommend meetup.com to find activities of like-minded people in your area. There are lots of spiritually-oriented groups in my area.
Paradoxically, Waking Up by Sam Harris. I had this empty feeling inside me being a stone cold atheist for most of my life. That book torpedoed me into spirituality. It described what I felt all along but, I know how this sounds, confirmed my inner truth.
Three years later I'm a happy spiritualist who has gone back to my roots of exploring the unknown. As I've heard someone who is a favorite of mine, "Religion (spirituality) is not something that can be measured by science because science studies the physical world and has no place in Religion." - roughly speaking, Jordan Peterson.

>Is there not reason to believe that many of the Laws of the Spiritual World, hitherto regarded as occupying an entirely separate province, are simply the Laws of the Natural World? —Henry Drummond
>
>Using spiritual experience to explain scientific principles, New Thought pioneer Henry Drummond’s provocative essays demonstrate the direct connection between spiritual law and natural law to introduce a worldview unbound by conventional thought. Today his groundbreaking observations are as relevant as ever, and in One Law, Dr. Ruth Miller incorporates the modern laws of physics, biology, cybernetics, and ecology with Drummond’s original essays to decode the spiritual realm.

>Bridge the gap between science and spirituality and forever change the way you see the world by rediscovering Drummond’s provocative theory that natural law and spiritual law are one and the same.
find a place that can be quiet for at least 10 mins, set an intention in your mind - which is really just what you what to focus on this meditation session, can be just as simple as the intention to just exist in the moment this session since it’s the beginning of your journey.
then for the next 10 mins, breathe. in hale and exhale. and try to focus your mind on feeling everything involved with breathing in and out.
how your chest or gut moves - btw proper form is breathing through your stomach, not chest, if your shoulders are moving you need to adjust to pushing out from your diaphragm. your body will thank you. focus on what it feels like for the air to go in and out your nose, try to feel the hairs move lol
basically you’re trying to connect with your self, life, this moment right now, mind, body, spirit kinda thing. slow your perception of time down, bring your body to a calm state.
i recommend sitting in a chair or sitting position for newbies (and non newbies honestly) cause if you do it right, your body will definitely calm and you might go right past meditation state and go to sleep, very common when you’re starting out.
that’s all you really need to get started honestly. mediation is the easiest activity to get started in, cost $0 to do it and the benefits are literally life changing.
if you are itching for some in-depth resources, get the book the Mind Illuminated, it’s really all you need.

No need to give up your sexuality. I would suggest looking into the science of karezza. This book, Cupid's Poison Arrow by Marnia Robinson has been a complete paradigm shift for me.
The book dives into the two main reasons for having sex – either for bonding (karezza) or for procreation (sex with orgasm as the end goal). It hits hard on how orgasms lock us into a neurochemical cascade of dopamine-triggered addictive patterns and wanting more of them – aka being controlled by your sex drive.
According to the research, orgasms have biological consequences that encourage our primitive sex drive and negatively affect the ways we view our partner. Whereas taking a gentler, more loving approach to sex (where orgasm isn't the end-game) can strengthen our partnerships.
I don't see many people talk about this stuff, but it's allowed me to understand how we can essentially biohack our primal instincts and approach sex from a more spiritual perspective.
I would recommend the book Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins. Here on Amazon (audio, hard/soft cover/digital). Letting do explains in detail how to give up your attachments and aversions to feelings to help you along your spiritual path. A Course In Miracles, the workbook specifically might be another book to consider. ACIM book
God bless you.
sure... I will be mostly playing catch up. I'm trying to document my process. Who knows what it will turn into. Tell me where yours is, k?
I really did just start. It's also been quite a while since I was writing regularly... wish I knew I was going to knock socks off, but I'm clearly just finding my feet again.
That’s good advice! Dancing is used as therapeutic movement meditation by many. It’s cathartic, and dispels extra energy. You can also visualize the negative psychic gunk and stress shaking off of you like drops of water while you dance.
Binaural beats are great too— I can imagine listening to them as a cool-down after dancing could be really effective. There are plenty to be found on YouTube, but if you want a site where you can tweak the sound a bit I highly recommend mynoise’s binaural beat generator.
I can offer you where I got the idea from, Future Thinker's podcast where they interview Vinay Gupta, a really hardcore guy with tons of experience in meditation aaand disaster logistics, like refugees and stuff. Not a guru, nope. He actually talks about the topic too. It had lots of now insights I needed and he has my respect.
Seems you're growing your perspective towards enlightment yep. Never been there so I'll leave it to Vinay Gupta, who I trust on the topic.
Thanks for sharing.
I believe Jesus, the famous man that was one of many blessed with Christ Consciousness, wasn't evil. He was connected to Source. Many of the scriptures (the ones we were allowed to have) show this. I think the evil part happened much after he died. They twisted his words and left out most of them. The book, the bible, is really the part that's been manipulated.
I also, I believe in what most people call Karma. In the last seven months, my life has improved drastically. I receive love from the universe on a scale I've never experienced before. There are so many people in my life now that love me that weren't there seven months ago. What happened? I changed drastically. This thing happened to me and now I emit love. I emit a lot of love. What I am experiencing is that love coming back to me.
I believe the amount of love we receive is always equal to the amount of love we emit. The "justice" aspect (if you really want justice) comes to those that do not emit any love. They emit negativity instead and that negativity comes back to them as well. I cry for those people because they are just a small step away from a wonderful life but they are in a prison that they have made without their knowledge.
Anyway, I'm getting vibe that you're just not liking what I'm putting down. It's good though. I love you, friend.

I suffered terrible anxiety, addictions. Spiritual and emotional growth, Developing the non-rational aspects of myself has completely changed, healed and redirected my life. The mind is an organ, Like the liver, heart or large intestine. It has its purpose, but the liver cannot digest food and the large intestine cannot pump blood. The mind generates thoughts, but the rational mind is limited and cannot understand the larger Consciousness system in which we live. But our spirit and are feeling self, the non-rational aspects of being human, are where that deeper wisdom understanding lives.
I’m happy to offer some one on one sessions with you but I do charge for them, as this is my work. I call it Spiritual Psi-Kology.

I'd say both paths are equally difficult, but it really depends on the individual and the history and desires that form that individual. The realization that we're all one is indeed critical to any path to enlightenment. Integration is a new path that is available after 2012 now that the Earth has chosen to graduate to become a fourth density positive planet (Gaia) as we enter into the New Age.
This book is a good place to start if you are interested in learning more about integration: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1539080013/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_RNHeGbX5TZ3T8

Then intuition will tell you what page to open. This is your answer. It's kind of like tarot cards
Thank you! But my complete thanks has to go to our creator who had, through this author, released a book on how to completely heal deeper traumas from past lifetimes. The ego is the person you take yourself to be, but it is actually a belief system and does not actually exist. The answer is explained in great detail in this book:
I just finished The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad-Boy Brother Proved to Me There's Life After Death. Quick read. Easy read.
People can find happiness (or not) in all kinds of circumstances.
Viktor Frankl (Man's Search for Meaning) has a lot to say on the subject. The guy survived a nazi concentration camp, and witnessed how people with some specific attributes seemed to get through that better than others. He devoted many years to the exploration of this phenomenon.
> I want all the shitty parts of my life to have a point. Otherwise I don't want to keep existing at all.
Again, I can't recommend Man's Search for Meaning enough, especially given this comment you made. Here's a quote from the book:
> Suffering in and of itself is meaningless; we give our suffering meaning by the way in which we respond to it.
I think, first and foremost, that meaning is projected onto reality, not intrinsic to it. I also think there is a bigger picture that we are unable to see--not in the Christian sense of God "having a plan," but rather that the Cosmos itself has certain functions and conforms to certain patterns we have only recently begun to discover, let alone understand. In some ways I think our ancestors knew more about these things than we do now, but that's a different topic altogether.
Returning to the issue of necessary (or good) suffering, I think that only a tiny fraction of the suffering we humans experience fits into this category. For instance, the loss of a loved one: that is necessary and, if we look at it the right way, "good" suffering. Because it is the shadow-side of the love you have for that person--while they were alive, you loved them intensely for many years, and it is because of this love that their passing causes you to suffer with equal intensity. To me, this kind of suffering is necessary, part of the deal. If you open yourself up to love, you open yourself up to suffering as well. Can't have one without the other.
As Khalil Gibran wrote,
> When love beckons to you, follow him, Though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you yield to him, Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
I use the practices in the following 2 books throughout the day... The Power Of Now By Eckhart Tolle (I recommend the audiobook, I found the written version boring), and Come To Your Senses By Stanley H Block, Carolyn Block
Also, this... Loving-Kindness meditation and prayer.
I can't emphasize enough how important loving-kindness prayer practice has been, for getting me out of being so obessed with my own story. Self absorption is a large magnet for keeping you in your head, IME.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is another one of my favorites :) I'm glad you started reading Ami! I just found the third in english like 15 minutes ago and am now reading that... :D Let me know what you think!
Great that you are starting!
I think that mindfulness and mindful activity is a good start (at least it was for me). It allowed me to really recognize myself, the world around me, and everything in between. I would recommend two things to start: 1) Yoga. If you're not a physical person, it may not 100% be for you. but there are some great youtube resources. Erin Motz 30 day yoga challenge - highly accessible 15-20 minute sessions; 2) Thich Nhat Hanh's book "Peace is Every Step." It's all about mindfulness (sort of like meditation, just all about living in the present moment) and how we can be mindful in everyday life.
I believe these to be two great initial steps on your journey. There's obviously more to be done, but i have found starting out easily, opposed to diving in and getting overwhelmed/ losing accountability, is the best way to go about it. LMK if you have any questions or want tips.
How about a book on mediation? Try Waking Up by Sam Harris, that'll start you down the path. Use his guided meditation on youtube, that'll help you get the ball rolling.
Couple words of advice. I'll be brief.
Be brutally honest with yourself. Look for what is real, not what you want to be real. If you're seeking the truth it'll lead you to some places where you'll have to face very dark and unpleasant things about yourself and the world in general.
Be open, yet discriminating. This is tough. Ideas and paths will reveal themselves to you, if you see something there go ahead and explore it, but be ever vigilant in the constant testing of the ideas and whether they map onto reality or not. If you are honest, your gut will let you know when something is deceptive.
Good luck.
You accept that those emotions and thoughts are automatic - you really can't control them or block them. That's what I mean by dropping resistance. Once you let go and stop trying to rid yourself of those thoughts/emotions, they still might come up, but you stop perpetuating them through your resistance. They will just come and go; the feeling is not unlike ocean waves.
And it's no good to "try" to drop your resistance; that's just more resistance sneaking in. It's really a matter of non-effort; stopping your "involvement" in those thoughts and emotions is key. It's a cliche, but deep breathing and relaxing your body are very helpful in this.
If you haven't already you should try reading some spiritual-type books. I suggest "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle, "At Home In the Muddy Water" by Ezra Bayda and "Wherever You Go, There You Are" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. YouTube also has some good videos by Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass and others worth watching.

You can be awake and aware ABOVE the merely mental. You can try this now. If you can hold in wordless awakening for 17 seconds or longer, this is a spiritual exercise from the crazy wisdom masters of the 1950s. Worked for me.

Here's a book on pre-birth life planning:
https://www.amazon.com/Your-Souls-Plan-Robert-Schwartz-audiobook/dp/B00W874RW0
It's really good. It's a collection of the author interviewing channels and how people give their life more meaning and peace when they believe certain challenges in their life were actually a pre-birth intention.
You haven't lost your mind yet, but if you go around thinking you have superpowers, it might just be a matter of time. Practice humility, test your hypotheses. Learn to tie rocks to clouds.
This is ancient western alchemy. The secrets were long lost. Basically you're working with the five elements: fire, earth, air, water, and ether. Watching and dissolving the sensations in the body is the quickest and most direct way to purify the elements, metaphysically transmuting them into Gold, aka: the One true God. I simplify, because I'm old and weary of explaining the mechanics of the whole process. What's important is to master the meditation of watching sensations, for what awakens "knows". You are a God, albeit asleep, and when awake you know everything you need to know. God is not stupid. When controlled by the ego he is stupid beyond measure. Keep it simple: when you feel "off", look in the body to find what, in actual reality, you are feeling. Once found, separate and simply observe it neither for nor against. The ego will constantly distract you with the old narrative in your head, when you realize you're off the sensation simply move your awareness back and watch. This meditation will dissolve everything separating you from your enlightenment. There is a book, useful as a guide on this journey: https://www.amazon.com/Awakening-Anurag-Shantam/dp/160864006X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2PCBK55V2AFOL&keywords=awakening+anurag+shantam&qid=1667656248&s=books&sprefix=awakening+anurag+shantam%2Cstripbooks%2C120&sr=1-1

The Crack in the Cosmic Egg is in part multiple things can be true simultaneously because each truth exists on its own frequency level. Best map of frequencies I know is the PACME model promoted by John-Roger and other Light and Sound groups:

i really think it will skip a lot of confusion by starting with this. then you can go read other stuff without any risk of confusing the finger for the moon.
Yes, I understand this feeling of not belonging all too well. For spiritually-oriented people, this is partly because there are few people in our life where we can openly speak about our experiences or even understand them. Then we may spend a lot of time finding "others like myself" by going from one community to another.
For me, finding a sense of belonging is essentially about coming home to myself. The question is: do you feel that you belong within yourself? Also, it might be helpful to reflect on when was the last time you felt a sense of belonging, however brief. What gives you a sense of belonging? The details of that circumstance may bring some helpful insights. Perhaps home is not a physical location in space/time, but a recognition of one's inner being, and being intimate with our own sense of existence.
A book you might want to check out is Belonging Here by Judith Blackstone. In the book, she talks about the common challenges that spiritually-sensitive people experience and how inhabiting the body can help them feel at home within themselves and in the world.
Tantra Illuminated by Christopher Wallisis really practical and grounded. Everytime I read it I go a little deeper than before into my practice.
this one should help defend against the classic mistake everyone makes when reading the tao te ching and other spiritual texts: confusing the finger for the moon.
> what are we meant to do?
this, of course.
> how am i meant to level up?
you say "i am already leveled up, and this is what that looks like."

Same thing with Christianity and all the other religions. Once you know the reality of them past the blind belief, like where they started, why, by whom and why they persist it helps to go "Oh I see now."
The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell is a fascinating exploration of the many mythologies of the world and shows their remarkable similarities, including Christianity.
As we grow and evolve spiritually, it is natural to outgrow old systems that are limited to make way for new, larger ones, like a snake shreds skin. Painful as this can be, especially if the systems forbid or Shame or create fear for those who leave, the leaving and search for something more nourishing and aligned is part of the growth process.
Individuation is part of our souls journey, when we meet the Divine God and Goddess alone, as their beloved child. This is the path of the mystic, the direct path to the One who is many and all things.
Mystic Islam is profound. The work of Hazrat Inyat Khan is amazing, if you are interested in the next phase of Islam. Understandable if you need to break completely from that path. I Love the suggestions around Buddhism, as that is a path that is easy to find.
My own practice is with nature as the doorway to Spirit, a blend of Buddhism, Shamanism and body centered mindfulness. Here’s a link to my work that has guided audio inner journeys to connect with higher consciousness in nature and within yourself.

Though I don't follow it as a path I have found A Course in Miracles forgiveness exercises work well, to my very great surprise! If you look into that I would think you would find it very helpful.
To get a good understanding of the Course I would very much also recommend reading The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard — I found that very helpful when I was studying the Course of a while.
If you try the forgiveness exercises I am sure you will be able to let go of your one-time friend without harbouring resentment.
Alain Forget How to Get Out of this World Alive
Kind of picks up where Eckhart Tolle left off (and, yes, I am a great fan of Eckhart too). It has some remarkable stuff about the soul, how you actually manage to develop one, and what happens after death. Well worth working with.
this one is clearly the best.
I faced a massive life challenge last week which would knock anyone for six.
Even though I've been meditating for 30 years and have done a great deal of
consciousness exploration this event left me believing I was powerless. A colleague that I have known for many years has a very particular, and from my perspective rather peculiar energising and deeply spiriutal technique and he gave me a one to one healing session.
All I can say is WOW it was absolutely incredible.
I studied at the Monroe institute in my youth when it was still run by military personal.
(there is a now released CIA document on the net about Monroe's Gateway Program.)
It was good, very good indeed and I did several programs before becoming a facilitaor
However, this technique that Trevor Hamlett has developed is much more powerful and it really did give me a massive spiritual whack round the head, rebalanced me and got me up and running.
I do not share my of Trevors beliefs but this does not matter at all
What I do know, through this experience is that his energy transmission healing WORKS
He's got a course coming up...Trevor is going places with this...its 21st century spiritual healing at its very best and I highly recommend it.

> the Christian view of Jesus isn’t the view Jesus had of himself
massively agree here. it's painfully obvious to me that jesus's message has been unbelievably twisted by the texts and churches into the polar opposite of what he was trying to communicate, to a comical level. they actively undermine what jesus was clearly saying from my perspective.
everyone always confuses the finger for the moon. one of my favourite alan watts quotes is "jesus was not the man he was as a result of making jesus christ his personal savior." so if you really want to follow his lead, you would not need him to save you. you'd see that you are ALREADY saved. to me, jesus was clearly saying "i am god... AND SO ARE YOU," but we forget that last part.
i wrote a book about what i am certain jesus was trying to say, but people will probably confuse that finger for the moon too.
totally tooting my own horn here, but my book was written with the express intent of being as plain language and practical as possible.
you have this assumption that reading more books will advance you on the path, but i believe strongly that the books are actually an OBSTACLE in the way of seeing what i consider to be enlightenment. one of the key messages of my book is that the answer isn't in my book (or any book). there is no "advancing." you already have it. you can't take any steps to get you closer to here.
the only thing preventing you from meditating is your belief that you can't. all of the answers are in you already, so they can't really come from me, but i can try to point you in the general direction of them.
A book that helped me come into being able to manipulate my own energy way beyond what I already could do was The psychic healing book outside of increasing my confidence and abilities it showed me how to turn down my energy centers and stop absorbing others intentions or energy. This has been crucial for me almost as much as the self healing I’ve used from it if not event more valuable. Check it out it if you feel like it’s something that may help.
Also keep in mind that most energy practices including Wicca, shamanism, voodoo and witchcraft all center around your belief in the practice and intent. And they All abide by free will. Knowing this is like a extra set of armor. It’s even broken down in the healing book as no matter how good of a healer you are some people can’t be healed. It either because they object to it subconsciously or on a soul level. Some people need that illness and we can’t break free will by healing someone who on some level doesn’t want to be healed.
Most people are vulnerable to things of this nature simply because they aren’t aware of this unbreakable rule.

Thank you so much, I recommend the book I’m currently reading ‘Divine mania in ancient Greece’ it’s a bit academic but I still found it fine to read. https://www.amazon.com.au/Divine-Mania-Alteration-Consciousness-Ancient-ebook/dp/B076HBB4GS/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1657766018&sr=8-4
You clearly already "get it" from my perspective, but you're just not satisfied with the answer yet. Like you get it, but you don't really see it on a deeper level yet.
the problem is in the looking itself, because the very act is an assumption that you don't already have it (which you kinda already know you do), so now you're a walking contradiction. The fact that you see that the answer aint in any books is leagues ahead of most peoples' understandings, but the trap is that now you think the answer is that the answer isn't in any books (which you've read in a book), so you've confused the finger for the moon again.
It gets pretty confusing, and i wrote a book that might help flesh out that last 10% of the conceptual side to really allow you to see it more clearly, but you already know it aint in there. trust that you already have it. Not having it IS having it. Obviously.
Consider reading one more book: Who Am I by Ramana Maharshi.
It's very short, only costs a few bucks, and focuses on a very simple technique for coming into more awareness called "self-inquiry."
I think if you focus on that approach, you will be good. The best answers come from within. The final answer always comes from within. Which may be reflected by the "outside" world, of course (of course at this juncture you'll probably realize it's a false dichotomy, "within" and "outside").
Amen. The death and resurrection of Christ Jesus is undeniable if you look at the facts. For those who are interested read The Case for Christ. And watch the movie, too. And if you read the Bible it's pretty clear that Christ is God, which makes everyone else a false prophet. And for the skeptics out there that say that it's a circular reference claiming that the Christ is God because the Bible says so should again do the research. Lee Stroble, a staunch atheist and journalist of the Chicago Tribute spent two years of his life trying to disprove the gospel using research based journalism after his wife became a believer. He finally conceded that there is zero evidence with any substantial depth and weight that disproves His divinity. In fact his research ultimately proved that He must be God. Again read his book. short version: it sounds like you're trying to optimize yourself through a self-improvement game that I call Game A. It tends to turn people into robots who are perpetually unsatisfied despite all of the improvement, because they're chasing a tomorrow that never comes. If your ultimate goal is to be healthy today, then the way to do that is to say "i'm healthy today, and this is what that looks like." boom. you're already there. you're already improved.
long version here
I've spent a lot of time thinking about how to put it into words (it's not easy). I've put it all in this book if you wanna know more :)
let me know if you'd prefer a voice or text chat
also, you may prefer some light reading
"i'm not good enough and i must improve" is a habit deeply set in the lives of just about everyone. you can break it at any time. just stop repeating that story (maybe start by deleting the above reddit post as a symbolic start of the new "i am good enough and i don't need to improve" habit.
if you want a more detailed breakdown of the "how," try this book (but you don't need it).
this book might help with both your mental health and spiritual desires.
this one will skip you straight from beginner to pro
Read “Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives” by Michael Newton, PhD.
Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives, Fifth Revised Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/1567184855/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_KWF5F4Y09CV5KBC7KXM6
He was a specialist in regression people in therapy to unravel trauma in childhood. Then he got into regressing people into the womb. One day, he accidentally regressed just before the womb. This book details case studies and f many people who didn’t know each other, each describing many similar experience of life between lives and reincarnation. Must read if you want some confidence.
I would caution you not to take it all literally. When we experience these states, the mind needs to create stories to make it all make sense. But it’s pretty compelling to suggestion ”something” is going on and that there is some sort of continuity of consciousness when we die.
It sounds like your house of cards has collapsed, and now you're experiencing the spiritual crisis that usually follows. You may be stuck in what I call "The Jungle," which is a pretty awful place to be.
I would not get so hung up on labels of whether something is "real" or not (what the heck do you even mean by that?). The experience you're currently having is as real as it gets from my perspective.
> redefining what things mean.
Drop. The. Labels. Things just are what they are. You don't need to define or redefine them for them to have meaning.
> I'm starting to regret even learning about this.
You won't when you come out the other side. I'm very confident that my book will resolve this crisis for you.
It's up to you if you want to follow such warnings. I personally have never had any strange side effects from practicing Kundalini Yoga. There are alarmists regarding this practice here and there. I can't tell you it's completely safe - all I can tell you is that I never had anything resembling some of the weirdness people out there have experienced.
Sadhguru is always saying blah blah blah always practice before a true guru. Some of us don't have this luxury. A home practice repeating is all I could afford. I honestly believe spiritual enlightenment isn't just for the geographically gifted (proximity to a guru), but believe it is available to all. Not everyone feels as he does. I've used Maya Fiennes for 8 years without a problem.
It's up to you. Educate yourself. You can also read reviews of her practice, as you can see, no one complaining about Kundalini syndrome, at least, I don't think. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001FC37FM#customerReviews
Light-boxes are great, and a camera obscura like the NeoLucida takes that next level.
You've got legitimate talent, keep working and bring that out!
I’m working on a similar path of healing with resolving some childhood trauma and the trauma of being in an abusive relationship when I was in college. Besides therapy, I’ve started learning more about somatic experiencing. I’m not on the other side of this yet but this seems to be more of a practical and hands on approach that might be of interest to you. I also felt frustrated about people saying “forgive” or “practice self care” which are very generic and not something I felt like would actually do anything to help. I wanted to DO something…like actionable. Although these are not quick fixes either, this approach is making sense to me right now. Maybe it’s a combination of things that will help you? I’ve been reading a lot, being mindful of walking and moving my body, and using positive mantras like “Universe, show me how much better it can be.” That’s what works for me.
Here are links to the Peter Levine book Healing Trauma and Byron Katie Loving What Is (not somatic experiencing but was a good read and I found it very helpful).
Most of what we call "learning" looks a lot more like unlearning to me.
> if we just play to evolve our play...
You're still trying to get somewhere. I'm saying we're already there. This is it. Not play to improve at anything. Just play.
> i feel like if i’m doing anything but yoga, sound healing, meditating, journaling, (those types of things), i’m being unproductive and falling back into the matrix.
Have you considered whether you might already be deep in the matrix of "spiritual progress."
We really need to abolish the notion of a "guilty pleasure." We should just call it pleasure.
> i feel like this way of thinking has really added to my depression and made me feel like i can’t do a lot of things i enjoy.
Sure looks like it has. So how do we break this pattern? Maybe your quest for constant progress has put an immense amount of weight on your shoulders. Maybe it's time to lighten the load and put down that weight. Maybe you're already improved, and always have been, and this is what that looks like. Now that you're already improved, you're free to do whatever gives you pleasure. Ironically, this path is very likely to lead you to a place that others would perceive as exceptionally improved.
Going to yoga because you want to improve doesn't sound very spiritually enlightened to me. Going to the gym because genuinely want to and enjoy that gym bod sounds way more spiritually healthy to me. Spirituality doesn't have to look like xyz because someone else said so. It can be whatever you want it to be.
I'm 99% sure you're having what I would call a Game A crisis; suck in the Matrix of "I'm not good enough and I must improve." If you want more info on how I see you getting out of this pattern, this ebook is free to download today and may provide a way out.
gonna pull a pretty annoying card and say it's kind of hard to explain in a comment like this.
i am confident that you might find a solid solution to this problem (and this habit of trying to improve everything) in here
> I really try to put in the work.
Maybe part of your problem is you're collapsing a bit under all of the pressure to perform all of that work, and just need a break.
You could give yourself permission to take a break, and not beat yourself up over some notion of lost progress.
You could also reframe all of those activities (eating well, going to the gym, etc.) as things you genuinely want to do instead of thinking of them as work. If you found exercise that you wanted to do as much as you currently want to eat cookies, then that would solve your problem, yes? Kids get great exercise by going to the playground, but they don't go because they're motivated to "put in the work." This is a problem with our culture that can be solved by undoing some of our conditioning.
> I don’t know how to get out of this rut
As long as you define yourself as being in a rut, then you'll remain in a rut. You saying "I'm in a rut" puts you in one. When you ask "how do I get out of this rut," I see it as impossible from this frame, since the question places you squarely in said rut. But we can change the frame and see if the picture changes. Start saying "I'm not in a rut" and watch what happens.
From my perspective, you've been doubling down on what I call Game A for a long time, and it's not working out. Deep down, you likely know there's something wrong with this game, but you can't tell what. Most people in your position would double down again on the same game and try to "do the work" to get out of the rut. This would likely work for a while, until it didn't, and you'd be right back here. If you're looking for an alternative game, you could try looking here.
> the other way of thinking is so normal to me.
Lol yeah. You and everyone else. This thought pattern is deeply conditioned into us.
> Do you have any tips on how to start thinking like this more?
I've noticed that "fake it 'til you make it" is an extremely effective strategy. You don't have to believe it to repeat it, but repeat it enough, and you'll start believing it. Then BAM, you see that got there (and that you've always been there, and always will be). At the end of the day, the only way to get there is to get there. Doing anything else is not getting there.
If you want a more thorough breakdown on how I see this working, I suggest flipping through [this](amazon.com/GameBook-how-change-improve-yourself/dp/B09V138ZXH/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1650495533&sr=8-29) ;)
I see you have tried to get help via pharmaceuticals like anti depressants etc. it’s common for those things to have even worse side effects as you mentioned the pills giving you even more suicidal thoughts. What about trying the holistic route? Instead of taking prescribed pills.. maybe try this. They sell it at whole foods from the brand Gaia. The pills are called Calm A.S.A.P and it’s holistic all natural herbs. I really hope you look into it.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H2QFMNR/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_DPDCTY7TN7RS0GJ0YDMY
Highly biased recommendation here, but I definitely believe it would help.
I suffer from anxiety, chest pains, and dissociation, and have taken great comfort in seeing things from this other perspective.
Look to Inner Child Healing. It's helpful to first transform those conditioned thoughts that judge and doubt and shame your Self to an inner voice that Unconditionally Loves and Trusts and Believes in your Self.
Also if inner child healing resonates, also check out the book C-PTSD from Surviving to Thriving, which will help you understand how, through a conditioned childhood, Consciousness became filled will overactive thinking that causes such immense anxiety and existential angst. Understanding the cause of the overactive thinking is Key to healing all of the conditioning that stands in the way of you being at Peace

This book is excellent and very much on the same subject!
Esoteric yogic knowledge is more of a universal scientific/anatomical kind, and Hinduism believes in one consciousness behind all living beings no matter the race or culture.
However, you can indeed find an exoteric Hindu cultural layer on top of that - but this layer is largely for the clueless commoners (as not everyone is capable of deep scientific understanding and many people seek simple rituals and prayers to alleviate their worries).
One of the best books to address this dilemma of yours would be the book of Baba Rampuri (the first Westerner to become accepted as a monk in what was a pure Hindu tradition), which was re-released under several different names, the latest one would be: https://www.amazon.com/Autobiography-Sadhu-Angrez-among-Babas-ebook/dp/B01KU65P9E
This book deals mostly with the historical and cultural dimensions and explains the contrast between the Eastern and Western mindsets (in other words, it concentrates on flavor text rather than on the techniques). I can recommend other books for the techniques though.
My favorite go-to manual for spirit animals is The Book of Beasties by Sarah Bamford Seidelmann. I really enjoy working with it.
[https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fall-new-Afterword-Insanity-History/dp/1785358049/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2DEX2MA43CEBC&keywords=THE+FALL+EGO+HUMAN&qid=1647273868&sprefix=the+fall+ego+human%2Caps%2C75&sr=8-5](You may enjoy this book) I am basically regurgitating the themes from it.
This is what I call a 'scrub', a big tension release, an occasional consequence of a big step forward in one's spiritual evolution.
Jack Kornfield wrote a lot about this in his book "After the ecstasy, the laundry" https://www.amazon.com/After-Ecstasy-Laundry-Heart-Spiritual/dp/0553378295
I recommend "Imagine Heaven: Near-Death Experiences, God's Promises, and the Exhilarating Future That Awaits You" by John Burke https://www.amazon.com/dp/080101526X/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_V2KYMHQ56REC6WE430CW
Topics this book discusses are - Scientific evidence for the validity of Near Death Experiences - Many different accounts of Near Death experiences and how they relate to the Bible And much more.
I reccomend trying to read this.
Can't hurt to try

What might these black holes mean to you? I'm curious.
Awesome Event.
You are in the default setting of every human being. At peace and in alignment with reality wanting to spread these feelings into the social cloud. Every new born baby connects and learns these feelings by way of culture and tradition.
If every human being can add more and more such feelings and we have a organised system where these feelings are always generated HUman future and the future of the planet is secured.
To maintain its continuity you should be able to replicate the feelings of Trust, love, compassion, understanding and others totalling 30 human values in your life regularly. Resolving every question that the imagination can think of with existential reality will ensure your continuing state of bliss.
At the family level please ensure abundance of having the talent and hardwork to produce more than what is required.
At the social level please work towards ensuring that there is no fear of harm from you to anyone whatsoever.
At the existential level be aware that you are coexistence of this life atom or souland this physical body. This body will progressively grow old and decay and you will during your journey upload as many good feelings and experience as possible .
Amen.
Best regards,
anand Damani.
The ultimate journey is towards understanding existential reality as it is. Call it spirituality, scientific investigation or existentialism or even atheism, doesn’t matter.
Spirituality needs to be scientific logical and practical. The unified one connective soul is something that needs to be clearly understood and explained. I am trying to list some features of the same-
Be always aware that spirituality is always about the conscience and nothing physical. So all poses mediation and such mumbo-jumbo can help you control your thoughts and be peaceful but nothing is spiritual in them. Pure scientific explanations will help you understand things. Now the time has come for the Science of Spirituality to take over.
Once the science of consciousness is understood, all these debates will not be required. Here enters the Science of Spirituality and understanding existential reality as it exists with the rules behind the same. Human beings are the most complicated physical structure with the nervous and neural system. He exists and studying him can solve all the physical laws. The physical body in energised by the consciousness which I would like to refer as the life-atom. Further I have explained it in this PPT:
https://www.slideshare.net/AnandDamani/knowledge-to-create-a-heavenly-experience-and-live-it-always
Spirituality is a concept that has been linked to spirit and the unknown that makes a physical human body come alive. The spirit or the soul or the life-atom or whichever word used to describe it, the concept is the same. The characteristics of that force are- Spirit is indestructible, Spirit is endowed with infinite and never depleting energy. It needs a physical body to experience. It can take any form shape or size it wants to. It is smaller than the smallest and larger than the largest.
Now just like any other scientific theory we have theories proposed about spirituality. We can validate and either accept the same or disagree and do more research till something universally acceptable about the same is established. I propose a theory of the working of the life-atom as I would like to refer to it and I am open to any suggestions inputs or amendments that you can propose:
Knowledge to Create a Heavenly Experience and Live it Always
