it's a piece of shit... Dragon shit, that is!
seriously though I think that it's awesome, it's definitely one of the best abridged series in a while. the humor never fails to make me laugh, the quality and editing is some of the best I've seen, they even are able to create good drama, as seen in the latest episode. Honestly the biggest problem the show has is the wait between episodes, it's too goddamned long. However this is something that can hopefully be fixed, if just a few more people support their Patreon (which you can find here ) as if they can get $270 more a month they can work on it full time and release episodes faster
While personally I prefer the original series a bit more, I don't think it's too fair to compare them because while it does stay true to the basic storyline, SAO Abridged has become it's own thing now and while it is definitely better that the original in some ways, that doesn't mean that there aren't things it can learn from it's source material.
Actually Reki said he would finish SAO and Accel World both as he wants to move on and write other stories. I can't find where but I'm like 90% sure I also remember him saying in another interview that SAOs story in the LNs was nearly done, maybe 2-3 more volumes to go.
If he sells out and just keeps writing infinitely and drives SAO into the ground without giving it a proper, definitive ending, I'ma be pissed.
In case you don't have "Wake Me Up, Asuna": https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mezamane.asuna&hl=en
I've been using it for 6+ months. Not the most reliable of alarm clocks, but good for reminders. Every night, at the time you designate, she tells you a bedtime story and wishes you a good night.
Thank you! I got them off amazon. Elucidator and Dark Repulser.
Have you heard of our lord and savior SAO Progressive? (sorry for the BD link, I can't find any better)
It's a retelling of Aincrad from floor 1 up, floor by floor until some day we reach floor 75.
Let's be honest, SAO is a money making juggernaut. I'd have to find the metrics on /r/anime again, but SAO is one of the highest Disc selling animes of all time (Edit: here is the linkit's still up there in the top 30, not sure what that Golden egg thing is but it is dominating, Eva 2nd of course ;P). Even Season 2 is selling well. In fact, if you actually combined all its sales from both seasons under 1 number, I'm pretty sure SAO would be dominating most other series including Eva. This pain train ain't stopping anytime soon. S3 is going to happen. Just a matter of time. I am assuming it'll be out by next summer or sooner all things considered. They really don't have to wait for more novel text as there's no way they are fitting all of Alicization into one season anyway.
S3 by next summer, I'm sure of it. I wouldn't even be remotely surprised if they animated SAO all the way to the end, meaning probably 2-3 more seasons. They are going to milk this fucker til she's dry.
fan translation exist for the first but yen press has requested any other ones to stop as they are making a official print of it this is one of the few that contain the first one translated its at the bottom of the page https://www.mediafire.com/folder/kz01zxpzvz23f/Sword_Art_Online
Actually Crunchyroll is streaming for a fairly wide number of territories.
^U.S., ^Canada, ^Australia, ^New ^Zealand, ^U.K., ^Ireland, ^Latin ^American ^Countries, ^Europe ^(excluding ^German ^& ^French ^speaking ^countries), ^Asia ^(excluding ^China, ^Korea, ^Taiwan)
Daisuki is also free and legal, same territories as Crunchyroll. They appear to upload to Youtube after a week then also embed that onto their site, it's 720p with hardsubs, split into two parts.
Oh, and Hulu is airing it, US only.
Man, the day i went and say OS at the premiere, back in march, is still one of the best days of my life. Not just for the premiere, mind, it was just a fantastic day.
Then i went and saw it three more times in Cinema - twice Subbed, once dubbed.
And, funny thing, like so many people i started watching Anime with SAO - id not seen an anime since, like, Pokemon 15 years before.
And, even funnier - i was a hater. An anime hater. You know those guys who are in youtube comments going "Anime is weaboo crap and you are all stupid?"
I did that. Unironically. I was a cunt.
So when i watched SAO, i went in 100% blind. I knew nothing about how popular it is, how divisive it is, what it was about other than the blurb Netflix supplied...
Thats part of the reason i worried that id go back and sorta change my mind about how much i liked SAO. It was new, its was exciting.
But i still love it, all of it, to bits.
(Also, Sneaky Ordinal Scale torrent linky... i wont tell if you wont tell!)
Okay I've got a pro tip for you. Ever heard of AnimeLab? No? Well, it's pretty much Crunchyroll, just with a way more stylish web design. Plus it's totally legal.
Now the bad news are that its only available in Australia and New Zealand. The good news are that you can use a VPN and it works flawlessly. My personal recommendation would be to download Mullvad VPN (it's free, you'll figure out how to use it pretty fast) and get a premium subscription on AnimeLab via Paypal or credit card. First month is free if you want to try it out before subscribing.
This way, you can watch 1080p anime simulcasted an hour after Japanese release, for free for 1 month. It's how I'm watching SAO right now and its glorious.
And if you use Google Opinion Rewards, you can literally get every outfit for free. It just takes some time.
The light novels were licensed by some american translation company and because of this are getting really tricky to get your hands on.
I have a couple so I thought I might help you all out and upload them, the link to mega in the sidebar no longer works So I made a new one...

Get it quick
Black Desert Online is what you're looking for. Glad someone mentioned it! I'm super hyped for it.
It's an MMORPG coming to NA/EU early 2016. It's very impressive and stands out very much from other MMO's. I hope this games becomes a hit.
(For the question) >I mean you create your own character and has nothing to do with characters from the show.
I'm 100% sure this is the game you are looking for. It has high character customization, impressive combat mechanics, and an open world that definitely feel like Sword Art.
I'm currently finishing up Sword Art Online myself (that's why im on this sub) and a few weeks ago was introduced to this game. It's buy to play (so no subscription) which is a plus in my book.
From all the gameplay that I've seen from the Korean version that's out, at this time, I recommend checking it out since its probably as close to Sword Art Online without directly referencing the show.
I hope this helps! This topic was interesting and just wanted people to know about Black Desert Online. Cheers!
You can buy them on amazon, however, be warned, they are very expensive on there. 60$ per volume, which is like per arc. I saw that they sell cheaper on the aniplex site. I don't normally buy CDs, but that's all the info I know.
Something similar to this happened to me as well. I ended up getting the Progressive Novels off of Amazon. But I couldn't tell which ones' were the manga, so I got those off of barnesandnoble.com
All of the books are clearly labeled on barnesandnoble.com, so you won't have any confusion if you order from there.
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/sword+art+online+progressive?_requestid=657453
Eh, read these:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-03-07
https://brainwreckedtech.wordpress.com/anime/why-is-anime-so-expensive/
tl;dr Because this is what makes them the most money and consumers haven't shown them otherwise yet.
According to this post from Patreon it'll be around February when we get episode 9. So I think they are probably going to be pretty consistent at around 4 months
You can also buy them at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, online and in stores. You'll have a better chance to find them online. Currently the fist three volumes are out, with the forth coming soon.
What? I'm actually on time? Miracles do happen!
This is pretty old fanart and has been one of my favourites. I love depictions of the characters just being casual and not, you know, almost dying or being extremely frightened/angry/depressed. And thankfully Klein is a great guy for happy fanart because he is pretty cheerful in general.
I hope the Kirisuna fans enjoy the background too!
heres a better source.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3bb7i2dqmvamb/Sword_Art_Online
They dont "jump ahead" but they sometimes jump around, chronologically. For example, volume 1 starts on Floor 74, and then everything else before that is told in flashbacks and side stories from volume 2.
Check out A Study of Depravity. It's mostly about OCs who are involved in (or victims of) the rise of Laughing Coffin. The story takes some liberties (infractions work a little differently from canon SAO), but overall, it has compelling material--with some people taken in by PoH's charismatic personality and rabble rousing, for instance.
Yes, AGGO is a new anime that's an adaptation of the spinoff of the same name. Here's a PV.
There's also Alicization ("season 3"), which is set to premiere in October.
Light Novel downloads can be found here
Mother's Rosario is a good one. If you're still too lazy to read it, let me know and I can give you a brief summary.
I know a few people have already posted, but Mamue's archive is the best compiled source.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/kz01zxpzvz23f/Sword_Art_Online
He constantly updates it with all the latest updates. So far he has all of the books, side stories, and 80% of volume 14 which he live updates from Tap's blog.
If you have spare time and a smartphone, I would recommend reading the LN on your phone using Wattpad. If you download the app and look for SAO volumes 5 and 6, you can save them to the app and read the whole thing without using data / internet while reading. I read the whole thing over a week while going to and from work on the bus! :)
http://www.wattpad.com/story/9001559-sword-art-online-light-novel-volume-5-phantom
http://www.wattpad.com/story/6223107-sword-art-online-light-novel-volume-6-phantom
Of course, the translation isn't the 100% best english, but it's definitely easily readable. Just my input :)
Voice actors from the trailer:
>LLLLL
I see what you did there.
Yandere Yui yaps, yet yearn-fully yanks your yen.
TL note: Yen can also mean craving. See definition two. Also, don't try to do consonance with "y," you'll regret it.
I listened to this post using NaturalReaders.
My favorite video of his isn't on your list, so I'll link it here.
Art Is All About Pressing Your Buttons!
I'm one of those people who can listen to criticism of things I like without getting angry, so I don't share the kneejerk distaste that many have for him on this sub. Just think of it like someone criticizing your favorite food. It's just their personal preference, it doesn't affect your enjoyment of the dish in any way, and anyone who thinks less of you for your food preferences is an idiot. As such, I've probably watched a couple dozen of his videos, including all of his reviews of SAO (still waiting for his review of Mother's Rosario). His ability to quickly and thoroughly articulate why he does or doesn't like something is a skill that not many people have cultivated, and it's easier to clarify your own views on any anime by contrasting them with someone else's. I'm also generally interested in what presses people's buttons when it comes to art and entertainment.
With that being said, I generally disagree with his taste in anime, but one of my criteria for what makes a good anime critic is someone who I can agree with even if I disagree with their opinion, meaning I can understand why they hold their opinion even if I don't share it. I don't remember if Digi passes this test, but I get why he doesn't like SAO.
I got it on Amazon!
Holy shit, Did you spray it with pledge?
You want $750 for an opened figure that's been kept outside of a case, With no original packaging? With your only assurance of lack of damage (not including fading) is a low quality photo with the figure next to a can of pledge?
Without the original packaging trying to ship that thing will result in it being damaged, It's hard enough to get something in an undamaged condition though the mail as it is.
The figure is competing with ones of substantially better quality and design that cost $50~$150 USD and have the protection and backing of places like Amazon. You are trying to compete with things like this when you are actully in the same quality range as this but selling used, without all the parts, and likely damaged.
If this is not a troll post, You are insane. $20~ is probably being generous.
Sword Art Online SAO Medium... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M5K433S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This is the link for Amazon I ordered off of there and really love the quality its stainless steel and feels like a good weight to it.
See? New lines for dialogue add a lot to the precieved length. I think you might want to also look at #4 on the list of that page I linked, and watch your periods. Also, the second example of #2 could work for
>“Whats going on buddy, everything ok?” I try to make small talk with him
To make it:
>"What's going on buddy," I ask. "Everything alright?"
There is a missing period in yours, and more telling than showing. Do you need to say "small talk" if you are going to transcribe most of the conversation? The Elements of Style is a great book that covers a lot of these small details and can make your writing that much more clear.
Look here, someone from Reddit is compiling SAO related pictures.
Late reply but its October 8th for EU. NA has the patch already.
Here are the <em>patch notes</em>
(Sidenote: some of the changes are missing from that list. but its the best one i could find)
Hmm, I'll try to find the quote I'm talking about, I'm like 90% sure he gave a definite end. 17 or 19 or something volumes. Will report back with what I find... :D
I will say, I love SAO quite a bit and I don't want it to end, but realistically, it really needs to at some point. There needs to be closure before it all goes downhill.
Also, I'm 100% sure I remember Reki saying he wanted to write stuff after SAO and Accel world, which would imply there is an end. I'm certain. It was in an interview or something where he was talking about the genre he'd like to write in afterward.
Edit: Yep, I was right, here ya go. Don't remember where I read 17 volumes though, but it wasn't more than 20 I believe.
"After I finish the two series, Accel World and Sword Art Online, after these are complete I may want to try something other than sci-fi." - Reki Kawahara
Wrote it: Auld Lang Syne - Sachi lives, and she and Kirito join a guild for people trying to cope with having seen death first-hand. I always wanted to explore the feelings Kirito had during "Red-nosed Reindeer" a little more, and to examine the distance he tends to keep from others and how he might overcome that in another scenario.
I still think someday I might write another piece, probably something like the Fairy Dance arc but with Asuna not trapped, so family drama and romance and stuff, and looking at how people adapt to the real world again after being in a virtual one for so long.
Light Novel is linked in the Sidebar.
Linked Here for your convenience
The Anime is currently covering LN Vol. 7 (Note Vol. 8 is already covered in the anime, caliber arc)
Was "Hatchet" still popular back then? I can imagine them not being sold if almost nobody is interested.
I have not idea what kind of logic is behind that, I think it would be better to learn Japanese and buy them from Japan than learn German and buy them from Amazon, although it should just be available in English. Sometimes I really wonder what companies think, how do they think selling books in German is going to make more revenue than selling them in English.
And bugs! Please don't forget the bugs! I won't visit Australia before you get rid of all the bugs! xD I do want to see some Kangaroos though. :)
You can find Kuromukuro here (I hope the mods don't mind me sharing these kind of sites).
Although torrenting certainly makes it viable to watch offline, the last time I did it every episode was at least half a Gigabyte. In other words I would need to buy a new hard drive every other time. And besides that, I am afraid my internet is too poor for torrenting.
Ahh almost forgot, maybe you can order your books here? I am afraid they will take a while to arrive though.
The link was taken down because the novels were licensed.
I know your plea though, Ive been watching them each week they come out and I even resorted to reading fanfiction Look how ive fallen, Anyways, I uploaded them here so real quick download them and keep them forever k?
I'd really like to help you, but as far as i know there's no fan translated version of progressive vol 2.
Did you try http://www.bookdepository.com/search?searchTerm=sword%20art%20online%20progressive&search=Find+book
Thats's pretty much all i can think of - they supposedly ship to anywhere, so this might be worth a try.
Alright...
> I honestly never really considered SAO a harem
A harem anime is an anime where the MC is surrounded by girls. He doesn't necessarily have to have a ~~sexual~~ romantic relationship with all of them but... most of them like him and they hang out all the time. Examples of Harems are: The World God Only Knows (but Keima only truly loved one of the girls), Oreshura, (MC is anti love), No Game No Life (seriously... 2 dudes.... and one of them is a minor character), and DanMachi (Bell's heart is only after Aiz-san).
>But anyways, I don't know why people hated this arc
Let's list reasons shall we? * tentacles * not enough As~~s~~una (or too much Assuna) * incest * even though he has limited time he goes off and does the treaty thing * slow start * irl was no good *sugou was an unrealistic bad guy
I'm sure there are quite a lot there
>It's a great one for character development
Yes! I. Love. Character Development. Quite personally I'm not sure if I'll watch AoT (Attack on Titan) because I heard the only mC (little m means minor) that gets really developed is some girl eating an apple....
Nearly all the Major Characters get character development.... Except for Sugou.
>Also I hated Sugou
A agree with you here too. A good writer can make any character look like a good guy. A was reading a book one of my friends wrote, A World of Lies (subtle advertising) where he uses Little Red Riding Hood and makes the wolf the MC, and the hunter the 'villain.'
>But S02E21, Kirito there...
WOAH DAMN.
It's almost assuredly a custom designed typeface and unless some dedicated fan made one, I doubt there's a usable font of it out there. That said, there are ways around this dilemma.
Well, I managed to turn my electric guitar into a bass guitar. Does that count?
A waiting chat room (voice or IRC) could do it, although those might be empty most of the time.
What do you think about a "written" chat group to add up to the skype community (I don't know if it is feasible from skype, but registering an IRC chat room in a similar service to freenode but without the FLOSS restraint should be fairly easy)
Seems that the second volume isn't being printed anymore. Yen Press's official listing of it doesn't show the physical version available anywhere.
Yeah, that's my fault for not specifying. Someone on discord found it for me
https://www.amazon.com/BCW-1-TLCH-9X12-Bcw-9X12-Topload/dp/B000KDQSV2?ref_=ast_sto_dp
But thanks for reading the post
There's dozens of websites where you can read it online for free.
But, if you want a physical copy you can buy it on Barnes and Noble or Amazon
Note, there are two manga volumes for Phantom Bullet.
So it seems like Amazon Japan has the best limited edition package: Link
Comes with all of the limited edition stuff from the official limited edition releases, but comes with also the best vendor-specific bonuses.
>japan exclusive
japanese exclusive with no expected translation, at least. doesn't mean you can't get it yourself if that amazon listing is indeed the right thing. with the same cover art, release date, and at 500 pages, I'd wager it is
might as well tag /u/BleedingUranium to make sure you see this
edit: also /u/SaintNeos because japanamazon does deliver internationally
I got it from a convention in the dealers hall.
Here's an amazon link for one though https://www.amazon.com/Taito-Online-Aincrad-Fencer-Figure/dp/B01F4YGKQE/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_21_lp_tr_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JFF8V5RRFGK3QKW4AZAK
Is this a redraw or just a crop? The original is wallpaper size... I think it was a magazine spread.
It's also the subject of a Weiß Schwarz card, but the card isn't cropped this close. It's not a card I use, though I have at least one of them.
Here's the card if you're curious. Not my link. Just found it on Amazon. It's not a bad card, and if you want Kirito in a yellow deck, it's one of the few ways to do it (most Kirito cards are blue; you can mix colours but there are penalties for doing so, sort of, long story short, mono decks are easier than multi-colour decks, but not as versatile, and advanced players will almost always rock multi-colour). I also have a yellow card with Yuuki (the promo that came with the Mother's Rosary Blu-ray special edition). Yuuki is usually green, so it's cool to slap a Yuuki down in a yellow deck, and that card is more useful to me. Though, I haven't been playing much lately. I still have most of my cards. Seriously, if y'all like SAO art, you should get a few cards just to have. There's a set of all foils that are only worth a quarter each. Collectors are usually happy to unload extras. And there's no correlation between quality of card art and rarity of the card, though it's subjective I suppose. Depends what you like, but there's a lot of fantastic art in the commons and uncommons.
This will be my short series that post a link to all the music videos of the OP and ED’s for SAO starting with the anime then eventually the game verse.
If they do not work in your area use a Proxi/VPN such as CyberGhost, TunnelBear etc.
Are those static icons or did you install this?
I used the launcher for a while and it was pretty cool actually. Has the swipe down feature to open the menu just like the show.
I pre-ordered mine almost a month ago, and the delivery estimate said Tuesday 22 April. Now the release date on mine has changed to this. Motherfucking 15th of May. No reason on the page, Wikipedia still says 22 April.
You can buy the light novels, & the Progressive LN at Barnes & Noble website or store. Here's a link where you can buy the light novels. Here's a link to buy the mangas.
We've been waiting a year to watch the dub release... my nerves can't take much more without turning to violence or pure alcohol.
You could try Orbot and/or the Play Store web version (with VPN) instead of the App.
If you''ll be able to play SAOVS after its release is ofc a different thing, most new games won't allow to be played using any VPN.
There's one on sale for amazon: https://www.amazon.com/nobrand-Alicization-Special-Synthesis-Thirty-Two/dp/B0846FLMXX
For me, multiplayer and aesthetics were a big part of enjoying SAO. I'm honestly looking forward to better multiplayer options with Honkai Impact 3rd - or even just non-combat co-op modes. I do like the MMORPG and multidimensional skilling aspects, but at this point of life, I want something simple yet engaging while taking a break from other mentally taxing things.
PS: If you prefer the more 3D style graphics instead of the anime-style graphics of Honkai Impact, I'd highly recommend checking out Toram Online (unoess you haven't already?)!
Today's episode is sponsored by ExpressVPN. I feel like every day that passes cyber security becomes more and more important because more and more of our lives are online. That's why i use expressvpn to protect my online security. ExpressVPN routes your traffic through their secure servers which means that your internet service provider can't track and sell your information. On top of that, ExpressVPN gives you an added layer of security against hackers. Ever go into a coffee shop and connect to their public wi-fi? Well then your device is vulnerable to everyone else on that wi-fi as well unless of course you're behind a VPN. And even if you don't care that much about cyber security expressvpn gives you the added bonus of unlocking extra content. Streaming services like Netflix and Hulu will block content based on your location but expressvpn allows you to change your location to get access to those shows. I mean you're paying for netflix anyways so why not unlock the entire content library? You can get three months free of ExpressVPN when you sign up at [insert name]
I think there is an issue with their product page. But you can type in SAO Progressive 8 Kindle and it’ll take you to the right page. https://www.amazon.com/Sword-Online-Progressive-light-novel-ebook/dp/B09MQBPB7G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2BAT5WHYY1KAU&keywords=sao+progressive+8+kindle&qid=1655870752&sprefix=sao+progressive+8+kindle%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-1

"Is the" - "is the*re*"? There is a manga with the same name, but I cannot say, if it is finished, and if it has an English release,- let me see...
https://swordartonline.fandom.com/wiki/Sword_Art_Online_-_Hollow_Realization_(manga) - Is said to be finished.
I see the volumes on Amazon.com - But I do not get it, what prevented you from typing "hollow realization" yourself there?

You should ping Crunchyroll support (if you are unable to find the season selection drop down) I found a comment in their forums that may be pertinent for you. https://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-997117/availability-of-anime-in-the-netherlands I'm from Canada myself and all of the seasons are available to me on Crunchyroll.
Apologies if this has been asked already but I haven't found clarification.
Question: So to my understanding, War of the Underworld is the '4th season' of SAO or a continuation of the 'Alicization' ark. Alicization was 24 episodes long and to my understanding War of The Underworld is/was supposed to be 24 episodes long as well. But if you go to Crunchyroll, you have all your SAO categories(?) and War of The Underworld only has 12 episodes (and the last one was released almost 2 weeks ago now?) so is War of The Underworld over now and they are taking another break (as in months) before picking it back up or is it just a 2 week gap because of the holidays and such?
Again, apologies if this has been repeatedly asked, I just haven't found an answer and figured it'd be best to ask in the comments of a slightly related post rather than make a whole thread for it. Thank you in advance.
Yes, they have to be changed manually.

In more recent news, they are talking about doing a PS4 release for Lost Song.
Edit: Source.
Actually, no.
Season 4 is currently airing.
Alicization was Season 3, and it's currently Season 4.
That's how Crunchyroll has it, and that's how Trakt has it, which comes from TheTVDB.
Season 3 was 2018, that season ended, they took a break, and now the new season is the 2019 season. Of course, traditional season rules tend to go out the window when it comes to animation — not just anime.
Of course, unofficially, you're allowed to split it any which way you want, I suppose, if you download the episodes.
Here's the Trakt link for the episode that just aired — season 4, episode 5. While not an official, Japanese source, it's official enough, and it comes from an open, crowdsourced source (TheTVDB). I suggest you take your message to them. I'm sure they already have people making your case, and I'm sure they have people saying it should be this way. I don't really know, I'm not part of their community. I just use a site that sources the data they put out.
Trakt is calling it S04E01 as well. They use TVDB, which is an open platform. It'll probably be corrected later.
That said, it IS another season in all but name only. It's the 2019 season. The last one was the 2018 season. I don't know why they split seasons up the way they do, I imagine there's probably some tax reasons in there. As a fan I really don't care. SAO in particular is broken down into arcs, and Alicization was a separate arc. This will be a new arc. Doesn't really matter to me what TVDB and Trakt call it, numbers-wise. I'm just down to watch the episodes.
Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de seem like your best choices. However the LN are only available in Japanese (LN Vol. 1 - 15) or English (LN Vol. 1 - 2) with German LN Vol 1. launching Dec 8th 2014.
Another option is reading the English Fan translations. Link from the sidebar

> In any case, I just cannot order English right now, because they ask more that 40 USDs for shipping only, which is impossible to pay for shipment, because USD costs more than two times more than it was a couple of years ago.
Free international shipping, same link as in the top bar.
>Also, Japanese ones are released much faster.
The English(3 volumes/year) are actually faster than Japanese(1-2 volumes/year) releases, the Japanese are ahead of us due to a 5 year head start.
XD
If we wanted to get particular on the titles then the 4th novel in the main series on Book Depository isn't advertised as being part of the Sword Art Online series, its just called Fairy Dance (Novel) 1.

EDIT: Although the blurb/summary does mention SAO
Aniplex is a Japanese company that is owned by Sony. They use the Japanese model of smaller print runs and higher prices. This was originally done because, in the 80s and 90s, physical media (VHS etc) consumption was rental based. Most people were not buying the media to own. However, distributors realized that anime fans were buying their products despite the high prices.
As the market moved away from rentals, distributors realized that anime fans were still buying their product. Lowering the prices wouldn't bring more buyers since their target audience were already purchasing the product, so they had no reason to do so.
Funimation is a US based company and use a different method to pricing their product.
If you want more information, check out this article.
tl;dnr Aniplex charges what they charge because people who want the product will pay the price. They (probably) feel that lowering the prices won't generate a significant increase in sales.
Is up on Funimation
It's too short, yup, but I enjoy most the characters and their interactions in the game, and how the main char adjusts to try and be an Overlord.
Alright, I'll start with the definition of the harem genre:
> A harem includes three or more characters who potentially show romantic interest in a male protagonist. The sex, gender, or orientation of the harem members is irrelevant as long as they exclusively, or at least primarily, are vying for the affections of the same individual - who may or may not reciprocate towards one, several, or none of these romantic rivals.
Now I bolded a part of that, as it is the important part here. There are two girls who have shown that they have feelings for Kirito, Lisbeth and Leafa. Silica thinks of him like an older brother, and Sinon thinks of him as a friend and a mentor of sorts. Asuna is, well, Asuna.
Lisbeth gives up on vying for Kirito as soon as she learns about Asuna's feelings for him. She also appears to get over her feelings for him, but it's never actually stated so I can't say for certain. Because of her having given up, she doesn't fit the definition.
Leafa states many times that it is wrong for her to have feelings for Kirito and does everything she can to not have them. She also never once acts on those feelings. She, like Lisbeth, appears to get over her feelings as well but once again it's never directly stated so I can't say for sure. However, as she is not vying for his affections, she doesn't fit the definition either.
Thus, there is only one girl who is "vying for the affections of" Kirito, and that girl is his girlfriend. As there is only one character vying for his affections, it's not a harem.
Yeah well whether you can watch where you live on crunchyroll or not depends on many things. Regionblock, availability of the dub(if you specifically want that). https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/sword-art-online
Check if you can here. Also yes watch movie, it's not totally necessary but they have incorporated the tech from movie in s3 so watch it out. It's a good movie nonetheless. Dub is only toonami limited for now.
I believe Crunchyroll have it. unless it's not available for your country :

Neflix should not have it yet. will take a while.
It's been confirmed that it will be running for an entire year: 4 cours, for a total of about 50 episodes.
Those weren't part of the original novel, he released those as side stories separately.

You can always read from Tap's blog, which is actually what I would to do support him, but it does get confusing at times.

I read directly from Tap's site, but reading from a blog can sometimes be messy so I thought I should link this too. Mamue constantly updates from Tap's blog into a PDF format for easy use.
