I've done this and here is how I set it up:
1) Buy a Bluetooth GPS. I already had an old one I used with my Windows Mobile 5 phone from back in the day.
2) Enable Mock Locations under Settings --> Applications --> Development. I'm assuming you have Android installed on yout TP.
3) Install this app or one like it from the market.
4) If using Google Navigation, plan the route before getting out of Wifi range whle connected to the Bluetooth GPS receiver. If just using Google Maps, enable Pre-cache under Lab in Maps then pre-cache along the planned route. Or try using Locus Maps, Waze or some other Offline map programs.
To keep enough juice for the TP while driving around, use a cheater plug with a high current charger. This shorts USB Pins 2 & 3 much like the home AC charger.
Profit!!!
You can use Sixaxis Controller and Sixaxis Pair Tool the instructions for both are pretty straight forward but I'll explain the process anyways. You check what your phone or tablets bluetooth address (Settings>About Phone>Status), then set your controllers bluetooth address to the same one as your phone or tablet by using Sixaxis Pair Tool. Then you open Sixaxis Controller and sync it. Then you can map it in whatever game your playing. {NOTE: n64iod is a bitch and will only allow you to use "Bluez IME" which in my experience sucks ass, the only way to use this payware with it is to set the keys in Sixaxis controller to letters or numbers. It's annoying but it works splendidly.}

I'm actually not 100% that this what OP used, he might have had a flashable .zip that fixed his/her wifi issues. But it seems to work for my phone.
Here's the link on how to do it upload-files-awesome-boxnet-windows-explorer...
Now, if you know of a way to get around the 100 mb file limit..
yep, with the touchstone. there are two ways that work: cover closed, portrait orientation; and, cover open and folded behind, landscape orientation. the way with the cover open doesn't seem like it'll work until you try it; but, it is designed to work that way. in that orientation, it's the case that is caught by the lip of the dock.
From ZDNet:
> It even charges the tablet with the front flap folded over behind the tablet, thus presenting two layers of case the charging must pass through. I don’t know how this works exactly, but the charging works in either portrait or landscape orientation. It is a testament to both how thin the HP Case is and to how well the Touchstone charging dock performs.
I use Serviio media server on my desktop. My TV can stream from it, along with my Xbox, and Patriot Box Office. Serviio is really great because it has the ability to list movies by genre, actors, directors, producers etc. I forget which player I use on my Touchpad, but any of these should be able to do the job. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UPnP_AV_media_servers_and_clients#Android
Edit: I use UPnPlay. I also remember having to change a quick setting on that client.
Well, I tried looking up parts but it seems that the screen will probably run you quite a bit more than you paid for it. I think your best option would be to part out your touchpad for the working parts.
Mine unfortunately arrived in that state, I found this and may strip it down and put it back together again this weekend, see if something has slipped or moved.
Have you tried using the Disable Service app... On my OnePlus One that had the same battery drain I had to actually ENABLE System Update Service under google play services because it is disabled by default which causes a drain... Let me know if this works for you...
You could take a boxcutter and carve the meat stylus into a more pencil-like shape? Else, the oStylus looks to be a non-edible solution.
Sorry I don't have a Netflix account but according to this video: http://gizmodo.com/5931633/zombie-hp-touchpad-gets-android-jellybean-before-almost-every-android-tablet it does not seem to be working
If you can't find the official one, this might be your only option
It looks like it is still on Google Play.
Edit: I also just searched for it and found in on my SGSII running AOKP.
FYI I tried it on my work wifi (which is spotty at times due to pretty high amounts of security) and this app didn't help. It just kept going in a constant loop of disable, re-enable, attempt, disable, re-enable, attempt, etc.
This app however, did help. It pretty much cleared every wifi setting on my Touchpad and so far it has worked just fine the last couple of days.

I don't think you can open it via the download page, but if you go to your office app you may be able to open the file. You could also go to the photos / music -> downloaded -> open from there. I'm not 100% sure if those work for excel files, but it's worth a try!
Edit: It looks like there is an update for your QuickOffice HD app that will let you edit spreadsheets and such. Sauce: https://www.facebook.com/AndroidonTouchpad
Just an update, got the CCM Stylus on Amazon and love it! The handwriting apps are alright but I have some books on PDF and annotating is very fun and painless with EZ PDF Reader. Great buy, thanks for giving me the idea, IlovePopcorn!
Meg says HP COULD make more webOS tablets in 2013. Eh, all in all I think today's developments are a better plan that letting whole thing just die...
better yet, look at the pricing on starcraft's standard and limited editions...
Take a Look at the price difference between the limited and legendary versions... I would not hold your breath, the pricing and website people are frickin' idiots
One of the main memory hog culprits is the Event Logging shit that HP tacked on almost every function. Once you turn it off, and up the clock to 1.5mHz, the touchpad runs smoothly and it's not a big drain on the battery either. you can bump it up to 1.7mHz or even 1.9mHz, but really, the safest, most battery economical speed is 1.5mHz.
Worse case, we'll just have to repeat turning off the event logging.
Be careful jamming your cable into it. It sounds like you mucked up the solder points on the connection. If you do it too bad then you can fry the mobo and you will really be up shit creek. You can take it to a place that does motherboard repairs to get it fixed if HP wont warranty it. If you are feeling adventurous you could disassemble it.
