Regardless the gender, reproductive coercion is not criminalized in the United States but birth control sabotage is frequently associated with physical or sexual violence. - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reproductive_coercion
Additionally, I found this:
Could not find much on Sweden's stance when it comes to birth control sabotage.
This is an important issue to me. One of my friends, Jamie Walton, was forced into child prostitution at a very young age. Amazingly enough she grew up to be a healthy adult. She is currently working with Kevin Smith (director/actor) to help get young girls out of these abusive situations.
If you are interested in joining and getting updates, they have a facebook page. They are just getting started so it's still pretty small.
https://www.facebook.com/thewaynefoundation
Kevin also did an interview with Jamie on his radio show. It's a very disturbing piece, so be prepared if you listen to it.
http://www.smodcast.com/sminterview/
EDIT: I've asked Jamie if she and Kevin would be interested in doing an AMA. Would anybody be interested in such an event if they said yes?
You sound like you're coping with a lot of anxiety and, glancing at your previous posts, that you're a teenager. Anxiety can cause and worsen sleep disturbances like nightmares, but at the same time, it's important to remember that our brain uses sleep and dreams to work through problems, sometimes before we're consciously aware of them.
Being a woman is scary, but a life lived in fear is a life half-lived. There are precautions you can take, skills you can learn, and relationships you can nurture that lower your chances of being a victim of violence. There's no such thing as 'no risk,' but there is a good shot at ' low risk'.
One thing I recommend to anyone concerned with personal safety is the book The Gift Of Fear by Gavin DeBoeker. It really helped me understand how to keep myself safe, not just in the "grabbed by a stranger on my front porch" situations (which are far more rare than domestic violence) but in relationships of all kinds.
Good on you for being aware and reaching out. Those are survivor skills, and they will help you every day of your life.
Just reading a book called Come As You Are (https://www.amazon.com/Come-You-Are-Surprising-Transform/dp/1476762090) and now whenever I see someone say "sex drive" I have the obligation to say "Sex is not a drive." I highly recommend this book, my mind was blown by how much popular culture has gotten wrong about sex.
>Thanks. I just feel so trapped here. I dont even have a place where to send my things (a friends I guess) and as a disabled woman I barely have savings left.
My situation is somewhat similar. I am unable to work a normal job due to health issues. Currently I'm looking to find some remote work so at least I can save up some money. Would you be able to do something like that? There are websites like upwork.com, for example. I would do it, but as I'm in North America it would be hard to compete and still get a living wage. But maybe it would work for where you live?
In the meantime, best thing you can do to keep your stress down is not to argue with him. Nod, smile, change the subject, go into another room. It's awful when you feel like you can't stand up for yourself, but I've had to go there sometimes, just in order to survive. I even had to lie a few times just to keep the peace. It's a bad situation to be in, for sure.
Please try to pass along (and read for yourself!) "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft. Can't recommend this book enough. I think that and "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin De Becker should be required reading for female people in our current society.
I created the project described in the Buzzfeed article above, and I need reddit's help, y'all. Women, can you respond here or share your own feelings about your body in my survey?

If you are interested in the topic outside of curiousity, I would check out the book Safe, Legal, and Unavailable by Melody Rose. http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/70630343
The short version is that even though the Roe V. Wade decision made abortion legal, it left a lot of loopholes that extremists can use to make abortion more difficult to access. Pro-life groups have been working to get pro-life candidates in local and state political office since the 80's, and those politicians can affect state laws regarding abortion access. These laws are the things you hear about most often on reddit, such as 24-72 hour waiting periods, mandatory counseling, mandatory speeches that include blatant lies such as abortion leading to breast cancer and suicide or that fetuses feel pain before they do. The climate towards abortion providers made by protestors and extremist groups that have bombed clinics or murdered doctors like George Tiller also discourages people from even choosing to become a doctor that provides abortions. Abortion is not a mandatory thing for doctors to learn, even obstetrician/gynecologists. There are also often strict rules in some states about where abortions can be provided that prevents them from being in small clinics instead of hospitals . And then there is the Hyde Amendment, which others have discussed, that prevents any federal funding going towards abortions. It all adds up to a climate where on paper abortions are legal, but they can be very difficult for women, especially women in rural areas around the country, to access.
There are magnesium rich foods, but I buy it as an oil I can spray where it hurts.
This is the kind I use, but any kind that says it is transdermal should be fine.

I don’t recommend the smallest size though. I really like the third size (“night pad”).
I love my menstrual cup, I'll never go back to pads and tampons. Once I mastered the trick of getting good suction against my cervix - sometimes a little challenging because the angle is a little weird, I have a tipped uterus - it was like magic. I can all but forget I'm on my period all day, and I swear my cramps are lighter and my period is usually only 4 days instead of 5. I highly recommend trying them. I got a cheapo cup from Amazon and it works great for me.
I hate to say it, but if you like seamless Amazon Essentials makes good ones. Damn you, Bezos!!

You should post your complaint to /r/feminisms. google says that reddit is 26% female and 74% male, so that may explain some of the differences.
Google image search on this one is disturbing even if you don't count the naked billboard photo - but really, really illustrative of just how fucking cruel and warping this disease can be to a person's self image.
I recommend using menstrual cups. They are reusable and 10x better than tampons and pads. Not to mention you save a lot of money when using them. To clean them, you just gotta boil it in water and that’s it.
Here’s a link to the one I got if you’re interested.
Regular/Rectifier should be charging the battery directly. The best thing I've always done is to put a volt meter on the battery so I can see the real time voltage while I ride. It makes it easy to tell if that battery is being charged (which as you said yours isn't), but great to catch it when it is working and then stops.
Like this one (the one I've put on 3 bikes):

Hey! I don’t want to blah on that person’s advice at all. But I’d like to share this-
Waxing is fairly expensive and it rips all hairs out at once. An epilator will pull a few hairs out at your own pace and is a one time purchase of ~$50.
I have no professional knowledge but from what I know, I think waxing would be way harsher for any skin conditions. Just something to possibly think about.
That’s the one I have. $40, great reviews, and I’ve had it literally over a decade. Please look into it if you’re curious. (There are no blades to cut you!) Good luck and best wishes, feel free to ask any questions!
It’s quite expensive but worth the money. Been using since May and it worked wonders for me. Don’t need to shave, wax or do anything at all for weeks and the hair doesn’t grow anymore in most places anyway.

I think D-mannose is the most important supplement women do not know about!! Cranberry hasn't had the same kind of research to back it up.
Some tips on using D-mannose:
Please do this before doing antibiotics. There is building evidence that antibiotics can lead to more and stronger UTIs.
I also got them all the time when I first started having sex. It’s been said but I’ll say it again because it’s crucial - pee after sex. Make sure to drink lots of water all the time so you’re flushing everything out consistently. Also, I started taking a daily probiotic which made the biggest difference. I take the Garden of Life once daily Women’s probiotic.

For period stains on lighter colors, rinse it out as soon as you can, then spray a bunch of Windex (ammonia) and let it sit for a while, then rinse again. You might need to do the Windex 2x if you aren't able to do the initial rinse quickly.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this and it's kind of different, but I was given puppy pads (I think?) when I was a young teen and first menstruating. These things. Anyway, I put them under my fitted sheet but above my mattress, so if I had a nighttime accident and bled onto my bed, I only got blood on the fitted sheet and the puppy pad and not the mattress or anything underneath. I just stashed the box under my bed for storage.
I don’t remember what they used, it was a few years ago. I remember I looked it up and it had a ridiculous price tag and of course I don’t have Kim K’s budget so I used this . It’s a great mask in general.
UGH I'm sorry! There are so many wonderful parts of being a woman, but this is not one of them!
Personally, I have this pepper spray on my keychain. If you do get pepper spray, practice with it (in an empty field or backyard). It's not as easy as it looks, and it's a bit tough to aim. A gun is going to be harder to get and take much more skill to use. If you do decide on that course, just make sure you get proper training and practice.
Also remember if there are other women around, almost all of us will back you up if you come up and let us know someone is creeping on you! We've got your back!

How to Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety
Written by a woman. Not necessarily FOR women, but the advice is amazing all the same.
Also this book: Self Assertion for Women
It was originally written in the 70s I think, revised in the 90s. But it’s shocking how relevant the info still is. Just teaches how to unabashedly find your voice as a woman, and defy socialization to truly stand up for yourself and your needs.

another story, from a rural town (but not at night): I was walking down a beautiful, gravel country road, with many hills/twists, alone. A truck with two young, white males slowly drives past me, and I can feel them eyeing me. half an hour later, I walk up a hill and see that the truck (which had been hidden from my view at the bottom of the hill) has parked off to the side of the road, and one of the men is leaning against the truck. One of the men is standing in the middle of the road, facing my direction. He starts to walk towards me. There is no mail box, or attraction, or turnoff anywhere near where they parked (I went back later and checked). I had recently read the book "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker and realized now was not the time to see if they were really just up to something harmless. I turned around and ran, and called for someone to pick me up. when my ride picked me up, we drove past the area to confirm whether there was some innocent reason why their truck had stopped where it did (again, such as there being a road or mailbox or something at that point in the road). There wasn't. I've mentioned this story to several people, and I think a male friend suggested that maybe they were going out there to smoke pot. Maybe. I sure didn't feel safe enough to risk it, though. And I no longer feel safe exploring country roads by myself, which is a shame because so many of them are so beautiful.
It's an amazing book. I think my prof used it because she was friends with one of the authors, but it's still an awesome book. Chapters include "Right to Sexual Privacy", "equality Challenges to State Sex and Sexuality Discriminations", "Lawrence v. Texas: Watershed in the Law", "Theories of Sexuality, Gender, and the Law", "Sexual Speech", "U.S. Military Exclusions and the Construction of Manhood", "Sexuality, Gender, and the Law in the Workplace" and "Families We Choose: Privatization and Plurality in Family Law".
This was my first real pre-law class (I hadn't even taken Con Law yet, and she assumed we had...eep...I spent the first few weeks looking up shit like "strict scrutiny") and wow, it was fascinating. Prof apparently got tenure and the first thing she did was add this class to the curriculum.
If you're really that interested, abebooks has it for 70 bucks instead of 170. Out of all my books, this and Con Law were the only two I kept.
That explains a ton, thanks, wakatopatopa. Independence is also a quality that I highly value and an ideal to which I aspire, so I completely understand this.
I still have trouble comprehending the rational subsumption of the biological urge to procreate.
Perhaps naively, I imagine my ideal partner will be a completely independent person who is interested in procreating and exploring a parental relationship with at least one child, and is therefore willing to compromise a couple decades of complete independence in exchange for this [edit:] experience.
Then again, when I say it out loud, this does seem far-fetched. Perhaps it would be more acceptable if the stay-at-home child-rearing equation were a little more balanced. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/10/world/europe/10iht-sweden.html
The US is certainly heavily oriented towards burdening a woman with most of the responsibility of child-rearing. This is definitely unfair, and it is an inequality that is built-in to the government-influenced/controlled economy and reinforced by lack of collective bargaining rights for workers in most states.
I second what the first commenter posted, but I've also found these:

I was in it for a long time. I leak from a spine injury, so it only half helped. However, they released tension that had been locking up my pelvic floor since my first child (9 years prior!!!). Have you ever looked into adult ADHD? Here’s a book about it and how it affects women differently
Women with Attention Deficit Disorder by Sari Solden
It’s just a possibility. ADHD goes undiagnosed in 50-75% of women, because it manifests very differently than in boys. When it goes undiagnosed, a common side effect is depression due to reasons just like this- being completely overwhelmed with life.
I felt the same way as you and thought it was a personal failing. But it might just be something else. Struggling with menial tasks, shutting down due to being mentally exhausted at the end of the day, a messy living space- those are all things that could be attributed to ADHD.
The ones I have are like these:

I have the same problem. The best solution imo is to get yourself a tailor. Buy pants that fit the hips and have the tailor bring the waist in to fit perfectly.
Also you can buy Jean buttons like this to DIY it yourself without sewing
I recommend this book, if you haven’t read it already: I ❤️ female orgasm
It’s a very good, plain guide that accounts for how different it is for each woman. Might be cheaper on other sites.
I can only speak from my own experience because everyone is soo different, but for me there’s a very clear divide as to what’s an orgasm. As a visual
📈 - plateau phase, pleasure that slowly rises. Can feel like it goes on forever for some women lol. With a sudden rise in intensity at the end, which explodes into an orgasm.
💥 - orgasm. Feels like tipping over an edge, intense and the peak of pleasure that’s been building up. Vagina pulses rhythmically, while the body involuntarily convulses
That intensity can vary a lot depending on how aroused you are, if you’re taking medication, if you’re drunk, tired, shy, etc. Can definitely make it hard to tell sometimes.
Small fanny pack worn across my chest has changed my life. I’m an activewear type person, but it works for me in most ways. Maybe not a wedding though lol

Try to get a progressive set with more than three weights like this one, so you can have more granular control of the weight increase. The weight you will need to start out with depends on your current level of development. You want to start with the lowest weight and move up. You will probably see good results within a month if you use them consistently.
My partner has this. He also has hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating, a very bad case) for which he had the nerve botox treatment as a child. His doctors have checked him for any medical reason for the ammonia smell and there isn't one. It is still worth it for OP to get checked, but this may be beyond a doctor's purview. I think the smell comes down to the bacteria living on your skin (skin microbiome) and how they metabolize the oils our skin produces.
And my other best advice is deodorant, deodorant, deodorant. Try several kinds. Reapply during the day. It sucks, but it is manageable.

if you’re prone to razer burn i’d suggest a close shave with a shaver instead of a razer.... still looks cute n clean but leaves enough of the hair that you won’t get ingrowns! and then i use the epilator portion for the bikini line or any area i really don’t want visible hair. i use this one: Braun Silk-epil 3-3270 Epilator, 1 Count https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06WGLSRPZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_bGW8FbP4S9Q4J

so, the diva cup was the first menstrual cup I used and it wasn’t effective for me. lots of leakage, felt a bit big and clunky? I have a tilted uterus, so this could be a huge part of it. my best friend swears by her diva cup, but I found another brand (Lena) that I absolutely LOVE and have been using for quite awhile now! it’s cheaper and smaller than the diva cup, and comes in a bunch of cute colors! I also found it way easier to insert. best of luck either way!
The education of males isn't immediate though. There will be a gap. In additional to young women being vocal, it seems to me that there is value in situational awareness. Avoiding grooming behavior, being left alone with certain adults, and being aware of inappropriate behavior and how to process/deal with it. Your mother, in my estranged internet opinion, certainly had your best interest in mind. I also agree that there was probably a better path in protecting you. I was just interested in how you plan on educating your daughter if you were in a similar situation.
FYI: The "male gaze" term was taken from here (which after 15 years of referencing JUST found out was a video series...)
This brand tops all the expensive brands and works a dream. Its powdery rather than liquid-y so it doesn't leak. You can order 6 packs for $17 on amazon.

I highly recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I was 34 when I first read it and it blew my mind how much I didn't know about my own cycle!
Kind of, yes. But there's another amazon option, which looks silly in pictures, but in reality is quite comfortable and not quite the granny panties they appear to be (high enought to avoid muffin top):

These. Thats what everyone has, what everyone expects. We’re using vending machine tampons because we have to, not because we want to.

Whenever anyone mentions concerns about age and pregnancy, I always link to this article.
In particular:
> The widely cited statistic that one in three women ages 35 to 39 will not be pregnant after a year of trying, for instance, is based on an article published in 2004 in the journal Human Reproduction. Rarely mentioned is the source of the data: French birth records from 1670 to 1830.
Mind = blown!
The author also wrote The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant, where she looks at the scientific research behind most common TTC (trying to conceive) things and tells you whether they're worthwhile or not. There's a whole chapter on age and fertility :)
Even if you're not trying to conceive or planning to use charting as birth control, I highly recommend the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book. I learnt SO much!
What you and /u/bannana are experiencing is totally normal. Your cervical mucus changes consistency around ovulation, so that it provides the best environment for transporting the sperm to your egg.
Her book Even Silence Has An End is amazing and barely feels like 600 pages. Her willpower is unmatched, to get her through 6 years in the jungle. As you read through the book, the torture that she wrote about is awful but you can tell that there is a lot she couldn't bring herself to write down in the book, much worse than what she did include.
Anyone who thinks that abortion is to blame for the crisis of the black family in modern America should read The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, which is a brilliant book about how the prison system is essentially being used for state-sanctioned segregation and the creation of a predominantly black, disenfranchised underclass.
The same things that are proven to decrease abortion rates-- access to quality health care and education, lucrative employment opportunities-- are the same things that are proven to decrease incarceration. But the right-wingers (on whom the anti-choice movement is reliant) will never support any of those things.
We ditched the ice, too! We now have one, small, silicone tray for guests.
Have you seen these? They're great for maximizing space. They do have a downside. The lids are not completely water-tight, so they're not the best for portability, unless you put them in a zip-lock.
