Did you change the hz setting to 165? :)
You have to do it manually.
And change the settings in the game as well if it does not change it automatically.
Rolling back to the previous driver worked for me. Glad it wasn't my graphics card overheating or something. Hopefully they update the driver soon because god damn this is annoying.

This same type of issue came up roughly 2 months back with some odd update for either the drivers or a update for the game (Coldwar) but as you may notice, 95% of the time you'll receive an update from Nvidia drivers when CW releases an update and/or shader cache updates.

Not even a TV? But based on that you observed no glitches during start up it’s possible that it is software related and nothing is physical wrong on your screen. Try this as a first step . If that doesn’t work then try this

I think you're correct in picking up the Asus BT Dongle and using that separate software. I was reading this guide on connecting AirPods to a Windows PC and it basically describes the same issue.
One possibility may be that Nvidia recently released a video driver (430.39 WHQL) that was causing excessive CPU churning. I had a very similar problem to yours, and this turned out to be the culprit in my case.
There was a Windows 10 update at some point that overwrote my drivers or something. Not exactly sure why. I'm not using the same system as you, but I used this guide to fix it. Hope it helps!
