You can order dust guards on Amazon that will keep it away.

At the minimum I need to put a shorter ring there. And maybe look for an even more compact holder for the air tag.

Worth noting that it’s called “hard cover case” but it’s actually a little bit stretchy and rubbery which I think is good.

Hi! You might want to check these out. I have these and have recommended to others in my family. They come with 4 pieces in one order (left and right ear x 2).
The best part of these ones, compared to other 3rd party ones, is these can fit your charging case with the lid fully closed. It may be a touch tight at beginning but really have been perfect. Either way, good luck.

They do have a similar case on amazon, but won’t be in stocks for two weeks and the expected shipping is maybe till January
it was featured on gizmodo, a deal from amazon. search for the $15.99 NeotrixQI
edit: should have just posted link: amazon!
It came with a case when I bought a pair of SoundSport headphones.
But turns out Bose sells the cases separately on their website.
or you can go and buy a pack a 5 of these offbrand cases on Amazon.

I see it got a 1 star review. Most people unfortunately DONT follow instructions
Score! I've been using AirPods with my Note9 since the original, upgraded to the second gen just for the wireless charging (and my wife got the old ones). They pair nicely with AirBattery in the Google Play Store (for battery and auto pause features)

Check these out. They work super well and actually gives me a better seal. Be sure to watch the instructional video provided in the description!
Edit: Corrected deal to seal. Was on mobile haha
These tips completely changed the AirPods Pro’s for me. I didn’t have much of a problem with fit, but I found the stock tips to get uncomfortable/itchy after about 30 minutes.
In comparison, the tips I linked to are more tacky so there’s zero movement once they’re in, they seal better so ANC is a bit better, and they are SO incredibly comfortable. The other day I totally forgot they were in my ears… for 3 hours. I was blown away.
10/10 would recommend them to anyone who finds AirPods Pro’s uncomfortable or has bad fit.
Been waiting for a while for one of these Qi AirPods cases to come in stock on Amazon, and finally one did last week. The one I got was the Funxim (https://www.amazon.com/Funxim-Wireless-Charging-Protective-Compatible/dp/B07F7HFXCT/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1533925250&sr=8-3&keywords=airpods+qi) brand one, but it looks like there is another company selling one as well now (they look identical) for a little less (https://www.amazon.com/NeotrixQI-Wireless-Charging-Protective-Compatible/dp/B07FVWBYVV/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1533925250&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=airpods+qi&psc=1). Basically, you just put your existing AirPods case into this case and you can now charge it via a Qi charger. This case obviously adds a little more bulk to the AirPods case, but its not terrible, and I do not take my AirPods out of the house so I really didn't mind.

I sadly cannot remember the gesture combination since I lost it to get safari into reader mode, but it still works if you just manually hit reader mode and the gesture to speak text. In Reader Mode everything gets read without the need to select the text.
Safari + BetterTouchTool + Speak selected text
A partiular gesture would put the article I was reading in Reader View and instantly start reading it out.
Gesture in safari -> Went into Reader Mode -> BTT picked up the gesture to input the hotkey to speak selected text.
Walk away and enjoy.
My gestures: 5 finger click on trackpad or four finger click on magic mouse.
I got something like this a few months ago. Probably need a new one soon, but I was happy enough with them so far. Other cases now come with a neck strap if you want that (I never saw the need, they don’t fall out and I run with them)
Just check the reviews on Amazon, you’ll find the right case for you. There are plenty to choose from.

look under "read more," apparently it's about bluetooth beacon tech.
Yeah, I can vouch for this; I've been using it for the past two weeks and it's been awesome. It has a $.99 in-app purchase to change the interval that it checks your battery life and to have a persistent notification so that you can always see your battery life. You can use it just fine without the purchase. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=friedrich.georg.airbattery
Edit: Wording
The original Airpods just barely stayed in my ears. If I got a little sweaty, just tapping them might cause them to fall out.
When I upgraded to the Pros, they stayed in my ears much better, but they would still get loose from time to time and I'd have to push them back in for better noise cancellation or deeper bass.
I saw the SpinFit tips recommended by someone in a different post, and checked them out. I've only had them a few days and while I haven't used my Pros a lot since then, I'm very happy with them so far, so they might be worth checking out.
Beyond that, I keep a collection of lens wipes around and use them on the whole airpod every few days whenever they start to feel a little greasy.
I have not tried those but I’ve tried other anker stuff and it was good. anker
This did the trick for me
COMPLY Foam Apple AirPods Pro 2.0 Earbud Tips for Comfortable, Noise-Canceling Earphones That Click On, and Stay Put (Assorted Sizes S/M/L, 3 Pairs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088KPNKN2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5EZP10YGCP0K6FCPTHZG
If you find the ear molds don't work, I'd highly recommend trying these tips. I tried the Comply ones and like you, I found they fell apart after a month or so. These tips on the other hand aren't made of foam so they won't fall apart, and they're way tackier than the stock tips so they don't move once they're in your ear (they also seal better too, so ANC is better). And aside from that, I find them to be a lot more comfortable than the stock tips (to the point where I can keep my AirPods Pro's in for hours now... before it was 30-45 minutes max).
I'm not affiliated with the company or anything, I just found them a few weeks ago and have been blown away by how much they improved the AirPods for me.
IMO, yes. This is what I ordered: link They work perfectly fine for me. But I noticed they have a light grey version now, I would order that pack at your own risk lol
Everyone’s ears are different. I had the exact same problem as you. Had even returned my first pair of Pros and only bought them again because of a great Black Friday sale. Even Comply tips did nothing to help. My ears are just different like yours.
What ended up working for me were ear hooks. They hold my AirPods in place snugly and I can barely feel that the hooks are there. The only drawback is that it’s an extra piece to carry since the AirPods don’t fit in the case with them on. But I use the hooks every time and no longer worry about the AirPods falling out.
I have no affiliation to the company. And no guarantee that you’ll have the same results.
I saw at amazon it was available so I ordered too.

On third set. When they work as intended they are amazing. Unfortunately two sets had rattle issues and I’m on third for a few months now and they work great. Another con for me is the ear tips they come with are not too good for my ear shape, had to go with THIS and so far it’s much better than original tip.
I have to agree, get them now. I too was thinking "should I wait" but gave in and I'm thrilled with these so far. I keep seeing the AP2 may come out in 2019(?) Who knows, I just got tired of waiting.
Many Apple stores should have stock now in store..I picked these up from a Verizon store because I used a GC towards them. ** If you choose that, I would call different Verizon stores though to make sure they have them in stock..it took me 8 calls to different stores until I finally found a location that had them.
However, they have them in stock online at Verizon - free shipping 2 day if you're not near an Apple Store. (Apple free shipping on my end is 13 days! - their "Next Day shipping" is $8.00 and states I would get them March 28th...umm?🤔)

I'm going to buy AirPods for my Moto Z Play, thanks for sharing your thoughts on them. Have you ever tried using an app to see battery status? Like batON: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limi.baton I'm curious if it works good with Apple earphones. It worked with my Samsung and Sony bt headphones. Can you try it? Does it show earphones or case battery?
I have been using IFTTT to check for new posts on this sub. Not sure how often it checks, but it seems to be at least once an hour. The notification pops up on my phone/watch and shows the title of the post and a picture if a picture is tied to it. Been working pretty well for me. Figured I would share.
Edit: This applet is the one I use. https://ifttt.com/applets/235137p
yeah on the other hand, that usually never works. your ear shape isnt going to change. i would recommend getting a spinfit tip. first, try to see which size is most comfortable out of the three sizes that come in the box. then, get the corresponding size in spinfit.

you should look into HD58x
$50 cheaper than the 6XX at $170 but you will save another $100-150 as you wont need a DAC/AMP to power the HD58x
If you are listening to music out of an iPad/iPhone/Macbook/Mac you will NOT need an DAC/AMP with the 58x
So with that savings of $50 + $100-150 for a decent DAC/AMP combo you are looking at 75-80% similar sound signature for $200 less - id take that any day of the week especially if this is just going to be your first audiophile purchase and if you have another set of buds like i do with the Airpods Pro
Just my two cents - i did quite a bit of research you wont beat the HD58x at $170
I found a code and got them for $195 with 2 year accidental warranty so when i bend the metal bands to reduce the famous Sennheiser clamp i wont have to worry about breaking them.
Very satisfied with my purchase so far - mainly using the HD58x to listen to lossless and masters from Apple Music out of my Macbook Pro 16" - i could improve the sound with an amp but it gets so loud i am worried about damaging my ears so will most likely skip on an AMP anyways
The beauty of the HD58x is most consumer electronics (barring maybe PS4/Xbox controllers and some shittier PC laptops/desktops with bad sound cards) can power them - especially Apple products they use great DACs and the headphone adapter for $6 is what most people on Reddit claim is your cheapest DAC solution out there.
Picked up this stand for my desk for under $15 as well https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZYTS86X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you have any other questions hit me up! best of luck
Tell your friend to buy these tips, they completely changed the AirPods Pro's for me. They're made of a tackier material than the stock tips, so they don't move at all once they're in your ear. They also are way more comfortable and seal better than the stock tips so ANC works better from what I've noticed. I really can't say enough good things about them.
I think you may be able to pay an out of warranty fee of $69 USD to have the AirPod itself replaced of the look of it is really getting to you. Other than that idk. Maybe one of those silicone pieces that fit over the earpiece in order to give it more stability in your ear? Something like these

Of course do research on which ones look best for you, but they would cover up the damage and I’m pretty certain (haven’t used them before) they would cover the AirPod enough to where you won’t feel the damaged material rubbing up against your ear. Really the best advice I can give that isn’t telling you to buy entirely new AirPods. I would NOT take the risk bringing them somewhere that isn’t an apple certified repair shop to figure something out, it just might not end well.
So you’re going to add a case with a key ring and then use the Apple key ring to add the air tag? Seems bulky. May I suggest double sided adhesive such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Replacement-Double-Sided-Conformable-Christmas/dp/B07G6LT8XQ/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=100+PCS+Adhesive+Replacement+Kit+Double-Sided+Foam+Tape+High+Bond+Dots+Conformable+Acrylic+Glue+Strong+Pad+Mounting+Tape+...
The round ones are perfect size. Just measured.
>... but what if your listening to music and your phones about too die...
Wireless charging is a thing.
Nono not actual liquid. Prep pads can be used for cleaning. I personally use one ever now and again to clean earwax and whatnot off of the AirPods themselves and I’ll clean the case too. They’re completely safe.
Apple hasn’t built an AirPod case with its individual speaker yet. So for now it’s best to buy an AirPods case... case. They usually come with a belt-hook to keep them safe or from getting lost. Here’s a link;

If you do end up having fit issues, I suggest picking up these. I had always had good initial fit with the included silicone tips, but found that they'd loosen up with a little movement or sweat. The foam tips expand to fill the ear cavity and are super secure. I also find that they improve the active noise cancelling feature.

I actually bought a pair of the Spigen TEKA RA200 Airpods Earhooks Cover last week from Amazon. Initially I was hoping to mirror the fit of my different pairs of Bose earbuds, but they were one of the most painful things I have used in a while, even with the small size. They made the airpods hard to insert and the flex pieces press on the insides of your ear. The airpods shape just really didn't mesh well with these covers for me. If you have big ears they might be ok, but I really can't recommend them at all. I returned mine.
One item I did buy that I really love is the Qladcase for AirPods (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYLR8QS). It is exactly the size of the airpods case with a tiny amount of extra thickness so you could stuff a really small cable or something else in. I hooked it to a caribiner and put it on a zipper on my backpack. I had found there were a lot of times it wasn't worth dragging the airpods in my pocket constantly, or misplacing the case, so I just stick them in here.
I'm still debating getting one of the cables to hook them together during high levels of physical activity as I don't have any trouble running or rock climbing in mine. They stayed pretty snug.
Found a similar one on Amazon! :)

They are from Amazon, here’s a link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PZOGHSA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-PcoBbXX0VN08
Yes, they’re pretty comfortable especially when you first put them in but you have to replace them like every 2 weeks or so because they get stretched out and sometimes dirty. I think they help noise isolation and the bass comes through a lot better though. Also if you plan on buying them you should know that you have to modify the covers a little bit. You have to poke out or punch out a hole for the sensors or else you won’t get the feature of music pausing when you take one out. Personally I use a hole puncher or leather punch to make the cover a donut shape by punching the hole in the other side.
I ended up going with Damon Light's protective case. It looks like they do have a dark grey and a black case when scrolling through their color options on Amazon.
I enjoy their case for a few reasons: - Other cases I found the case lid would slowly slide off when trying to open up the lid in just general use. This could just be a pair I had was faulty(?). Sounds like some others ran into similar problems with certain cases from Amazon. - Damon Light's case is two pieces (one for top lid and one for bottom). Due to this, there isn't a hinge like piece extending on the back, which is common for other uni-body cases. It's very minor, but for me, I liked that Damon's case mimicked more of the smooth Apple design. - On the bottom of the existing Airpod case there's the charging port. Some cases have a flap you will have to move when charging with a lightning port. Damon's is a simple cutout that lines up well. Pretty easy, for me to charge and go.

The Metal Cases are Rubbish, They interfere with the Pairing Process, and causes the battery pop up to pop up more infrequent. also they are quite clunky and add an almost unforgiveable amount of weight and bulk to the case. the ear hooks are cool and all but your airpods cant be charged in the case with them so you will have to remove and reinstall them everytime.

TLDR. Don't buy the metal cases look into the Elago Duo Case on amazon really sexy and really compliment the design of the airpods without adding too much bulk and weight.... https://www.amazon.com/elago-AirPods-Body-Jean-Indigo-Top-Classic/dp/B07CKZXKG4/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=elago+duo+case&qid=1554843037&s=gateway&sr=8-3
The Earhooks are kind of pointless.
There are a bunch on amazon that probably all come from the same production line, but these are the ones I bought. Still on my first pair after about 5 months of use. Looks like the price has doubled since I bought them with all of the good reviews.

These: https://www.amazon.com/Proof-Labs-AirPods-Covers-Compatible/dp/B0844WPDY5
It looks like they dropped the price by $1 since when I ordered them.
They came with 3 pairs per box and I'm still using my first pair. My wife lost her first pair though, so it was nice to have 3 sets.
I am in no way affiliated with the store or product other than being a happy customer.
For my AirPods first gen I am using silicone ear adapters that I do not think you can buy. They came with the monster immersion in-ear wired earbuds. I can't speak for independent sellers out there but I fully expect there to be quite a few good solutions and I'd probably pick whatever seemed best if I ever lose these ones.
The squishy things aren’t really the answer. They might help for someone who has the occasional slippage but for someone where they are constantly falling out you are better off with ear hooks. These little guys are a game changer. They’ll keep them tightly secured in the ear, you could turn cartwheels and they aren’t falling out. Ive been using them since Gen 1 airpods and they are great.
> proof labs memory foam tips for them t
I would consider the ear fit test to be quite accurate. I think the test just monitors all the external and in-ear microphones in the AirPods Pro to ensure a good seal. If you find the stock silicone ear tips to be uncomfortable, there are aftermarket memory foam tips such as Dekoni. I’m currently using them and I find no compromise with audio quality etc. much comfier

Guys, help. I also bought the APP via Amazon, and the order says "Sold by: Amazon.com Services LLC". I don't have them yet, they will arrive in February (my family will bring them to me), also there is the serial number they provided. I put it in Apple's website and it says it isn't a valid number. Is it 100% a fake?
Bought them with this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZPC9QD4/
SOLVED: If your serial number starts with an S, remove it, and check again.
AirPods 1 and 2 Gen are perfectly compatible with Android and, if you wish to use all their features, usually available only on Apple systems, you can buy the Assistant Trigger app on the Play Store
I like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.pe.designerj.airbudspopup app a lot. Same problem, they can not order AirPods 2 yet to test. Early threads make me concerned using Pod 2 on Android. At least for now. You can just get the Pod 2 and return them if they don't work. You don't need the Android app to make them work like Bluetooth earbuds.
I use mine with my galaxy - if you're going to i would suggest you also grab AirBatttery- it will offer the more functionality/settings that you get when using them with an ios device

The best tip I heard for cleaning AirPods was to use poster hanging putty to blot the dirty parts - this method is not only super effective, but it's so cheap! The putty is ~$4 for a pack (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001F57ZPW/), and since you really don't need much for each cleaning, it will last you a very long time. Give it a shot! It was a game changer for me.
As an android fanboy who can appreciate both products.
Get them. (if they fit/stay in your ears)
I use them with my Pixel 2 XL and this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotarrow.assistantTrigger
Yes that is typical. Technically that is how it works on iPhones too, it connects when you open the case but iPhones have the ability to detect when the earpods get on your ear, which is when the actual audio is routed to them.
Now the good news is this is possible on Android as well with a third party application (this is why I love android, third party apps can enable new things that are normally not possible). Download AirBattery https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=friedrich.georg.airbattery&hl=en_US and if you pay $0.99 you can unlock the ear detection feature which will let you use the airpods like you used to with iPhones.
AirBattery is free on Google Play Store (with ads and option to pay $0.99/£1.09 for PRO).
Found this thread while searching and thanks to /u/DimitriTooProBro's comment, I searched the play store too. Found the above which seems to work OK from an hour or so of initial use. Can't vouch that it's 100% perfect yet.
Works great on the case and the buds. Very reusable though you might want to toss the first piece.
I do, even though I never really drop mine. Have this case on my gen 2 pros. Use the previous model of it on my gen 1 pros too. It's nice if you don't mind a little bit of added bulk.
And also thee as and added addition if you really struggle for fit with loose fitting ears (everyone is different) as I struggle if I’m going to do a long distance run. These wing tips have to be removed and added every use so that you can store them away back into the case
Proof Labs 4 Pairs for AirPods... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN5DXYSP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Gentlemen,
Reviving this thread once again, as I'm looking to use the Airpods max as my do-everything headphone, including for PC gaming.
I have heard that the quality and spatial sound/soundstage capabilities of the headphones are great for gaming. The only stipulation I hear about is, of course, latency due to the bluetooth codec that is used.
Firstly, how bad is the lag, really? Can we define it quantitatively? If someone were to use it for competitive FPS, how unplayable is it really?
Second, if the codec makes it virtually impossible to play a competitive game without throwing, would a device such as this help at all? I'm not super educated on how different bluetooth codecs work, so maybe the two are incompatible?

If anyone already has a pair of airpods, it may be worth purchasing one of these to test it out!
I personally have this. The case might feel a little thick and bulky but I it gives me more confidence in the case. I got them during black friday for about $9 USD. I can still see the LED charging indicator. The reset/connection button is covered but that's ok because you probably don't want to mess up your connection by accident. It comes with a clip even though there's already a lanyard loop on the side of the original case (there's a hole for that as well).
So I think I mostly solved my issue but I think what I wanted is not possible.
First, a lot of the cheap dongles from Amazon/Slickdeals or whatever, I wouldn't bother with. Most of them do not work very well in Windows 10, meaning, they do not use the Windows 10 Settings interface.
This Asus dongle will work with the Windows 10 Bluetooth settings interface: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ83070/
Once you pair the AirPods you can use them one of two ways for Zoom and what not:
Option 1 is a bad option, the mic cuts out constantly (based on what others say) and sound quality in your ears is bad.
Option 2 is what I have found works best for me. I get good quality sound in my ears and my C920 Logi webcam has a decent mic. Since I am fully remote now I would like to get a proper high quality mic and boom at some point.

What I really wanted was high quality sound in my ear and a high quality mic from the AirPods. This just doesn't seem possible, at least, not on a Windows device. I am guessing that Apple has better drivers on their own devices, but I can't be certain.

Hope this helps! Hopefully I did not miss any steps, but getting that dongle I linked was the game changer for me.
I ordered this Anker stand now, because it's on promotion, can charge both devices at once and is an actual stand.
Could you confirm that this is not gonna wreck my airpods pro 2s? Or my Iphone 13?
What about this stuff? Link
I use one of these gel thing from amazon, it works well for my case.
You can try a hearing aid vacuum. Maybe a elder family member already has one.
That's what I use:
It's a "cleaning dough" and works beautifully, especially for cleaning Airpods and this kind of mesh on InEars in general. Not sure if this or something similar is available where you live, though.
I had a consumer reports account awhile back and quite a few are on par with regular airpods. This one I remember. There are others as well.
Depends on how you clean them. Many people do it wrong and basically press and kind of ear wax or dirt into the grill by applying a bit too much force while "cleaning".
The best way to clean them, even if they are already getting much quieter, is to use something like this:
It's called "cleaning dough" in German and really works wonders. My wife had the same problem as you have with her 3rd gen Airpods and after trying this method, they're working, sounding and looking like new again. Thank me later :)

I believe these are them. At least the ones I just found to order. If anyone can confirm?
I have this one. It works pretty good. It charges on my Apple Watch charger . I dropped it from my apartment staircase the other day. The case got a little dusty but that’s it
This is the case I’ve used for my 1st gen Pros and now 2nd gen. It blocks the speaker but otherwise has perfect dust and water protection:
I see no one has mention Google Pixel buds. Their main feature is for real-time translation. Patrick of Lifehacker explains it perfectly: https://lifehacker.com/here-s-how-to-translate-languages-with-google-s-pixel-b-1820889177
Couldn't find an app that would work with airpods :S
It blocks and muffles the case speaker, but the catalyst case is good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081PN43LC
(I don’t care about the case speaker because I still added an airtag to it. Yes, I know the case has built-in airtag functionality, but the airtag has much longer battery life.)
