> Are selfhosters so commited to being selfhosters that they don't mind the extra work?
By definition, yes. Nothing whatsoever about selfhosting is easier than using the Cloud (except for "please delete all of my data and prove that you did it"). And that ultimately is why I self-host: it is worth the extra effort for me to know what is going on with my shit.
Recently I got on Jamendo. You're not going to find anything there from a big-name artist. But it's all Creative Commons stuff, and I'm actually finding some things I really like. And since it's CC, you can download whatever you enjoy legally.
All that popular music is produced by the same damn companies that want to restrict your Internet access, so fuck them, and fuck artists that work with them.
look friend. I understand you are frustrated. Consider this as a background, may be it will help you change your perspective. I just survived heart attack. I am released form hospital and on my road to recovery. I still like to make people smile so I post when I can. But it also mean that I do not have all the tools in my possession at all times to respond to some of the questions with all the details. Regardless of what is going on with me, I do not want you to be upset with me. I got on the computer and looked for the information you asked for. I got this track from here: https://www.jamendo.com/track/1499814/funk-hip-hop-harmonica-solo
I hope you are no longer upset and we are cool :))
Just in case
Technically you can license parts of a soundtrack through your country‘s performance rights organisation. For Germany it’s GEMA, for the US it’s BMI or ASCAP (AFAIK). You’d have to pay royalties for the use of the track.
However, I recommend commissioning a composer to create unique music for your game instead if you want your game to stand out! I’m sure there are plenty of promising young talents who’d happily take the job and tailor the music to the situation you want to portray. Do pay them fairly though!
Either that or you can look for royalty-free music online. You pay one set fee and are allowed to use it as you wish. Or use Creative Commons music, which you can find on sites like Jamendo. Depending on the type of CC license, some tracks can be used for free, as long as you credit the artist.
*Wedding march for a bullet Très cool aussi
They are actually under the creative commons license as it says on the jamendo page https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a107999/malediction - for example. Sorry, I must've forgotten to mention that in the original post!
When it comes to piracy, my immediate thought is how much we're under utilizing the software for it. If you were to download something in your browser and your connection blips, it'll corrupt the download and you'll need to start from scratch. Torrenting doesn't have that much of an issue, it's slower and does require more bandwidth but overall it's more stable and reliable. But we're only ever using it for pirating music, games and porn (I think we should pay for porn in the same way we pay for other forms of entertainment.) So even though we have the technology, I think it's wasted and unnecessarily disparaged for how much it's used to download warez and other crunk.
I also think Piracy doesn't have to be a thing, taking a cue from u/_lightfantastic comment about the Pirate Party, is that there is an analogue for a Creative Commons/Open Culture Party. Rather than everything should be free, there are acknowledgements that there already is a lot of really good things free available already. There's music on Jamendo (90% of my music is from here; https://www.jamendo.com/en and it's fantastic, some bands have store pages off-site, do local gigs and make money elsewhere or only throw up one or two albums out of their discography as a free sample) then there's Libri Vox that makes audio books from works already in public domain, including a number of philosophy treatsies. ( https://www.librivox.org/ ) there are legitimate alternatives to piracy that don't evoke quite polarizing moral conundrums. Even though things can be good and free, I still buy things or donate to show support.
if you want smooth viper
Great initiative! But I feel like they could've added some more/better links. http://manybooks.net/ is a much more user friendly place to download books from Gutenberg, and they have a lot more in addition. Also, Jamendo is great for music!
Airtime is pretty sweet, but forget the pro hosted version - there's a free community edition that you could (learn to) run on any VPS... If you don't need all the bells and whistles of Airtime's fancy web GUI, it uses liquidsoap as the (clever) back end. Liquidsoap (by savonet) runs a lot of Internet radio and for good reason - Its Awesome, and it's scripting language is pretty straightforward to pick up and get some moderately complex automation going without too much difficulty.
BUTT just sends audio from your Windows PC to your streaming host, so you'd still need a server running e.g. Icecast2 for your listeners to connect to. Since you have a server running anyway, it makes sense to run the bulk of your automated 24/7 stuff on that same machine with either Airtime or Liquidsoap. Both of these make it easy for you to connect to that from your home machine and take over to do a "live" show, either via BUTT or direct from your local DJ software - I know Mixxx can connect directly to and Icecast relay point, and I expect the likes of Traktor or Ableton would too. Whatever you decide you'll probably learn a lot by reading the docs on the liquidsoap site linked above.
With free & open source software and a bit of reading and effort you should be able to run a 24/7 online radio station on a fairly basic VPS from the likes of Digital Ocean, Vultr or Lineode etc for around $5 a month to get started.. move up as you need more disk space and bandwidth if it grows.
Your biggest problem will be licensing the music if you want to play commercial stuff that everyone knows. you'll need licenses for both storage and public performance - details vary based on your location -- and possibly your audience location too (hence why some services have geographic restrictions). You can get around that by only playing Creative Commons licensed music e.g. from Jamendo.
That's not free. Here's the URL to search for only free culutre tracks (it'll take a while for the results to load after the search bar): https://www.jamendo.com/en/search?qs=fq=license_cc:%28-nd%20AND%20-nc%29&q=*:*
Yeah I definitely wouldn't ever replace the music, because it's extremely soothing and nostalgic. But I have been using a (personally curated and edited) version of Fantasy Soundtrack Project for like 7 years as a supplement to the vanilla music, and many of those tracks are now equally nostalgic and relaxing to me. this one that plays in towns for example, immediately puts in me in the same headspace as Ancient Stones.
I can't really think of anything that I absolutely wouldn't mod. I guess I mostly stay away from dragon and creature overhauls, since I generally find what they add to just be obnoxious or ridiculous.
Some songs are really hard to find links for after the fact, It was a few years in before I started tracking things more accurately on this level. So much of this grew organically over the years and was never planned. So I didn't start building my db of links until later.
There is one song by Fudge - "Gone Bad" that I cannot find again.
Best suggestion I can give for tracks I don't have links for is they are most likely from jamendo.com, bandcamp, or freemusicarchive.org. They are easily the 3 biggest sources I have used over the years to find music.
As far as FOUR - Youth https://www.jamendo.com/track/1243203/youth
I have another spreadsheet that all my links source from. But it doesn't have the votes tied to them. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b-t6mGEEDZiTyFjAXqo8nAV6-JwiTbFO04Rx0oYnasc/edit#gid=0

Brad Sucks
artist pic
> Brad Sucks is the stage name of the artist Brad Turcotte, whose "one man band with no fans" was among the first to take full advantage of the free culture movement for advertising and distribution. (He is not to be confused with Brad Turcotte, the manager of Compadre Records.)
> Turcotte opened his website in 2002 with the intention of producing "open source music". His self-produced single, Brad Sucks One, included the audio source files used to create the finished files, and later he posted these source files to his website along with the MP3s.
> Turcotte waives all rights to his songs, essentially making them public domain. This total freedom allows him to promote his music through sites such as Magnatune and ccMixter, as well as Myspace and Podsafe. Since he was one of the first to make this decision, he also received free publicity through blogs and interviews in free culture magazines. His first full CD, I Don't Know What I'm Doing, was released both through Magnatune and a limited "professional" printing from his own website.
> Turcotte also runs the website stripcreator.com , which allows participants to create their own talking-head webcomics. He is also the creator of in4mador. He is also listed on Sellaband, a website where artists co-ordinate raising money to record an album.

Kraftwerk, Philip Glass, Jonas Hellborg, Queen instrumental, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Infected Mushroom, a wide range of electronic, soundtracks from computer games, movie soundtracks without lyrics: Das Boot, Siesta, Kontrol etc, lounge music from Jamendo, Spotify premium, classical and so on.
Disclaimer: some of the mentioned above I can listen only while working - I can't stand it otherwise :)
I think this genre is not popular enough yet nor created in large amounts to have a lot of royalty free tracks.
However, with some tweaking and a dash of luck, you may find something on Jamendo or perhaps CCMixter. Often, you'll have more luck searching for 'swing', 'big band' 'balkan', 'gypsy' or similar.
Also, Soundcloud search has an option to filter for commercial licenses.
But yeah, it would be awesome to have more artist jump in! :)
Music is indeed a hard one and I find my-self sometimes taking more time finding and selecting the music than actually editing the video. Some valueable sources I use are:
YouTube provides also lots of free music
Hope that helps
Paragon vs Ragnaros is my absolute favorite, bar none. The Lich King video is amazing, the Lei Shen one is great as well, but Ragnaros was a cinematic epic all on its own. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the music may have been written custom for this as well. The soundtrack by Celestial Aeon Project was released on the same day of the kill video and contains all the music used.
The Ragnaros video has the best voice acting snippets, the best music, crazy good fight mechanics, an epic transition into Ragnaros with Feet, and a fantastic ending. Its the complete package of kill video, and the best for me.

Read and Sign up here: https://www.jamendo.com/en If your music is good enough and fits with the wishes of the potential client it will be chosen for a specific radioplaylist (clients can use your music for instore projects/ video and will pay for it), you can earn a few bucks. Hurray for Jamendo and self-hosted artists. Some of my favorites, who give you all four freedoms with their music and not just #0 are:
Enemies of Enormity - union and hope
Not even on youtube just on Jamendo whatever the fuck that is. Hard to find it sometimes but I love the track.
Yes! It's essentially the party's theme music. There's the "Main" version I play when I intro the session (and recap the story thus far) like opening credits, and then there's an "Action" version that I play during important battles which always gets the players pumped up.
Personally, the music I play during the game is as much a character as any NPC, as I strive to really create a cinematic vibe for settings, encounters, moments, etc.
Music by Crucifixión.
Crucifixión is a solo act from Spain with an impressive catalog of songs. You can find them at https://www.jamendo.com/artist/353656/crucifixion. There are definitely some gems in here.
The Jamendo site has a nice assortment of artists releasing under Creative Commons. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for non-commercial music.
First stop could be always be Jamendo, since Creative Commons licensing and royalty-free music has been always been a big scene; record companies and status quo just make it feel like nothing else exista or that it's all bad and niche.
Can someone explain to me why Rone did not credit the following artist after taking part of his song and using it the song ‘Gravity’?:
https://www.jamendo.com/track/49523/shipwrecks
Plagiarism?
https://www.jamendo.com/ has a lot of Creative Commons music as well - some of it is not for commercial use, some of it is not to be remixed, but there's a lot to choose from :)

Hey, if you want some free (weeeeird) audio, I just uploaded a bunch of tracks made (mostly) with my homemade stuff. https://www.jamendo.com/album/187791/diy-synth-junk
Have a great day!
This is licensed music, availabe for purchase at this link. "Friends" is not capitalized in the above title because it also remains lowercase in official materials. Though the piece came out in 2016, I make it a rule that any licenced music released before the 3 year release window is fair game if the most popular video of it on YouTube has less than 10,000 views.
Here is the full soundtrack, composed of nearly entirely licensed music.

Shot with a Sony a6000 + Sony SEL50F18, using the timelapse app of the camera itself (for the curious, settings were one shot each 3 seconds, f/5.6, can't remember the shutter speed, sorry).
Music is Jerome Faria - Release, under Creative Commons.
I've got a few eclectic instrumental albums For Your Pleasure Vol.1-5) on Jamendo: example song Roll The Rock

My name is Ed Hernandez and I am a graphic designer, illustrator, musician, composer and aspiring screenwriter.
I’ve had a good amount of success as a designer-illustrator (http://www.scriptron.com) and a music composer/ both for personal use and business (https://www.jamendo.com/artist/494004/ed-hernandez-ce1k). My dream, of course, is to become a successful storyteller.
In my life, I’ve written 5 complete screenplays (a few here: https://www.scriptrevolution.com/profiles/ed-hernandez) and some TV pilots. My favorite genres are many but the one I gravitate the most to is Sc-Fi, Action, and Western. Ironically enough, my favorite screenwriters is a comedian, John Cleese. I have others like James Cameron, George Lucas, and many more.
My question: what steps should I take to achieve my goal of being a successful screenwriter?
Ed
Good job! If you are interested in new music options, you are more than welcome to use Celestial Aeon Project as well - they are creative commons non-commercial! https://www.jamendo.com/artist/2740/celestial-aeon-project
Stop using the music immediately and scout for something else. Some options:
Be sure to respect the specific Creative Commons licensing terms of the artist/tracks.
It never hurts to have incidental music for special features or a different outro theme (some of my favourite TV shows do this).
Personally, I don't have a standard theme. I've used a different music intro for every show since 2015. I've never run out of good music. (Still quite a large queue to use, actually).
You should have a look at the new book from Creative Commons. It's about both getting the word out about CC licensed work, and earning money from it. http://madewith.cc/
Also: You need to take every opportunity to get more eyes/ears on it, like linking to it here ;) I'd love to check it out.
PS: Are you on Jamendo?
Stray Stumming by I AM THIS
Electric acoustic nonsense that was the background for some YouTube video with 90 views. Now I've downloaded all this guy's stuff.
You're welcome! If you want to hear it, the only decent recording I have of the guitar is this e.p.: https://www.jamendo.com/album/38175/supertele
It's basically the red special into a fender twin, nothing more, nothing less. Definitively non-Queen material :)
Josh Woodward - Memory Replaced. I'm a big supporter of the whole free culture scene and was looking for some good creative commons artists to listen to. Didn't expect to get something so stuck into my head as this song is right now.
My personal soundcloud is for demos/rough cuts/melodies that I post on forums as examples.
Lyonn is my actual project https://www.jamendo.com/artist/440873/lyonn
No love lost, I'm always open to criticism.
Royalty free music. Quite some stuff is under NC (non-commercial) which is a problem if you want to monetize your videos later, but I assume they have an option to filter those ;)
I'm not sure where you are, but in the US, publication establishes an implicit copyright. You can't use something that hasn't been explicitly copyrighted; it's still protected. Of course, the copyright laws are different for other countries, so there may actually be places where published works can be uncopyrighted. I don't know of any.
If you're looking for works where the author has explicitly disclaimed their rights under a free-to-use/copy license, I'd recommend looking at http://search.creativecommons.org/. Jamendo in particular has some nice genre sorting: https://www.jamendo.com/community/electronic/tracks
Sadly, I don't know any tracks that specifically meet your needs.
This person makes some great 8 bit music. You may like it. https://www.jamendo.com/artist/443674/rolemusic.
There was an open source escape/programming game that used some of this music. I cannot remember the name of the game.
Anyone can use these licenses, it doesn't stiffle them at all that way.
I suppose not being able to use propriatory stuff inside could stiffle, although it being nonlibre stiffles people not being able to use it either.
And of course not being able to make people pay for the stuff via licensing could stiffle being able to make money off it..(of course could always try donation/payment-w/o leverage route) Don't think that is really the case, here, and arguably in many other cases.
Anyway, the tradeoff is for the person, including those running servers him/herself to decide. I'd prefer free culture stuff. I like lots of free music, like Lukhash, or Triplexity, btw.
I just finished replaying Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective the other day, and I have to say it is probably one of the best mystery/thriller stories I've ever seen in any form of media. Made by the same team who made the original Ace Attorney trilogy, but much less well known.
The Talos Principle is a masterpiece of storytelling. I am a sucker for the type of game that reveals its story through piecing together scraps of information rather than a coherent plot, but this game goes even deeper than that. Tons of philosophical musing and discussion on the nature of what it means to be human, but it's done in a way that feels meaningful and thoughtful.
Thomas Was Alone is a very simple game with a simple story, but for its simplicity it is still actually rather powerful and has a great deal of personality.
Our Darker Purpose is a roguelike with a very similar style to The Binding of Isaac, but unlike most roguelikes it's actually a bit plot heavy, with a good amount of lore to find and discover. Darkly humorous but also with just the right amount of mystery. Plus the main menu theme that plays when you're reading the lore is just haunting.
Not German but thought I'd post this here incase anybody is interested. One of my favourite producers in Trip-hop/Hip-hop is a guy called Moodstarrr from Germany. He uses English samples in his own albums but he has worked with a few German rappers on their albums. Maybe you guys would like to check him out. All his music is free.
I have chatted with him a few times too. Hit him up on facebook or wherever else if you have any questions about his work, he will probably be happy to help!
If you have any constructive feedback or ideas to improve the website, feel free to use the contact form https://www.jamendo.com/contact. But you need also to be aware of the fact that jamendo does not have a huge team of developers, so changes might not happen the day after something got suggested ;) I'm sure every feedback gets considered but as any user prefers something different, in the end the result might not please everyone.
The explanation of which tracks can be used in videos or not is now better explained, the download box has been updated to be more clear. Hopefully this helps the users to better understand which tracks can be used for example on youtube and which not.
The problem is the users often think that any song under cc license can be used in videos, but that's not the case, songs under CC-BY-ND for example can not be used in videos as a video is considered a derivated work. There is also a new page that trys to help to understand the licenses: https://www.jamendo.com/legal/licenses.
Oh and there is also "jamendo licensing" where you get a commercial license of the song for your video, the price is very low compared to the advantages you get.
Well think of it this way, if your music is cc-by, people can basically use it for free. This means you are in a tiny minority, and people may be actively searching for cc-by music to use, for that very reason.
If you pick a noncommercial license, you're just another cc artist in a field of millions. Only effective promotion can push your music into a place where it will be heard. I am the absolute worst at promotion, and my songs are produced at an amateur level. I am a songwriter and nothing more than that.
I thought it would be worth a try. By putting it in that special category, I might get noticed, which is more than nothing. Having said that I wouldn't do it again.
Here is the album: https://www.jamendo.com/album/30992/comedown
Thanks for doing this, op!
some nice electro music - you can download it legally since it uses creative common copyright^^
Lots of various, instrumental music on Jamendo, for example: https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a151497/for-your-pleasure-vol.2-2015 and https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a140485/for-your-pleasure-vol.1-2014
Robin is great! Some of you may recognise him as the guy who sung 'Fuck off back to Eton' to David Cameron earlier this year. He also releases his music for free under CC, over here.
I don't know if this really qualifies as a "hit single" but I hope somebody appreciates it. It's the poppiest of my songs, I guess, but it's still pretty pretty dark synthpop/electronic stuff.
pgcd - "Ritual to Conjure the Knowledge of the Dead"
The full album is called "A Primer describing exotic Feats, of Interest to the Student of the Work" - this should give you an idea of the subject matter.
And I notice I can actually link the whole album, so here it is (on Bandcamp, use the Jamendo link for the free download):
pgcd - "A Primer describing exotic Feats, of Interest to the Student of the Work"
I use jamendo when streaming for music due to the more liberal licensing. Normally the electronic radio.
Wish I could point to which song it was, but I don't remember
I have to mention an album that used this shot as its cover: Songs of vastness
I've listened to it for several years and it's just great atmospheric music.
I'm a musician! Here's a link to some old stuff: https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a69584/juicing-the-spectrum
Working on some new stuff but it's pretty rough right now...not like the album above wasn't, haha.
Incompetech and Jamendo might contain what you're looking for.
I believe most of the music on Jamendo is free to use. Still, check the creative commons. I personally haven't had any copyright issues uploading personal videos to YouTube.
If you want to get free (as in free beer) music, you can go to https://www.jamendo.com/.
If you want it to also be free as in free speech, you need to filter the search-results by license on that site, but there is a lot of that too.
I have two suggestions but they may not quite be the sound you are going for https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/p89136809/electroswing and
Tab's Chasing Rabbits and Bi-Polar Bear's Today I Found Happy are pretty good.
I really enjoy the Celestial Aeon Project on Jamendo.com Jamendo is totally free and unlimmited to listen and download from! CAP makes beautiful instrumental music. I think Old Wizard from the Fable album would be awesome to listen to under the stars! It reminds me of a Tim Burton movie.
Take a look at Professor Kliq on Jamendo. Has a couple of tracks somewhat similar to this - excellent for background music while working. Fav album would be Community Service II
https://www.jamendo.com/en/search?qs=q=artist_name:%22professor%20kliq%22&start=15
I used to live above a 24 hour "Herna" which is a gambling bar which sold heroin and pervatin ( cheap meth... yes. it exists ) and all night I would hear people fighting, and going psycho, and smashing car windows ( since next door was a 24 hour bazar which would buy stolen goods ) . So I made these songs to listen to while I slept. It worked. Here's the album , it's free to download.
Hello everyone!
I recently started publishing my music and i would like to have some feedbacks on it. I could ask my close family or friends but it's taking the risk they tell me it's great just because they don't want to upset me ;) I'm doing music for several years but I had never really thought about sharing my music to others, and then I discovered that I could share my music without particular artistic pretensions and just share it for people to enjoy ( or not :) ) on Jamendo, soundcloud and now reddit of course, I thought it was a good way to share what I do without having claims other than what it really do : Music as a hobby. My music is in creative common licence. Listen, share, download, use it if you like ( but not commercialy )
I listen to a lot of film music and it is quite naturally the music I do the most. but recently, I explore new things. Electro and some more weird thing :) I gladly take all the feedback you can give me, I have so much to learn yet :).
I've made 2 Playlist that you can call albums :) and several stand alone tracks My most recent track : https://soundcloud.com/r_u_d_y_m/sandcrawler (the link in the title, electro)
My other songs are also on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/r_u_d_y_m/ or Jamendo https://www.jamendo.com/fr/artist/455493/r-u-d-y , don't hesitate to let me feedbacks, that is what I expect the most.
Oh, I'm French by the way so i'm sorry if i mispelled something.
And unrelated but : JE SUIS CHARLIE
I recently discovered jamendo, a website full of royalty free music, and I've been listening to it pretty much constantly whilst playing games. Either the soundtrack or metal radios suit my fancy. :)
> In terms of music there is, of course, Spotify
TBH I prefer Jamendo. https://www.jamendo.com/en No problem with devices, licensing and other limitations. No problem with listening after your subscription expire... And a lot of great music.
I started playing piano around the age of 7, then I picked up guitar when I was 15. Also played the cornet in a marching band in highschool for a couple of years, bamboo flutes and ukulele. Can also play some basic rhythms on a drum kit and dabbled with synthesizers and digital audio production. And I sing constantly when at home. Creating music is a source of much joy, but I don't take it seriously; it's just "fun and play." Kind of relaxing.
Edit: Just remember I posted a song some years ago (2009) on Jamendo, during the time when I was experimenting with programmed music, MIDI instruments and software synthesisers. You can listen to it here if you want (free streaming). At that time I was really inspired by theoretical physics and I was working on a "space themed" album.
I really enjoyed listening to you guys. I'm at work and was able to have you on in my head phones. The only thing I felt lacking was maybe some music.
You can find free stuff on this website: https://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/437980/music-for-your-media which I use sometimes. But I found contacting other music based Youtubers can be a great source of collaborating.
It's great that you had done your research you actually taught me some stuff! I love pokemon and haven't missed a game since it first came out so that was a nice surprise.
I've subscribed to your channel and will watch/listen to some more later. I hope that overtime you both become a little more confident on the mic as well as there is still a little bit of apprehension in your voice.
Other than that maybe a short video introduction would be nice if you have a camera. Just to see who is talking. But thats just me I like to put faces to voices, not every one would care about that sorta thing.
Keep it up!
Some of the songs by Floating Isle, available at https://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/371725/floating-isle, may be appropriate and/or "akin to an anime feel". I'm not sure how their previous albums are licensed, but their most recent, CRYSTAL POWERED ENGINES (https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a139769/crystal-powered-engines) is licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. Cheers and happy hunting!
thanks a lot! in your case maybe you could link to the following page then:
https://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/349009/creo
on this site, when you click on one of the songs it has this creative commons reference on it - i hope this works for you
Technically not my music, but a new album launched CC-BY, at the moment launching on Spotify and the rest, with my help: https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a140446/run-run-superman (be sure to buy the album on Google Play, iTunes, Amazon or wherever you like and it becomes available when it becomes available this week and the next.)
For 2/3 of the band, after 20 years of music this is the first release, thanks to accepting instead of fighting the internet. I think they deserve some love and a fair try ;).
And yes, I have this album on all the time now.
I've used Jamendo (https://www.jamendo.com/en) before to find some good music for videos. If anything is labeled "Pro" then it's a paid track, otherwise it's free and you need to abide by the CC licensing.
I don't listen to much instrumental stuff, but I quite enjoy The Dreamer's Paradox by JT Bruce. It is available for free from that website (it is released under a Creative Commons free license). There's some choir-style, non-lyrical vocals in places, and the last track has some spoken word stuff, but apart from that it is instrumental and pretty cool, IMO.
