You can get around this with odrive. Files/directories can be shared without being set as shareable, and it obfuscates the source account. Only downside is that public users can't download directories, only individual files.
I feel your pain.. I contacted Google and was told middle of 2021.. I considered moving somewhere else but I use all Google services..
One work around that is working for me is an app called odrive (https://www.odrive.com/).
They support Mac M1 and it's a sync service that works with all major services. Most importantly it supports having the file structure but not having to download the files. So you can browse and access all your files like filestream, add new files etc which will sync.
Some important features are locked behind a pay wall (like being able to unsync a file to remove it) but I mostly use for smaller files so by time that limit starts annoying me hopefully Google would have got it together..
Anyway hope that helps somewhat.
Well, currently I'm looking into odrive. Supposedly good speeds, but their linux documentation is extremely poor. Having troubles figuring out how to move my data to my server in order for it to upload to a Google account.. :/
> Pallete Swap Tyro (Green, Yellow, Red, White, Black)
I actually made that, you can swap the sprites by editing the cache files.

I'm using odrive for syncing changes to and from ACD (As the ACD client provided by amazon is garbage) + Boxcryptor Classic for encryption.
odrive provides encryption itself, but only in the annually paid Pro version, that's why I'm using Boxcryptor (The old classic version, not V2) to encrypt my files, which is basically just a nice GUI for EncFS on Windows.
Seems like it shares some features with Odrive but i definitely like the option of making things available locally or just remain symbolic links - regardless it's pretty cool to see continuous innovation.
For now, you could save money using Amazon's unlimited cloud storage. It's only $5 for a year. Normal price is $60 or so after that, so be sure you cancel after that if you want to switch to something else
https://www.amazon.com/gp/drive/landing/everything/buy
Edit: If you go ahead and buy this, it's recommended to use the 3rd party app** "odrive"** to help manage your files, because the native Amazon app is supposedly not great: https://www.odrive.com/
If you have a smartphone - specifically an iPhone - you can hold the home button and tell Siri, "Remind me in 363 days to cancel Amazon cloud backup". Otherwise you can set a reminder on Google Calendar, and sync that with your android phone... or just with your email.
Unfortunately, not really.
It used to be that you could use rclone to that end, but since rclone was banned from amazon, that is no longer possible, and from cursory research, other programs that would allow you to do that, like acd_cli, are also banned from amazon, or, like odrive, are paid programs (according to my cursory research, it looks like you might be able to get away with just using their free tier if you don't mind syncing those photos to your computer first).
Looks like odrive works ok (on Linux, haven't tried Windows or MacOS, which it claims to perform). If I set up an LXC container on the NAS and push the sync up, does that make sense as an alternative to Hybrid Cloud backup? For those of you trying to vulture on Amazon for free backup, I am only looking at it to sync a few personal folders (I pay for the 1TB/yr subscription).
As usual, no GUI for Linux - on Windows and MacOS, it looks like this can be set up easily enough on a desktop; but I want to do this on my QNAP NAS, and have it run as a daily job. It would be on client jobs to back up to the appropriate NAS folder if they want it saved off to Amazon Cloud Drive.
If I can get this working I may send odrive some money for a premium subscription just to say "Thanks" (and a big "FU" to Amazon for the inconvenience - they can tell who's a paying customer and who isn't).
Take a look at odrive.
It's a multi cloud client.
For Linux there's only the cli, but I managed to get it integrated with Kde.
I'm from mobile, I can share more details later if you like.
> Cache not clearing up could be solved by manually deleting it, but (correct me if i am wrong) that would also remove files marked for offline access, right?
Correct. For me wasn't a big deal but for what you've described it basically kills that use case.
> So what do you suggest to keep the FS folder in sync with my SSD?
Google offers a drive app called Backup and Sync which works as described. I am also a fan of the application odrive, it's amazingly useful and works with multiple cloud providers - it populates a directory with placeholders, and when you want to sync a file you just right-click it. Been extremely reliable for me, and helped me so much in university.. I've only ever used the free version.
Thanks. Found on other manuals with specific part number. Pulley set is same number so I assume individual pulleys will also be same.
Still can't find where to buy tough :/

Adam from Backblaze here. I've been playing around with some rclone and b2cli background sync processes, and those work decently well, but being command line it can be a bit daunting.
But with a friendly GUI and Finder integration like Dropbox - check out Mountain Duck or odrive.
Not sure which quirks these will have, but they're worth trying. Let me know what you think of them!
As for renaming and ExpanDrive, it's possible that it's a B2 limitation (sort of). In B2, there's no renaming - but we added server side copy a few months back, so integrations can effectively rename (by server side copying file to the new name, and removing the original file). Perhaps ExpanDrive just needs to work on that.
We have a blog post on the topic of GUI/file browser integrations as well.
You can take a look at ODrive, it supports many cloud services including google drive, I have not used it myself but I have seen someone use it. It has a beautiful GUI if I remember correctly. https://www.odrive.com/
Here is a link to the folder with all the files. Thanks in advance for having a look!
P.S. Please ignore the keymap files with numbers after them, they are previous versions.
P.P.S. Ideally, if/when I can get the capslock tap dance working, I'd like to add the Esc key tap dance I have in keymap0.c. Is there an easy way to do this?
Odrive should do what you want..
Set it up to sync your SFTP account, it'll show you everything, but only sync what you tell it to (or if you try to access something that's not synched)
Ugh yeah that sounds rough. Google account hell is.... hell. I doubt you'd be able to run multiple instances of File Stream.
There are tools that do this like https://www.odrive.com/
Honestly this is a very messy way to organize. I'd move all of this definitely shared data to a single Team Drive that's owned by IT, then setup the hierarchy and permissions for each LLC along with common spaces.
I use odrive to pull all the pics from multiple google photos accounts (Mine, Wife, Daughter) and put them into multiple local folders, which I nested inside the media center\photos folder on a local drive. Then I just told Plex to display those photos. Works like a charm. I can delete from google, and odrive syncs the local deletion, or vice-verse, I can delete the photo in plex and odrive syncs the deletion to the device.
I love rclone. I am using right now. That being said, if you are working on desktops, you might want to check out odrive. They have Linux clients as well as Windows and Mac.
To answer your questions, yes, use the same client_id on both hosts. I have done this and am doing this. No need for the team option.
We're you trying using the upload through a web browser or through a sync app. I had some trouble with failing uploads to Amazon Cloud drive, for instance, using the default app that they want you to download. I then started using a service called odrive ( https://www.odrive.com/ ) to get better file syncing with amazon and everything got uploaded. It is $10 a month but maybe try that, I think they have a free trial, to upload to Gdrive. The app supports many storage services.
Yep, look into https://www.odrive.com/
I have my G Suite work, Google drive personal, and Dropbox free all synced to my computer via their client and it works well.
Google is also working on G Drive File Stream which is beautiful (look it up), have been in the EAP for it and it it's working well. Wouldn't be surprised if they allowed for multi account in the future with their new client though.
Regardless, oDrive works beautifully and it's better too than a normal sync client because you don't need to sync all files and folders and the folder structure still exists locally.
odrive has a monthly fee, only the sync to odrive is free: Unified sync folder to everything in odrive.
So, after the trial period, it stops syncing to amazon unless you pay for it...
What operating system? Mac/Linux look for FUSE, under Windows, I think there's some paid services out there but they're not exactly cheap. I think ODrive some something similar (When you request a file to edit, it downloads it, then automatically deletes it locally after a few days).
There's Odrive which has placeholders, download on demand and automatic unsync to keep disk space free and more. Unfortunately those features require paid version. It's really nice though.
I did some maths a couple of weeks ago and totted up the values of the packages. https://www.odrive.com/s/7170228c-5449-49a9-8bd7-b8259b00e504-57449d9d
and if my maths are correct the $5K War Pack is also worth considering from a value for money perspective (even more so if you care about the hangar and character fluff that it includes that the more recent Armada Pack et al look to be missing), thought it's the only one of the old style packages that is.

That's so strange. I'll show you exactly what I did. (I used Windows Steps Recorder to record my installation). Also, the link to my daily autocorrect script is posted:
I would love to see those Smart Files that OneDrive used to implement be reinstated. Being able to view all of the files on the cloud from Windows Explorer without taking up any local storage space was great, and is one of the most essential uses for a cloud IMO. I actually just came to this sub looking for any cloud providers that might offer something similar - I'm on the hunt...
/u/georgek9999, I just came across a service called odrive which consolidates folders and files from multiple cloud services into one place. Might be useful? But it seems like you've got a pretty sweet solution figured out already. You mind sharing what program you're using? Sounds like something I might want to check out.
Odrive also appears to have something similar to that Smart File / placeholder feature I'm looking for, I'm playing around with it now to see how it works..
If you want more useful information for amazon drive look for a program called odrive. It's a bit more useful for seeing what the hell is going on and which files amazon has rejected for upload. Amazon cloud is a bit goofy to me in how it handles files and the downgrade in there uploader to discourage people from using it as mass storage is annoying.
