Could you please test Bubble Cloud Launcher on it?
Dev here with no access to the Huawei Watch.
Thank you.
PS I can give you complimentary Premium upgrade if you pm your google account email address.
A recurring question here on /r/androidwear if there is any way to prevent the horizontal swipe gestures from switching watch faces in Android Wear 2.0. I found a way that overrides the left-to-right gesture completely and the right-to-left partially. This, combined with the screen lock functionality of my watch face should completely eliminate this annoyance with the new UI.
Preparation:
As shown in the video, your left-to-right swipes will take you to the app drawer even if you start on the ambient screen, and even if you don't start the swipe at the very edge of the screen.
Right-to-left swipes on the ambient will still take you to the watch-face picker.
HOW IT WORKS
As explained in the video this is possible by a trick via which the app is able to detect horizontal swipes and by hiding (covering) the watch-face-picker with an overlay. It works only for left-to-right because Bubble Cloud needs to be at the leftmost position so the watch face picker wouldn't actually change to another face.
Big thanks to Joseph Rubin for the original tip! You are all welcome to try, this option (as most) works in the free version of my watchface. With your feedback I am looking forward to perfecting the functionality.
I can easily add an option. You can already set Bubble Clouds to rotate the screen when on charger: Imgur
Check this app, the timer in it is made for medical professionals: Nursing watch face for medical professionals, doctors
Bubble Cloud can change the long press to do other things. The paid version can also do a second function on a double long press.

The Urbane has an OLED screen, which is prone to burn-in if lots of pixels are displayed for a prolonged time. Be careful there. These watch faces drain the battery faster too. Please read up on OLED display technology.
Having said this, the app I am working on lets you set how you want the ambient screen, If you wish, you can set it to be the same as the regular look.
I haven't tried it yet, but the Bubble Cloud watch face would provide a work around.
I just got a Marshal yesterday and I'm finding the same thing; the button doesn't feel like it would last...
edit: This works! You can use Bubble Cloud as an app drawer and keep your old watchface if you want... you access your apps by double-tapping/swiping-in from the left (or whatever you choose).
Bubble Cloud Launcher could do this fairly easily. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles)
You can setup contact bubbles and even lock the interface so only the bubbles can be clicked on.
I went from using Bubble Cloud to Launcher for WearOS
As its dev I would recommend Bubble Clouds, I've been constantly working on it since 2014, if you haven't tried it lately it is much easier to set up and the basic functionality is still free.
On Android Wear 2.0 you have to install watch apps from the Play Store on the watch.
Updated AW2.0 apps on the phone will prompt you to install their watch components on the watch. They will open the Play Store and you just have to click "Install"
Try Bubble Cloud Watch-face it has been updated to AW2.0 and does this correctly.
Many apps are not updated though.
For older apps:
My app does not use any battery as it does not run in the background. It's tiny (about 1MB) and it is only loaded into memory when you launch it, it stays in RAM until the screen turns off, then it force exits leaving the memory completely. There are no permissions necessary except for the ability to temporarily adjust the screen timeout value.
If you use the "Screen On" symbol feature on the Always On Display of the S7 or S7 Edge, the app stays in memory to detect when the screen goes off and places the icon in the AOD screen, and removes it when the screen turns on. This feature requires a very small amount of memory but my app is not active in the background. And again: this does not even happen if you don't use the Always On Display feature.
I charge for the app (a very low price) so the app can be free of any ads and other monetization methods. It is a one time low fee and you will be able to install the app on all your current and future devices as many times as you like.
I have much experience in battery friendly programming: my app Bubble Cloud Watch face Launcher on Android Wear watches is one of the most battery efficient watch-faces.
I am sorry, but I do not have promo codes :-(
The main launcher is kind of slow to use, I use bubble launcher so that I can swipe from the left and have access to commonly used apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
Bubble Clouds: app drawer works with other watch-faces, but it's most powerful if used as watchface
Bubble Clouds: app drawer works with other watch-faces, but it's most powerful if used as watchface
That depends on the developer. If done mindlessly you can get a pretty bad drain on both the phone and the watch. With some attention the drainage can be kept at minimal (very close to 0).
The problem is that if an app registers to get notified of battery level changes, the standard Android API will notify way too often. Under certain Android versions, this could be several times a minute!!! If a developer relies on this, and relays the notification to the watch (via bluetooth) it will kill both the phone and the watch battery.
As with every other status information (step count, watch battery, phone battery), I implemented a simple prediction algorithm in my app. It checks the battery level periodically (only a few times per hour), and constantly alters the sampling frequency according the the change it detects. I also tie the updates of the different status information together. This can mean a very slight update latency, but a significant reduction in battery use compared to other watch-faces and wear apps.
Just install a launcher. I use Bubble Cloud Read this blog post: Android Wear 5.1.1: WTF update and why Bubble Cloud Launcher is still needed
One app: Bubble Cloud Launcher Has built in:
+app / contact / bookmark widgets for your phone
This one, but at this time I don't think button remapping works on the GW4. I just tried it in two different apps, including Bubble Cloud, without luck.
Yeah, it's an app called Bubble Cloud Launcher.
I was really quickly annoyed by the limitations of the default face. Sure, you can get a million styles of watch, ie using Facer or free apps, but as far as actual customizations... I don't care about steps, no one has ever lost weight by paying attention to their damn steps. I don't care to see my heart rate. I do want to see how many notifications I have, the next item on my agenda, my watch battery remaining, and my phone battery remaining, and be able to launch some of my favorite apps from the home screen though.
Bubble Cloud lets me do all of that. I went ahead and paid for the pro version just to support the guy who created it, but I don't think I've used any pro features.
But yes, among the features is the ability to customize the ambient face. It's a really cool app, to be honest. It's like 80% very easy, and like 20% "what the fuck is happening right now" but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty powerful. I mostly got it for the watch face customization, and to me that's the most important feature still, but I have also come to appreciate the app drawer and its bubble cloud, and put a "contacts" bubble cloud on my phone that's kind of nice. The guy behind it is on Reddit and very active with support.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
maybe by using bubble cloud you can get to use the watch without using buttons:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles&hl=en_CA&gl=US
Bubble Cloud launcher/watch face. This is different from anything else you will ever try on Wear OS. If you "get it" this might be the last watchface you will use, for me nothing comes close to its utility.
But beware, it takes a very different direction from all the others. Here is their (new) website: https://bubble.dataglobe.eu/ (read a few posts, watch a few videos and you will see!)
To be fair: Bubble Cloud by my friend Greg has no such limits if you pay for the premium version. Something like the voice recording thing you want may even be possible with it as well.
CobbleStyle 2 on the Pebble and Bubble Clouds on the Huawei.
Not sure about that (I have 2.0 Dev Preview on my Huawei Watch and it doesn't keep apps on screen unless they have ambient mode implemented) but this app does the trick for me. I can keep any app active, in fact I set it to open certain apps (calculator, translate etc) always in sticky mode. Other app icons I can double tap when I need them to stay in the foreground.
The great thing about this solution is that it does let the watch show the regular ambient watch face with any and all the information and it only switches back to the app when I wake the watch.
Without an Android phone Bubble Cloud is your friend: it runs full stand-alone and lets you customise themes, colours, fonts, watch hands, backgrounds right on the watch. It's not an AppleWatch clone. It's a regular watch face with regular watch faces -- look at his video: Bubble Cloud Standalone Android Wear 2.0
In my experience it performs reasonably well on older watches too.
Yes, bubble cloud launcher has a "sticky open mode". If you start an app by double tapping on it, it will start in a sticky manner: the watch will still go to the ambient watchface, but when you wake the watch (either by tapping or tilting if "tilt to wake" is enabled) it will automatically switch to the app.
It is demoed in the product video: Sticky open
Bubble Cloud Launcher has this feature: image It calculates sunset and sunrise based on your geographical location and the time of the year.
The beta should already be available. Since you are a member of the beta group already, you can click on this link to switch to the beta channel. Then updating the app in the Play Store will get you v4.97beta (only mentioned in the What's New section)
I could go with open beta, but I have burned myself before (betas appearing on pirate sites) so I like to moderate.
Bubble Clouds interactive watch face launcher:
It is a watch-face, but can also be used together with any other watch-face ("app-drawer mode")
Took huawei watch off charger at 8AM today, at 8PM it's at 62% I use Bubble Cloud interactive watch face launcher, which does a bunch, not a one trick watch face. I also have both tilt-to-wake, and gesture control enabled. Running Wear Stand up Alert which is an inactivity detector, also runs constantly. Bubble Cloud controls my screen brightness, but I like it fairly bright (even in ambient). Just the other day I thought about turning WIFI on too, because I never saw less than 30% at the end of a day, no matter how long the day was or how heavily I used the watch. I am yet to kill it in a day.
Bubble Cloud Launcher lets you do this: adding Tasker bubbles
Bubble Cloud Launcher for Android Wear does have a learning curve, but there are quite complete tutorial videos built into the app to get you going.
►Bunch more new in this version ►Play Store Link
Bug reports, feature tips are always welcome :-)
The original app that came up with the concept and still IMO the best implementation is Bubble Cloud Launcher.
There is also an app to keep the screen on. Alternative to this AutoWear in combination with Tasker can do it. Both of course kills your battery while just keeping the app locked doesn't.
Use any stopwatch app with Bubble Cloud Launcher: double tap to "sticky open" the app. Sticky open mode is useful, because it still lets the screen dim, and this way friendly on the battery, but when you lift your watch and the screen un-dims you are taken back to the stickied app. Here's a video on how this works: https://youtu.be/Daa2hsanBhY?t=9m4s
Bubble Cloud Launcher was the first app to come with this feature, and still the only one which shows you the current time even when the stickied app is on the screen.
Yeah I tried 'Watch Charge Notification' too and got sick of the boy called wolf random notifications. Then when fully charged there is no notification. Instead my P7Pro dimply vibrates for a couple of seconds, which I kept missing. So did not work for me.
My next plan is to try Bubble Cloud launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles , which as I understand it, can be set to ring your phone when the pixelwatch is fully charged. But it will install a lot of other baggage that I prob dont need, just to get a single notification that should be built into the firmware.
Linked pages have the Play Store link and the video explains how to set it up.

Quick setup tutorial (1 min): https://youtu.be/mg6U2MurXNI
Simple solutions like Wear App Picker has it's value, but if you want more options and control, in Bubble Cloud Launcher you can organize apps into multiple clouds and folders. Labels are optional. You can use standard Android icon packs, And long press icons to see their package name (and go to their App Info or Play Store page). You can open the launcher with a tap on your watch face (complication), assign it to hardware button press, or set it up as a Wear OS tile (in 1 minute!).
I use it to customise down to the most minute detail with so much functionality. The notification plug-in that can be added is very worth it as well. The dev is on here and can get a reply within the day for any questions.
Check out r/bubblecloud if you want.
The base Bubble Cloud is free with IAP upgrades
Dev made it full GW4 compatible recently
Just install Bubble Cloud (you don't have to buy or even use any other part of the app), Strength Training will simply appear in the app list: https://bubble.dynalogix.eu/restore-google-fit-strength-training/
Congrats :) Have one as well. I love Bubble Cloud as the main interface. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles Everything Dynalogix makes is great for a power user. https://bubble.dynalogix.eu/
Reboot the watch every few days to keep it on speed (think it helps).
I mostly use the watch to turn lights / electronics on and off, check notifications and set timers.
I am not sure about the Tic Launcher, maybe it doesn't update automatically. Try to switch back to the standard Wear OS launcher (turn off Mobvoi launcher under Personalization) or install a different launcher
Bubble tile launcher has a mode for exactly this with an ambient mode that shows seconds for vitals.
Welcome to Wear OS! The flair shows up next to our user names (might not be displayed in some Reddit reader apps). The app is available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
For me Bubble Clouds is the most complete watch face, though it goes far beyond what a watch face traditionally does: feature list. It does all this while giving me the best battery of almost any other I tried.
Bubble Cloud lets you add as many watch face complications as you want (I currently have 13). You can even put them in the app drawer or folders. It is also smart about which to update, battery life does not suffer.
Bubble Launcher is a different app, it's not a watch face. I was referring to Bubble Cloud watchface launcher You don't need to buy it, the basic feature set is free including ambient dimming.
I guess you mean mini launcher for the watch. Functionally Bubble Cloud is the clear winner imho, on par with Nova on phones. If you want a feature Bubble Cloud launcher has it. Performance is top notch and battery use is at minimum in my experience.
If there is something negative to say, it's the learning curve, but if you have average IQ or higher you will still learn it quickly and fast appreciate the exceptional customizability.
I think it's probably an OS limitation, these system settings might not have APIs for developers to hook into.
I use the Bubble Cloud watch face which has a pretty good implementation of touch lock. I can add a lock complication to the Bubble Cloud watch face which will lock (or even auto lock). What I like even more is that I can assign the locking to the long press of the hardware button. I personally use their "dimmed theater" mode, which not only locks but also dims the screen (including the ambient screen) by variable amount (25-50-75-100%). I think a recent update made dimmed theater mode available as a watch face complication too (and in Bubble Clouds you can put complications in the app drawer also, so there is no limit on the number of complications).
This works with many watch faces. Just check if it can connect to external background image providers. I list a few in the OP. Of course I recommend my own watch face no commitment needed as it is free (with upgrades). And you can look for a style to put on top of the flag, there are many to choose from now some of them even free, and you can mix and match components too.
Sent you the code BTW. Go Germany!!!
Bubble Cloud, they made a video on this: youtube I think this feature works in the free version too.
Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
This theme pack has "real" looking watch faces: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dynalogix.bubblecloud.themepack8
> This theme pack works with Bubble Cloud Launcher for Android Wear (version 6.85 or higher). Please update main app to most recent version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles Themes work with the free version of the launcher, you don't need Premium upgrade for the Themes to work.
Look for sticky open mode in Bubble Cloud launcher/watchface:
You are returned to your ambient watchface when the screen times out, but the stickied app will be brought to the foreground when you wake the screen (tilt, touch or hw button)
Because it's not an app. There isBubble Cloud Launcher that allows you to have your own customizable launcher with an app to open the voice interface.
Oh, you mean you have "Always on" disabled?
I agree, this is a UI nightmare Google came up with... At least we don't have to type commands, so they are past 1980's.
You can get my watch-face from the Play Store:
Please watch this short video for a jump start at using it:
You mean bubble cloud widgets?
It's not a launcher, works with any launcher. More used apps appear bigger. Plus it's a unique fun look for my phone: Imgur.
Many people despise colorful homescreens. I actually like it this way :)
I usually have over 50% at the end of the day, which means I could use my hwatch for 2 days tightly, but I charge it every morning.
Battery life depends greatly on the watch face and apps you are using. I have 38 apps installed, and am using Bubble Cloud Launcher as my watch-face. It is very battery friendly and extremely practical. Some might not like the way it looks, but there are now many different themes / styles - it doesn't have to look like an apple watch at all.
I wear it overnight for sleep tracking. It is charged for 30-40 minutes in the mornings after I wake up. My phone beeps when the watch is fully charged (Bubble Cloud feature).
I usually have 45-55% when I go to bed. Sleep tracking in theater mode, I have 35-40% in the morning (Sleep as Android tracks movement, records heart rate, records sound and interacts with S Health on my phone).
If you use Bubble Cloud Launcher, please update to the newest version and open settings using the bubble in the launcher: Imgur
This is caused by an acknowledged bug in Android 6.0, when any apps which utilize screen overlays are active. Google fixed the issue via security updates in phones and some Android Wear watches already (huawei and zen watches), hopefully the fix is coming soon to the Moto 360 too. Until it is, the workaround in Bubble Cloud should be a solution.
Being the developer of BCL I cannot make any statements about other launchers.
There are tons of different widgets you can place on your home screens. Not just plain icons. This particular one I like, because it's an original new way to show my icons. Not the usual grid of same size squares, but they can change size and position. Plus this allows us to use any of the thousands of standard icons packs even in the stock Samsung launcher, which otherwise could only use the icon packs it their theme store. It's called bubble cloud widget
Try bubble cloud watch face launcher, apps open for me OK. And I love the screen lock feature: video
You can try Bubble Clouds for free. Most of the functions work in the free version too. I can send you promo code #15 for Theme Pack #1 which normally costs a buck. I hope you will like it!
Please check your messages.
Bubblecloud widgets+wear launcher has these built in:
everything else can be controlled using Tasker bubbles.
Hi, I am sorry but we are out of codes for this promotion. But you can still use the app, the free version is fully functional.
We are out of the 20 codes for now: thank you to all who participated!
You are welcome to install Bubble Clouds fromt the Play Store for free
This is exactly what Bubble Cloud Launcher does!
It stores two sets of brightness settings one for daylight and one for after sunset, and switches between the two at sunrise / sunset. As a bonus the brightness control is half a swipe away from the watchface and you get to control not only the regular brightness but the brightness of the ambient watch face too!
It's explained in this short video section: Brightness control
Bubble Cloud Interactive Watchface and/or Launcher You don't need much else:
Check out this short video
With Bubble Clouds you will be able to swipe left to right to reveal the brightness control and all your apps in interactive watchface mode: demo animation Alternative: use it in app-drawer mode and you can still swipe in from the left to access these.
I like Bubble Clouds. It has the usual stuff:
Plus a fun/practical way to launch any app installed on the watch + Tasker tasks on the phone. Crazy amount of customizability. The biggest drawback is probably the steep learning curve. Prepare to spend some time discovering all the options! I found it to be very battery efficient
The new update made this awesome device perfect:
Keep all this perfect, and we are ready for the new features involving the speaker!
Bubble Cloud Launcher can show any info you need (with its layout designer you can move the bubbles in any arrangement you wish) and it does rotate when charger is attached: Imgur You can even dim the ambient screen so it's not so bright at night.
Bubble Cloud Watch face Launcher lets you keep colors in the ambient screen (either full or hollow circles with any information you might want: batteries/steps/weather/date) Plus it gives the most control over the watchface you can think of. And it does have very handy brightness control right on the watchface! See this
But you can also place Tasker shortcuts on your watch-face or app-drawer.
Sale in every country - only in the first days of October!

With ambient off you should get way over a day. I get 12-14 hours with the ambient ON (using Bubble Cloud Watch-face Launcher which is pretty good for the Moto 360 1st gen given it's an interactive watch face and and a launcher in one)
I use Bubble Cloud Launcher, it is much nicer to the battery, and I can access my apps with less scrolling. More used stuff appears bigger. Read this article: Android Wear 5.1.1: WTF update and why Bubble Cloud Launcher is still needed
Bubble Cloud Watch-face launcher It has been interactive way before it became officially supported, but the latest version updated to utilize the native API, which made the standard watchface gestures much more accessible.
Just having the voice search on double tap would alone worth it for me. But to be able to open any and all apps right from the watch-face is great. Not to mention the watch-face lock, which I engage when there is a danger of accidental app-opens (i.e. around kids).
Bubble Cloud interactive watch face launcher lets you add a Voice Search bubble to the screen. If you touch that it takes you to voice search directly. Also double tapping the clock does the same.
See this
You can tap Bubble Cloud Launcher's mic bubble, or double tap its clock bubble to get to Voice Search directly.
This has been my favorite update. My Moto360 became almost perfect. So much so that I will be afraid to update it next time, they can only make this worse.
The only small problem I still have is the screen not turning on when battery is below 15% and auto-brightness enabled and it's dark around. Somehow they reduce screen brightness so much that it doesn't even turn on. But actually the last version of Bubble Cloud Launcher takes care of this with a workaround, so I am not bothered by it anymore.
Bubble Cloud Launcher also has a find-my-phone feature which works well for me. It's the only one which stops ringing the phone as soon as you pick it up after you've found it :-) Here it is on video
I think it will be a step backwards from Bubble Cloud Launcher's sticky open feature.
The good thing about the sticky open function in Bubble Cloud Launcher is that it keeps the time on the top of the screen, and also returns to the ambient watch face when you don't use the app, and only switches to the app when the screen un-dims. I am afraid this will just produce more apps which stay on the screen infinitely with the need to manually exit if I want to use the watch what it's main function is: to tell the time... :-(
If you are using Bubble Cloud launcher you might have enabled the "Extra vibration on new cards" option in the Watch-face launcher card?
Somebody asked for this a few days ago, so I added it to Bubble Cloud Launcher:
It's now available in the last beta version, join here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/103068675740395458124
Price You can fully test the watch-face launcher component without buying the premium upgrade. The price of the only currently available IAP product is listed in the Play Store (currently $1.99+tax), which unlocks all current and future features of the app:
I plan to add more granular IAP options in the future:
So until these pricing upgrades are implemented, you can get the combined unlock for less than the price of the Android Wear features. There is also a "Premium License Key" app available for purchase, for those who prefer app purchases as opposed to IAP. This Premium Key app will always have the same price and same unlock capabilities of the currently available Combined Unlock key.
What does it unlock? Here are the premium benefits (from the Play Store app description):
This license key application/in-app-purchase may be used on any number of devices assigned to your Google Account
TLDR: $2 unlocks all, will increase to $2.50/$3.50
Many asked for this from the /r/WearOS community, I think this is a good use of the tiles:
You can put 6-8 (up to 18!) of your favorite apps, Smart-light controls, Tasker tasks into this tile, or even folders which can have more of these in them.
It was tricky to make the layout so flexible in the Tile RemoteViews, but now you can arrange the icons in any way you like (grid with labels, random cluster, circle, galaxy) and you can use your own background images and even standard icon packs.
Feature is available in the free version of the app
More info:
Much credit to Sterling Udell for the TileAPI Google failed to provide!

I know as the developer my recommendation is predictible, but I feel using the <strong>Bubble Cloud Watch-face Launcher</strong> overcomes many of the AW2.0 issues.
I've been working on Android Wear 2.0 compatibility since last summer, and I -- and many other beta testers -- have been using the Wear 2.0 Developer Preview with Bubble Clouds for many months. I added and improved many of these features to make Android Wear 2.0 as usable as possible:

2) Need to press button to access app drawer:
3) Theater mode to prevent accidental touches:

The original idea came from this post by jfedor: I made a watch face that displays notification icons from the phone
I thought Bubble Cloud was a good base for this system with its dynamic smart auto layouts which are designed for easy and quick addition and removal of bubbles / info from the watch face.
REVISED NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
I know this is redundant to the notification system on the watch, but for some the watch is primarily for notifications, and in the current system even Bubble Cloud's peek card is too little (not to mention Google's own way insufficient notification dot and counter). I think having a completely separate system has its benefits, not to rely on Google's readiness to remove often used features at a whim (the truncation of longer notifications being a recent example).

PLANS
This is just the beginning. Here is what's planned if the community likes this idea:
EARLY RELEASE
A few beta testers have been using the app for a week or so, but it's still early days, please go easy on the bugs (report them here or via email). For now, I set the price to the lowest possible in the Play Store ($1). I would be grateful for any feedback, improvement ideas etc.
I am not sure about any watches making ticking sounds, but Bubble Cloud Watch face / launcher has a "ticking sound" option: Youtube: "Aristocratic" theme (with seconds hand + optional tick sound!) (Increase volume to hear sound in video)
This works with all analog bubble cloud themes on watches which have speakers. Make sure to dial up the volume to hear the ticking sound! Screenshot
I've posted this to before, but hopefully worth the repeat:
And here is a recent thread where we talked about how these apps can be used throughout the day:
There were 2 similar topics in the last week:
For what it's worth here is the list I posted there too:
NOTIFICATION PREVIEW
Very exciting developments! With the latest, v2.9 release of Android Wear, Google revived notification previews in the form of long text complications, which can now be added to any watch face that supports them!!!
The trouble with long text complication is however, that they take up too much space on the tiny watch displays.
PEEK CARDS
Please watch the linked op video for my take on long text complications. I think peek cards (similar to what Wear 1.x used to have) are much more practical for long text rather than dedicating a constant larger area of the screen:
OPTIONS
I did my best to integrate the peek card into the Bubble Cloud system: press and hold the peek card to manage it:
[Font size is tied to the system font setting. Let me know if I missed any other aspect that you'd like to customize]
AVAILABILITY
I've been working on this for the last week or so, ever since the v2.9 update came out for Android Wear. The new feature in Bubble Clouds is already out of the preliminary beta test, included in the latest Play Store release,, you can install it right away, but please be patient with it, as it might still have some teething problems...
FUTURE?
My guess is that Bubble Clouds is only the first of many watch faces which will now support notification peek cards again! What do you think? Did you miss the peek cards? Any other developers here planning to implement something like this? Pros and cons?
Sticky open was introduced by Bubble Cloud Launcher:
Other launchers and stand alone apps tried to copy the sticky open behavior, but none come close to the way it is implemented in Bubble Clouds

I am the developer of Bubble Cloud Launcher. Could you please test if it works? Thank you!
Since 2014 I have been constantly improving this little launcher. New additions almost every week (the change log is over 2000 lines long :-). I know it still has a long way to go in usability, but there are already many fans.
With version 7.00 I feel the watch-face functionality has arrived to a point where it could appeal to some of you.
Here are a few special features:
I am a one man team, I work on this "little" project along with my job as a college professor.
Most of the feature tips came from the users and I am still open to your suggestions!

This is the part of <strong>Bubble Cloud Watchface / Launcher</strong> that I work on nowadays, your feedback is very welcome!
You can already try the app on your phone / tablet even if you don't currently have a WearOS watch.
TL;DR New feature in Bubble Cloud Launcher helps you re-install standalone 2.0 apps without phone components
ANDROID WEAR 1.X used to require a phone component for every watch app, so resetting the watch was a pretty smooth procedure, all apps automatically got re-installed on the watch after pairing again with the same phone.
ANDROID WEAR 2.0 brought stand-alone apps with optional phone components. Setting up a watch after pairing became a bit more work:
RE-INSTALL ASSISTANT
Starting with version 8.26 (currently being rolled out) Bubble Clouds will backup all your watch apps (not their data, only their package names), and if you restore a Bubble Cloud backup after reset, the app will prompt you to install each missing app one by one:
As you can see I haven't found a fully automatic way, but the prompts will make it fairly simple to restore all the apps any time when you decide to restore the previous state of your watch. Just make sure to create a backup before resetting your watch: https://youtu.be/vXfo84uYiyE?t=6m55s
That's pretty bad. I think the watch-face should not have such high percentage.
If you want battery friendly, try Bubble Clouds. It's often better than the stock faces. You can customize it with themes, even on the watch itself, no need to fiddle with app on the phone. And it's very functional too, especially on Android Wear 2.0 with the ability to use any number of complications.

Bubble Cloud watch face has an "ticking seconds hand" option: video
All the analog watch face themes allow you to enable this option, so you can pick the style you like.
Bubble Cloud has an option to ring your phone when the battery is fully charged.
I've been working on this launcher-watchface for over 3 years now. The ability not only to start Tasker tasks, but also to show feedback from Tasker has been on the top of my feature request list:
TASKER PLUGIN (Bubble Cloud Launcher Watch Face v8.60 or newer)
HOW TO USE
TRICKS AND TIPS
DEFER REFRESH
Each plugin call causes the affected widgets and the clouds on the watch to refresh. If you bubbles are moved generating new cloud layouts can be quite time consuming.
You might have noticed the switch "Refresh affected clouds" at the bottom of the screen. You will normally want this to happen, otherwise the changes will not become visible. But if you plan to update a lot of bubbles in a task, it is recommended to enable refresh only for the LAST call. All changes will be pushed to the widgets and to the watch, and the last call will make sure the clouds are redrawn to show the results.
Note: You will see a (sleep) symbol in the front of the Tasker blurb to highlight calls which do not redraw the clouds
In short: if you have multiple Change Bubble calls, only enable Refresh for the last
VIDEO
Please see the video for a short demonstration of some of the things this new Tasker plugin enables you to do. I am always open to more tips from you!

If there is much interest I will consider rotating the rest of the Bubble Cloud UI, but afaik it is not possible to rotate other parts of the OS
Many watch face apps are standard 2.0 watch-face complication ready, which means you can add weather, battery level, fitness info, stand up alerts and anything you want. I work on the watch-face Bubble Cloud Launcher Watch-face
Bubble Clouds is only one, you will find many watch faces support AW2.0 complications at some level.
Bubble Cloud Launcher comes to mind. The dev is very responsive and has a lot of videos on how to use it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles&hl=en
I guess I will get again for recommending the <strong>Bubble Cloud watch-face</strong> on this forum, but to my knowledge there is no other watch-face that has a <strong>"Doctors'/Nurses' timer"</strong> built into it. You can use the sticky open feature of Bubble Cloud Launcher. Double clicking the app icon will open it in a special way: every time you wake the watch (by tilting or touching the screen) the stickied app will be brought to the foreground. See a demonstration here:
On top of this you might want to turn on the screen lock, which prevents accidental touches to the screen:
Finally you can apply the same type of lock to any watch-face or app if using the new "Augmented" mode:

I am very close to releasing v5.0 with these additions:
For an introductory time period this upgrade price is $0.99 (or less in countries where Play Store allows it). This is a one time fee, and license is valid for life. It opens up all smartwatch related features in Bubble Cloud Launcher.
The <$1 upgrade price is only available in the beta version:
I plan to offer this lowest possible upgrade price until this version comes out of beta.
Thank you for helping.
(Note: no change to existing Premium users, they can enjoy all the current and coming features of the app)
Bubble cloud launcher gives you the most features, and it should run smoothly on the Urbane too. The latest beta version lets you add Tasker bubbles too, which is a big thing imho. You can start tasks elegantly from your wear launcher!
And if you don't like the circles, you can turn them off too.
+1 on that App, love it :)
Also if you want to dig deeper use Bubble Cloud along with Auto Wear & Tasker to automate nearly anything on watch / phone (plus google assistant if you like)
Could you please update my app's name to Bubble Cloud Tile launcher / watch face? It also has: * deep Tasker integration for automatic control of watch functions, * and a very comprehensive Smart Home control feature set.
Other important apps:
Thank you!!
I am not an iPhone user, but I'd imagine Bubble Cloud watch face / launcher should work well without the phone, as most of its settings and features are available right on the watch (it has very extensive customizability). Example: this post on the app's website explains how you can put together a custom watch face using just a handful of options on the watch. Here is their complete feature list
Please watch this video, I demonstrate how to do exactly this using Bubble Clouds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fptcea0lDFc&list=PL0wrCqIpYbB4anPdhRAtyx4ixxi6hUxMN&index=8
I don't understand why we don't see many other watch faces implementing this. Dedicating a whole "long text" area in a watch face is a waste of screen real estate, and the peek cards are even more noticeable.
Since the video I have added a few more options:
Bubble Cloud gives best battery for me, and they have some pretty good looking themes: Theme Pack 8 and Theme Pack 7 have most of my favorites.
For your last point there are launcher watch face apps which let you customize the app drawer:
And some of these wear launchers will let you open the app drawer in various ways:
The customization starts when you install one of these. I found Bubble Clouds to offer the most complete list of features, but there are other options with more or less similar featuresets.
Bubble Cloud has timer mode which can be set to vibrate every 15/30/60 seconds: video demo
Try the app Wear Interval Timer, you can set it to alert you periodically.
My all time favorite is Bubble Clouds. Nothing comes close in functionality.
Very much a subjective question! I like Bubble Cloud, but I know the look isn't for everyone.
I agree. I can recommend my Bubble Cloud watchface
I optimized Bubble Cloud Launcher-Watchface to be very battery friendly. Admittedly it takes a few minutes to get familiar with it, since it's very different from everything else on Android Wear, but if you are willing take the first steps, there are a lot of benefits:
These are just the battery saving features, there are a lot more. My app gets a lot of hate here because it is different and a bit more complex than other apps. I am always happy to help and constantly improve the app based on feedback.
Give it a couple of days to develop its full battery life. It will be much better after 2, 3 days.
www.facerepo.com is a website where you can get presets for four watch face apps: Pujie Black, Facer, Watch Maker and Minimal & Elegant.
Lines on the dimmed watch face shouldn't be wider than 10 pixels, otherwise the burn in protection is not guaranteed to be effective. Here you can upload a screenshot of your dimmed watch face and check if it's ok. You can take a screenshot in the Wear App on your phone.
Bubble Wear Launcher is a must have app. You can use it as a watch face or just as an addition to every other watch face.
Google Keep is pretty good for simple (and even collaborative) check lists like for shopping and stuff.
:
^(There are tens of thousands of fans of the app [close to half a million downloads], but as anything this is not for everyone...)
My watchface system supports 2.0 complications. See demo here:
And don't worry, you can create any watch-face, not just the bubbly ones shown in the video:
Every phone looks the same: rows and columns of icons. Booooring.

I like the flexibility bubble cloud watchface launcher provides (see this video) and on top of it being a very customizable watch-face it is a fully featured launcher too (video)
Complication demo starts at 4:14
So far I only tested this in the emulator (connected to a real phone). I would appreciate feedback from anyone using Android Wear 2.0 Preview on a physical device. I did my best to keep battery use at minimum. The new interface lets you add any number of complication bubbles to your watch-face and archive cloud (accessible by a single swipe).
Access all your apps from your watch-face! Now with the new Android Wear 2.0 watch face complications support. Place any number of complications bubbles, connect to complication providers installed on watch.
I usually get a lot of hate in this subreddit, please spare me this time. This is not just a launcher, it has grown to be a feature rich watchface too, which can be configured either remotely from the phone, or using the controls on the watch. I am working on more stylish looking watch-face themes, including classic analog watch faces.
I've just posted this to the main /r/AndroidWear subreddit, but hopefully worth the repeat:

For me Bubble Cloud Launcher is the swiss army knife of Android Wear. Wear Calculator and Calendar for Android Wear are must haves too.
I am the developer of Bubble Cloud Widgets. I tried, and it is fully compatible with Smart Task Launcher, but you have to invoke the special "Widget Measure Mode", since STL doesn't report the widget size correctly.
Here, I shot a video for you:

I happen to be the developer of Bubble Cloud Tile Launcher, it works OK out of the way, but I've made a couple of Galaxy Watch 4 specific improvements which are rolling out as we speak (until full rollout it's available immediately on the beta channel).
Thanks for the suggestion.
This has wear OS 2.1 - is this likely to cause me any issues since there are newer versions (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wear\_OS#Wear\_OS). Can I upgrade?
I guess I should think about what I want to do with the app. I have a bit of an unknown feeling of "perhaps there's some unknown cool thing I could do with it if I had it". On the other hands for 60 bucks - maybe you just get it and if you discover something cool you want to do get something expensive. The unknown unknown problem...
I guess for me the tasker bubbles interface is the killer feature (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles&hl=en_US&gl=US) - this says it needs android 2... and I suppose I should be abstractly concerned about security....

I'm using this launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles And it's in the options. But there are some other apps for that
1) The Bubble Cloud watch face is pretty modular. It has sunrise / sunset live info: Imgur (as you can see the appearance and the content is separated, there are an infinite number of styles)
2) Many Wear OS watch faces let you add watch face complications. The sunrise / sunset complication is one of the standard ones. Unlike the Live Info built into Bubble Clouds , this does not show both times, only the one coming earlier. Here is how to add the sunrise/sunset watch face complication in Bubble Cloud: Imgur
Feel free to email me with any questions regarding my app, I am happy to help with step-by-step instructions you see here.
Try Bubble Clouds.
This theme pack is now on sale: Theme Pack #8 has 12 nice looking watch faces built in and works with the free version of Bubble Clouds (no need to go premium).
Bubble Clouds lets you add unlimited number of complications to watch faces (excess complications go in the app drawer).
Have you tried the Timer mode in my app, Bubble Cloud Watch-face / Launcher? It basically adds a short-term ambient watch-face with sweeping seconds hand. It can also vibrate your wrist every 15 / 30 / 60 seconds after it's started. You can assign it to hardware key press. Here is a short video I made about it:
Bubble Clouds works as a stand-alone watch face or can be added as a mini launcher to any other watch-face.
My all time favorite is Bubble Clouds. Nothing comes close in functionality.
You could use a custom launcher like Bubble Cloud Launcher, Apollo Wear Launcher, or Launcher for Android Wear.

Bubble Cloud's been very good for me, especially if you count everything it can do: Imgur
I think it is absolutely worth buying it now. It is actually one of the 2 last gen devices which already has Android Wear 2.0 available for it (albeit Preview - but many of us use it as our daily driver). I guess you should hurry ordering it, because they will probably stop selling gen 1 when the 2 comes out. Unless you are ok getting 2nd hand, which will start to appear and go down in price as the new ones become available.
As for the light sensor, coming from the Moto 360 I thought I will miss it more. The whole reason for the light sensor in the Moto 360 is for the watch to be able to keep its screen on the lowest brightness visible, and still struggle to make it to the end of the day. Battery is a non-issue with the Huawei Watch. Even if you keep the screen close to the brightest setting it will easily make it to the end of the day. The problem here is more with the brightness of the always on ambient screen, which tends to be way too bright in the evening. Some watch-faces however have an option to lower the ambient brightness.
I still use Bubble Cloud watch face launcher which offers solution for both automatic brightness and ambient dimming:
As for battery life, it depends a lot on what watch face and apps you use. I settled with Bubble Clouds because this proved to be one of the most battery optimized while offering the most features (everything but the kitchen sink really!).
The watch has the heart-rate sensor, and it is one of the more reliable ones having multiple LEDs and photo-sensors. You would be surprised how useful this is in sleep tracking for example (though Sleep as Android stopped working after I updated the watch to AW 2.0, but I hope this is only a temporary issue and they will fix soon).
Use a launcher. Bubble Cloud is very good, and it lets you organize apps into pages and even hide unwanted apps. No more scrolling since it can fit 8-10 icons on a screen, still easily clickable: video1, video2
My watchface system supports 2.0 complications. See demo here:
And don't worry, you can create any watch-face, not just the bubbly ones shown in the video:
Congrats to your new watch! I'll see if we need more tests. So far the responses are pretty consistently good, I can recommend picking it up still for the lowest Play Store price.
I can also recommend my other app Bubble Cloud watch-face launcher I have recently added a number of ZenWatch 3 related functions to it:
This second app is free with some advanced functions requiring upgrade.
Is this the Bubble launcher app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles&hl=en
Bubble Cloud Launcher is such. You can set the hotspot size to "0", then it doesn't interfere with any screen gestures. Assign the app to the hardware button and pressing the button will reveal the launcher. Recommended also to move the app drawer to the right side. See this:
One thing I still need to implement: a second button press should close the app drawer. I will work on that. (Currently the app drawer auto hides if you don't touch the screen for a short while - unless you include a clock bubble).
I have just released an update for the ZenWatch3. If used in watch-face mode you can now dim the brightness of the ambient watchface. Earlier every watch that had light sensor had LCD screens where ambient watch-face dimming wasn't as necessary: imgur: brightness control on ZenWatch 3
Ask if you have trouble setting it up.
Update:
To become a beta tester:
Try Bubble cloud, you can have one face then swipe for full interactive stuff:

Complication demo starts at 4:14
So far I only tested this in the emulator (connected to a real phone). I would appreciate feedback from anyone using Android Wear 2.0 Preview on a physical device. I did my best to keep battery use at minimum. The new interface lets you add any number of complication bubbles to your watch-face and archive cloud (accessible by a single swipe).
One of the most sophisticated watch faces on Android Wear: access all your apps from your watch-face! Now with the new Android Wear 2.0 watch face complications support. Place any number of complications bubbles, connect to complication providers installed on watch.
This is not just a launcher, it has grown to be a feature rich watchface too, which can be configured either remotely from the phone, or using the controls on the watch. I am working on more stylish looking watch-face themes, including classic analog watch faces.

I was pretty happy with my Moto 361, it was a lot of worry about battery life, but all in all its utility was more than the worry.
Then I upgraded to the Huawei Watch, and now I am actually blown away by the battery life, speed, versatility, utility, look even 8 months after I got it.
I have a number of apps installed, that also asds to the versatility, but if there is one app I can recommend to those who are bored with your watches: get the Bubble Cloud Watchface/Launcher. I promise you'll never be bored. Here is their new video: youtube now with theme packs!
Yes, it is Bubble Cloud Watch-face Launcher. It has a watch-face mode, where you can have any number of "bubbles" on your watch-face, and then you can swipe to access your other apps: swipe for more
You can control which bubbles show up in ambient mode, and you can assign "live info" to any of your apps, so instead of their icons you will see the battery level or the weather, step count etc.
This launcher / watch-face is one of the most customizable in Android Wear. You can use standard android icon packs, image backgrounds various layouts for your watch face and the app drawer: another layout example. It even has a drag-n-drop layout editor: layout designer
Many use it just as an app-drawer, but the real strength imho is in watch-face mode.
If you want to use your watch more, install a good launcher.
Bubble Cloud Launcher is the best. No ill effect on battery, infinite customizability, and best of all the quickest access to all your apps.
I use "watchface mode", which means the launcher is my watch-face, but there is a "classic" app-drawer mode too, if you want to use it with a different watch face.
Some screenshots:
I'd recommend to watch the product video though the app improved a lot since February when the video was shot...
You need a good watch-face.
The Bubble Clouds watch-face launcher can easily be configured to look much like the bits watch-face:
It's not free, but maybe the free parts of it cover the things the Bits does for you. I found the weather bubbles to be quite reliable, they show both the current weather and the forecast for tomorrow. You choose what bubbles you want, I use almost all of them:
The time in the center is in digital mode (using the Poirot One font) but there are lots of analog and digital options...
You pick your own background texture too.
With this watchface I routinely get a full day of battery with 30-40% of charge to spare (by day I mean true 24 hours with sleep tracking).
The cards don't cover the time, and you can arrange your bubbles so the less important ones are covered at the bottom. I set the option "translucent card" for both active and ambient screens:
I can wholeheartedly recommend this watch face to anyone bored with their watch, this will give you so much to fiddle with!
My app, Bubble Cloud Launcher was never listed in the Android Wear category :-( Although it has been approved for AW by Google from the beginning.
I have guesses why this is
I am happy enough, that if we search for "android wear" or just "wear" in the play store Bubble Clouds have a high enough ranking.
or Bubble Cloud Laucher better on the battery and has more options, though much steeper learning curve
Both Wear Mini Launcher and Wear Battery Stats are known to cause battery drain and performance issues. If you want to use a launcher, I can recommend Bubble Cloud Launcher, I get over 2 days of battery with it on my hwatch: battery stats after 11 hours
With the default settings the app drawer might not look the best, but you can customize the hell out of it with special layouts and icons themes...

Bubble Cloud Launcher is the first and only launcher for Android Wear which lets you use standard icon packs on your smartwatch :)
Starting with beta version 4.97:
The feature is coming soon, but you can already join the beta tester community to try it.
The teaser video shows you different icon packs used on the Huawei watch and the Moto 360 and the ui on the phone: (Click on the time codes)
The video demos the launcher running efficiently on both gen1 and gen2 Android Wear devices, including app opening animations. This feature is in early beta, please report any problems or suggestions in our Google+ pages.
Bubble Cloud Launcher has the brightness control bar half-a-swipe away, and it controls ambient watch-face dimming too. It remembers your daytime and night settings, and automatically applies them at sunset / sunrise.
I've been thinking about using the phone's light sensor, but the main advantage of having a watch is that we can leave the phone in our pockets. Display Brightness for Wear is a better approach (though not yet perfect implementation) to use other clues such as activity detection.
Bubble Widgets is another good option with a lot of customisation.

I think the best is its customizability
BUBBLE CLOUD LAUNCHER for ANDROID WEAR got a nice update recently:
New in recent updates:
Google Play Store:
Okay, so the New version is out: with still more Huawei optimizations:
Play Store: [please update]
The possibilities in Bubble Cloud Interactive Watch-face Launcher are unlimited. Some videos:
My watch face of choice.
Broke contact sync in Bubble Cloud Launcher, but v4.20 update corrected it, update became available today.
This one came out after the apple watch was shown. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
Bubble Cloud watch-face launcher has a touch-protect screen lock: I use that: watch-face
Bubble Cloud Launcher - the only watch-face launcher for Android Wear (has app-tray mode too). Replaces a handful of other apps: flash light, find-my-phone, Screen lock, Tasker task launcher etc.
Hourly Chime for Wear gives you a tap every hour (or configurable frequency) with highly configurable vibration-pattern.
Calendar for Android Wear Best calendar imho
Here you go: Bubble Cloud Widgets + Launcher for Android Wear
With Bubble Cloud Watch face Launcher you can :-) http://i.imgur.com/hIU1JXe.jpg

It's been around for quite some time, but I guess it was inspired by early apple watch images?
Device: Moto 360, black
Watchface: Bubble Cloud Watch Face Launcher
Uses by priority: time>notification>web search by voice>notes>bubble cloud dialer>calendar>podcast control>flash light>calculator
Apps installed: Bubble Cloud launcher, Attopedia, BeyondPod, Browser, Calculator, Calendar, Camera remote, Counter, Hourly chime, Interval timer, Keep, Memory info, Task manager, Wear Maps, Wearable Widgets
Favorite feature/app: Bubble Cloud launcher, it's the swiss army knife
Bubble Cloud has a contact bubble feature as part of the Wear launcher.
Note: the new non-dimming full screen clock with seconds hand is coming in v2.08 (join our beta group to test before release)
I have just added a non-dimming full screen clock option with seconds hand to Bubble Cloud Launcher:
It's now available in the last beta version, join the program here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/103068675740395458124
If you can wait, it will soon be rolled out in the public update: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dyna.logix.bookmarkbubbles
I don't think any well optimized watch face should show up in this screen.
Did you forget to exit an app with "keep screen on"? With the availability of "Sticky open" introduced by Bubble Cloud Launcher all apps should stop utilizing the flag "keep screen on".
> When I open the main menu to scroll through my apps, at the top it shows like 5 or 6 recently opened apps. Can I hide those? I find them more confusing then helpfull really.
I believe it's the three most recently opened apps. There's no way to change that. But knowing it's there, shouldn't be a problem to scroll down (the scroll bar at the right tells you that you're at the top of the list). By the way, you can also favorite items within the app list: long press on the and they will get a star on them and show up in between the three recents and the alphabetical list. Long press again to remove the star if you changed your mind.
> Can I add custom tile faces without any third party apps? In the WearOS app on my phone I can only choose out of like 5 tiles to add, like google fit, the weather etc. I would like to have a new one which just opens an app(yes I know I can program the hardware buttons to this)
Bubble cloud launcher tile can add a tile to give quick access to the apps you're interested in (you can also nest them in folders and subfolders on your tile). I really like it. There's a small bit of learning curve, but not too bad (it's worth it).
If you haven't tried, Bubble Cloud is worth your attention IMHO. It is not minimalist, though there are minimalist themes available separately. In fact this week they are giving one of the Minimalist themes for free!
Some of the features which make me always come back to Bubble Clouds eventually:
I hope the Bubble Cloud interactive watchface launcher will fit this category.
It is a watch-face and mini launcher 2-in-1:
