What is Reddit's opinion of Calendar Widget Month + Agenda?

If it could have a simple and elegant calendar widget too it wouldbe much welcomed. But not as bulky as Google's or Samsung's one, but something more like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.mildev84.agendareminder

It does amaze me though why people downvote someone's choice of homescreen setup. I like it, so why does anyone else care? Some people really have issues!

I use my phone primarily for work, hence all the information, and access to lots of apps from the home screen. Even when I'm not at work, I prefer quick access to apps, rather than it looking pretty and minimalistic. I've never been a fan of "nothing on the screen" :P

Calendar Widget Month+Agenda is not too bad. Unfortunately, they don't hook into reminders, so I'm stuck with stock still.

Do you mean you just want to see a blank calendar? With Calendar Widget, you could uncheck all of the calendars to show appointments from and it will show a blank calendar.

edit: Or if you leave the calendars checked, they just show dots, no text.

This app looks like any other on the play store but it is actually very configurable. I have the black transparent agenda on my home screen. You can change every single aspect with color/font pickers throughout. It replaced the APW agenda widget I used for years.

I've also used Simple Calendar Widget by MyColorScreen, but it seems to have had some issues with the later Android releases. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anod.calendar

The former one is simpler and quicker to get looking the way I want, the latter is more flexible; but you have to fuss with it.

My main paid apps:

Tasker - used it for many years....have some tasks that don't do an awful lot, but are just very handy and save me having to do little things. Wouldn't ever go without it.
Gentle Alarm - alarm clock app that has Tasker integration. I trigger a few tasker tasks when I dismiss my morning alarm. It's also the best alarm app I've used regardless of Tasker integration. It's chock full of features.
Our Groceries - shopping list app - has shared list integration, which means your husband/wife can also run the app on their phone (Android or iOS) and you can view and edit the same shopping lists in realtime. Incredibly handy. Also has Google Assistant / Google Home integration.

I regretted it at first. But then I realized how much I didn't need iMessage. Photos/videos are the only time it became an issue. This was last year. I was on iOS since the iPhone 4 so this was a pretty big deal for myself.

2 weeks ago, I decided to get a XS Max. It's honestly a wonderful device. Face ID is top notch and the UI is buttery smooth. But I couldn't figure out why I paid more for a phone that did less. Things I missed off the top of my head:

System wide ad blocker
Ability to set custom apps (browser mostly)
Speaking of browsers, having true chrome and FF, not just Safari wrapped up in a different skin
Having the always on display, with the weather always showing
Widgets that can be placed anywhere (I used this calendar widget where I could scroll 2 weeks into the future)
The big one, notification management. I feel like Apple did a half assed job with grouping. Replying to messages in the lockscreen/notification center still feels like it takes forever. Also I liked having the icons in the status bar. That way they felt like they were always there until I addressed them. With iOS, I felt like a lot of my notifications were getting lost.
Also Google Assistant really is a ton better. I asked Siri to play something on Spotify, totally forgetting you can't do that on iOS

Keep in my mind this is my list of things that just don't work well for my workflow on a mobile device. Android addresses them much better than iOS can for me. Outside of that, I feel like we're getting to a point where both are very similar. It's really just the small things that are different.

That being said, I returned the iPhone yesterday, I'm using an older iPhone 6 while I wait for Google to send me a new Pixel 2 XL. I hit up their support about battery issues I was having. Literally replied with "here's prepaid postage, send it to us and we'll have a new one sent back to you.

I use Calendar Widget. Does what I need and nothing more, so I like it.
