It looks like a volume control app. Long click on the top, and it opens a password prompt. Enter in one password, get to your porn.
Type in another, and it opens a secondary folder set up.
I've never bothered, but I believe you can add things to the second one, so it's more believable.
Not sure about Google Photos, but this app is great . It looks like a audio Manager app, but if you click the header and hold it down, it comes up with a pin code. You enter your secret pin code and it goes to your hidden files.

I recommend Hide It Pro. It's called Audio Manager in disguise and not only you can lock your apps, you can also lock your media files. Another great feature of Hide It Pro is that it will lock you apps by popping up "your app is not responding" and you actually have to type in your password in the report option.

Can block any contact, or any number you enter, from being rang or ringing you. And is hidden behind a fake app so whoever, doesnt know, it looks like the number you are trying to dial isnt working.
As I understand it hidden folders work differently in Linux (which android is based on) to Windows. So to hide the folder from both your phone and windows you'd need to do it both ways.
Part of what you can do though, if you want to hide the photos from your gallery is to create what is called a nomedia file. This tells the gallery to not bother looking in the folder for media because there isn't any here.

It's a great app to hide those oh so subtle "pics and videos" you don't want others to see.
It looks like a volume tuner but you can hide stuff.
I have found that telegram is one of the best. It has a biometric/ping code lock, disappearing messages, hidden chats, and so on. You can keep your notification on and he can disable that if he does not want a notification.
No matter what he uses, he can use "Audio Manager" on top of it. It's an app that locks your messaging app and if someone tries to run the messaging app, it shows a screen as if there was an error running the app. only the owner knows that if they enter a specific key sequence, it will open their messaging app .

Also one thing that I always tell ppl, no matter if its your phone or PC, put a min auto screen lock on it. Sometimes its hassle but its saved you from bigger issues

When you open the app, you long press on the logo up top. It's going to ask you to set a pin. Once you've set your pin, you can create folders where you hide stuff. Once you've hid a video, go back in your gallery and delete it from there... it's going to stay in the app :)

Could you give me some benefits of vault rather than my current app? I like how hide it pro can be disguised as a regular app and can even have a fake pin so you can have an "empty" vault.

I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hideitpro&hl=en it hides everything you select behind a fake 'audio manager' app with a secret place to hold to unlock, THEN a pin, then all your hidden apps are in there. Doesnt hide a folder as such, but hides all the apps that you would put in a folder anyway, and is great. I have nova and have used them both fine for years.
I use "Audio Manager" to hide pictures. It's an app that looks like a volume control app, but there's a hidden function to open a PIN locked gallery.

It then has a fake 'audio mananger' app disguise which you press a certain part of the screen for a set amount of time, enter a pin code and get to the main features. Then hide the girlfriends number in there, it can then be set to not show on dialer, only be dialed from inside the app, Then she can delete her number from the actual proper contacts as it is then saved in the hide it app. Also, if she then rings/text her son, it doesnt ring but an icon appears in the status bar informing of an 'audio problem' so the son then goes into the app to get the message or to ring her back.

Hide It Pro - Hides videos, pictures, messages etc. It looks like Audio Manager (even is named "Audio Manager" in the system, functional btw), but you can tap Apps name or hold it and it opens pin/password page. When you enter pin/password you can access your hidden files. You can technically get to the files through: Android-> Data -> com.hideitpro -> Files -> ProgramData->Android->Language->(need to activate "Show hidden files") .fr -> And you can see hidden files. But realistically, chance that someone who knows this is pretty small. Be warned - don't change vault location without having backup.
Tapet - automatically generates high-quality backgrounds. Pretty neat looking wallpapers, especially if you prefer minimalism look.
Weather Mate (Weather M8) (frequent app updates) - weather app/widget. Personally staying with this one because it looks great (has Dark theme).

You can just use it to hide the pictures you don't want deleted
