This is definitely a bug in the YouTube app. You should contact their support via their support channels listed at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube
RIF does not do anything special with YouTube videos when passing them over to the YouTube app, it just hands over a simple URL.
Once you've recorded the video, you can use the YouTube app to upload a video. You'll need a Google account, if you don't have one. Then you can just send them a link to the video.
For Dropbox, you can upload the video to that app and then share the link with them as well. Dropbox is nice and handy to have on your phone in general, for keeping files between computers, phones, tablets, etc...
Their shitty app (full of ads) still has an insanely high 4.4 rating - you know what you have to do now ;) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube&hl=bg&gl=US

I use the official YouTube app. What else?
I never used Flex. I'm not sure it was out before I switched to Android (2 years ago). From what I can tell, it's not really applicable to Android. If you're just looking for app tweaks (and are rooted, which, on a N9, you should be), check out the Xposed framework. Basically Android's MobileSubstrate (if that's still a thing).
Ads are best blocked by AdAway. It's not in the Play store, but you can install F-Droid (an alternate app market) and get it through there, or just download the APK directly. AdAway basically just downloads a custom hosts file and replaces the device hosts file with the custom one, so ads are blocked universally. Much easier than AdBlock+'s proxy server solution.
>What exactly do you mean when you say that it can be reset after significant charging?
After the battery is full or after the battery was charged enough, things that happened are deleted. What it is exactly may be here (scroll to 12523) but it's technical.
>Are the log reports in layman's terms or will I need something to decipher the language used?
Notably, "package names" are shown instead of app names. Each app has its own package name, for example, YouTube has a Play Store link of https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube , and "com.google.android.youtube" is its package name.
>How do I go about seeing if something has been installed on it
dumpsys appops shows when a permission was last used. There's dumpsys package → firstInstallTime
>I have noticed that "System Trace reports" and "Bug Reports" under developer options currently have 0mb. If I plug it in to a computer, will there be anything or would it be a waste of time?
"bug report" is just another way to get the same information. Usagestats can alternatively be read by third party apps that have a certain permission, or even *#*#4636#*#* → Usage statistics → last time used.
Yes they do, apps have a package name which is enforced by the app store to be unique.
For example, take the YouTube app. Look at the URL of the appstore listing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube
You'll notice something that looks like a backwards domain name here: com.google.android.youtube
This is that apps unique package name, and password managers can use that to auto fill in apps as well.
So if you open an app with something like Bitwarden installed, it can check and give a reasonable recommendation as to whether to auto fill the info for you.
Now I should add, none of this helps you if you side load apps. By side loading you're bypassing this requirement of globally unique package names, and a malicious actor could just impersonate a legitimate app to trick your password manager into suggesting an auto fill when it is not appropriate.
Their shitty app (full of ads) still has an insanely high 4.4 rating - you know what you have to do now ;)

I think the last update from Google apps (YouTube) was 10th Dec on the play store based on what I have on my device https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube . So it is after the 6th but not much after that.
I did not see any updates since then, even in the new year there is no Google app updates on Android so I think 9to5mac is making a big deal out of nothing
See above or below for a Samsung device. Alternatively,
The permission to pause can be revoked with the PC program ADB.
adb shell cmd appops set <package name here> TAKE_AUDIO_FOCUS ignore
ignore or deny, the default is allow. The app may then not work correctly.
If rooted, it can be done directly on the phone with su -c cmd appops set <package name here> TAKE_AUDIO_FOCUS ignore
The package name can be obtained for example, by clicking share on the play store, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube

Use Autoapps to build a list of installed applications and check each page for update dates and compare them to the current. You would have to build the current database.
Not going to be easy but definitely not the hardest.
You can trigger the check to happen at X time. For downloading specific applications you could see if there alternative host like apkmirror. I am currently at a loss on how to download from the Play store from mobile without the Play store application.
Normally language dependence which native language for example the Play Store detects from your system, this will be extracted and shipped as a JSON. You can change the language by adding for example a hl=en or hl=it at the end of your url for the Google Play Store or a l=en, l=it for the Apple Play Store. Examples are: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube&hl=it https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/youtube/id544007664?hl=it
Which url have you called when you get the mixed languages? Can you provide me the link and I will look into it.
Open this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube and tell me whether it says that you already installed the app or if it offers you to install the app.
That ad is some adware you can see on google play if some app like youtube contain ads.

That is an extremely clever idea. As the concept may not be obvious to everybody:
Google calls 360° panorama pictures "Photospheres" and included a way to watch them from within the Android Cardboard app. You have to load the picture onto your phone, e.g. into the DCIM/Camera folder. Once you enter the photosphere viewer in Cardboard app, you can turn around and look at the panorama surrounding you, forwarding through all found panoramas with switch/button/touch. This is a very nice way to explore a different location like Mars or the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
This is of course an elaborate process, starting with the need to find the pictures. This video is just 150 of these panoramas, each shown for about four seconds. Doesn't make much sense if you watch it on a PC, but if you use the latest version of the Android YouTube app (no iOS support yet), it detects the 360° video format and a) lets you look around to and b) provides a Cardboard button to switch to a stereoscopic view. Switch/button/touch pause and restart the video, so you can use it as a slide show too, stopping whenever you want to look around.
The quality will not be as good as with most photospheres, because a) the video resolution streamed to a phone will top at 1920 * 1080, while images can be much larger and b) YouTube videos use a high compression rate, removing many details. But nonetheless this is a great and very user friendly way to let people experience photospheres. Kudos for coming up with this elegant solution. And check AvaVR's YouTube playlists for more 360° videos.
Can you find the YouTube app on the Play Store? Can you open this link on mobile:
