If your pc has bluetooth, then just use that. If not, then I'm not sure, but you can get a cheap Bluetooth dongle to make it work. That one won't have a lot of range since it's so small, but it should work.
exactly that. I've since started using rubber caps, bought on Amazon, the paws look and feel great.
Frienda 26 Pieces Replacement... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZGD8GR1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yeah, original SNES controller buttons fit into the 8BitDo controllers without any issues. I replaced my stock Pro 2 buttons with European SNES buttons, the colored ones, and they do feel a little bit shorter. I would suggest searching for replacement SNES controller buttons, and those should be good, if you're willing to take your controller apart temporarily.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076F26FQY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_94ARPVHQ0JH1D2V4BE73
Yeah. Appears to be a mistake in the listing. None of the reviews mention, or pictures show, a case. The case is definitely a separate purchase.
There is unfortunately no way they would include the case at that price when it costs £17.45 alone.
I haven't gone the Sanwa route for my joysticks yet (I plan to) but I did replace the stock gate with this Sanwa octagonal gate and it made a big difference. It gives you a much better feel for the up/down/left/right directions. Just pop the old one off and this one snaps on in its place.
Unrelated, but I also replaced the ball-top with a bat-top.
try this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M6CRQ71/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_JVTMCK2S3V1E77Q35TZB i dont know why its not working for you. Here is the name of the item

Yah, but the previous controller I got was bluetooth, and wouldn't work. In another post I was told it was "too new" of a controller and wouldn't work with the adapter.
Previous (now returned) controller: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFB488B/
Definitely. The Pro 2 is a great controller, but being able to have that single shift paddle is huge, making the Elite more useful. Turning ABXY into the d-pad at a click has almost become ingrained in how I do things now.
It's just a shame about the QC. I've owned a couple Series 2 and while the problems can vary, the big one you're guaranteed to get are the LB/RB bumpers double clicking.
In order to fix them, you have to pop off the face plate, and spray in some contact cleaner, then clean it up with alcohol. Once you do this it seems to fix the issue, but it definitely needs to be done at some point. https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-D5S-6-DeoxIT-Contact-Cleaner/dp/B00006LVEU/

I have just remembered I saw the same XFUNY joysticks on amazon.de, as today only available colors blue and black. I didn't buy, so I'm not 100% sure it's the same product.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking also. :( Thanks for helping out!
I couldn't find the one you had linked either on US Amazon.
I did come across this one, which "might" potentially work:
The face buttons I got from Console5. They fit really well; they're ever so sightly looser than the stock buttons, since they only have two little tabs on each of them as opposed to three, but it's barely noticeable.
As for the joysticks, I think these are the ones that fit in the 8BitDo controllers. The 8BitDo controllers have more Wii U-shaped sticks on the inside, while every third-party stick you can buy is shaped like the more standard PlayStation and Xbox sticks on the inside. For some reason, these were the only metal sticks that fit in an 8BitDo controller (even though the shape still doesn't look exactly the same), but I've bought so many metal sticks for various controllers that I'm not 100% sure if these are the ones in the photo. I'm pretty sure they are, but not absolutely positive, unfortunately. The fit is basically perfect, even better than they were in the Pro+ (which is where these two in particular came from for my Pro 2).
these are the caps I use. They've been in my controller for about 8 months and are nice and grippy.
I have problem pairing PS5 controller or PS4 controller on v2.0 firmware of the wireless adaptor. I tried multiple version and see that at the last version working is 1.32. Does anyone else experience the same issue? or is there some workaround that i dont see?
the symptom is that, the wireless adaptor seems to recognize the controller (ps5 controller vibrates when i do the pairing process) but nintendo switch does not seem to detect the controller at all, as in all button presses didnt seem to work. Thanks in advance!

This is for phones, but it’s the best I think you’ll find? I’m not sure.
IDK about the switch ones but I doubt it. I tried a PS4 control freak and it was just a smidgen to big. You can play with it but it can fall off if you smack it to hard. I had some stick covers for the ps4 from Amazon and those fit fine (here's the covers I used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077BSBXPK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DtGsBbQECQ10E )
It is compatible if you use it either with bluetooth or via the USB Cable.
To get it working properly you need to have it recognized properly by Windows. If using Bluetooth you need to make sure you activate it properly. I don't know about the original SN30 but with the SN30 Pro you need to hold Start + X Button to turn it on in X-Input Mode. I'm not sure if the same applies if connected via USB Cable or not.
On the SN30 Pro and possibly on others, if you flip the controller around and look at the back there is a cheat-sheet that shows you what buttons to hold down when turning it on for which mode you want to start the controller in. If you launch it in the wrong mode, you can force it to turn off by entering pairing mode by holding down Start + Select + L (L1) + R (R1), after a few seconds in pairing mode it will shut itself off because it's not being paired.
If you don't have bluetooth on your PC, you can buy a USB adapter very cheap on Amazon. You can use any of them but I would suggest one that uses Broadcom, this is the one I have
That's how it is. The board should have come with a microusb cable that has an extra long connector. You can buy a replacement on Amazon if you don't have it. https://www.amazon.com/Cellet-Extra-Micro-Charging-Cable/dp/B01M1M63Q9/
Yeah, I found one on Amazon. It was on sale, so I jumped for it, and here I am wondering if I should keep it or return it. I don’t know where you live, but I’m from Canada, so I ordered it from the Canadian website, but if you care, I found a link to it on the American site, (assuming that’s the one you use.) https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-SN30-Controller-Windows-macOS-Android/dp/B0748S1VDC/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=8Bitdo&qid=1603598376&sr=8-16 Technical details aside, this is one of the prettiest controllers I’ve ever seen, I must say.
Currently this what I am using,

And I want to use the sn30 2.4ghz the one that comes with the snes plug.
I have a video of a similar problem that I sent to 8bitdo. Here it is on YouTube.. Every 4 seconds or so the input slows down, leading to something similar to what you described. Funny thing is I tested it on every device I had and got the same issue, until I got to my Acer r11 Chromebook, which worked perfectly. The Chromebook is on Android 7.1.1 and all my other devices are Android 9 or higher, so I'm unable to see if it's an Android issue or a controller issue.
I'll be keeping tabs on your post, since you're the first one I've encountered with almost the exact issue I've had.
The app I did the test in was Gamepad Tester just rotate the sticks and pay attention to the green dots and their spacing.
I tried this with my other controllers, Xbox one, PS4 rev2, Moga Pro Power and it's crazy how different they perform through Bluetooth.
i think you just have to buy them separately now.

Looks like they've dropped support, your best best is check if the play store version still supports it for your android version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abitdo.advance&hl=en_US&gl=US
If it doesn't, you might try with the deprecated versions:
Yep, these are the stuff my dude:
It's the first time I've seen them on Amazon tbh.
The Galaxy ones are the best option I think, as you have heights to choose from, given that using one on the left stick is not recommended for shooters.
Just try to keep your hands dry, as I've seen that they can start falling apart very quickly in certain hands.
About 1/3 of the way down the page:
“We're regularly updating the firmware with new system compatibility like the Switch, Raspberry Pi, Retron5 and more.”
No mention of the need for an receiver. I bought it on that assumption.

nifty.
But golly, I have more controllers than I can use now.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The grandson (age 5) has not (yet) managed to break any of the 8-bitdos I have collected.
This was the carrying case of the SN30 Pro, but it appears to be discontinued. Try your luck on other websites? Amazon is sold out, but it has the picture here. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Classic-Controller-Protection-Android-iOS/dp/B07BDDRKCN/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1G81DFUD6WVAQ&keywords=8bitdo+case&sprefix=8bitdo+cas%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-9
The SN30 Pro+ does for sure, but I'm more curious about the SN30 Pro
You don't. There's probably a handful of wired gamepads with a "power off" feature. I'm yet to see one of them.
You can grab a USB hub with "power" switches, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/ORICO-Charging-Individual-Switches-Computer/dp/B08HYGXRWW?th=1
You can order replacements on 8BitDo's website. I don't believe they sell these anywhere else yet. Alternatively, you could try to track down replacement analog sticks on sites like eBay or Amazon, but those are more hit and miss if they actually fit correctly.
To avoid that happening again in the future, here's a link to the carrying case 8BitDo released for the SF30 Pro, it doesn't appear to be sold on their website anymore. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Classic-Controller-Protection-Android-iOS/dp/B07BDDRKCN
I will say, this will definitely make the controller more bulky in your bag, but it will protect the controller. And the original cases 8BitDo partnered with, Dynamic Labs/Geek Theory, while it technically does fit, it is an extremely tight fit with the analog sticks constantly being pressed up against the top of the case. These are not being sold anywhere anymore regardless, but I just wanted to mention it anyway. Their newest case would also protect the controller, but it's designed for the Pro+ and Pro 2 controllers with handles, your SF30 Pro would just flop around freely in the case unless you bought cushion yourself and padded it.
you can get a replacement from 8bitdo OR just glue it onto the stick and get stick grips for the pad.
i bought myself these and they work well on the steam controller, my 8bitdo sn30 pro+ and my ps5 dual sense pads. they kinda slide off of the switch pro controller though.
I can't say for sure without opening it, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that any generic replacement cable works. Something like this, though you'd have to make sure the pins all match. That particular one is an Xbox 360 cable and the 8bitdo controller seems, from the outside, to use the same style, so that one might actually work.
It won't work by default - but you can make it work no problem!
I don't have a Pro 2 - but I do have a Pro 1, a Pro+ and an M30 - and use them all on my Xbox One X.
You need two adapters to do so though - first - the 8bitdo USB adapter - then also this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VY4MMGG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I haven't had any lag or issues - played through most of Cuphead with my M30 - so I think I would've noticed lag issues
Unfortunately, Genshin Impact does not officially support external controllers on Android devices.
Yup. Ever since its release back in 2020 up till this day, there is zero controller support on Android. It's a shame, given that Apple devices do have support for them, which leads to some people to think that Apple has a deal with miHoYo to restrict controller support to iOS/iPadOS only.
There are unofficial ways to map the controller inputs to the touchscreen controls, such as using the Mantis Pro app, but in my experience they kinda suck because it's not really a full controller experience. But that's really the only way to use your 8BitDo Pro 2 for Genshin Impact on Android.
Best fix I've tried to minimize accidental diagonal inputs is to disassemble the controller and use adhesive 3-ring binder page reinforcements on each copper contact/pad for up, down, left and right. 1 to 3 layers should do it. You could try more to completely block diagonal inputs.

So, funny enough, I bought mine to play cod mobile and genshin. Turns out neither of those games support that controller. GI doesn't support any controller on Android, and cod will only accept a small list of approved controllers. I not use it for stadia games mostly.
I have used this app to test if the controller is inputs are being registered.
I got this one, there would ve equivalent sticks in your regions ecom store.
You'd have to get grip for this sticks separately as they hurt if you play intensity for too long.
Are you stupid? Or trolling?

Do you think it's the software, your specific hardware/controller, the adapter...? I have some specific Wii U pro controller adapter thing that's the one that seems to not really have good analog functionality to the sticks. I'm intrigued with the adapter you mentioned, along with the version 2. Do you recommend besides the left stick oddity?
It’s not just Xbox, the Switch Pro controller is a similar asymmetrical layout. As someone that grew up playing PlayStation for over two decades, it just feels weird in my hands to even use the Switch joy cons in the grip, so I bought the SN30 Pro Plus to use with the Switch. Oddly enough though, the Xbox controller isn’t nearly as awkward, don’t get me wrong, it certainly doesn’t feel normal to me, but it’s less weird and brain frying than the Switch joy cons, especially in hand held mode, that thing is fucked up in hand held mode!
I think the Wii U pro controller had the two sticks up top, and the D pad and buttons down lower. Am I imagining that? Did I take acid unbeknownst to me and I’m tripping balls right now? I gotta go look that up…..
No, turns out I’m not tripping balls, the Wii U Pro controller was proper weird.
There's this which is wired, so doesn't have Bluetooth, and isn't compatible with switch I don't think. But does that the xbox-layout.
I’d bet they mean the out-of-production Bluetooth one: https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Mobile-Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Android/dp/B017PAX040/ref=mp_s_a_1_45?crid=3JQXYLT32OECU&keywords=sfc30+8bitdo&pscroll=1&qid=1649054255&sprefix=sfc30%2Caps%2C74&sr=8-45&wIndexMainSlot=69
Ohhh my bad, you bough that Xbox themed abomination, I don’t know why they call that one an SN30 as well, they should have given that a different model number. Yeah I’d return that one and get a REAL SN30 like this oneThey button will be reversed but it’s whatever. I use with with Xcloud just fine on Android and iOS both.
oh they're thumb grips, since the sticks are about the same size as PS4 controller sticks I just got some, here's where I got mine 20Pieces Analog Stick Joystick Controller Performance Thumb Grips Compatible with PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S Controller Joystick Grips https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095P2Q31D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_AZG3MGSSRAKBTRA3Y8WA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Ah, I see. Another option -- and I don't know how much money you want to spend here -- is to buy one of their Xbox controllers and swap the buttons with the ones in the Pro+. That's what I did with my Pro 2 to give it the proper layout (I play mostly on the PC), and it looks fantastic, and I have another controller now! XD
This was the controller I got (but I didn't pay the full $39.99 just for the buttons, I waited for a sale):

sorry, i don't have a windows 11 yet.
N30 is only .1 inches or 3mm shorter in length than an SN30. This is the case I’m talking about. Universal between the two. 8bitdo Case
nope, you'll need a magic s pro usb adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081V8G1YX/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and you could plug in the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter 1 and 2 at the end of it's usb female port and plug the mayflash magic s pro usb adapter into the ps4.
They are just better juild
Hey, sorry for bringing up the past like that, but I'd like to know how well this held up, and also, did you apply your heated iron directly on the battery terminals?
I'm receiving 2 batteries this week, wanna make sure I don't screw up too bad and that it lasts a while.
Seems to not be the case. I was asking this question to know about those cheaper, high quality name brand 8bitdo ones, but lots of remotes are wireless dongle driven.
I ended up going with this one a few minutes ago https://www.amazon.com/W10-GYRO-Keyboard-Controller-Learning/dp/B078NT49MJ
what do you really mean?
if you mean using a wired controller and plug it's usb on the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter, then the answer is no, the adapter doesn't a female usb port on the bottom.
if you mean using a wired controller and bluetooth it on the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter, then the answer is no, because it's not a bluetooth like those wired xbox 360 controllers.
if you mean using a wired controller with the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter to play as 2 players then the answer is yes, but you need a official sony controller (from the store that is by itself) or nintendo wii u or "switch" pro controller to sync with that version. if you want to sync bluetooth xbox one or series x controller, you'll need this wireless usb adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M8CVMYF .
the orange/brown wireless usb adapter doesn't work on xbox one/series x controllers with the latest update (on the controllers) any more you need the black one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M8CVMYF?th=1 .
for the ps4 controller to work on both black and orange/brown wireless usb adapter, make sure it's a bluetooth ps4 controller you got from the store, not the ones that comes with the ps4/ps4 pro. press and hold "share button" + "ps logo" (home button" for a few seconds until the controller's light is flashing then press the sync button on the one of the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter then it'll be synced together.
I've been using my Pro 2 on a Series X with a Brook Wingman XB, which says on the box that it works with Xbox One.
If you search on YouTube you can find some videos of people using it with an Xbox One. Would definitely recommend.
The Spin Throw is to jump them throw the hat and jump again?
If it is, yes, I did this way: https://files.fm/thumb_show.php?i=qnjpjrvdv
To use, you just have to jump first, I prefer this way.
if you got the gray and orange/brown ones, they don't work with xbox one/series x controller with the latest update - you'll need to buy this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M8CVMYF .
i just use any controller when i can, but mostly i like the wii u pro controller a lot and used it with this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M8CVMYF in xinput mode (xbox controller input) - just too bad the wii u pro controller going to cost a lot on amazon and ebay is risky.
what do you think of the 3rd party snes controller? is this one the same one?
thinking about getting this to hook up with my wii
I take mine to work and keep it in this case which is small enough to fit into my blazer pocket. Perfect for the office lol https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MFV4Z8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_D8JT4R5AFFT2MF9C3MD1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Yeah, it's any of the 3 prong type buttons. They're standard on a lot of controller types, such as most of Nintendo's and a number of other brands.
Any that look like this will work. The sizing is standardized, IIRC.
https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Buttons-Replacement-Nintendo-Controller/dp/B076F26FQY
This is the 8bitDo that I have, it has bluetooth but I am using it wired to my PC. Will it still work wired?
These are the Kontrol Freeks I got and they ended up fitting EXTRA tight. Like even tighter than on the controllers they were designed for. It took a bit of extra force to get them on, so I'm pretty confident that they're not coming off in the middle of a match any time soon.Made the controller way more comfortable and now I love my Pro 2.
Although maybe I wish I would have stuck with the "Edge" variety of Kontrol Freeks like I had on my PS4. I went with this Galaxy one because they're white(the other varieties clash with the color scheme of my G Classic Pro 2) and have 2 different height sticks which are are my favorite kind of Kontrol Freeks... but I think I like the feel of the Edge ones a little bit better. On the Edge ones the left stick is a little bit shorter and the grip on the Edge ones feel great, they're like Convex and Concave mixed together perfectly.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the Galaxy. They're probably the best ones that are Concave only. And I'm sure I'll get used to them more over time. But as of right now I prefer the Edge by a slight margin and wish I didn't let color dictate which one I picked. lol

At first when I start to configure RetroPie, I was stubborn enough to apply the xbox/pc layout, changing also configuration in retroarch in several emus to accommodate this layout... At first it went ok, but when more gamepads get into the equation, it proves to be a bad idea. I suggest to follow this layout and get use to it:
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/
At the end of the page is the recomended layout for each controller type. It can saves you lots of extra work in config screens.
I did leave the original gba pcb in. I could open it up and take pics if you want, but basically I soldered one cable per button (they share a common ground) and the ground and positive of the battery leads of the zero directly to the battery contacts of the gba. only the L and R of the zero were left out without using them, I may later add two extra buttons on the top-back of the gba, but I haven't found a game that strictly requires 6 buttons besides Select, Start and D-pad.
These are the connections for the buttons on the gba pcb: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/assets/uploads/files/1524492730967-gameboyadncace-board-pins-resized.jpg
I used all the connections there except Ground and 5v.
The zero power led is always red because of the low voltage coming from the two AA rechargeables (instead of the 3.7v original) but it would take ages before I need to recharge them since now I have about 21 times (2x 1900mAh Eneloop AA) the original battery capacity (180mAh).
Return the grey adapter and buy the new black one.
Sounds like you want a bluetooth remote.
This has volume: https://www.amazon.com/TUNAI-Button-Media-Remote-Control/dp/B07JQ8Q6X6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=bluetooth+remote&qid=1640592397&sr=8-5
I would look for something with like directional arrows, play/pause, and volume.
this one might work: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M8CVMYF
but i read one thread that one user having trouble with it, so i don't know if it works with the xbox series x/s eltie series perfectly yet, probably work with a standard xbox series x/s controller though.
Seems quite pricey, do you use one?
Can't confirm it works with Playstation Remote Play, but can confirm it works on Android in multiple modes.
If Minecraft supports controllers, then probably. X-Input mode should realistically work with the game.
This is the case they made officially for the controller, it is not included. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Classic-Controller-Travel-Shell-PC/dp/B07CK5VF9R/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=8bitdo+case&qid=1639381290&sr=8-5
Feel free to look around for a better price, I've seen cheaper than 16 dollars on Amazon before.
Wow fast response, thankyou!
This one It's black so I'm pretty sure it was the 2nd one right? Say's my firmware is 1.00 but I think that's up to date for the 2nd one isn't it?
What's the question? In context it makes sense to me.

Switch Pro controller is this: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pro-Controller/dp/B01NAWKYZ0
If you use DS4 extensively, I think a USB bluetooth dongle will be a better option for you since there are applications that give you much more control over DS4 if you connect it to PC through bluetooth directly.
It should be possible, but didn't test this myself (yet):

My bad. I should have mentioned it's the newer one that doesn't block it.
I have the N30 pro... which is a different model.... but i followed different instructions....

hold the L1/R1 buttons and power up the controller, connect via usb, and run fwupdmgr get-devices to show its connected. and then run fwupdmgr --get-updates... nothing about copying the DAT file manually...

any chance you can use that utility?
It's the plastic top so I shouldn't have to but here's the Amazon link:

The Brook bluetooth adapter has been out for awhile. More recently, the PS UnoRetro from Will's Console Mods became available - though at this point the preorder queue is a bit long.
I have both, and they work with 8bitdo controllers just fine.
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here is 8bitdo's stand-alone USB receiver:
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Adapter-Nintendo-Switch-Raspberry/dp/B0786JC6VW/
It will take all 8BitDo Controllers, PS5 Dualsense, PS4 and PS3 Dualshock, Switch Pro Controllers, Switch Joy-con, Wiimotes, Wii U Pro Controller, and more.
From what I Gather no it uses different Bluetooth versions the xbone uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE while the 8bitdo uses 2.1 protocol. searching reddit for an answer for you I stumbled upon this guy that uses his 8bitdo arcade stick on his series x.

Those are the buttons I'm gonna use, I saw them on one of Wulff Den's videos and wanted to try it or myself.
you'll need a xbox one s bluetooth controller:
the orange brick 8bitdo wireless usb adapter, i think you should downgrade back to v1.33, if you plan to used it on pc in xinput (xbox controller) mode. i got problems with it with my wii u pro controller - the triggers don't respond at all on firmware v2.0 and above it.
This is what I bought off Amazon. It seemed to fit the Xbox One S/X Bluetooth bill that everyone said I needed. What is the correct one if I return this?
I heard DS4 cases work since the form factor is similar.
However, 8bitdo does have their own travel case. I haven't bought it though so I can't comment on it.
I'm pretty sure the backs of the controllers are the same size and shape. The amazon reviews show people putting it the regular SN30 so I think it' should be fine:
https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Smartphone-Bluetooth-Gamepad-Black-pc/dp/B07VGHS48G?th=1
of course the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter is going to convert the ds4 controller into a xbox 360 controller for windows 10, if you set it into xinput mode.
you can try buying this: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B072VDFDRZ and sync your ds4 controller on it, it will probably act as a ps4 controller.
most games in steam, epic games store and etc. uses xinput (xbox 360/one/series x/s controller input) since all pc games with supported gamepad from the xbox 360 era starting to used it.
Only one controller can be connected.
Imo, do yourself a favor and get the collective minds one instead. 8bitdo support is lacking.

These
I use this hard-shell case for an SN30 Pro. It has just enough room in the pouch for the slightly flat USB cable that came with the controller. I assume it would work just as well for the regular SN30.
Not sure if that case would fit the NES controller, though.
Chances are you have a defective unit, since I have the pro+ and it works fine, assuming it has the same internals as the pro. Unless you really prefer the handle-less design of the pro, if you can, I'd recommend returning it and getting the pro+ (roughly the same price rn) or the pro 2 (5 usd more).
