MONTRÉAL at OTTAWA
First, hats off to our Ottawan /r/CFL'ers, including the inimitable /u/Stach37. Glad you're safe, glad you're sound.
This one's a tough one to pick. It's the first big public event in Ottawa since the shooting. The crowd is going to be huge and emotional. Montréal is riding high, but I think Ottawa rises up and wins it for the hometown crowd in a tough battle. OTT 24, MTL 23
SASKATCHEWAN at CALGARY
Another tough one. Cornish is sitting out and the Stamps have already clinched first place in the West, so we might not see the Calgary we're used to. At the same time, I'm pretty sure the Riders are so desperate they're negotiating with their equipment manager to sign the passing machine to a two-year deal.
I mean, just look at it, standing tall in the pocket.
Bottom line, Sask has something to play for and Calgary doesn't, but the Stamps are good enough for that to not be a factor. CGY 23, SSK 15
HAMILTON at TORONTO
Starbucks will be releasing a new drink this holiday season, the chestnut praline latte. Ignoring the fact that "praline" sounds like hemorrhoid medication, Starbucks says the drink is testing well, and could compete with their pumpkin spice latte for... famousness? Famosity? Whatever. Anyway, it's the most Toronto drink I've ever heard of, and luckily, it's coming out November 12th, just in time for them to miss the playoffs. HAM 28, TOR 12
BC at WINNIPEG
WPG 35, BC 31
Last week: 4-0
Overall: 7-4
EDIT> rephrased Toronto trash talk
Are people from Toronto dumb.
Its hotter on average in summer here and we have more varibility. It was like 38 for a week straight here.
Note that in the event that the league does decide to start blacklisting VPN IP addresses there are still workarounds. If you or someone you know is technically inclined you can set up your own VPN, on your own private server which they will not be able to identify as a VPN.
Instructions for one possible implementation found here: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-an-openvpn-server-on-ubuntu-16-04
I'm as guilty of video game nostalgia as the next 80's child, but I don't think I'm gonna waste much time on that one. Give me an NHL '94 hack with today's teams and players and maybe I'll bite.
I use Private Internet Access a month, if you sign up for a year.
Anyone want to give https://dns4me.net/ a try? I used it for a while back when I still cared about American Netflix and it worked well. DNS services are much nicer to use than VPNs, and this particular one actually allows you to configure your own redirections, rather than relying on them to support your desired service (which I'm sure most of the big ones will not, in this case).
The other day it gave me a mid-roll ad during the internal ad for NordVPN or whatever it was. Bruh, "We heard you like this video so we put an ad in your ad so you can watch while you watch"? It's aggressive. Leaves me watching primarily on my computer.
I'll test this out next weekend and report back to see what the quality is versus ExpressVPN. If I can still access League Pass with no discernable difference in streaming quality BEST BELIEVE I'M GETTING THAT 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE PLAYBOY.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Also note that if you just want to try this out for a single game w/o paying for a VPN subscription, you could try out a service like TunnelBear which has a free tier. You'll no doubt burn through the 500MB limit on the free tier long before the game is over, but you'll be able to see proof-of-concept and get a feel for what it's like to use this solution before committing to it.
Hi, excellent post. Here is a mistake in maths. ExpressVPN is 59.95 United States dollars, in Canadian dollars it is $77.31, which makes the total investment $194.31/sessions instead of $176. I am using Ivacy VPN, which is only $57.95 for 6 months. which makes the total investment only $174.95/sessions or $29/month.
If you see the airhorns the fans are using(on tv like 2nd(?) Qtr) they aren't compressed air it looks like you push the air through so not a banned style. They looked like below, hand push pump.

In 2015 the Roughriders made $15.7 million in ticket sales, and $4.4 million in TV revenue.
TV viewership is not where the money is. It's amazing that so many in this thread seem to think so.
This is a WordPress site right? The usual plugin for this is WPML. Usually you'd want to create one site with different versions of the same page, rather than two independent sites...
With two sites you'd have to somehow map every single page to it's corresponding page on the other site, on both sites. Frankly that sounds like a PITA and hard to maintain.
I also stumbled upon this non-fiction book about football in France, if anyone is interested: Le Football: A History of American Football in France by Russ Crawford
Update:
As /u/Tommy1232 pointed out the Opera browser comes with a built-in VPN. So I'm going to be testing that out this weekend to see if that works on par with ExpressVPN in terms of how smooth the stream is and if I get booted or not. I'll post what I find up here in a new stickied comment.
If the Opera browser works on-par with the ExpressVPN, this should hopefully save everyone some $$$ from purchasing a VPN. If you went the ExpressVPN route, note they have a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, so everyone shouldn't be out anything!
Cheers guys!
EDIT 1: The Opera Browser via their built-in VPN WORKS for League Pass VOD in full HD, no lagging or hiccups. Good sign for live streaming. I'll keep update again when I try it out for this weekends games!
EDIT 2: Going through Opera seems a lot less CPU intensive as well as compared to using ExpressVPN

I get pretty decent speed with Private Internet Access. There may be some slow down, but it's never been an issue for me. You enable it with an app on the device you're using and you can turn it on and off any time, or select from quite a large number of regions. There's a button to complain about slow speed. Not sure what good it does.
It's literally 9$ with free shipping on Amazon right now!
I may snag it actually
Thanks. I actually have Dunigan's book and I'm sure there will be some interesting chapters about that (and the 700+ yard game, which must be the one you were referring to, July 14, 1994).
PS4 headphones aren't bad, usually. In my experience, this guy is the most mic you can get for under $40.
I have a book called "Rider Pride on the American Side" about a family from Minnesota who are big fans (was published before the 2007 Grey Cup win, then released again in a Grey Cup edition after it). Haven't read it all yet but they seem like nice people.
Cohon, the NFL is a dead league walking as it tries to pretend that the widespread reality of the concussion crisis isn't coming into full bloom in the minds of parents everywhere.
League of Denial makes this absolutely clear.
And the decline in youth football participation in year-over-year trends is now beginning to show 3-4% declines each year. Your doom is foretold. The end will soon be near.
Whistling past the graveyard ("The recorded number of concussions was essentially flat over last year, but we believe we’re doing a better job of addressing it and treating our players") isn't going to do any good to that much talked about bottom line.
Personally I use a Chromecast however most smart TVs have mirroring built in.
As for TSN go it's a free download from Google Play!
