Alright mate I’m about to drop about 6 years worth of perfection on you. I’m not on a computer so bear with me.
So the Westeros only mod is good yeah, but we at the moment don’t need it to host three people fairly stably (maybe one desync every couple hours)
So you get (Hamachi, y’all make accounts and get yourselves on your own server, and before you get into a game you go into windows firewall. Advanced settings, it’ll say ‘domain profile’, ‘public profile’, ‘private profile’ or some shit like that. Go into the advanced settings there and disable the firewall totally on each of those, and under ‘protected connections’ or some shit untick hamachi.
Now in hamachi itself open up the settings and have a look around until you find ‘encrypt peer connections’ or something like that and just turn it off.
So now whatever problems you guys may have had having a direct tunnel on hamachi should be clear.
So launch your game, but turn off everything to do with slavery in your advanced set-up. Slavery just craps all over synchronisation and it’s not worth it. Honestly helps so so much to turn it off. Dragons also seem to hurt sync a bit, but we keep them on and only de sync every couple hours so worth it IMO.
When you start the game, don’t touch anything for like 10-15 days of in-game time. Idk if this is voodoo or what but we read it somewhere and it seems to work, and we were getting so frustrated we’d try anything. Hope this helps (it should), when you desynchronise; and you will eventually, just have the host save the game, everyone quit to desktop and rehost. Shouldn’t happen often.
CK2: The Seven Kingdoms is a mod designed for multiplayer.
I don't think it's as fleshed out or been updated in a year, but you'll have more luck there than playing this mod with 10 people.
Well, I spent about 2 hours on it tonight and made SOME progress, but not too much.
As you can see I am getting a ton of events that I can't close, but the formation of a new Kingsguard seemed to work.
If you'd like to base any of your work off of the changes I've made I've uploaded them to drop box: http://www.filedropper.com/kingsguardmod
I don't intend to continue down this path though, if anything I may instead look at providing bodyguards more flavor.
EDIT: And this is just the North, it'd probably take several hours to iron out all the issues with this one and then you'd have to do it for all the other Empires aswell.
You need a text editor like Notepad++. Open the .mod file for whichever submod you're trying to install with your text editor and then change the file's text with the example Sin provided:
dependencies={"A Game of Thrones"} Location *\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod sinocide.mod with the dependency. name="Sin's Genocide Mod" path="mod/Sinocide" dependencies={"A Game of Thrones"} picture="SinStar87.jpg"
For most of his submods you don't need to do this though. Depends on which one you're trying to install.
Oops, I believe this is the one you want. He made a version just for AGOT. It really hasn't been updated for a while :/ But it still works for me.
Sadly, I don't remember where I downloaded it from. I'd have to downgrade to 2.8.1 to check which ones work. Try downloading agot version 1.6 and see if this version works.
Edit: make sure the version you have is really 2.8.1 and not 2.8.1.1. There are agot mod versions for each (1.6 and respectively 1.6.1)
Make sure you check the sub-mods list on the right of the screen, there is quite a bit of REALLY good ones.
Martin released a sort of history book for Westeros and the rest of the world. Its called The World of Ice and Fire. Its written from the perspective of a maester writing a historical account so it all feels very immersive. Its a really big book though, so make sure you have a tall shelf somewhere!
That's probably the cause right there. You need to update CK2 to the correct version. Either that or you'll have to use an older version of the AGOT mod. The newest version of the mod that would be compatible with 2.7.2.0 would be AGOT 1.5.
Alright thanks everyone, good news and bad news. Good news is I got it working...on a new save (playing as Aegon). Bad news is I sent my old save (the one we're talking about since I could NOT get it working, even hatched a brand new dragon via console commands) into the depths of my google drive. Odd thing is I added a mod and THEN it started working.
Thanks everyone for the help, I'll keep the save to see what and where the actual F U C K went wrong, yey.
If you'll excuse me I have some terrible videos to make, thank you again for your time.
If you're interested, here's what I did so far.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/11pdyahc833hy/ck2agot_Valyrian_Steel
Just move the .dds into documents/paradox interactive/crusader kings 2/mod/a game of thrones/gfx/traits - and replace the existing files.
And move the valyrian.csv file into the same, except /mod/a game of thrones/localisation - and again, replace.
This is just a "testing the waters". I know there's a pack of pre-made sword sprites out there, but literally none of them looked the way I wanted, so all of the ones I've just given you were changed and made better to suit the names and descriptions I gave them (names and descriptions you'd otherwise have to come up with yourself).
Feedback would be awesome :) The .dds files can be open in paint.net or any other image editing programme.
2.3.2 For CK2 and 0.9.1 for the mod. And yes I have backtracked to the previous versions but it still won't load the save games. Here's a link for the save games and the error log file:

You can use SketchyCheats https://www.moddb.com/mods/sketchy-cheat-menu-updated/downloads/sketchy-cheat-menu-updated-120-agot
Right click your portrait and enable cheats. Then it’s in the intrigue menu under character spawn—sibling spawn menu.
Both? And it's fairly easy. Go to your computer then select the right hard drive where u installed CK2 on(usually C). The go Users > you >my documents > paradox interactive > Crusader Kings 2 > A game of thrones (mod folder) > save games
Copy the save files and upload them to for example wetransfer
Thanks alot!!
Edit: Mobile
replace the old files with these. Use the console command to give yourself knight, if you don't have it, and you can knight your sons.
I think lawtonis is recommending MS Excel so that the localisation file doesn't get messed up - either due to a mistake in editing, or possibly the wrong encoding if you save it using notepad. I myself use Notepad++ for modding my text files, and it works fine.
Have you considered a place that does a sort of rent to own policy? Pay a monthly fee? If anything look into a laptop sort of like >!https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N6S4SY1/ref=s9\_acss\_bw\_cg\_PCLTMC\_2a1\_w?pf\_rd\_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf\_rd\_s=merchandised-search-2&pf\_rd\_r=RWJPKYH5254S612Y9GXB&pf\_rd\_t=101&pf\_rd\_p=16fd1ce3-bb83-4ad9-831c-81f994c41e9e&a...!< within a suitable price range, you may only be able to play games like CK2 on it though, so I'd do a bit of research to see if any of the ones that seem affordable to you personally would run well with CK2 or any game really.
