As a <em>Cookie Clicker</em> player, I might be a little anxious if the no-update period reaches its 8th month.
But personally, I don't really mind. Clicker Heroes is already one of the most mechanically tight idle games I've ever come across (and has best mechanics in the 'idle clicker' sub-genre), has relatively short catch-up time on recursions and doesn't have much when it comes to narrative.
Powerbloop probably reseeds every time you click. I don't know for sure, I didn't work on that.
As to your more theoretical questions about pseudorandom number generation algorithms and seeds that result in some number never being reached, the answer is that it is absolutely possible. Many pseudorandom number generators out there are incredibly bad.
If you're very interested in randomness and the implementation of random number generators, I highly recommend Knuth's "The Art of Computer Programming, Volume 2: Seminumerical Algorithms".
This has been suggested before(along with a dungeon system where you would find these items), and the main critique to it then was the fact that this will make the game move even further away from being an "idle"-game(it's not really a classical idle game as it requires way more monitoring by the player, but it's the only genre that really fits with the game). It would, as you even point out yourself, become more of an RPG than it is now, and changing the genre of the game might scare a lot of players away, since they initially started playing an idle game, not another RPG(There are so many RPGs out there, even one with the same theme and the same developers as Clicker Heroes, it's called Cloudstone).
Basically, if the game changes too much from what players originally started playing for, they will most likely stop playing the game.
You can't control where they originally going, but you can scroll to the bottom of the hero list and click "gilded" and it will show which heroes you have gilded. You can then click on them and pay 2 hero souls to move them with a random chance to get the one you want(in this case frostleaf). Alternatively you can press ctrl when clicking and skip 2 messages, this is much simpler and saves a lot of time when moving gilds.
To find out which hero is the most effective to have gilded you can look at there over all late game hero power here.
You can see there that Frostleaf, Samurai, Brittany, Ivan, and Treebeast are the highest(In order from strongest to weakest). While Treebeast is the weakest of the top tier he is also the cheapest so it is advised to put you gilds in him early game. Although if you are infact in early game I'd advice moving all your gilds to all those heroes except Frostleaf. He is too expensive in the early game, while the others are all still cheap and very effective.
Clicker Heroes is a web-page based game, in active alpha development, hosted at http://www.clickerheroes.com/
Similar in nature to CookieClicker, ClickerHeroes features Heroes, Skills, Achievements, Ancients, Gold farming, Breaking your mouse, and other silliness.
If you like games based on exponential growth, like Tower Defense, or have played other /r/incremental_games and liked it, then give it a shot.
> You're saying I've just been incredibly lucky, right?
That's exactly what I'm saying. You got a high TTD when you rolled. It's not super likely, but considering the cap is something like 98 days, 50 days isn't unreasonable either.
>You are asking me to take, on faith, that something that is vanishingly unlikely is true.
I'm not asking you to take anything on faith. I'm saying if you're gonna ask a question, have it answered by two people, and then say that you need a backup answer from a dev, just go straight to the dev first.
Nothing has changed in the code with timelapse or mercs to make them suddenly immune to a thing that, logically, they shouldn't be immune to at all. Timelapse is a straight up 8 hour advancement of your game. Anything that could happen over the course of that 8 hours still happens.
If you don't believe me, just look through the game code throughout the version updates. It's not super hard to do, you just need access to all the versions, which should come up with a relatively simple search. For example, version 0.24 can be found here.
>Either that, or you're just a jerk.
Sorry, I get kinda pissy when someone asks a question, both myself and someone else answer it, you ask for confirmation of the answer, I give confirmation, and then you say "Well, I don't believe you, I want someone else to answer."
This is why I prefer term "incremental" to "idle". Idle is expected to run itself into infinity with little to no input from the player. Incremental on the other hand is about working for each little increment. At least for me.
Now if queueing was added there would be nothing for me to do here. I don't bother with EDR, hell, I don't even have Vaagur. Buying heroes and sometimes ancients is the only thing I do in this game and if it was taken away what would be the point in playing this?
And I disagree that queue could be compared to progression mode. Yes lack of it halted progress but it happened each zone now your progress is stopped only when you're not able to advance, that's a huge difference.
Finally I think you take this game waaay too seriously if you consider not looking at this game for few minutes, hours or even days such waste of of time. I mean you do absolutely nothing and still gain some gold to level heroes and progress.
I said it once and I will repeat if I have to. If you expect the game to do everything for you try Progress Quest. I personally quit after 15 min.
EDIT: OK, so you want "rewarding" active play instead of "required" constant attention and you add queue. What do we have now? Greatly buffed idle. But what about active play? Now you can leave it running for a week, hit level cap, when monsters have infinite health, ascend. Next run takes 3 days, next 1 day and now you have all ancients maxed out, even those without cap. This isn't balance this is broken.
You say the walls happen too often. I don't know how far are you but I don't experience this. So maybe difficulty curve should be adjusted? Giving powerful tools for players is rarely good idea to fix problems with balancing.
Also it's hard to answer to edits :P
And people of Clickerland don't downvote OP into oblivion. This is problem we have to discus and solve not forget :)
Use an existing wiki engine, even if you're using your own website. Unless you dedicate an enormous amount of time to it you cannot possibly create something more robust than the wiki making tools that have already been created.
Examples:
I just noticed that on the options menu, there is a new button called "Privacy Policy" that leads to this privacy policy. Was this button there when the update came out or was it added after it?

You can chat with your clanmates and there's a daily raid boss where you and your clanmates work together to defeat a titan. Your damage dealt to the titans (you can only click during the battle) is determined by the amount of souls you've gotten from primal bosses since joining the clan. Defeating the boss gives you a hero soul reward based on the total damage you contributed to the boss. You need to increase your raid boss's level each day to reach relevant hero soul rewards, though.
You maybe can, but it requires a lot of work. You need to install a data recovery program such as Wondershare Data Recovery, point it at the location of the flash save location and attempt to recover lost files.
Note that it's not advised for you to install the program on the same partition as the location of your save or the files might become lost. The more file operations you do from the moment you deleted your save on the HDD the higher the chance it will be unrecoverable.
I don't use Chrome so can't help you there, but look around here http://www.kongregate.com/forums/7-technical-support/topics/285054-google-chrome-21-0-save for the save location on that browser.
On Firefox, I think your save location should be here:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player#SharedObjects*random letters*
I found my Clicker Heroes save in a folder called d1snsxh2hr65cz.cloudfront.net (if you play on Clicker Heroes webpage) or chat.kongregate.com if you're playing on Kongregate
The free version of the program I mentioned should suffice for recovering small files such as your flash player saves.
According to this, that'd be worse than putting them on Brittany, the other hero you have a lot of gilds on.
So no, just put all that shit on Samurai.
Either way you're too early to regild a single hero, wait until you can get to 500+ in less than an hour.

It's not that they don't get bonus at lvl 1000, they do get it. It's just they suck at dps. Cid only helps your early clicking, so you don't have to level him over 150. Midas, Betty and Amenhotep are great due to upgrades they give, but after you get all their upgrades (except ascension obviously, that's the last one you can buy), their usefulness ends.
Now there are several good threads about hero efficiency, so here are few

In comment you have a list of how the heroes compare to Treebeast (without any1 being gilded) for spent same amount of gold (approximately).
Higher the number, stronger the hero, so any 1+ is good to have gilded.
Clicker Heroes' art is taken from the flash-based, browser-MMO Cloudstone, made by the same folks. Superficially, there are some similarities, but that is because they both use a forced perspective, isometric, grid based structure for the map and an anime inspired, superflat, superdeformed art scheme for the characters and monsters.
You can play it here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/playsaurus/cloudstone
It is actually pretty worth your time, so long as you can stomach some grinding and some time gates. I think I killed about 50 hours with my monk when I played before moving on.
Here you go:

Sorry about 4shared, but mega is failing to upload anything right now.
This version has the encrypt from file, and every result gets automatically copied to your clipboard.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160113143821/http://www.clickerheroes.com/ is the link for 0.24. You simply hit the link that says "X captures" at the top (where X is a number) and pick a date that falls within whatever patch you want to play.
Can't seem to get it to work for a lot of 'em but in theory that's all you have to do.
v0.16: http://web.archive.org/web/20141028024551/http://www.clickerheroes.com/
I believe the oldest playable version is v0.12, you can adjust the date on that site, or in the URL (here 2014/10/28). You'll need to play it in a different browser though, because older versions can't read new saves and the game won't load.
There's a way around that: save your game (export) and hard reset on the current version, then immediately close the tab. Then open up the older version and it should load. But I'd strongly recommend playing in a different browser if you plan on playing the current version as well.
>is MAX 'fixed' / increased to much more than 9999 - in the alpha builds?
Yes, on the beta Q works as intended and will dump everything in Morg. Just import your save here, do your thing and export it to play on the live version again.

Does this mean I should hit the X on my browser or that I should keep it in a back tab? I'm using the http://www.clickerheroes.com/ version.
these are the ones i've found that gave the most useful things all though i scraped them for pure 4% primals instead
If you're looking to get a good understanding of arbitrary precision arithmetic or very large number implementations, I'd encourage you not to look at the implementation in Clicker Heroes, because it is objectively bad for most use cases.
If you have a decent CS and math background and are very interested in the subject, I highly recommend "The Art of Computer Programming Volume 2: Seminumerical Algorithms" by Knuth. Roughly half the book is dedicated to arithmetic, with the other half covering pseudorandom sequence generation and analysis, and Knuth is always a pleasure to read.
If, on the other hand, you are only interested in specifically how Clicker Heroes is functioning... well, it's not pretty.
Well, I can see how it might be frustrating if you're reading it on a deadline or because someone is trying to make you. It's slow and difficult, but that's because it's detailed and thorough.
The Art of Computer Programming is best read at your leisure, in a quiet and comfortable room with a nice cup of coffee/tea or a glass of wine.
Heros get a 4x boost every 25 levels after level 200, and a 10x boost every 1000 levels up to 4100. So after you get Frostleaf to 75, your next big jump in damage would be a 1000 Treebeast. Here's the list for hero efficiency (Gold to DPS) below. Sam is the most efficient, but he costs a lot to get to 1000 compared to the first three. Of course you don't just stop at 1000, but continue raising them by increments of x25.
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
Nice for trial and error, but would be handier if it suggested which guilds you oughta remove first. I saw(~~and lost~~found) a list of adjusted hero DPS that implied which ones you should aim to guild, and (implicitly) the ones to deguild. There's gotta be a way to work in the array to guide the tests, if not the pain of an outright numerical simulator.
ed For example, it's almost always recommended to automatically deguild betty, midas, and amen once you're able to get 10+ souls in under an hour. Conversely, it's almost never worth shifting guilds away from the first 3 (TIB), frostleaf, samurai, or forest. Not only is it 'relatively fine' to leave them alone, but the extra 'hops' you'd need to reach a shorter, more biased list would likely exceed the HS damage lost from the invesment. However, as your guilds/hour grows, the opportunity cost of repetitive reguilding diminishes towards zero, making it increasingly economical to 'force' the de/guilds onto smaller and smaller lists of bottom/top ranking heroes.
The easiest temp patch I can think of (as a fellow Cody') is a coloring system where the label for each hero is color-coded to the relative $/dps ratio based on the link I posted (eg 'good' heros are green, 'useless' are red, or even gradients). Even if the top 7 and are green, bottom 7 are red, and the rest plain, it'd still put you orders of magnitude closer to the 'optimal' solution, compared to ignoring the reguild feature entirely. This could later be extended with a way to gradually expand the list of 'red' heroes, and shrink the list of 'greens', as your power increases and the costs of forcing guilds from the red group to the green one diminishes.
Here is the list of relative strength for each hero in relation to Treebeast:
Treebeast: 1
Ivan: 1.15
Brittany: 1.22
Fisherman: 0.51
Betty: 0.07
Samurai: 1.32
Leon: 0.49
Forest: 1.15
Alexa: 0.26
Natalia: 0.88
Mercedes: 0.74
Bobby: 0.59
Broyle: 0.22
George: 0.47
Midas: 0.02
Referi: 0.53
Abaddon: 0.32
Ma Zhu: 0.59
Amenhotep: 0.03
Beastlord: 0.28
Athena: 0.73
Aphrodite: 0.99
Shinatobe: 0.68
Grant: 0.65
Frostleaf: 1.34
So early on (when its reasonable to reguild, obviously dont reguild if you only have 10HS) youll probably just spend regilds on getting rid of midas, betty, broyle, amenhotep, beastlord, etc. All of the <0.30 Heros. You'll slowly want to move up your criteria for gilds to <0.99 so that you'll eventually aim for Treebeast, Ivan, Brittany, Samurai, Seer, Aphrodite, and Frostleaf since they have the highest Values.
Later on you'll a hero here and there to just end up with Samurai and/or frostleaf.
And way later (frostleaf >3000) you'll just be frostleaf
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
The masked samurai is the best early, lategame will be frostleaf.
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
As it is now you should just farm hero souls... :)
Why do people use Samurai over any of the other 20x heroes?
Edit: Nevermind, did some searching and found this post.
Ivan and Forest Seer are both better gilds than Tree. Brittany is better than all three of those. Proof.
Tree 1:1.15 Ivan
Tree 1:1.15 Seer
Tree 1:1.22 Brittany
Tree 1:1.32 Samurai
Tree 1:1.34 Frostleaf
There should be a way to make regilding faster, I agree. It takes tons of time just because every new regilding asks for confirmation and then makes a big deal out of the gild you got. While I understand that not many people have tons of gilds for it to be much of a hassle, very-late-game (and Kong players that bought some) players can easily rack up dozens of gilds. Since it's proven that some heroes are better gilded than others, it's likely that those with the souls to pay for them should have some way to do it more easily than being constricted by the animations.
Maybe some option to turn off confirmations, and have the new gildings show like small push notifications instead of having to open up the epic Cloudstone chest every time we regild?
(By the way, Jarvin8, I hate to tell this to you, but The Wandering Fisherman isn't a very good hero to gild)
nice XD
btw, you can get rid of that Windows 10 reminder icon in your taskbar tray :)

This converts the exported text into something called json, and the json back into jumbled text. json is just a simplistic way to store data in a form that's easily readable for humans. It's pretty easy to figure out what variable does what for the most part.
You can also format it so that it's even easier to read with this: http://jsonformatter.curiousconcept.com/
I mean, it's the same character that I used for that build but I'm just constantly tweaking stuff after testing out what parts are working out and what part does nothing. Like I went flurry for that build because I thought 1200 hits could be nice sometimes but I never got good use out of it so I dumped it. This is how I finished 5th gild (lvl 999)
Biggest problem from my old build was that chronos and all that was just lagging me out as you can see in the video. In that gild the lag started the moment I picked up killing frenzy so right now I just don't pick it up because of the lag.
The damage from latest version is just insane vs old one. 169,406% huge click damage in old vs 14,693,679% HC in new. I skipped critstorm in that build as well, because it's a lot eaiser to just have the "clickstorm not active" stone on clickstorm but with some automation tabs I could get critstorm to like 95% uptime which is definitely worth it. Without killing frenzy it is a bit slower though, but overall the damage and speed for progression is way better.
Believe it or not, it's a pretty common word: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=thrice%2C+twice&year_start=1800&year_end=2000&corpus=15&smoothing=3&share=&direct_url=t1%3B%2Cthrice%3B%2Cc0%3B.t1%3B%2Ctwice%3B%2Cc0
Used about 1/4th as often as twice in literature.
It does work. When I tried, I loaded at random version 0.23
Well, I went ahead and found version 0.26b for you:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160504065009/http://www.clickerheroes.com/
Works well.
Of course, clans might not work anymore, but they weren't important for anything in version 0.26b anyways.
I am not sure if you know this, but we already can buy random relics. When you spend 40 Rubies, you get 3 random relics. So I don't think they will add this.
However, cause of how late you got on here, you probably don't know this, but on the Test Server there is a beta going on that lets you upgrade relics with forge cores. You only increase the stats the relics currently have, so you can't use them to add new stats to the relic.
Another feature is Mercenaries that let you do quests for rewards. You can find information on the Quests here.
http://www.clickerheroes.com/test2/ First one I found that is different from the normal this page doesnt exist. Probably a previous test page or something.
Ill edit the post if I actualy find something. Im really curious about this now. Ok, apparently searching is really boring for me, I got too bored at 22. Nothing else up to that point.
Yes, you can.
http://web.archive.org/web/20141028024551/http://www.clickerheroes.com/ v0.16 for example. By messing with the date in the URL (in this case 2014/10/28) you can play any version you want, but I think anything prior to v0.12 isn't playable because stuff has been deleted or whatever.
Also be aware that the game will try to load your current save, and that won't work. You need to export your save, hard reset and immediately close the game so that it doesn't have time to save, and then open the previous version and it should load.
If you maximize it it will eat up more your computer resources though, slowing down your performance.
But you can do it by opening a source code of the page with the game: http://www.clickerheroes.com/
And getting the link out of there with a fresh version. Currently it's: https://d1snsxh2hr65cz.cloudfront.net/ClickerHeroes_v4362.swf
Open that file in your browser and it might go full-screen.
"Z" buys x1000, and "Q" buys x10000, but in the 1.20 beta version, "Q" dumps all your souls into Morg. So if you need to make a dump into Morg you can export your save into http://www.clickerheroes.com/test510/ and export back to the regular version when you're done.
The beta servers are open for everyone who can play in a browser: http://www.clickerheroes.com/test510/
Also check this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClickerHeroes/comments/3cn8n3/help_test_clans/
What happens if you disable Steam Overlay for this game? Do you still get steam purchase authorization window?
The ultimate solution is, of course, is to use Web Version of the game at http://www.clickerheroes.com/
(Simply export and re-import your save file into the Web Client, and you good to go.)
just tested it out - armor games does not have ruby capability yet - I've gotten 2 rubies on http://www.clickerheroes.com/ - i saved the game and loaded it into the armor games website and my 2 rubies disappeared. not sure how long that will last though
Legend on the right. And no, the only site that "translates" a save file only shows ancient levels and soul-related stuff. Just put your save on pastebin and link it or something.
This game might be the right think for you:
It is the non plus ultra in the genre of 'idle' games and features full automation.
It is older and the graphics are minimal but the automated progression is top.
I don't see this discussed around here much, so I don't know how many people are aware of this type of software, I thought I'd share. I use PowerMenu, which gives you the ability to keep (most) windows on top of others. I use this for Clicker Heroes to keep an eye on when I need to level up/ascend while still doing other things.
It can be used for many other games as well, as well as another window of your web browser. Useful to watch videos while browsing or to keep tabs on chat windows, or really anything else that updates periodically.
edit: I should also mention you can make the window semi-transparent, though I personally don't use that feature.
My best advice would be to go online and look some kind of tutorial.
I had some programming courses on the university, not web, and i learnt the basics there.
Microsoft tutorials are really really good, i would advice reading and doing the MVC one they have (http://www.asp.net/mvc/overview/getting-started/introduction/getting-started) .
Best advice is just to get hands on first try to show a msg on a page, then i dunno, a textbox with a button, and so on.
>Is there a better way to measure clicks registered against a Raid Boss?
I'm not sure, but I do know, that on Stream autoclickers tend to lag in general, and on the official Web version there's a limit of 40 cps in the game. And for Raid Bosses it should register there all 40 clicks, depending on your browser and PC perfromance. At least it's true for this autocliker I've been using: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastclicker/
I don't know for sure about Powerbloop, but in the game itself, if you're instakilling enemies, some clicks won't register (you can notice it by your Juggernaut combo).
Would recommend that you restart by picking the release here. Unzip that, start the bot to generate the settings files, then do your changes with a decent text editor.

You can find the Clicker Heroes mobile patch notes on the google playstore
The 2-3 updates after release were minor fixes to hero leveling for the new heroes. An update to fix a problem with the previous build that was keeping players from opening the game. Then a patch to revert changes to timelapse temporarily while we figure out a problem with mpz calculation and offline progress.
What you can easily restrict is the Background Data - i.e. it will stop CH from prefetching ads while it is not in the foreground. However due to the gameplay, you keep it in the foreground for long periods of time, and then the background data restriction will not apply.
I use AFWall+ on my rooted phone, allowing me to completely disconnect CH from mobile data. Unfortunately this also restricts the clan feature, of course.
The new version is out that was developed by R2 games and Playsaurus.

Haha, that is one option, but I also found this game http://bloodrizer.ru/games/kittens/# and also this one http://www.kongregate.com/games/hyperhippogames/adventure-capitalist that I will give a try to see if they are as addictive as CH.
Nah, I can't into math. Perhaps this could explain things, I'm not sure, haven't checked that thread since the new heroes were introduced.
Samurai must be in a sweet spot where he hits his x10 multipliers at the perfect time or something. Also heroes get a damage penalty the lower down the list they are, so in terms of base damage per unit of gold, Treebeast is the best and Astraea the worst. So while it'd make sense that earlier heroes are better as long as they haven't reached their 4100 cap, DPS increases by ~x4 every 25 levels but cost by ~x5.4, so there's a point where a hero with a LOT of x4 multipliers will become less efficient than a hero with very few multipliers, just because the first hero will be at a much higher level.
That's the reason why the rangers are better between 1000 and 1500, after 1500 their level is just too high, and before 1000 they don't have enough x4 multipliers.
Thankfully it's a toggle. I find dark themes work best if you're in the dark, and light themes when everything else is also bright. I also use the f.lux to reduce the levels of blue light on my computer's display. Maybe it'll help you, too. :]
You can of course use the save editor to "hack" what you had into a new game, but if you don't wanna do that, this might motivate you (keep in mind it was before the new heroes or even food was implemented): http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/435897-hard-reset-diary-of-how-quickly-you-regain-souls-after-restart
An informative post on Kongregate forums explaining late game hero leveling/power.
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
There you can see that some hero are more worth to level than other heroes. As you noticed Betty is pretty inefficient, but Samurai is the next most efficient. My recommendation would be to degild everything into Britanny and Samurai, and keep leveling only those two Heroes, till you can hit zone 800. Then its time to degild everything into Samurai, and only playing with Samurai till you can hit zone 1000-1100. The next Hero to gild into would be Terra and so on.
This: http://i59.tinypic.com/qzr794.png
is taken from here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/433518-ambroses-tutorial-with-pictures-links-and-more#fn9
I don't understand how you don't have that button, but there might be some reasonable explanation. First, you didn't notice it, and you never tried to hit 'a' on keyboard to activate it. Second, you never ever refreshed your game tab since version 0.7 or so (maybe 0.11?). Both of these are highly unlikely, so perhaps report it as a bug, once you eliminate all options (not only the ones i suggested).
At the point when you are ready to put gilds into a single hero, is the point when you're ready to put them in Samurai, being the best early hero: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
I think it's good to switch gilds when you can make about 1k or more souls per run, since that way you won't hurt too much from losing souls. Regilding will take probably about 2k (with ctrl click hopefully) to 3k (with shift click), depending on your number of gilds, and on your luck (if you opt for ctrl click).
You can try to do some early regilding, without the intention of getting gilds anywhere specific, but rather to move them from useless heroes, like Betty, Midas and Amenhotep. If that manages to somehow place few gilds on Samurai, it might help you some.
I might be over thinking now, but what does that say about lists like this.
That list states Samurai: 1.32 and Aphrodite: 0.99. Isn't Aphrodite much stronger than Samurai. If one could afford to level up Aphrodite, but not the heroes below her, wouldn't it be best to gild her over Samurai? But, as other have just said, is it more a function which hero gives the most DPS per Unit Gold?
I agree to that, although I think you should get Atman&Solomon before Dora&Mimzee. Maybe that one helps: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/433653-comparison-between-gold-increasing-ancients-patch-0-12 Thats from patch 0.12 but I don't think gold anchients got changed since then.
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power thats a link where someone showed the value of each hero compared to Treebeast for Late Game, Frostleaf is Rank 1 then Samurai
Ok, see, I don't think that's what is going on here, or perhaps I'm wrong about my understanding of this analysis. The analysis only applies when both Samurai and Frostleaf are at levels below 4000 since he uses a continuum approximation of the x4 and x10 bonuses, and, according to his math, in that regime, Frostleaf is still slightly better than Samurai (1.34>1.32). However, it appears from the community, that this result (which is of course a contiuum approximation) doesn't actually hold true in practice, and people seem to prefer Samurai until, presumably, the cap approaches (I'm not quite there yet, Samurai ~lv3200, 132x gilded).
Do you see what I'm saying?
If this is the case, it may be that Frostleaf wins only because of the cap, and that if removed, Samurai would be ideal at all regimes?
I'm going to guess you're making about 1000 HS per run. Move all your gilds to Samurai for now and only level him to progress through the zones (make sure to grab everyone's abilities though). When you can get Frostleaf to level 3000+ you will want to move all your gilds to him.
You don't have to move all the gilds at once. Just move some every ascension and eventually your Samurai will be pimped out. Reasoning behind gilding Samurai.
The de-gilding pocess is random, so you have to keep trying until you get the gild you want.
This post should clarify why Samurai is recommended for that stage of the game.
I like how I'm going to go over the bits I didn't explain in much detail. Good on you to ask.
First thing I want to touch, is that fast runs (about an hour) are generally more efficient for farming HS than long, long runs. The main purpose of long runs is to get more gilds and acheivements, which helps your DPS, along with being particularly useful when starting out to get you a nice chunk of HS to work with. But so long as you have the time to tab in and level up your heroes every x minutes, quick ascensions are the way to go.
For your gilding, you won't (shouldn't) be using Seer or Frostleaf for now, other than to grab their abilities like everyone else (I personally level everyone to 201 at some point), so you'll want to get those gilds into the 4 you'll be using. BUT, you don't have that many gilds, so definitively don't do it all at once, just move some gilds every time you ascend so you don't blow too much HS at once doing so. And no, the fastest way is to ctrl+click de-guild randomly. The previous method was much more tedious, so no complaining!
As for transitioning to Samurai, I gave you a general point. In time, you'll notice you're getting a nice amount of HS every run, and that the price of de-guilding is basically nothing to you. Around this time you'll want to consider moving your gilds to Samurai and just dumping all your gold into him to progress. The next step, the one I'm going for, is being able to get Frostleaf to level 3000+, at which point the gilds are best on him. You'll know what you're doing by the time you get there.
Edit: A little extra. This data is considered cannon, and justifies the strategy I employ.
Edit 2: I'll go ahead and throw you this link as well. Also cannon, even thought you don't really need it at this point.
Its good to hear you've made progress, first let me answer an old question of yours; The new patch lets us see how long we've been playing in the stats tab, so now I can tell you: Its been 20 days. I'm currendly on zone 1250+ and have 36k+ HS for when I Ascend. I paid a fair amount of attention to the game, and in return I was fairly efficient in my growth.
As for your new question, I would recommend sticking to the first three. Once you're bringing in 10k HS or so every run, de-gilding stops having a cost, really. That's when you'll want to bring all your gilds onto Samurai and the process of x25 leveling your heroes becomes the process of holding Ctrl and dumping everything into Samurai. Personally I did the switch late (I was bringing in over 20k at the time, but de-gilding was a long, tiring process), but with the new de-gilding mechanic you can definitively consider doing it earlier than 10k HS per run, do it when you think you can comfortably level Samurai to the 1000s AND the cost of moving all your gilds to him doesn't kill you.
Edit for clarity: You want to keep x25ing your heroes until the run gets slow or too slow (>2 and >5 seconds to kill regular monster, respectively) at which point you'll want to ascend.
As for gilding other heroes, for now I wouldn't recommend it (data). Like I said I'm in the all-in Samurai stage, and now I'm looking for the point where I can comfortably level Frostleaf to 3000+, at which point I'll think about switching all my gilds to him, and do the same I do with Samurai right now.
In the list of heroes yes, but Samurai is actually more cost efficient than Seer, and that's what I meant with ascending order. Check this list, its currently the main reference used to determine which heroes to gild: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
As you can see, Frostleaf > Samurai > Brittany > Seer > Ivan > Treebeast. But considering your state in the game is important: early on you'll want to focus on Treebeast, Ivan and Brittany, eventually transition into Samurai, and late game (when you can get Frostleaf to level 3000) you will want all your guilds on Frostleaf.
>Even then, the calculator is the most efficient path from unlocking all the skills to reaching 4000 on all your heroes, so it would still be useful.
No, it's not, at least not for reaching level 4000. Even accounting for other heroes having a larger DPS percentage boost from upgrades, Frostleaf is still the most efficient cost-to-DPS (source). (Edit: also, you wouldn't want to level all your heroes up to 4000, that would be horribly inefficient. You'd only want to spend your gold on the most cost efficient hero, Frostleaf.)
>And even then, when it no longer gives the 4x multiplier, it will become more efficient to level other heroes because the cost of frostleaf will increase until it's better to level the second most effective hero you have.
Sorry, but this is completely wrong, you're misunderstanding how it works in the lategame. Once you hit the hero level caps where the 4x and 10x multipliers stop, Frostleaf is the only hero worth leveling since his base DPS is so much higher than previous heroes'. It's pointless leveling up other heroes at that point. You'd have to spend something like a 1000 times more gold on the next highest hero to achieve the same DPS increase, that's just not efficient at all.
Of course this is all assuming you don't have all your gilds in a different hero, but by that point in the game, Frostleaf should have all the gilds, since he's the only one you'd be leveling up anyway.
I didn't go into all this detail in my original comment because I thought all of this was common knowledge, not necessarily for everyone playing the game (admittedly, the math can be confusing) but at least for anyone that browses this sub. But I apologize, that was my mistake in making that assumption.
You're implicitly assuming 4x GPS = 2x DPS, which isn't the case. 2x DPS also has the side-effect of gaining 2x GPS, but 5.4x GPS also has the side-effect of gaining 4.1x DPS. To be even with a Siyalatas bonus of 300%, Libertas has to be at 450%, which is much less than your stated 1500%.
Again, I agree there is a disparity between the two. My argument is that it's much less than you realize.
Roll Betty Clicker, and Amenhotep for sure. They're the worst heroes for get a gild.
Try to get Treebeast,Ivan and Brittany.
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
Yes, max Vaagur for dark ritual spam / most burst for bosses.
The math behind gilded heroes is here: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/430911-late-game-hero-power
Dogcogs multiplier is technically very low. At max level, Dogcog allows your heroes to be 10 lvls above what they would be otherwise. This is great for early game, not so much late game. An ancients optimizer can be found here: http://repl.it/Z8b
Kumawaka depends on your playstyle. If you like to rush to your wall and then ascend, then he is useful. This type of playstyle is more profitable for the more casual players. However, if you are active often and using dark ritual several times a day, its more profitable to keep going into the late game and only ascend once you have a lot of souls banked, in which case, your cooldown timers and gold gain will become your speed limiters and Kuma is not useful.
Somehow, people don't notice that Forest Seer is as good as Ivan, and better than Treebeast. Still the best is lumping them all in Samurai/Frostleaf. Math.
If you want to save souls by spreading them out these are the best heroes http://puu.sh/bIY95/c4e0d6153b.png

The synergy between Mimzee and Dora seems incredibly strong. Get a level 10 Mimzee and Dora (a 54 soul investment for each) and they are already giving +500% gold from treasure chests and +200% treasure chest spawn.
Given the article linked regarding Fortuna and Dogcog (here), Mimzee gives +3.5% and Dora gives +1.3% gold overall without the synergy.
With the synergy, this brings Mimzee up to about +10.5% and Dora up to about (0.0225 * 60) + (0.9775 * 1) = 2.3275x gold, for 20 levels of investment. This is +132.75% / 20 = +6.6375% per level - way better than Mammon. Since the lower levels are cheaper, and this scales better as both get even higher, it's a win-win, other than the two ancient slots.
I did a comparison here on how the easily-compared ancients affect gold (though it's pretty sloppy formatting). Dora, on average, nets you about 1% more gold per level- which is actually pretty decent, but then again, most of the ancients are decent.
Dora definitely belongs in Low, but maybe she should be higher up within the tier?
That is Kongregate's Kreds (virtual coins) system. With them, you can purchase power ups or virtual items (in Clicker Heroes, you get 3 random guilded heroes). The developers of the game can then exchange the Kreds to real currency - so it is a form of income for them (as well as ad revenue).
for the 1000th time, you can't stack energize, in fact, you can't stack any spell, stop saying bullshit!
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/2737-clicker-heroes/topics/428565-energize-explanation-and-more
Well you could at least try it out, without saving your game in a file. This way you can have an experimental run and find it out. Dont forget to use this hero calc: http://jsfiddle.net/tvvvbhfg/embedded/result/
It is doing wonders at your levels.
http://jsfiddle.net/s00kfacd/5/embedded/result/
Put how many souls you want (start with 6, then after doing that try 7 and see how long it will take), and it will tell you which heroes to level, so you spend as little gold as possible.
You don't have to paste your save, but if you don't then it won't know what levels you already have.
That was my thought so I tried it on this site too: http://jsfiddle.net/noopic/L2g9e1nj/10/
This is using a hard reset game save file from Clicker Heroes site. It would help if someone else decoded theirs and searched for the name field.
I remember a nethack-/roguelike named "Moria" where you got money "worth of copper/silver/gold/emeralds". The more money you found, the more valuable "worth of" stuff was.
I won't use trash items that could and because they have to be sold to get your money.
Simply have sea shells where 1000 are worth 1 copper piece, 1000 copper pieces 1 silver piece and so on. Each currency item may drop splitted in stacks of a single item(coin), up to 10, up to 100 and up to 1000 items.
Check my formulas, but I believe I did this right... currently power would be stronger overall until you invest around 67 points into precision. Crit damage does start to pull further away after 100% crit chance. Speed is crap.
I did not mean 1.25^80 * 2, I meant 1.25^80*2 , or alternatively, 1.25^80 * 1.25^80 . You confirm this by saying "1.2^2 damage.. so 1.44" .
Focusing purely on precision post 100% Crit Chance is strictly better damage than Power.
This is because the degree of growth on crit damage is higher than the degree of growth with power.
1.44 compared to 1.2 is an absolutely massive difference, and keep in mind that the previous multipliers will stack.
Compare 1.44^20 to 1.2^20.
1.44^20 = 1469
1.2^20 = 38
^^note ^^that ^^1.2^20 ^^= ^^1.44^10
It adds up extremely quickly.
Even moreso, it is not a cyclical power curve between power and crit. Crit post 100% will always be better than power.
Anyways, I did make a graph representing different power curves in your mod.
https://www.quora.com/Is-there-an-iOS-emulator-for-Windows-similar-to-BlueStacks-for-Android
assuming i'm allowed to post outside links here :) you can use that instead of bluestacks for IOS it sounds like. Basically an emulator you run on your PC to play apps outside your phone. i'm curious if it works, let me know if you try it, i'm thinking about switching from galaxy s4 to IPhone 6s+ here in a month or 2. will have to do some time warping to get my progress back since as far as i can tell i won't be able to swap my save from android -> iOS
This is hopefully a link to a downloadable .exe file.
Always be careful when downloading .exe files from unknown sources. I'm not a computer security expert so I can't guarantee safety, you download it on your own risk. Edit: it's written in C# so you need .NET installed (it should be on all computers running Windows).
If you do download it and happen to find any values that contradict the formula, please do tell. While only an approximation, I want it to be as good as possible.
I actually tested this,
But during my gild I just saw that my clicktorrent was running out energy over and over again and had no idea why, after checking the tree like 3 times over I found out that I had missed the 2x reload nodes next to synchrony so I had to pick those up as well.
Looking at your build just now, it's actually less points to just go down from top left to bottom left than branching out from center to bottom left. So now everything has to go back to the drawing board.
With the "stealth" huge click nerf, 195% huge click nodes are actually just plain old 200% damage nodes now. Which is still the strongest node in the entire tree, but not spend 6 points to get one 195% node good. To make up for that I'm planning to go more in the gift of chronos/autoattackstorm direction. The build already has the reload nodes so change a handful of nodes around to the +100 mana and with that I've gotten +400% haste from gift of chronos at it's peak. I have no idea how much mana would be optimal for it so for now I just took them all to try it out and it's pretty solid,
Cool build, I'm going to try it out now as I just started after my 2nd Gild.
Thanks for sharing!
Can you also share your modified 199 build? a quick guess would be something like :
https://tinyurl.com/y8hptwhb (Assuming no need for stones / speed nodes)
I haven't tested the numbers yet so not sure if that's the ideal changes.
First, thanks for reading the comments and replying!
Second, what I'd love to see personally, is more communication, more, let say "transparency" regarding the game development. I don't expect 2500-4000 or more words( small novels) like the Factorio FFF, but every week a couple of paragraphs detailing of what kind of work the developer teams had done, what challenges they overcame , what looked good on the design table but was actually awful when implemented in the game thus needed some changes would be fantastic, and (at least I think) really appreciated by this community.
For example,in your reply, the second paragraph already gave us some insight on what is going on i the development, which is good start,if I can say such thing.
https://gyazo.com/8dace932db1091cf5645436c81d6287a Sorry for using gyazo for this. You have to pretty much to set up this macro in program Razer Synapse (You can delete the delay, but i keep it on because it clicks so fast sometimes that my pc lags out lol), and then go to Mouse tab, and assign the macro to one of the mouse buttons. Works well and is really confy. Also be sure to choose the Toggle on/off macro when assigning it to the key.
The only solution for your particular case that I can recommend, is this: https://autohotkey.com/
Find guides for AHK over the internet, if you never used it before. (I won't be helping you with that.)
Create your own script that auto-closes that allow/deny window the instant it appears on screen.
And yes, just like Asminthe said, don't forget to manually save all the time, since auto-save feature will be failing at times when the save file is bigger than the one you allowed it to have.
I think its the best. You can easy start and stop the autoclicking with F8. Even where your mouse is, on a hero upgrade button or everything you want ;)
Not able to restore game by logging on.
I signed up on the http://www.clickerheroes.com/ website, have a logon with user/pass. When I close the browser and come back to Logon it gives me an overlay screen that says to "...refresh the page..." to reload my progress. If I do hit F5 (refresh browser tab) it takes me back to a blank game zero'd out and I need to logon again.
Work around I've found so far With the overlay screen showing (says to refresh screen) I can see that some of my game data has been retrieved. I go over to the Tools button, then hit Save to file. Then when I hit Refresh and it takes me back to a new/blank game I can then use that save to restore progress into a playable form. (without the overlay)
Win7 Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit)
>I have the feeling it wouldn't be the smartest move to click allow.
It's just the game requesting more space for its saves which became a lot bigger nowadays.
If you're not sure, just open the ClickerHeroes.com site, and take a look at the page's source code (any web browser has such an option), and then find there the link to the game's swf file, which would be a path that begins from that same address that asks you to allow using more space.
Firstly, make sure your Firefox is up to date, and that Adobe Flash is up to date: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Secondly, go into the game settings, and save manually into a file.
Then import that save info into the game on the official game site:
That's where you should play the game, really. The link is from the sidebar of this subreddit.
Maybe that will fix your game. (Also, ascending might fix it, but save into a file just in case, prior to trying that).
Well, firstly update the script to the most recent verison, if you are using some older version.
Secondly, right above the downloading link it says:
>The script mainly can work only with the official web version: http://www.clickerheroes.com/
And in FAQ section, linked in the main post it also says:
>Steam version is known to have problems with the script
You can import saves between web and steam versions, manually from the settings menu in the game, so it's not a problem.
Btw, you do need to make manual backups, since their cloud saving system is very unreliable, and people keep losing their saves occasionally. So make separate files with manual save backups from time to time. :)
