…that would be… epic and also a ton of work lol im gonna add it to my to-do list! (Im working on short circuit rn, and i’d like to complete discovery in its entirety.)
Also if you have Nanoleaf panels, i added this programming so you can play it back on your setup using this app called “LightLink.”
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
Got everything from Amazon (.ca). Frames: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00I5JQ2F0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_sKA3vicA6lCQv
All in all, total came to about $450CAD after tax and with Amazon prime.
Edit: I should clarify that price was for all 5 albums and the frames.
Those little Interstella shorts they used to show on Toonami was my first exposure but i didn't really actively listen to them until this submission hit the top of the newgrounds portal in 2005. That flash was passed around to my friends and inspired all of them in a small way. They all liked Daft Punk now and one of them even took up flash animation as a result.
I took them all to Alive 2007 a couple years later :D
Amazon!
RAM was from FNAC. Discovery (Japan Import) and Interstella 5555 were from Amazon. Here is a link :)
lol well if thats the case, it doesn’t really take a crazy setup to make this happen… really all you need to have this in your own room:
a Nanoleaf kit ($179 - $200 or so) https://www.gamestop.com/electronics/smart-home-automation/smart-home/products/nanoleaf-canvas-smarter-kit-9-pack/227734.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwNWKBhDAARIsAJ8HkhfBaCocOLhsHiMx8piXw9Wb0t2Z9Uc-VrG6583KXBNBxoOrqkuJ8p0aAtxLEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
this app ($3/mo) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
and you can 🤖 🪨 to your hearts content. granted, i do have like 30 panels or so up, but that’s not necessary. The programming scales to a setup of any size and it still looks cool. You could definitely run this on a standard 9 panel kit.
I am pretty sure he claimed in an interview that it was the robots who kind of reassured him he is able to create music as an artist instead of only writing music after the (financial?) failure his other solo album was or something and something about the guys from Columbia (SME)...
EDIT: Found a snippet
Just in case anyone is interested, the game is called Beat Racer. The visual style is very Tron and soundtrack is pretty cool too.
Title might be a little misleading, it not much of a racing game. It plays more like a runner/rhythm game. Still nice.
For the lazy, Also apparently the printable is supposed to show up here but I can't find it yet
yeah sorry the "scrolling marquee" got it :) only $12 is awesome. would be a lot more where I am from. Great stuff though! I love the way you stretched the lens. That is the trickiest part I think.
I made a Tron costume a few years ago and that was a lot of fun. https://imgur.com/a/eQ1Kp#0
Yeah, I definitely see the differences between the samples as well and it seems to sound like they put the vocals through the vocoder again. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the breadth?
For everyone who might be wondering here is a little comparison of the original and live performance audio clips: https://clyp.it/llqz51n1
The first two segments are the Around the World samples (the first one is pitch shifted to match the key of Get Lucky). The third segment is just the original tracks put together to recreate the Grammys performance, and then you can hear the Grammys performance at the end too.
I made an app that allows me to create custom lightshows for songs! If you have some Nanoleaf panels, you can play this back on your setup pretty easily. This is what youd need:
1.) Nanoleaf Panels
2.) Wifi (non 5g)
3.) Android or Chrome device
4.) Spotify premium
5.) App -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
Sorry, it's the movie. I got it from Amazon here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000DBK9X/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_w9Foyb8A9X857
My copy brand new was $14.87. Comparing this to the eBay listings I have seen looks like I got it for a very good price.
Full record (The music that i found close to le knight club start at 8:35. But, i could be wrong, the scene with Mike Tyson start at 18:26 (in a club) and the last music in a club is more a background one, at 49:06 ) : https://clyp.it/z1cxw0o5
This is probably the highest quality available (for RAM) - http://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/album/random-access-memories-edition-studio-masters-daft-punk/0886443927087
Original 'Studio Masters' in 24bit-88.2KHz
My friend bought this edition, I got a normal CD, they sound identical to me.
All other albums, I'm not aware of anything beyond standard CD quality, except discovery, where there are 5.1 versions available from Interstellar 5555.
I was really disappointed when I found out how little of Robot Rock was actually Daft Punk's. Here's the whosampled for the song. They basically just looped the original song's intro for the entire song.
Woah, I think a lot of people were way off on some of the lyrics.
"I don't believe it and it slips on the ground"
and
"You use me once and..." something? A lot different than 'He asked me once if I'd look in on his dog"
Where did the first image come from?
Please don't say Spider-Man(2002), obviously I mean the Pyramid.
Edit: nvm, I should have googled.
https://www.amazon.com/Azza-CSAZ-804V-Pyramid-Innovative-Black/dp/B084HNPHF9
There is a alive box set with both 97 and 07 on vinyl plus a really nice book and limited edition white vinyl. Not that limited though since still readily available on Amazon: Alive 1997 + Alive 2007 (Boxset)(4LP Colored Vinyl w/Digital Download) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PCGY9OU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.ZM-Cb5H2TVJS
Sorry to burst your bubble but it is a well-documented fake. Discogs believes it is as well https://www.discogs.com/NERD-She-Wants-To-Move-Daft-Punk-Remixes/release/266516
Still some quality tunes though.
Not well at all. I wore my Thomas helmet to PAX East last year. Everything is difficult from seeing, walking around, hearing and breathing. I felt like I was dying of heat stroke a few hours into the first day. I've yet to start my Guy-Man helmet but I'd imagine he has MUCH more visibility than Thomas does.
Edit: This is also partly why they ditched the LEDs from the Discovery era. It made the cramped helmets even more cramped, heavier and even further reduced visibility.
Edit 2: Picture via IGN http://www.ign.com/images/albums/the-best-cosplays-of-pax-east/51525592f4916da2e6e21353
>They wouldn't give their production secrets away so easily.
I understand that, but I meant more of the writing process and process of discarding of tracks that didn't meet the final cut, examples more along those lines. Even if they did show off some of the secrets of RAM's creation, such as showcasing the monster synth they used, it wouldn't matter as it was custom built for them and the information wouldn't really be of use to anyone.
>Though if you look hard enough I'm sure you will find how they produce their tracks.
That's kind of my point, there is hardly any information on this, however if you know of something don't hesitate to inform me.
>You know where that A-Track interview is at? I'd like to give that a read.
A-Track interview is found here, scroll down a little until you get to the 'Stronger' section: http://genius.com/A-Trak
>To be fair though, I mean, we're like pretty die-hard DP fans so we'd know about this stuff already
This is fair, although I can't help feel disappointed that a lot of the information presented in this film is easily accessible through a couple of Google searches.
Just to be clear, I didn't dislike the film, I actually enjoyed it a fair bit, but I couldn't help but feel that it fell sort in its interviewing and content. This partially comes down to no fault of the BBC's own, the duo are notorious for their secrecy. However you run the risk of these shortcomings when you produce a biography, a recount of someone's career, about a subject that is practically anonymous.
well that is incorrect. I agree that they use the same patched synth and filter overlay, but it isnt even in the same key as arou nd the world and is a completely different melody. By that logic all music with piano in it is a remix of Johann Sebastian Bach. PLUS if it was a remix there would be writing credits to Thomas but there are NONE. https://www.discogs.com/Le-Knight-Club-Santa-Claus-Holiday-On-Ice/release/7677 Sorry but this isnt a remix, its a completely different song that uses the same filtered keyboard for lead.
You dont use a printer to print .pdo files, You use a program like http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/download/viewer.html and then save the .pdo files as a .pdf.
Heres a hole collection of pepakura files if you need them http://www.thedaftclub.com/forum/showthread.php/17216-Daft-Punk-Pepakura-File-Collection
You might want to give Inkscape a try. It's a free vector art program. Here's a YouTube tutorial series showing you how to use it.
Hope you dig it.
I'm not sure where you live, but if you're in Europe, you could try getting the Studio Masters from Qobuz: http://www.qobuz.com/album/random-access-memories-daft-punk/0886443927087
Even if it won't let you buy them, you could try emailing Qobuz customer support and they may remove the region lock from your account (that's what I did -- I'm from the US. It's also worked for other people).
I haven't printed a full-size helmet specifically, but using automotive filler primer like this will make sanding before you paint a lot easier. I hope the rest goes well!
If anyone is interested in giving it a shot: Here you go!
Let me know what you think, be honest please.
However, the Update with the Achievement will only be live sometime next week due to verification.
Hey sorry. My account was banned for some reason.
I got mine at a pawn shop for $50Can
It appears Amazon Canada is selling them for $109. Keep in mine I’m Canadian, American might be cheaper!
Good for you man but I mean it's not exactly rare at the moment.
Looks like it's available on amazon now
No I mea-
u/togtimusprime is correct. Mostly you won’t notice any problems right away. But long term they wear down your record and degrade the quality of it. So if you care about your records you’ll use a proper turntable and clean them regularly. Also, use an anti static brush on them when you play them so you don’t hear any static. This is an excellent Record Cleaning Kit That even comes with a needle brush. And this is a great Vinyl Anti-Static Brush
Those suitcase turntables are HORRIBLE for your records. Sell it to someone asap and get an actual turntable. Don’t play another record you care about on that. I recommend the AudioTechnica LP60X

This seems to link to the 25th Anniversary Edition, but when you click on Vinyl it switches to the normal Homework album?
Both Homework and Alive 1997 are now listed on the official Daft Punk Amazon page - with a new release date listed for Friday, April 15th, 2022!

Discovery got a 74 http://www.metacritic.com/music/discovery/daft-punk I like the new album for the most part and like it more each time I listen to it, but I don't think its anywhere near as good as Discovery.
Just listen to the video op posted and then listen to this. There's this deep bassdrum and overall it's less loaded production wise than the studio version. Just a stripped down version with a drum-centered beat. The intro and first verse that is.
Silver one 20 inches
Gold one 22 inches
I noticed from pics guy man wears his slightly lower so I got a longer chain
Yep pre-orders from https://www.amazon.co.uk/Discovery-VINYL-Daft-Punk/dp/B099ZRXZ6Q/ - I had an email from a record shop in town to say these were being repressed.
I got it with the Alive 97/07 Box set. Wow I just saw it's only $79 now! I highly recommend it for that price. I got it for $100 and it was a good value for that price. Definitely worth it. Looks like it just dropped this low for the first time!

There you are my guy
I got my icon for the subreddit on my desktop from Icon Archive.
The only difference between these and Icon Archives is that there is a few more choices of helmets with or without LED's. But everyone loves LED's!
Sorry about the wait, just got off work. The helmet was made by DetravoidConcept from the website Esty. The helmet is great but its a little bit warped along the jawline part. I think it happened in shipping. Other than that its top quality!
I just got this printed and framed! (2'x3')
This is the 1800×2698 file I made and used for printing
Do not save as .Jpeg. Save as .png or .tiff if you're using it or risk quality loss due to compression!
I put it through a resolution increaser/noise reducer/upscaler and loved the result. Feel free to use the file to have it printed also!

Actually the real sample on Contact is not the NASA mission, it's that one: http://www.whosampled.com/sample/204929/Daft-Punk-DJ-Falcon-Contact-The-Sherbs-We-Ride-Tonight/
I'm just curious how you define "traditional" instruments versus non-traditional one. Is it the date of creation of the instrument? Or its popularity ? Is a traditional instrument, a true instrument ?
Go to their website and click on "Menu" > "Download."
Ninja edit: Never mind. The option seems to be gone. Sorry! I've been using Tidal for the last few months, but now the desktop player is gone.
>A drug user, someone who frequently uses drugs.
Damn you must be broken in the head. I never knew they made a dictionary of descriptions pulled out of your fucking ass.
Here's an actual definition:
>drug user
>a person who takes drugs
If that not simple enough for you to comprehend, then I don't know what to do.
>Amazing how you all wish to tell me I'm the one making it about drugs
Maybe you shouldn't mention you're using illicit substances then.
You're welcome. In case you want the pack, you can get it here:

I put together this early version of Emotion using chords.mp3 and voc_back_loop4.mp3.
The only thing I found was this early version of Emotion and some sort of demo song, which was posted to this subreddit. So, if you want more, you're going to have to go through the pack yourself.

I’m not 100% it’s from them but they said they got it from Amazon
Thanks! I might eventually go chrome, I did a bunch of research and the best cheap option was this spray paint if you want to go the not quite as chrome route. But with lots of sanding I’m sure you could get it looking pretty good!
hey chubs, what you’d need is:
1.) Nanoleaf panels
2.) An android or chrome device
3.) wifi (non 5g)
4.) this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
I have 30 panels in the video, but that’s really sorta overkill. I’ve rocked the Nanoleaf starter kit, which comes with 9 panels, and it still looks amazing. A starter kit is about $200 or so I believe, but also you can sometimes find them used secondhand for a little cheaper.

hey! The LED wall panels are called “Nanoleaf panels.” The ones in the video are called “Nanoleaf Aurora” which is their old model you can sometimes find used for a better price.
The app that’s controlling the lights is called “LightLink:” https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
hey spicy, you can find them online on various retailers, you just wanna search for “Nanoleaf Aurora.” Nanoleaf also gets distribution through brick and mortar at best buy, apple, and home depot i believe.
Tbh, i would search for used aurora panels as well… and if you want to play back daft punk stuff, use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyclub.cyclubspotify
the pants, the shirt (although it doesn't mach the exact thing that daft punk wore, but close enough) and I can't seem to find the gloves anywhere
From my experience spray paint is usually not very reflective, probably because metallic particles used to make paint look shiny clog up nozzles.
There are quite a few metallic acrylic paints that you'll need to brush on but that I think will look pretty good like this.
If you've got a store nearby that sells stuff like this (Walmart or Michael's) then you should buy from there, it'll probably be much cheaper.
Stuff like this typically works best if you dry-brush it on. That just means that you barely have any paint of the brush and put it on lightly. This builds coats up and covers up brushstrokes pretty well (especially on smaller things like these).
The dark colour these already seem to be will help a lot in making them look metallic. Once they're painted you should use glossy acrilyc varnish to seal them and make them more durable. You could also use food colouring to tint the varnish orange so Guy-Man's helmet will look gold (like this video shows with an Indiana Jones prop.)
I'm not an expert in any sense, but I've got some experience with model painting. Hope that helps!
I believe you can get the one on the right on amazon. This isn't the link I orginally got it at, but there's a few listings
It was the year 2000, i thought i was cool because i had a little lcd screen installed in my car with a ps2 hooked up to it. I liked buying dvds of music videos to play in my car, rather than music cds. Found this beauty at my local music shop - https://www.amazon.com/D-F-T-Daft-Punk/dp/6305827842 - ended up playing around the world constantly.

just to point out...Mondo represses are just a maybe at this moment. I forgot the exact wording but it was something towards like "we'll try what we can"
So, my guess is they need to work out some sort of agreement with Disney for additional presses and has to be OK'ed...
Since there's uncertainty involved, I ordered Amazon copy (link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FZ83HCM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and will keep it unopened. Since I could careless about artwork, if Mondo opens up preorder again within the 30day return period, I will preorder from Mondo and return Amazon's order. It is about $32 dollars more after tax, but it' s better to have insurance than no insurance...and if Mondo can't announce represses within 30 days, I think the $30 more is worth it than waiting more (basically $1 dollar a day for waiting)...since I really want the vinyl. Other wise I will be looking at scalper prices which are like $150+ on average regardless of it being Mondo or Not Mondo
The seller I got it from on Amazon is sold out now, but this one has them for a couple bucks more and only two left : https://smile.amazon.com/Posters-Elites-Guy-Manuel-Homem-Christo-Bangalter/dp/B07632K6ZG/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?keywords=daft+punk+poster&qid=1579142845&sprefix=Daft+punk+po&sr=8-13

Thank you! I got this sad lil' thing second hand, and the motor tends to slow down in the middle of tracks for no reason, so I've been looking for a replacement that wouldn't break the bank.
My records and I thank you!
amazon has the stardust CD for $4 https://www.amazon.com/Music-Sounds-Better-You-Stardust/dp/B00000DAHL/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1484952574&sr=8-3&keywords=stardust+music otherwise discogs for sure.
Is it not cheaper on Amazon? I got mine for under €80 including delivery. Maybe that's just Europe though. And I've no idea about exchange rates haha!
Either way, it's an amazing collection!
