Stupid article. All about port begging for Switch. Not one western Kiseki fan expects Sen III news three months after launch? Don't get me wrong I'm glad a big western site is talking about Kiseki, but he should know how difficult localizing a Kiseki game is, considering this https://kotaku.com/the-curse-of-kiseki-how-one-of-japans-biggest-rpgs-bar-1740055631
Well, there are way more positive reviews than the negative one. According to OpenCritic, there are 5 perfect scores and just one negative one
I have a save onboard the Arseille at the start of Chapter 7. You'd need to redo the dungeon before Bleublanc, but other than that it's pretty close.
http://www.filedropper.com/svdat012
It's on normal, pretty high BP but not max, with a transferred max BP save from FC.
To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to use the Vita's extra costumes in the PS4 or Steam versions. The 27 different DLC folders for the Steam version all match up to the different DLC sets that are listed on the store page, which are mostly just item sets: https://store.steampowered.com/app/579180/Ys_VIII_Lacrimosa_of_DANA__VIIILacrimosa_of_DANA/
If you're only going to play one version, though, I'd probably recommend the PS4 version; the extra costumes for the Vita are just cosmetic, but the PS4 and Steam versions have quite a bit of extra gameplay content that isn't on the Vita. (and the Steam version is, to the best of my knowledge, still a buggy mess)
Was same with Zero, using the PSP patch broke a lot of menus and more waiting needs to be done for fans to patch it correctly.
https://nyaa.si/view/1054201 try those scena files with this, the uploader seems to suggest a lot of it is fixed.
I downloaded it from nyaa.si and it was perfectly fine, they host from a file management site called MEGA (never heard of it previously) but they seem like a professional corporation to me.
Since the other comment has stayed up for almost a day, I'll assume it's okay to post the specific link
Read the full description (though there may be spoilers in the comments so I wouldn't read those). Also, since this isn't mentioned in the description, you should user BorderlessGaming to play in full-screen in case full screen doesn't work
Yeah, thank you so much! I`ve been enjoying CSIII with your translation tremendously and if this one is only nearly as good than I`m sure I will have some more 100 fantastic hours ahead. I can only recommend anyone who really wants to know how the Saga ends to give the spreadsheets a try. I was sceptical before starting CSIII instead because I have never played an imported game like this, but the writing of the translation is much better than Kitsune himself gives it credit (he is underselling it) and the gameplay is easy enough if you played through the first 2 games, especially if you did Nightmare runs. Originally I wanted to wait till christmas with CSIV, but know I am not sure if I can wait that long.
Again, thanks a lot!
The game is also still over 50% off on Amazon with them handling customs and shipping it via airfright, which is extremely fast (took 2 days to Europe for me) and cheap overall (I paid 40~ Euro).
Amazon JP takes pre-orders right now.
There's no cover art at the moment, but I guess as soon as it's added, it might have spoilers as well.
There's a neat 3rd party Windows util that can give you the checksum of stuff in the right-click -> Properties menu. http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/
Been using it for years. It is simple and functional.
https://nyaa.si/view/1021814. Use the mega link that is included at the top. I would tell you to buy the game and link the patches seperately, but having done it myself its a ballache.
That link has the translation, it has all other fan patches and fixes plus the voice mod included with the game - all in one so you dont have to piss about.
Btw get a program called windows borderless gaming and set the game to windowed in the launcher and configure it with that software, there is screen tearing otherwise.
Not the same person you replied to, but I'll chime in anyways.
I don't believe there is a way to use PayPal on DLSite and I'm not aware of any other sites selling the game digitally. One option would be to buy the physical version from Amazon Japan (Link), which should still work with the Geofront patch (they list Amazon Japan as a suggested retailer at the end of their Zero trailer). This would be more expensive, though, since you would also be paying for shipping.
I, and many others, have used DLSite with no problems, but I understand why it would make you uncomfortable to input your credit card details.
I hope this is of some help!
awful, now that the geofront translation came out it should be confined to the annals of history, never to be played.
if dlsite rejects your credit card just import a physical disk from amazon: https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B3%E3%83%A0-%E8%8B%B1%E9%9B%84%E4%BC%9D%E8%AA%AC-%E9%9B%B6%E3%81%AE%E8%BB%8C%E8%B7%A1-Windows8%E5%AF%BE%E5%BF%9C%E7%89%88/dp/B00CIDFK2K/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=...
You can buy it on greenmangaming (steam).
https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/the-legend-of-heroes-trails-of-cold-steel-iv-pc/
If you enjoyed the Cold Steel arc, definitely put the Trails in the Sky games on your list. They're often on sale on Steam and GOG.com (and I think you may have just missed a sale but don't sweat it, they'll be on sale again).
And in the spirit of getting down voted, I like the Evolution version soundtracks too (which are from PS Vita ports that unfortunately will probably never make it internationally). Oddly enough, the Evolution soundtracks are available worldwide.

It's generally recommended to just download the game prepatched rather then worry about that. I'd recommend over using ppsspp downloading the prepatched pc version with voices which you can get here:
Amazon CA has Cold Steel 1 up for pre order. Assume 2 will be up eventually. Otherwise order from Video Game PLus.
Found this while looking for artbooks on Amazon JP and thought it was worth sharing, since I didn't see it mentioned by anyone.
Edit: It's already released. My title just made it look like a pre-order.
I bought my copy of the game off of the US Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Heroes-Trails-Steel-limited-Japanese/dp/B071VL2PF7/ref=pd_sbs_63_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B071VL2PF7&pd_rd_r=b4afff00-f976-11e8-a7b3-cb3e70de2e69&pd_rd_w=rN079&pd_rd_wg=WktjP&pf_rd_p=7d5d9c3c-5e01-...
There's the Crossbell Archive ( 英雄伝説 零の軌跡 碧の軌跡 公式設定資料集 クロスベルアーカイブ) which elaborates on some small details that didn't make it into the duology. It might be hard to access it though. As far as I know it hasn't ever been scanned nor translated.
Part 2 since I hit the character limit, haha.
Now this was a larger ramble than I was planning on, seems like I wrote an entire essay, I hope it's not too incoherent, but I hope it gives you an idea why I think these books are good, and especially why they could be interesting for people that like Trails since it hits many of your points > "a focus on character, plot, and big twists"
as for those twists, Sanderson always write his stories with big twists at the end of every part of the story, and especially at the end of his books. They always end in his signature "Sanderstorm" style where everything snowballs out of control in a massive finale with rapidly switching point of view sections. Give his first book Elantris a try, it's probably his weakest, being his first book, but if you like this one you'll most likely enjoy them all. And it only gets better from here on.
I think it's a pretty big stretch of a rumor. If it's to be released in October, we would've heard something from XSEED about it. I typically keep my ear to the ground for my site and I've yet to see a confirmation or denial of any sort from them regarding the domain located back in Jan.
And it's not really outside of retailers to post ridiculous preorder expectations and all to be honest. I don't think a retailer posting it has any weight at all.
Did a bit of digging and so far I found this gameplay video from Bilibili: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1ke4y147o3/?spm_id_from=333.788.recommend_more_video.7
The comments there seem to imply that this isn't an official game and is probably some asset flip with the skins changed.
And they do have Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.canglang.kiseki.googleplay
From there the developer website is basically an empty page and the e-mail is a gmail account, so I suppose up to you guys to decide if it's officially licensed or not.
I'd suggest not dumping any money into the game, at least.
Amazon. Make sure you're not looking at the special editions with extras and stuff.
https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Heroes-Trails-Extracurricular-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B082DTBPMY/

>No. Xseed has a general anti-censorship philosophy.
Well, there was quite some drama in regards to them censoring Akiba's Beat...
Why don't you preorder through amazon.co.jp:
There are no import duties, just obviously shipping fees. Atleast, I'm from the Netherlands, when the price (without additional costs like shipping, taxes) is lower than 150 euro's, it's import duty free. I ordered the figuri this morning, price was 20,252 (about 141,50 euro), which is actually tax included. With shipping price is 23,996, which is give or take 167,66 euro. I find that pretty reasonable, it's actually a bit less than I paid for the other two figurines from Legend of Heroes. In the later case however, I bought the figurines from a local store, Archonia. The actually charge me 300 euro for Rixia Mao, that's without shipping costs of 4 euro.
If you want to try a learning app that also makes you write the kanji (and it does help a lot for learning), I recommend you give it a try to Kanji Senpai. Android only as far as I know, though.
Amazon JP has some used ones for Zero.
I don't think Ao has a Super Arrange OST.
oh sorry I didn't understand you, no unfortunately I don't know where the save folder is located for gog check your documents or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\FALCOM\ or C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\
Agree on most stuff, but some I disagree:
Rean - he is totally a Barbarian, he can gain a buff for a limited amount of time and is very strong in close combat. he just uses a Katana but he isn't a ninja at all. he also has stuff like Danger sense and reckless attack, which fits with his personality.
Laura - paladin without a doubt, of Class 7 she is the least barbaric in nature.
To add some more:
Randy: Same as Rean, though I would lean more towards him being a Berserker, ~~but I can't find such class on the Wiki. he is totally a berserker though, the berserkerest of all of them .~~ Scratch that, he is 100% a berserker
Tio - Wizard with staff.
Wazy - Monk, Martial arts. [Ao spoilers]>!he can also be a Offensive Cleric!<
Lloyd - Ranger suits him the best
Ellie - Much like Kloe, Multiclass Cleric-Wizard. might use a bow though if there were no pistols.
Noel - Jack of all trades, master of none, with a slight leaning towards Physical abilities.
>!Rixia!< - Shadow Assassin, with a bit of boost towards STR.
Dudely- I can't think of any, He can be a Tank, A Bard, or a Monk.
You didn't mention Renne - Can't decide between Rogue or Assassin, but she has a battle-ready companion.
Keep in my mind I have never in my life played a game of D&D game (you just can't play alone) the most of this is knowledge based on quick wiki searches.
What do you mean by "shorter linguistic distance". There is a very large linguistic distance between the two spoken languages, is there not? For example: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/9727264/The-real-relationship-between-Japanese-and-Chinese
> I think Unreal would be a massive step up for the series if they moved to it.
Unreal isn't necessarily free for a major publisher- they take a royalty cut every quarter if a game surpasses a certain threshold in sales.
PhyreEngine is 100% free as long as a developer is tied in to Sony. They seem to be content with it- though we also have Kondo recently talking about how CS3's character models caused issues with PhyreEngine as well in a particular scene towards endgame.
The other engine they use, Yamaneko, is their own developed engine- which has been used in the Ys games, and is still used in them. I even think they they used Yamaneko for Cold Steel, originally, until they ran headfirst into development issues. And when Sony stepped in to assist them, they moved the game into PhyreEngine.
Now that I think they're comfortable with both of the engines they use, I'd rather them have a little bit of 'comfort' instead of fighting the game over and over- it lets them have the freedom to play around and experiment a lot more, which is what they did with Ys IX. And despite the framerate issues that the game had, the game was still pretty incredible with what they were toying around with.
Oh hello Gwyn, I didn’t know you had an account here. Are you using NordVPN too? Anyway, I would appreciate it if you didn’t take pictures of me (or anyone else) in bath towels. Thanks and may the winds be with you.
I take that sort of date as a placeholder but that is roughly in the targeted release window. Likely the date that they're targeting but not locked in yet.
Anyway I was expecting Reverie to be later in the year than that. It looks like Nayuta has the September release window instead. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Legend-Nayuta-Boundless-Trails-Nintendo/dp/B09CLT2HMH/?th=1
Steam keys for the standard edition are available through Fanatical and GreenManGaming. There seems to be an extra 20% discount on GMG but I'm not sure where it comes from.
Yeah the hot spring and the achievement for the >!Spiral Gear!< are really tricky but they're not too hard to get once you know about them. Though I'm still missing the Ace Hunter achievement for some reason, I'll save that for when I want to replay the game.
Anyway here are my save files: https://anonfiles.com/haK53fE7uf/Zwei_2_Save_Data_rar , I hope they'll be useful to you!
What about this one? Be warned, it will crash if you try to access the recipe book's first page (so you need to turn page first on an ??? entry before moving to be able to cook anything)or (a much lesser extent) the monster guide. Use a PSP emulator like PPSSPP to bypass that.
https://cdromance.com/psp/the-legend-of-heroes-zero-no-kiseki-english-patched/
Is this the Guren one btw?
There is no flame war or vendetta, I still love his work as a VA but this is something I seriously can't let go undocumented and reported on. This is literally a high profile VA condoning the death and violence against innocents across the US and you're telling me not to share it with the communities he's a part of?
Multiple states have been in flames for days and multiple people have been brutally beaten to near death and it's still happening as I type this. Just go watch yourself:
I had a similar problem with Ark of Napisthim. There seems to be some problem that the PS4 controller doesn't work quite right with the default drivers you get from Windows. Installing 3rd party driver software called "DS4Windows" fixed this for me --- there are several versions of it, developed by a few different people... I think I chose the one here: https://github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases (also mentioned in https://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-use-a-ps4-controller-on-pc/), but as usual when installing stuff from the internet, use your head and decide for yourself.
Do the basic stuff like verify the game files, uninstall>reinstall, and check for any 3rd party apps that might be running in the background. I had Monster Hunter World crashing on me and completely closing out of SKIM64 (better known as Special K from Kaldaien who tries to improve a lot of Steam games) is what fixed it for me.
If none of that works, I say try running the game in Windowed Mode and use Borderless Gaming to run it in Borderless Windowed mode. Technically the game's Fullscreen option IS Borderless Windowed I believe, but I ran into a lot of issues while using Fullscreen mode.
I'm not clear on what the issue is or what you tried. What do you mean by the fact that it looks like "a huge downgrade at 1080p"? How were you accomplishing setting this to 1080p? If you haven't already, did you try setting your desktop screen resolution to 1920x1080 and running it with borderless gaming? Do other games look bad at 1920x1080? What exactly doesn't look good about it? Can you share a screenshot or something?
There's a whole slew of different issues that could potentially be at play when you're dealing with a 4K TV connected to a computer, either at 3840x2160 or other resolutions, that could affect visual quality and thus depending on what you're experiencing, your solution may vary.
Hmmm are you using Borderless Gaming? Also V-Sync should be turned on. I didn't have any text scrolling problems though and I didn't even know texture mods existed for the game. I just used Borderless Gaming and it was smooth sailing.
What version of the patch do you have?
Looking up this error, it appears to be an issue that sometimes comes back from chrome. Do you normally get an error 101 with it as well?
I have this link that gives some suggestions on how to resolve it: https://www.ionos.com/digitalguide/hosting/technical-matters/err-connection-reset/
If the controller worked for Zero, then the computer recognizes the inputs from the analog and dpad, so I figured you can try to use a program that maps controller inputs to certain keys. I used antimicro, which is a free old open-source program that does just that, when I played Ao in order to set a key to turbo and use turbo with a controller.
In other words try mapping the dpad of your controller to wasd for moving using antimicro (Link: https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro/releases). You want the one that says "antimicro-2.23-win32.portable.zip".
Let me know if that works for you. You can probably map the analog sticks to wasd too.
That's what I was missing. Didn't see that documented anywhere, all good now.
I'm using antimicro to map joypad to keypresses so I just set 1 and 2 to my left and right shoulders respectively and that's working in game.
As far as your other question about the fps, I am still a bit confused about the actual framerate. I'm setting the FPSTarget value in ed_voice.ini to 120 from the default of 60. However the effect I get is the reverse of what I'd expect, in that when set to 60 it's twice as fast as when I set it to 120 (you need to hit 3 after updating and saving it). So, 120 is a good baseline speed for me and then I adjust turbo accordingly. Menu animations and stuff are a bit slow in areas but that's 100 times better than constant choppiness.
Hi when i played Ao i used Antimicro to bind the shift key to my Right trigger and 0 to back on controller to disable auto text advance.
Here's my settings on Antimicro: https://i.imgur.com/Wq0lbsX.jpg
You can change it to however you like though. hope it helps!
I would use Snipping Tool to take a screenshot, then use an image processor to crop them.
For highest quality, you could render the game in 4k using NVIDIA DSR.
You could also try Waifu2x, but im not sure if it would work well with such low resolution images.
Good Luck!
Sorry for the late reply. If I remember correctly, it worked nearly out of the box for me (except I needed to install LAVFilters for the videos to work, and, like you set launch locale to Japanese, which should not require the Locale Emulator since this is for Windows). However, I'm using the devel version of Wine (aka not development, but not stable either) which was version 5.19 (and now is 5.20), and if you tried everything below and it still does not work, try changing your wine version to devel. What version of Azure have you tried to patch (IIRC, the Chinese port does not work with it, but the leaked version should)? By "no text shows up" do you mean that you get a black screen at startup or that you get the menu but no text? Generally, if you get a pure black screen it's most likely something failed to load (and you should have the logs somewhere to see what's wrong). Have you set dinput8 as native -> integrated library in winecfg (required for most Kiseki mod patches, tho it should not be necessary here). If you do not know how to do it: Open winecfg for your prefix (if you're using an helper application like PlayOnLinux/PlayOnMac, there should be a function for it somewhere), go to the "Libraries" tab, enter "dinput8" in the field of "new replacement for" and click Add.
If none of the above work, try sending in the logs (there should be an option for them).
You'll need to install wine and winetricks (I don't have a mac, so I can't help you there). Then you run the installer for the game using wine (in the terminal, that would be wine installer.exe
, where installer.exe
is the installer program). Then, you install the game as you would on windows.
At this point, you should be able to run the game, but without prerendered videos. To get these, you need to run winetricks quartz
and winetricks amstream
and install LAVfilters via wine. You can find more infos on https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=35267.
Thanks for the steps, I can confirm that this (almost) works with wine 5.4.0 (current winehq-development, from winehq) on debian 10. I had to reinstall LAVfilters after the installation though; otherwise the game crashes on the first video (on the train).
And of course thanks to all involved in the translation!
You could maybe try to just use the LAVFilters (which is the only thing you really need here): https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases
Which has a .bat file included that install it but nothing is gonna let you install the codec on an USB since this has to modify the registry and whatnot.
By the way, if you want KCP you can get it here: http://haruhichan.com/projects/KCP/
Which OS are you on? This seems like a codec issue so you could try installing CCCP and see if it's any help.
I had a somewhat similar issue a few years ago where the movies played at half the framerate due to me having some ridiculously old version of xvid or divx installed. Once I uninstalled it everything was fine.
I had success with Remembering the Kanji as well (although I used top rated user stories from https://kanji.koohii.com/ instead of coming up with my own stories). In retrospect I didn't need to use RTK for all 2000 kanji. Some folks have created smaller lists of the most common kanji only ("RTK Lite") and this is what I'd recommend for newcomers.
RTK doesn't teach you everything you need to know about kanji. But going through it helps you learn kanji efficiently, so when you see a new kanji you've never seen before, you can remember it easily because it's just made of 2 or 3 parts of kanji that you do know, instead of 20 random strokes you've never seen before.
It's holiday now for Zerker so progress will likely be faster, he'll tweet something when he reaches 75% and then another official update at 80%. He was able to do 10% in 4 weeks before but it'll likely be slower since he should've reached 75% around today if it progressed at the same speed as last year. He's also going back through his earlier work and re-editing it currently to be on the same level as his later work, so it'll likely be a bit slower to progress. Also, if anybody wants to know anything specific you can ask him questions here: https://curiouscat.me/supremezerker he usually answers them quite quickly.
take a screenshot of the config page and save the picture, go to https://translate.yandex.com/ocr, select japanese to english and upload the picture and you will get a rough translation
I've made archives with all the needed voice files for each game, you can DL the files for the 3rd here: https://pixeldrain.com/u/LDCzyw4w
Just unpack what's inside into the game folder, tested it for myself and on an acquaintance's game (Steam) so it should work.
I would recommend playing the PC version for both Ao and Zero. They look and run better. You can easily find the patches on nyaa.si . Flame's edit for Ao is pretty good and perfectly understandable.
You can grab the PC versions on zero and ao on nyaa.si If you feel bad about "pirating" them you can always buy the games direct from Falcom but still download those copies because they're the best versions out at the moment.
Here: https://nyaa.si/view/1006717
Download the voices folder in the mega, and follow the instructions in the readme. Would definitely recommend, while I didn't play FC with voices, SC is much more emotional and the voices enhance it HUGELY.
right click on the exe file that launches TiTs go to properties. check the date created/modified and match it to the picture. or alternately (http://www.mitec.cz/exe.html). drag the game exe to the analyzer and it will tell you the CRC32/Hash. This is to make sure the version of TiTS you have is compatible. and if not. where to begin looking for a fix/mod.
3 and 4's are called "Visual Collections" for some reason (idk why they're called that they're not really different) and they're harder to get these days. I'd try looking for them on Yahoo Auctions with these descriptions, I bought them off there via Zenmarket myself:
英雄伝説 閃の軌跡III 公式ビジュアルコレクション
英雄伝説 閃の軌跡IV -THE END OF SAGA- 公式ビジュアルコレクション
Hajimari's is still available in case you want to grab it already:
I bought these and never looked back. Made the switch so much more enjoyable.
So with the kuro spreadsheet I plan getting a capture card, I’m getting this never seen them this cheap before so I figured I’d buy one for kuro, what other wires/cords will I need in order to connect my ps4 and laptop with the capture card? Thanks for any help
I intend to pre-order the normal SRIGGAN Edition of Kuro no Kiseki today, but at Amazon.co.jp there are seemingly two editions with only slight price differences. Could someone explain to me the difference between those two versions of the SPRIGGAN Edition?
Furthermore it is quite confusing how many different versions there are. I wonder: Those ones sold at amazon.co.jp are the SPRIGGAN Edition with this cool box sleeve which resembles the Kuro orbment when you slide it open (and those artbooks) right? I don't want to order the wrong one.
A bit related: has anyone ever used the proxy service zenmarket.jp?
I'm not OP but I got mine from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Heroes-Characters-SC/dp/1926778901
https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Heroes-Illustrations-SC/dp/192677891X
Pricey but they're really neat and I like that the books separate the arcs so I went through the Sky sections after finishing 3rd and then the Crossbell sections after finishing Ao.
Ah I mean I wanted the ebook/digital version because of that. However I only see the physical version available on Amazon jp and the falcom store, it’s this one https://www.amazon.co.jp/魔法少女まじかる☆アリサ-決定稿-ファルコムBOOKS-山下-憲一/dp/4802131313
Looks like it might be on Amazon, I'm not sure if they would ship to the US, plus it's a bit pricey lol
Just shop on Amazon JP for it. They will handle international shipping + import duties quite well. My copy shipped to NL in about 3 days and only cost 26 euros in total cost. https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B087X7NJR3/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_qd.QFb8N4S795?_x_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The game game is still only 3.700 Yen on Amazon. They also already pay customs (weirdly enough they were lower than they should have been), while also excluding japanese tax. So the base game + shipping was only 42€ to Europe when I ordered it 2 weeks ago and shipping only took 2-3 days to european mainland.
Found on the amazon listing for Trails FC.
I made a joke on Twitter about it. Tio Tech Tips, as referencing Linus Tech Tips since at some point, he kept saying, "a word from our sponsors, TunnelBear!!" Tunnel Bear is a VPN service.
Besides, I would totally watch Tio Tech Tips.
I tried looking and it doesn’t seem like it. I can only find the Frontline Edition which looks to be the normal game with some bonuses for $60. https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Heroes-Trails-Steel-Frontline-PlayStation/dp/B086V43Y87
You can find the paperback on JP Amazon here
Hope this helps!
I bought mine a month or so ago New on Amazon for $181. Looks like its unavailable at the moment unless you hit up the used/resell section.
https://www.amazon.com/Good-Smile-Company-Nendoroid-figurine/dp/B007HY3QM6
Basically obtaining ao on PC is a dumpster fire. You can easily get the psp version from Amazon here: (https://www.amazon.com/Eiyuu-Densetsu-Kiseki-Japan-Sony-PSP/dp/B004TJ4M1Q)
Here is a link to the PC version : http://joyoland.com/Shop/Item?id=3e4066f9-22ab-41ec-a6d1-1a948f7c3279
But its only in Chinese, the site only works with Chinese credit cards, it has stupid amounts of drm, and overall not worth it.
No worries. They have it listed on Amazon US with a date of 31 March 2020, but XSEED have said that is just a placeholder date. Hopefully they'll announce the actual release date soon!
It's also this price on Amazon if you find that more convenient.
At first it was a bit strange since it's a new UI, but I like it and actually find it pretty intuitive (the only thing I did find very out of place was the S-break being R1 rather than triangle), but after literally only 3-4 battles I'd settled in.
I guess I can understand why people might have a hard time seeing the numbers but honestly I didn't have any problems with it. At first I had to actually "find" them, but once I knew the new home of the respective HP/EP/CP gauges/numbers I was okay.
If it's any help my friend has awful eye sight and uses a cunningly placed magnifying panel (like the kind you can get for books/kindles, similar to this) to help her see HUDs/UIs for video games, with the bottom right location of the UI in Cold Steel III I imagine this would be pretty easy to rig up without blocking much of the screen.
What's nice about the Falcom crowd here is that, with as serious as we are about the games, we make it pretty easy for each other to do the things like this. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Floofy from The Geofront (and other places) has already read and replied here herself (I think it's herself. Could be wrong.) But yeah, you've got at least 200 hours of videogame before you'd need to consider taking a trip to Crossbell.
Oh, and I noticed below that someone gave you the impression that there's no legal way to get the games. There is, actually. Here's a link to Zero on Amazon.
I'm bad at Reddit, couldn't make that a regular clicky link. Then all you'd need is the english patch, which I'm pretty sure is linked to elsewhere on this reddit.
Edit: Oh, I guess it IS a clicky link. I'm so bad at this that I did it right and didn't even know.
I started playing on 6/27, have about 30 hours of playtime. I only experienced 2 crashes so far, one after listening the intro theme in the main menu for 5+ minutes (lol), another one at Chapter 5 when [spoiler](#s "Dana and Adol are touching the crystal outside Baja Temple").
I haven't encountered any issue with talking to NPC or opening the menu window. I noticed some FPS drop when rendering the monsters that are located far away, but it doesn't cause any lag to the character I'm controlling or any monsters located nearby.
I'm playing at the highest graphics settings also. This is the laptop that I'm using to play.

I always use a credit card so I'm not familiar with alternate payment options for anything so this is about all I can do.
Is your PS3 damaged in any way? I would try opening up your PS3 and de-dusting everything. Have you ever had the Yellow Ring of Death? It could also be a hard drive issue as you say but I've never had an issue with Cold Steel on my stock hard drive and I have like 300 cumulative hours in both CS1 and CS2. Then again, a modern hard drive upgrade can only improve your PS3 experience so if you have multiple games that you play regularly, consider upgrading to an SSHD just because they're so cheap nowadays. Go with an SSHD instead of an SSD. I've read that SSDs can't even be fully utilized by the PS3 due to its older technology so don't even bother. SSHDs still offer a huge improvement over the stock HDD while being easy on the wallet. Here's the link to the SSHD I bought.
The one I use on my Android phone is called Jsho, and I think it works pretty well, for my purposes at least. It lets you search in English or Japanese, and just has a single small ad at the bottom. It also has a search by radical feature, which is always nice. It doesn't use obscene amounts of space like some I've tried, either.
