Unfortunately that is not an option for me. I need my external plugged in at all times to access all of my games.
I have however found a workaround. I used an old Rock Band USB 4 Port Adapter and plugged that into the side of the Xbox One, then plugged both dongles in and synced each guitar up. I am now not having any issues at all playing anywhere in my room.

I hate to break it to you, man, but GHTV got shut down in December 2018.
You can still play thoes songs using Clone Hero, there's a playlist of every GHTV song available with music videos if you can find it. (though, I will warn you, it is a massive file. I reccomend cherry-picking your favorites and adding them individually to save space.) You'll need an XBOX dongle for your guitar to connect, even if you have a PlayStation Guitar.
They aren't being manufactured for a loooong time. The best you can do is to go on Ebay or similar sites and hope to find something. If you live in the US several people have recommended that you go to Goodwill a few times a week or so and see if they get anything - might take a while but you might cop a great deal.
You could get a wired xplorer for the PC, but you could basically use ANY Xbox 360 controller if you purchase a Microsoft Wireless Reciever adapter for your PC. On Amazon they're about 20 bucks, and you could get an off-brand (which I use) for just like 5-10 dollars.
Microsoft Wireless Reciever (Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2
So you can go for an Xplorer, Les Paul or any other guitar as long as it's for the Xbox 360. Sometimes you make good deals, I got 2 unused (pretty much) Xplorers the other day for only 15 bucks, but stuff like that doesn't come around often.
Good luck!
Click through (to Imgur) for description of each image, and click here for a full inventory of all 80 guitars. I started collecting at the beginning of the year; for several months I had a habit of checking Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Letgo, Offerup, Craigslist, Mercari, and 5miles multiple times a day to look for excellent deals.
I'm going to start a little business (not going to make a profit really, but I want to have an online storefront) where I sell these refurbished. :) About 30% of these are going to be cannibalized for parts, and then I'm going to resell all but a handful that I want to keep for myself. I have no plans to buy any more for the forseeable future!

Thank you for your answer This wouldn’t work?
If you still want to use a Kramer you can pick them up fairly cheap. Last one I saw for sale was at a local shop for 18 bucks. Then just pick up a PS2 to USB adapter from Amazon (this one works best with guitar controllers) and remap the controls and you're good to go.
Hey mate. A lot of people use the les Paul guitars cause there were a lot more of those made than other models. GH3 was their most popular game by far; and the les Paul guitar came with it in the box.
If you’re looking to play on PC, any official guitar will work, but you’ll need different adapters/dongles based on what guitar you have. Xbox 360 wireless guitars use this to connect to PC. PS3 guitars need the dongle that came with it in the box, or the identical model. Wii guitars connect through wiimote to your PC’s Bluetooth, or can me made into a wired guitar using a raphnet adapter.
Sadly I know nothing about brands as they were $130+ AUD (Australian Dollar) and needed to be shipped from the US. this is the link to one I found that had the best reviews, the only reason I haven't picked this one up is price, seeing as it is $237 AUD. But if thrift shops aren't an option you might have to spend more to get a 3rd party one (Side note, if you get a wii guitar like my WOR wiitar, you will have to use 3rd party software to play clone hero, I use WiitarThing)
Your picture is a old-school Mouse PS/2 port adapter.
You need a 360 Breakaway Cable, which is a different format. What country are you in? Amazon US has it for $6 for a 2-pack.

Keep a look out on this one, its third party but it's the one I use on PC with my WT guitar, currently no connection issues to complain about and its been about a month so far
Again, not too sure if the capacitor is the problem. Strange that ANYTHING would die in a new guitar. Maybe start by getting a new dongle since yours has been used before?
You don't open it up to sync it. You open it to replace the capacitor inside.
https://www.amazon.com/Projects-Radial-Electrolytic-Capacitor-220uF/dp/B07YN61YT5
I believe it's a T9 torx driver you need, and maybe also a Phillips head driver.
That isn't how connecting that works, you'll need a wireless adapter for your guitar such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2
Keep in mind you do not have to get the official thing, there are knock offs that do the job just as well and have very little latency, but you'll have to scour eBay for them.
ah, thanks, so what technology is inside? my original one was rectangular like the one in the middle. Don't really wish to spend 200zl on the dongle. I found https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Playstation-wireless-receiver-adapter/dp/B073G633ZT which seems the most reasonable.
If you have basic solder skills you can probably DIY one up yourself.
Grab a "momentary on" foot switch like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D8EHD1S
Get a mono socket to match, drill a hole in the guitar to mount the socket and wire it to the star power button on the controller.
So when you press the pedal it is like pressing the button.
I did something like this for a gh3 controller.
Hope that helps
No it wont work, GH5 uses alps switches and GH world tour uses SPDT switches.
The only way to work is to take the entire board and solder the cables, even that i doubt it will work
This will let you connect any 4 360 controllers to your pc.
Is this one that you were talking about?
pretty sure you could replace the cable with this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07PXSJNR1/ref=cm_sw_r_api_i_GW2DRCJ32FB9FXPTHGR4_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 This isnt a guarantee cause I’ve never tried it, this is simply a suggestion. since the cables look extremely similar
I would definitely disagree that you would be able to tell just visually if the 220uF 10V capacitor is blown on a GHTar. I've probably done somewhere around 40 or 50 capacitor swaps on GHTars, usually PS3 Les Paul's, but it can happen on Xbox LPs too (as well as other guitars), and it's only been visually obvious if the cap is bad or not only a handful of times (I replace the capacitors on all the LPs I work on, regardless of if it requires it, cause if they're not already blown they probably will eventually, trash quality capacitors)
Doing a capacitor swap is not difficult though if you have just a soldering iron and a replacement capacitor. You can have 5 of them next day'd on Amazon for 6 bucks.
https://www.amazon.com/Projects-Radial-Electrolytic-Capacitor-220uF/dp/B07YN61YT5/
I haven't actually gone through with a repair yet, but found that THIS is a cheap and new part that could be used.
I don't have any Xbox One, but I found a PS2 to USB converter on Amazon that works well on my PC.
I would use this wireless reciever from Amazon. You only need one, it can connect 4 guitars:
ShoppingOnBed Wireless USB Gaming... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JC68MHU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You have to manually assign the drivers for this device when you plug it into your PC so the Xbox 360 guitar will recognize it as an Xbox 360 Wireless reciever and be able to connect.
Go into device manager on your pc and see what the dongle appears as. For me it was listed as "unknown device", so I had to manually set it as a wireless receiver. I did this by selecting the device and updating the drivers. I selected "Browse my computer for drivers", then I selected "Let me pick from a list". Then at the top of the next list select "Show all devices". Then select Microsoft under the manager list and then Xbox 360 Wireless reciever for Windows under the Model list.
Let me know if you have any questions!
I am almost positive that the internals are from this: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Double-Range-Black-Playstation/dp/B0015EUNJI
Curious if you found a dongle and see if it pairs. Otherwise I would convert it to Arduino or into a 360 guitar.
I did change the cable on the piezo. Is used those cable:

Now my pedal are working properly :D I'll confirm the cavle tonight
Alternatively, could an adapter like this one (also by Brook) be used with a PS3-coded ardwiino guitar?
Could it be one of these generic multisystem adapters? https://www.amazon.com/Jys-Multi-System-Controller-Adapter/dp/B081J2YNR7
Doing a reverse image search this was the closest thing that I could find
I personally just replaced the metal part, as the battery box was not removable (yours seems to be the same)
I bought some battery box spring bundle on amazon and I've put them in the guitar.
Sadly mine were too big so I had to cut them in half and do some welding to put them back together so they fit, but it worked just fine, guitar is working A1

bought something like this but mine didn't have the contacts separated like these (which would have been better haha)
(side note: to remove a good part of acide, put a Q-tip or else in vinegar and rub it on it. Vinegar will take most of the acid away. But most likely its probably too damaged to still work, tho you could test)
I had a similar issue with my WT guitar, I replaced the switches but you gotta know how to or know someone who can solder/desolder https://www.amazon.com/12PAack-Action-Button-Microwave-MXRS/dp/B083C113YL/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=37CA52B6WIABY&keywords=micro+switch&qid=1646000767&sprefix=micro+swi%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-3

One of these. They're available on eBay pretty frequently, but they can get pricy. I've heard there are third-party ones, but I don't know if they've been confirmed to work with the guitars/Clone Hero.
Awesome! I actually have a Rock Zero II (ps2 wired version) I found and repairing from a local thrift store. It plays decent for a 3rd part guitar.
Looks like this one: https://www.amazon.in/Fret-Rock-Zero-Wireless-Guitar/dp/B00QAG2YWA
if you get a 360 guitar you will need a Microsoft adapter https://www.amazon.com/Mcbazel-Wireless-Receiver-Microsoft-Xbox-360/dp/B076GZFLR3/ref=sr_1_6?crid=ZT0VWOH5ZSPR&keywords=xbox+360+wireless+adapter+for+pc&qid=1640167031&sprefix=360+pc+wireless%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-6
this also lets you connect any 360 wireless controller to your pc.
Ok, so these ads are for fake, unnecessary products?
https://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-Dongle-Wireless-Receiver/dp/B073G8X648
Yes you can play guitar hero live but that’s it.
If you want to play the older games with the older guitar, you’ll probably have to buy an older console and a rca to hdmi converter. RCA to HDMI,AV to HDMI... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RX69KR8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The bottom guitar will only work (on 360) in Guitar Hero Live, and on PC can be used with Clone Hero. It will not function in any other guitar hero game.
You do need a dongle to pair it to the console. The guitar controller itself is universal, it's the dongle that must be specific. Here is a link to a 360 dongle.
Download joy 2 key first. Plug your dongle in the ps2 to USB adapter then plug the adapter in your computer. Map the guitar in joy2key then go to clone hero and map it in the game. The whammy bar might also work but I’m not sure. You should be able to play it after that. Here’s the link to joy2key https://joytokey.net/en/
Not that I'm trying to 'toot my own horn', but depending on the hardware you have available Clone Hero may be the easiest setup for you. If you have an Xbox 360 or PS3 and no PC, you'll have to do with the console games. Clone Hero supports basically every controller you can throw at it, while the console games only let you use that platform's controllers on it. Plus, the DLC servers for all of the console games have long been shut down whereas CH you can import whatever you want into it easily.
In addition to what's been suggested, if your primary concern is gameplay rather than the feel of Guitar Hero, I'd recommend considering Clone Hero (for PC/Mac) as well. You can download on-disc songs that have been ripped for it, as well as thousands of custom songs. In addition, if you were interested in GHL's six-fret guitar, you can download all of GHTV to use with Clone Hero as well.
You can find more info at /r/CloneHero and clonehero.net, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
If you're looking for a streamlined experience, custom songs, and a rock solid program, I'd recommend looking into Clone Hero (/r/CloneHero).
If you want to play the actual games, you'll want to use your PS3. The only games for PS4 are GHLive (which is now only good for the 42 on-disc songs) and Rock Band 4 (which is great, but it sounds like you're asking about Guitar Hero). Here's a list of all Guitar Hero games for reference.
GH love is technically the most recent release, but it recently had one of its best features: GHTV taken down.
If Versus is your cup of tea, you have two routes, depending on if you want online or not.
Local only: Clone Hero. This is a PC game that let's you play essentially every guitar hero song ever released. Songs are made and distributed by the community, so it takes a bit of effort to set up. That said, it has the absolute most songs by far, and has a basic, no-frills 'Pro Face Off' style versus mode, that is (as of the time I'm posting this) restricted to local play. It's also my pick for the best solo experience.
Online: Rock Band 4 I believe this is the not-quite-GH game you mentioned. If playing the guitar part, it's nearly identical. Available on both PS4 and XB1, Rock Band 4 is a revival of the Rock Band series which had previously ended in 2010. Song selection is around 80 or so, and features an online presence to this day. The online functionality is a bit divisive, and I honestly can't put in my 2 cents as I don't own RB4 myself.
Those are the most modern options that I'm aware of for your GH Versus fix. Currently the online scene is a bit thinly spread for instrument-based rhythm games.
Id recommend watching for news on https://clonehero.net as online play is the next major feature to be integrated into the game as of time of posting.
Hope that helps!
"In other words I'm asking for help. I tried turning to Guitar hero live forums but it won't let me create an account or sogn in for some reason. I also tried to turn to Activision support but everytime I click on any link I get redirected to this page - https://www.callofduty.com/error?ErrorCode=27&ErrorDescription=Multiple+matching+contacts+found "
As stated before, I cannot get to any of Activisions support pages they all redirect me to there. I have tried on several computers, mobile, and different internet providers and always get that error. I don't get how I am supposed to get help if I can't get to anything.
first buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Trenro-Dual-PlayStation-Controller-Adapter-2/dp/B000F6BGXY
it should come with a mini dvd-r with drivers, one will make the whammy bar work.
then use a program called "antimicro" to map your guitar to key strokes.
antimicro download: https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro
IT tech here (seriously).
Looks like for whatever reason internet explorer is set as the default program for opening up the zip file. (which is incorrect as Internet explorer cannot open zip files as far as I'm aware)
If you haven't already, install 7zip from here: https://www.7-zip.org/
That's the correct program for unzipping the file.
If you've done that and you're still having trouble, instead of just trying to open the file, save it to somewhere you can easily find it (Your desktop or downloads folder or wherever), then right click on the file, hover over "7-zip" then click "extract files" or "extract here". That will extract the files and let you access the "clone here.exe" file.
Let me know how it goes
Depending on your chromebook type you might be able to run Clone Hero on it soon
All you'd need after that is a screen recorder and maybe a basic video editor. You still wouldn't be able to chart on it though.
Might be able to use something like this. used this semi successfully with other eletronics
Looks like this one is your best bet nowadays. I've used the official Microsoft one, but those are hard to come by nowadays, so this is likely the one to grab.
Yes, the raphnet will work for any wii guitar. This ELECOM adapter can also work, but you won't have whammy functionality, but it used to not work at all, so that's an improvement. Neither adapter have the tilt for starpower functionality, though. You will have to press select to activate starpower either way.
Yes, you need to buy a Xbox 360 wireless dongle for PC windows. The official adapter is discontinued, that one from Amazon below could work but a but tricky to install on windows 10 latest update. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076GZFLR3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_NCC91485PVBDZ4MP50RG
https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2 This is the original one but you could get a knockoff one for cheaper and it would still work. Also you'd need a keyboard because you need to press space to access the mapping menu.
Sadly the world tour guitar is the only one that uses unique strum switches, it uses microswitches. They are extremely easy to find, heres where I got mine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2A5L0G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_JZY3JHE50PG4WZFZXHQS Can confirm they work amazing and ive yet to have any problems with them. The original microswitches as I mentioned break very easily so Its A high chance youll need to replace them. The strumbar if you care feels different but certainly not bad, has a nice click to it.
This is the right dongle. You don't need the controller. But you might have to buy it. It looks kind of like a bundle.
Yes and Xbox 360 wireless dongle.
This is the right dongle but you don't need the controller.
Amazon is the only place that I can find the official one, and it’s price gouged up the wazoo link
If you're planning to play on PC, get an xbox guitar and then buy this (or something like this) https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Xbox/dp/B01JC68MHU/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Xbox+360+Wireless+Gaming+Receiver&qid=1615470765&sr=8-3
Any third party Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver should work.
Correct. You would need the Microsoft Xbox 360 adapter as seen here.
https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2
Wow that's expensive now. You're better off buying a wired Xplorer or wired Rockband 1 guitar if you can find one local. The Xbox adapter can have delay issues
I can't speak for other people, but I like my controllers wireless. So I just used my old Xbox 360 GH5 controller and bought a 360 to PC wireless receiver on Amazon for like 15-20 bucks.
Here's the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Xbox/dp/B01JC68MHU/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=xbox+360+to+pc+wireless+adapter&qid=1568267345&sprefix=xbox+360+to+pc+w&sr=8-5
The installation process is a little weird but if you do go about buying this dongle feel free to send me a message and I'll see if I can help.
As for actual guitars, just go into eBay or the Facebook marketplace is some other public store and see if any 360 guitar controllers that you like. They range from 30 to 200 bucks from my experience.
I have a link from a post on this sub a while ago, WT switch this should be exactly what you need
Here are the switches I used. They actually don't work super well as kill switches, but for start/select/menu etc...they work fine!

And I use Hdmi
Got them from Amazon here , but they are available on eBay last time I checked as well
You just need one of these. I found a US link but it kept trying to send me to the UK store so you can look for a cheaper one if $5 is more than you're willing to pay.
Long Amazon link incoming:
All wireless 360 guitars just need a 360 to pc receiver to work with clone hero. This one right here works great and is the one I have.
Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pXQ9DbSWV0PMP
Of course it's a bit pricey, but it doesn't have to be this exact one. You should be able to find a 3rd party one that works about as well, I only got this one cus it was used.
I use this with my red SG. I do not have any complaints other than I cannot use the whammy bar or tilt. For $10 its worth at least trying. As far as latency goes I do not have much of an issue, but I do not play competitively, I'm only average in an expert level, no crazy charts.
I've found a pretty good deal for a guitar, whole new one in the original packaging for 24 euros including shipping lovely deal.
Though i am quite sketched out about all of those receivers... i also found this one
think you could help?
You could pick up a multi-guitar stand, though the guitar sizing might pale in comparison to real ones..
Reminds me of a dream I had a couple of weeks ago of using Hercules wall mounts! But that's taking it too far... Right?
ps3 les Paul dongle. If you were into competitive, then you'll probably be disappointed with PS3 guitars on pc. You'll also need a third party program for mapping the buttons. As for downloading games, clone hero literally just needs you to download it and unzip it. Songs are just as easy to put into the game. GH3 requires external software and a lot more effort to get custom songs.
best advice I can give regarding getting Windows & Linux to co-exist on a machine together without messing up each-others partitions is to just get a seperate drive for each-- thankfully good SATA SSD's are getting pretty cheap nowadays, you can pick up a crucial MX500 500GB for only $68.
Either Xbox 360 (wired or with this reciever) or Wii with this adapter.
This adapter is known to work 100% with PS2 guitars. Other adapters will work for the most part, but you'll lose the ability to tilt for star power and use the whammy bar unless you use the adapter linked to.
Make sure you have the dongle that came with the guitar, otherwise you won't be able to use it. Plug it in with this adapter and you should have full functionality once you remap the controls.
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Toslink-Audio-Adapter-107526/dp/B00DILMFNS
Use that plus an rca to female 3.5mm headphone jack so you can plug them in. The only problem with this is you have no volume control. So you’ll need headphones that have volume control built in or plug the rcas into an amp such as the schiit audio headphone amp. Or just be like me and use it at the one volume it works at lol. It’s loudish but to too loud.
If you are having audio lag issues, this is a good fix. I also used an optical cable and ran it directly from the Xbox to my AV receiver and it helps significantly with audio lag in guitar hero games. Usually it goes hdmi->tv->AV so bypassing the tv really helped. Still use hdmi to send the video signal to the tv. But gh2 is still impossible without headphones for me.
Whoa! Right on! Thank you! The E-Drums sounds so cool, I'm not sure I'm ready to invest on a whole separate electric kit just yet. I thought I was gonna tinker with the toy set it came with. By any chance, do you know if there are any drum triggers I can apply to an acoustic drum set that can work with the midi controller you mentioned? Or if it can even work this way? Seems a little unorthodox but I also have an acoustic set laying around.
Clone hero recommend this one https://www.amazon.com/PS2-Playstation-Controller-Adapter-Converter-3/dp/B000NJBD90/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512502205&sr=8-3&keywords=hde+ps2+to+usb
on their controller spread sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xp5DR6Ih6YI-pi2Jzg3G8lWmnTZrKtxEls2jbx4Bw-Q/edit#gid=0
My guitar doesn't work at all, all i can do is tilt, but that's pretty much it, I've tried almost every script for the Les Paul, I'm assuming is probably because mine is a third party Les Paul for the Wii, I got it for $35 new In stock on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Color-Nintendo/dp/B004QSY97W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519627301&sr=8-1&keywords=guitar+hero+3+les+paul+wii
From what I've heard the xbox 360 one is the only one that works on computer right now. I'm pretty sure it would work since it doesn't have a specific button layout. But I can't confirm that it would work. The dongle on amazon rn is only $10 https://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-360-Dongle-Wireless-Receiver/dp/B073G8X648
Those specialized adapters are for PS3. This is what you need for 360 controller. Xbox xplorer guitar is wired and works just by plugging in the usb. Might also want to check out clone hero, it has all the guitar hero + rock band songs and lots of customs. It's the thing in gh community right now. Links in sidebar.
Then unfortunately there's likely nothing out there that I know of that won't take up a lot of space during play, aside from the tiny guitar Ukog tried back in August but I haven't seen that thing for sale anywhere.
EDIT: I found the guitar in the video. It isn't CH compatible though. https://www.amazon.com/Riff-Rocker-MINI-Guitar-Game-controller/dp/B001PFC5J8
Are the dongles 360 dongles? If not, you can't use the controllers. The 360 dongle works with the PS4 controllers, except only the 360 dongle works with Clone Hero.
If you wanna try the RB4 Strat you can still buy them new.
No prob man. I'm not 100% certain about wireless guitars since mine's wired, but I think any Bluetooth dongle will work. If you want to play it safe, the 360 adapter will be your best bet.
360 controllers are picked up by Windows automatically and have the correct mappings
any wired 360 controller is just plug and play, and wireless 360 controllers require the Microsoft 2.4GHz wireless adapter.
the PS3 controllers/dongles are incredibly crappy when it comes to latency.
I say just keep using the PS2 guitar. Buy one of these for $10 and use a program like Xpadder to make it work with GH.
If it's wireless you need this to connect it. There are other cheaper third party receivers but I can't vouch for their quality.
I would personally recommend the official XB1 RB4 Stratocaster made by Mad Catz. It has full driver support, and the proprietary microsoft XB1 dongle has less lag than any bluetooth adapter does with the PS4 tars.
Do not buy the PDP Jaguar if you're going to use it for Clone Hero or GH3PC-- it doesn't have full driver support, and you cannot update the firmware on it.

If you do go for a new wireless one try to go for a world tour guitar, if not, then a les Paul or gh5 possibly. Keep in mind if you get a wireless guitar you need an adapter, Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_RvEJzb7RGRJ3R
That guitar would indeed work on PC, you just need to be sure you have a breakaway cable since I couldn't see on that site if it did include one (https://www.amazon.com/HDE-Xbox-360-USB-Breakaway-Cable/dp/B0046RMJRU). That being said, it's a 360 guitar so it has guaranteed support on Windows as all 360 controllers do.
Going forward though, the amount of work necessary to really be able to play GH3PC is unnecessarily high and I would recommend Clone Hero instead since adding songs to it and getting it running on PC is vastly easier and much less of a pain.
Yep, I actually saw someone post asking the same question I had and I already have the game up and running, I just need a controller. . . I tried playing with my keyboard and that's not happening lol. Maybe if I had a way to disable strumming it would be a little easier but hitting the notes and trying to strum at the same time with a keyboard is difficult.
Edit: Do you mean this controller? Is this the only wired controller that will work?
If you'd rather go wireless, you can also get one of these and any Xbox360 guitar. It's probably more expensive if you don't already have a guitar laying around though.
Thanks I really appreciate you trying to help. It doesn't work though. What's weird is that running the script causes the wiimote to light up (not flash but stay lit up as player 1). It just doesn't do anything in game. What I think is happening is the script connects to the wiimote, but it gets stuck there and cannot recognize the guitar for some reason, even though it seems to work for everyone else... This is the remote: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Excluding-Nintendo/dp/B004XDCJ4A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475696961&sr=8-1&keywords=wii+guitar+controller
the game wasn't launching for me when i tried those settings. using 24 bit zbuffer with stencil would let the game launch though, and that helped a bit. there still seems to be some lag though.
but yeah it's a ps2 guitar! i use an adapter similar to this (i can't find the exact one i have). and i use JoyToKey to convert the button inputs into keystrokes.
