Fully uninstall whatever you downloaded and run your Anti-virus, I have no clue what you have downloaded but it is not actually CloneHero.
The actual game is downloaded from Clonehero.net, and the Sub's sidebar has links to multiple trusted sources for getting songs.
To answer your questions: if you have the disc, you need the guitar and the dongle to play. The guitar and dongle ARE console specific, so make sure you buy the correct piece of hardware. Batteries are standard AA.
Having said that, if I may make a recommendation: don't buy Guitar Hero Live.
I pre-ordered the game, and while it's fun and well made, the guitar is not and you're taking a decent gamble with the quality buying one from eBay or whatnot. More than that, the game has Guitar Hero TV as a selling point, which I'm sure you've seen. Activision has discontinued this service and even got sued for it. Guitar Hero TV was where the vast majority of the content of the game is, and without access to it, there isn't much of the game left.
However, if your younger brother really wants to play guitar hero, Clone Hero is a phenomenal alternative. It's a fan-made, actively updated version of guitar hero that makes adding custom songs super easy, and fans have already taken all of the charts from every Guitar Hero and Rockband game that's come out. Many consider this the definitive way to play Guitar Hero, and I am among those that do.
Having said that, Clone Hero is PC-only, but it would likely run on a laptop you may have lying around. Not only that, you had mentioned that online play was a concern, and while Clone Hero does support online play, I believe it is currently in closed beta, and he will not have access to it via the public build (I may be wrong about this though!)
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask! I've been playing Guitar Hero for a long time, and will likely be able to answer any questions you may have :)
I'd recommend to download Clone Hero (free community-made guitar hero clone) at https://clonehero.net/ and the charts for all the DLC are available online.
Edit: If you need someone to send you charts, just pm me.
Unfortunately the only ones I can think of on Xbox are Rockband 4, or the Avicii Invector game, which only requires a controller but is also only Avicii music. If you have an old Guitar Hero controller lying around and a computer you could also try out clone hero,, which is my personal favourite as you can import every Guitar Hero song and there are thousands of custom songs to download too! If you only have a computer I'd recommend Spin Rhythm, but like the Avicii game this is only if you enjoy EDM music.
If you want a ranking system, Etterna and Quaver are good choices, but there are a lot more Vertical Scrolling Rhythm Games (VSRG) out there. Sound Voltex (SDVX) clones are nice but you may or may not want an SDVX controller for it. Beatmania IIDX is also a good option, although it does require a subscription as far as I know. There's also Clone Hero, Project Heartbeat, FNF, etc. For mobile there's Lanota, Arcaea, Deemo, Cytus, and a million more.
I hate to break it to you, man, but GHTV got shut down in December 2018.
You can still play thoes songs using Clone Hero, there's a playlist of every GHTV song available with music videos if you can find it. (though, I will warn you, it is a massive file. I reccomend cherry-picking your favorites and adding them individually to save space.) You'll need an XBOX dongle for your guitar to connect, even if you have a PlayStation Guitar.
I'm super into it and that's how I've been feeling lately. So many people are absolutely insane and every time I feel like I'm progressing and getting a little bit closer to that top level, someone at that level does something even more insane.
If you want to get into it again, clone hero is free and awesome. People release custom songs all the time (I think I have around 4000 on my laptop right now) and there's been a few packs released that have charts for all difficulty levels. If you want to give it a shot I can answer any questions you may have!
If you are at all curious about Clone Hero, it's a free rhythm game akin to Guitar Hero. You can find it here. The chart itself can be found via my Google Drive.
Haha, right on. Yeah, check out Clone Hero for sure. You can DL it now and see what it's about with just a Keyboard or whatever if you don't have a Guitar Controller yet. I'd still play it if I had a Guitar Controller here...
I will say, if you ever get the chance to - give your friend's RockSmith a shot on Easy with a beginner song, you may end up liking the Guitar. On easy, it's basically like Guitar Hero where you mostly stick on one string and just move your fretting hand a little (like the Guitar Controller is set up).
> Trying to run it with ./ gives me 'permission denied' and trying to alter the file with chmod gives me 'operation not permitted'.
What exactly is "it" here? Exactly which file are you trying to run?
I have never heard of "Clone Hero"; googling finds this game, which is available for Linux as a tarball (i.e. a .tar.gz
file). Did you download that file? A .tar.gz
file is an archive, similar to a .zip
file. It needs to be extracted first. Did you extract it?
Not that much honestly, I play a bit of a rotation between Bandori (mobile), Project DIVA Future Tone (PS4), and Project DIVA F 2nd (PS Vita), but maybe two hours per week on average. Most of my free time I spend on anime or currently on FF14
There's a popular fan-made game called Clone Hero that's been very popular the last few years (they recently got 100k members on their Discord and were featured on GDQ!). Like the name implies, it's basically a Guitar Hero clone but only with guitar support currently. I'm a hobbyist drummer, so when they get drum support (which should come out soonish), I know what game I'll waste my time on
I used to play that a lot a few years ago.
I've moved on to Clone Hero now, they recently updated it to include online multiplayer :)
Able to play all the tracks from all the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games, along with custom songs.
It doesn't. I was just explaining to the user above how we can see past 200hz and why it's applicable in certain situations. For Clone Hero and pretty much any other rhythm game, you want the highest framerate possible because it reduces input time.
However, interestingly enough, Clone Hero is working around this problem to not have their game's input be framed based. You can read more about it here.
Pretty neat, thanks! Just some fair warnings and disclaimers from looking at the code:
Requirements:
* You will need 7zip installed specifically at C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe
if the versions downloaded are of the 7z
format
Caveats:
* It will only work for minor version increments, e.g. v0.22.4 to v0.22.5, not v0.22.4 to v0.23.0, or even v0.22.4 to v1.0-alpha for instance.
* It will overwrite your settings.ini
file on update, which you might not want to happen
* This relies exclusively on the dl.clonehero.net CDN and the naming used for the URLs. It won't work if a new version is published for instance on Google Drive or MEGA.
Suggestion: * There are actually some (undocumented for now) JSON endpoints to check for versions and latest version, if you want to use them instead of trying out dl.clonehero.net URLs: * https://clonehero.net/json/latest-version.json for the latest version * https://clonehero.net/json/versions.json for all downloadable versions
I love guitar hero myself and play it regularly. If you're interested in playing it more (with custom songs), I recommend checking out Clone Hero.
I also love Jak and Daxter! One of my all time favorites. If you're feeling up to it, I'd recommend trying to go for 100% as there is a secret ending if you do!
1) It's the Warriors of Rock guitar (WORtar)

2) The dongle for PS3 apparently look like this
3) I can't recommend any game on my part cause I dont know if all game were published for all consol like PS3 for you case, but my personal favorit is GH 5. Though I personally play them all on Clone Hero (PC "version" of guitar hero/rock band + custom sounds from the community) there is a subreddit of clone hero and a discord server too, even if you dont plan to play on PC I could recommend joining the server and ask in the help line channel for any help concerning the guitar
Gonna just quickly shoutout Clone Hero here for anyone interested - like the name implies, it's a PC-based clone of Guitar Hero that supports the original instruments if you happen to have them lying around. The public version only supports guitar/bass, but the beta version includes drums as well, and I believe full band support is on the roadmap once they start moving over to their new platform. If you don't want to dig into community-made songs, the entire list of songs from pretty much every Guitar Hero and Rock Band game plus DLC has been made available for Clone Hero (last I checked only RB4 was absent because it's still actively supported).
Much as I love Guitar Hero, they released them way too fast with way too little content for full-priced games. The numbered ones were great; I put a ton of hours into GH1, 2, 3, and eventually RB2, which is where I stopped getting them. But there were way too many spin-offs with more limited song lists, and with the speed they were cranking them out, I know I just stopped being able to keep up with them.
I'm kinda curious if it would have worked out better if they'd adopted the online model more quickly. Like if instead of putting out a ton of standalone products, they just focused on DLC.
Nice Party setup i also have this kind of setup hooked up on our main tv for when my little cousins and nephews/nieces come and live with us during the summer before covid. they used to play til early morning hours with all the games i set up in the unit, heres some game recommendations that we play.

I you played guitar hero/rockband growing up try setting up clone hero It's a free guitar hero clone for PC that you could put custom songs in.

Sorry for the long post.
As cool as this is, you would have an easier time just playing Clone Hero. Clone Hero has a native Linux version and is very easy to setup and add custom and official songs.
Most of the big name GH players have moved onto playing Clone Hero due to ease of use and better PC support.
You can download the Stable version (0.23.2.2) from their website, but it's pretty outdated and I'd personally recommend you try out the Public Test Build version on their Discord server.
The PTB builds have a lot more bug fixes, drum support, better online multiplayer, etc.
Clearly the rest of the comments haven't heard of Clone hero for PC. Give that a look into if your'e looking for a guitar hero type game. Its made by a bunch of people and personally Ive always loved the franchise since I was young kid, you can re-download any Guitar Hero or RockBand song sets thought Chorus or people Google Doc Lists. The people who developed this I applaud, its getting quite popular as I myself have moved from New World to an old childhood classic
If you are at all curious about Clone Hero, it's a free rhythm game akin to Guitar Hero. You can find it here.
The chart itself can be found via my Google Drive.
One can nab them on the Public Test Build, you can find a link to the CH Discord on their website, linked here, and then you can opt into the PTB, there you can get the clone hero launcher, and you’re pretty much good to go.
Little tip for anyone wanting it coming back, if you have a PC there's a fan made game that's free called "clone hero", it's got fanmade songs and song ripped steight from all the guitar hero games.
You can use any of the guitars/drums etc, the wireless ones just need a wireless xbox controller adapter. If you don't have them you can even use a keyboard to simulate it, it's amazing and feels just like the old games
Unfortunately it seems like you may end up having to find another guitar for use with clone hero, I have a feeling the jaguar guitars may not be supported anymore.
Click the 'join our discord' button, that should link you to it and then all you need to do is log in.
You need to wait 10 minutes first before you can post, just read the rules and you will understand.
https://clonehero.net/2021/03/30/disable-april-fools.html
> Unfortunately this year we are yet again not ready with a stable release with this disabled, so we’re writing this post to remind people about the main menu cheatcode to disable it.
> Some updates about v.24 while you’re here, we are very close. Expect more news over the next week or two about its release, and our setlist!
> -Matt
Agreed, and I think they do too now, it’s just that they haven’t released a new version in a long time to disable the feature. v.24 should come out soon though, which should take care of it for future years.
Not that I'm trying to 'toot my own horn', but depending on the hardware you have available Clone Hero may be the easiest setup for you. If you have an Xbox 360 or PS3 and no PC, you'll have to do with the console games. Clone Hero supports basically every controller you can throw at it, while the console games only let you use that platform's controllers on it. Plus, the DLC servers for all of the console games have long been shut down whereas CH you can import whatever you want into it easily.
Clone Hero Android port is the closest thing I can remember. It's not the latest release for that port, it doesn't have touch screen control so it's best if you just hookup your usb/BT keyboard to play. Can't recommend anything else especially the auto generate rhythm game because most of them suck.
>Another guitar hero needs to come out
absolutely not. Activision does not have the interests of the GH community at heart. https://clonehero.net/ if you want to play GH made by people who actually care
2 and 3 were my favorites. However, I feel like I should mention, there's a fanmade PC version of guitar hero with loads of features and stuff called Clone Hero. If you have an old guitar hero controller that connects via usb, or buy an adapter for one, you can play all your old favorite guitar hero songs on your computer. Additionally, there are tons of newer custom songs made by community members you can download and play as well. I'd strongly recommend it, it's free and runs on nearly anything.
I have no idea what the state of ARM builds are for this game, there is a very good chance that CloneHero straight up wont run on a Pi for architecture reasons. The closest thing I can find is 22.5s android release, but android on the Pi is far from being ready for release, and there hasn't been any more CloneHero android builds since then.
If you want a computer for just clone hero, you need something with an x86 processor. Any machine built in the last 15 years with any kind of dedicated graphics card would be fast enough, I've ran CloneHero on a core2 duo and gt 520 with no problems. A small form factor mini PC like an Intel NUC or Asrock Deskmini would go anywhere and be more than powerful enough if you want to buy something new (frankly these are overpowered for just CloneHero, but if you are building a CloneHero machine/HTPC you might also want to do other things on it.)
Maybe also check out the Intel compute sticks. There's a few posts on this sub about them running the game alright.
Did you actually download the game?
You download an archive, extract it and then run the application.
Putting sudo in front of the command such as sudo clonehero will not do anything.
You double click it and the game launches, at least it does on Ubuntu, I'm not sure it will on Debian.
Or as I recommended use Lutris.
Also
"but I am a baby who just copies what they see but has actually no idea what any of it means
For more elaboration, I'm basically the equivalent of taking a random person off of the street and forcing them to use a Linux terminal to fix a problem when they don't even know the difference between a shell and a terminal"
This does not really sound to me like someone who should be using Debian, Ubuntu is a much better choice.
Your best bet is to install it and try it !
If I remember correctly, 2 songs are installed with the game so you can see if your machine is capable of running it smoothly.
Clone Hero is a community made game that is a perfectly made barebones version. There are literally tens of thousands of high quality community and officially made songs to download and play in the game. The Clone Hero community is super active on twitch and they've just started their competitive league. Check out the Clone Hero category on twitch!
I found links in your comment that were not hyperlinked:
I did the honors for you.
^delete ^| ^information ^| ^<3
I think it'll stick around. Clone Hero got it's own directory, and the main dev applied for ownership of the twitch category and got it
It's it own program which can be found here. the community is great and their discord has a great FAQ to get you going on setting up and playing. My song folder along is almost 400gb with almost 4000songs from across all games and custom tracks. You can even play multiplayer!
Guitar Hero and it's spinoffs; I was only okay at it, mostly stuck on Medium difficulty, but it was tons of fun. But since my 360 died years ago, I'm currently using Clone Hero to do it, which is basically a freeware clone that you can import all the songs into. Here's a link to it if anyone cares.
https://clonehero.net/releases/v0.22.5/ Click "Can't find your operating system?" and select the Android Download. v0.22.5 is the latest Android release since there isn't a v0.23+ Android release yet.
Hey! I'll try to answer some of your questions.
Since you are referring to our next project as Project Note Hitter, I'm assuming you aren't very updated on said project. We announced the name in our pre v.23 devblog; the next game will be called StrikeLine.
We are currently working on the very LAST Clone Hero version, the v.24, which will feature drums (pro drums included), a better online system and a bunch of other QoL changes, after this version is finished and released, we will be focusing at 100% to StrikeLine. We are also doing Public Test Builds of v.24 in our discord, you can join and be a tester for the v.24 PTB (Public Test Builds), remember these are test builds and are expected to have bugs, in which you can test the new drums mode and, recently, the pro drums addition, if you are interested, of course.
As for updates, we agree we haven't really updated officialy as in devblogs or official statements, but we are (myself included) very very active in our discord, constantly chatting with our members/players and answering all the questions we can about SL, telling how we will be doing things with SL, it's features, everything we can; and also taking suggestions while doing so! Also our lead dev, Matt, frequently streams CH development in his Twitch channel.
The very last thing, actually there are some members of the dev team currently working on SL, Ahriana is working on a better launcher not only for CH (CH public test builds uses our own launcher made by her) but for StrikeLine also, and E2 (another dev team member) is currently working on SL's architecture (or something like that, being honest I can barely explain what he is doing since it's very technical).
Hope this answers your questions!
Its not quite as fancy and shiny, and doesn't have any real multiplayer (there is an option for direct connecting to people via IP address), but its free and really good. Would be awesome if they open-sourced it, and someone could get some kind of vs and coop multiplayer working. Maybe some kind of lobby system.
you might find a copy at gamestop whenever it opens up. do you have a pc? you should play clone hero. it's a free guitar hero-like game for pc, and you can download all the official Guitar Hero/Rock Band games for free. all you'd need is a guitar controller
Guitar Hero and Rock Band have a very solid community that has kept themselves active through their bootleg community made game Clone Hero thats free to play. They use it for streaming content and custom songs that were never on original games and record breaking attempts. My brother js oretty active on there and they do lots of cool stuff. I don't want these games back in my life because he was so good and so obsessed that the sound of plastic cracking loudly gives me PTSD but it's really cool for what it is and a fans solution after Activision flooded the market and tanked the franchise.
It’s compatible with MacOS: https://clonehero.net/releases/v0.23.2.2/
Try it and see how it goes. If you do have issues with driver support for guitars or stuff like that it’s good to know you could also try Windows 10 via Bootcamp. Either way, you will be able to play it, that’s for sure!
In addition to what's been suggested, if your primary concern is gameplay rather than the feel of Guitar Hero, I'd recommend considering Clone Hero (for PC/Mac) as well. You can download on-disc songs that have been ripped for it, as well as thousands of custom songs. In addition, if you were interested in GHL's six-fret guitar, you can download all of GHTV to use with Clone Hero as well.
You can find more info at /r/CloneHero and clonehero.net, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
The game is a free fan made PC clone called Clone Hero
As for guitars, if you haven't already got one, you'd have to look around thrift stores, online marketplaces, etc and hope there's something decently priced you can get.
If you’re looking to play guitar hero on modern devices check out Clone Hero. It’s a fan made version of guitar hero / rock band.
It’s also completely free and can run on most Windows/Mac/Linux machines.
Clone Hero’s Website A good overview of clone hero Setup controller
Frets On Fire has all but been replaced by Clone Hero. You can download the game and charts for songs here: https://clonehero.net/
If you look around on the site, you can find every song on GH and RB from back in the day.
If you actually want to play on PC, r/CloneHero and https://clonehero.net/ might be a good place to check out. Not Rock Band 4, obviously, but it IS for PC, and as of a couple days ago, the beta supports drums - join their Discord for beta. I've glanced around, and it looks like there's a whole bunch songs charted. I'm not sure if you have to provide your own music to go along with the charts or not. Seems to have a decent population based on Discord, etc.
That's about all I know, I haven't tried it. I'm just always on the look out for options to continue playing this type of game in case my $40 (now $600) wired drum adapter breaks.
Clone Hero (/r/clonehero) is fantastic for guitar! It will have drum support very soon, but it's not out just yet.
If you want a literal Guitar Hero game, GH3 and GHWT both have official PC versions as well. There are also various tools for GH3 to allow easy importing of customs, modding, etc.
If you're looking for a streamlined experience, custom songs, and a rock solid program, I'd recommend looking into Clone Hero (/r/CloneHero).
If you want to play the actual games, you'll want to use your PS3. The only games for PS4 are GHLive (which is now only good for the 42 on-disc songs) and Rock Band 4 (which is great, but it sounds like you're asking about Guitar Hero). Here's a list of all Guitar Hero games for reference.
Clone Hero It's literally Guitar Hero, but on PC. You can play on keyboard, or plug an Xbox guitar in, or use a special adapter for Wii guitars. But don't use PS guitars, as they don't work properly on PC. There are what seems like unlimited amounts of songs you can download, both directly from the old games, or custom songs charted by the community. It has an amazing community, and everyone is willing to help if you have problems with setting your game up.
And the best part, it's completely free. You can download it here: https://clonehero.net/
After finally downloading the Crystal Kingdom OST (which, tied with Journey's End, is my favorite TAZ album), I was listening to this song and decided that I should try my hand at Clone Hero (a really, really good fan reboot of the Guitar Hero games found here) charting again.
So, here it is: Oh Hey, It's Hodge Podge, now playable on your nearest plastic instrument. The chart download is in the YouTube video description.
Guitar hero is a AAA game meaning it's made by a big publisher for a wide audience, so everything is simplified so anyone can play it. Clone hero is more for people who are into rhythm games, I think they make money through donations or something. Here's their website
Vsync will lock your fps to your monitor. So for most people, it will cap the game at 60fps or 144fps. The higher the frame rate, the larger the input rate as well since the game is tied to fps. That's why it's actually an advantage to have higher fps in rhythm games (except since polling rate caps out at 1000hz, 1000 inputs per second is the max. Anything higher than 1000fps won't make a difference, but you'd be hard press to notice anything past 500fps unless you're very nitpicky)
ExileLord talks about it in this article and had a neat video demonstration of 10 vs 60 fps. In short, 10 fps only allows for 10 inputs per second while 60fps allows for more frames to have inputs.
It's a community built guitar hero clone for PC, you can import songs from all previous guitar hero and rock band games, the engine is really forgiving and easy to use, and there's a whole bunch of custom songs, with new themed song packs released monthly! And it's all FREE! Check out their website and join the discord to find out more :)
Ohh. This is not GHL, this is Clone Hero. Community made Guitar Hero clone that supports both 5 and 6 fret. You can download Clone Hero from their website and find a bunch of customs songs in Clone Hero and 6 fret community discord servers.
Need a guitar hero controller, and a PC download Clone Hero Then you can go Here to get songs. and drop them in the songs folder where clone hero is installed
As always, the newest update is available at https://clonehero.net/
The upgrade to v.23 is now here, with a UI overhaul and now with online multiplayer, as well as a direct collab with the band DragonForce, from their newly released Extreme Power Metal album.
Updating the game from earlier versions will force a rescan, existing scores will not be affected.
Online multiplayer can be accessed through the settings.ini, the host's settings are what the session will use:
songsperplayer = (# of songs each player can choose) clientscanremove = (if 1, then every player can remove songs from the playlist) maxspeed = (maximum speed modifier # each player can choose for their song) lowspeed = (minimum speed modifier # each player can choose for their song) connectIP = (IPv4 address of the game's host, Hamachi and VPN IP addresses will work for this) connectport = (forwarded port for players to connect to, any port will work as long as it's forwarded)
"connectIP" and "connectport" are the only values that need to be changed for joining players.
In the online menu, all players must have the same songs in order to select them to play, in terms of notes.chart/mid. Choosing songs will create a playlist, and the host can choose to play the playlist once all songs have been chosen. Only share your IP address with people you are comfortable sharing it with, and again, VPNs to mask your IP and Hamachi will work as alternatives. If you're planning on hosting, you'll need access to your router and should know how port forwarding works. Future versions of online will be more user-intuitive.
The new release song is a collaboration with DragonForce to get one of their songs on the official Clone Hero and Strikeline setlists, Troopers of the Stars. The chart is a decent challenge for anybody familiar with DragonForce, and has full difficulty 5-lane and 6-fret guitar parts available.
The source is actually a blog for Clone Hero. One of the mods on the subreddit here said that there was a "secret" hidden in the blog, so I went to find it. I couldn't find anything about what the Morse code meant, so I attempted to translate it myself
https://clonehero.net/2019/09/26/calm-before-the-storm.html https://streamable.com/81e7a
Ooh, speaking of guitar hero, someone made a modern version of that too:
You do need a way to hook up a guitar controller to a PC (or just a wired one), but it's really easy to add custom songs and has some other nice features. 2007 really was the best year for video games and everything after that was a mistake 😕
GH love is technically the most recent release, but it recently had one of its best features: GHTV taken down.
If Versus is your cup of tea, you have two routes, depending on if you want online or not.
Local only: Clone Hero. This is a PC game that let's you play essentially every guitar hero song ever released. Songs are made and distributed by the community, so it takes a bit of effort to set up. That said, it has the absolute most songs by far, and has a basic, no-frills 'Pro Face Off' style versus mode, that is (as of the time I'm posting this) restricted to local play. It's also my pick for the best solo experience.
Online: Rock Band 4 I believe this is the not-quite-GH game you mentioned. If playing the guitar part, it's nearly identical. Available on both PS4 and XB1, Rock Band 4 is a revival of the Rock Band series which had previously ended in 2010. Song selection is around 80 or so, and features an online presence to this day. The online functionality is a bit divisive, and I honestly can't put in my 2 cents as I don't own RB4 myself.
Those are the most modern options that I'm aware of for your GH Versus fix. Currently the online scene is a bit thinly spread for instrument-based rhythm games.
Id recommend watching for news on https://clonehero.net as online play is the next major feature to be integrated into the game as of time of posting.
Hope that helps!
Yes I do, actually, since it's a rhythm game that bases input off of framerate. Here's a blog post by one of the developers that explains it in the first few paragraphs.
1000 is admittedly a little overkill since I'm not playing anything too crazy, 500 is still largely beneficial.
Besides the point, it's worth mentioning I've gotten the same issue in the past with Warframe, another GPU-heavy game I run with an uncapped framerate, so it's more a problem of the card/driver and/or me overworking it than anything. Clone Hero also doesn't crash, as indicated by the logs I dig up.
I would suggest Clone Hero, as I've seen that song as a custom.
Just download the game for free and then look up for Kokomo in this database of usermade songs.
It was just a Google image with a black background, did some fancy Photoshop magic on it. The logo on https://clonehero.net/ is a transparent PNG however, so you can probably just use that?
> This is a brand new clean installation of Win10 with no manufacturer provided bloatware, etc. so all the drivers for everything are up-to-date as far as I know
As far as you know? Have you checked from Geforce Experience or Nvidia's website if your GPU drivers are up to date?
>Also, do you know where I can get v.21.6 now?
Theres a free and better version called clone hero that is 10x better (if youve seen any of the recent viral gh videos, they've been using that)
Depending on what platform you bought the game for you could be able to use your controller on PC with the game.
Rock band 2 DLC support ended a couple of years ago so i tried to do what you want. This are the broad steps i used:
I think at one point i had issues with my game file, but i don't remember what i did there.
Either way, a better solution is just to get Clone Hero, which you can play with your wii guitar and a bluetooth dongle.
If playing videos at all causes your CH to crash, Mod Charts are gonna be a problem, sadly.
It could be down to several things so a process of elimination might be required;
Some things to try are:
Check your CH video settings - does lowering some/all settings help?
Update your Graphics Card drivers
Is antivirus software causing an issue?
Check the CH Website for the latest build (https://clonehero.net)
Is Windows up-to-date?
Is your system capable of running CH optimally?
CH is still technically in Alpha testing so bugs and crashes will happen.
A good place to start with any CH related stuff is their Discord server (https://discord.gg/zd6JEn2)
Hope this is of some help. ;)
