Some words from the artist regarding this piece:
Rusałka is a slavic female demon usually appearing around lakes, ponds or rivers. She deceives men and drowns them. I wanted to show her as a dead corpse that uses a charm, so that she looks like a pretty woman when out of the water.
I've had some voices wondering about the swastikas on the rims of the guys shirt. So to make it clear. I have no connotations with any extreme right wing parties nor do I keep any nazi or racist oriented beliefs. Swastika has been used for hundreds of years in Poland, before Hitler stole it and spoilt it for everyone. The action of the image takes place in 9th or 10th century. If you want to know more about swastikas just wiki it. There is a really broad and interesting article written about it.
I think this qualifies as a mindscape. Saw this on /r/Minecraft and I figured you guys would like it. Page on which I found the original.
If you support him on Patreon, you can have access to wallpaper-sized versions of all of the Angelarium pieces :)
I think $5 backers have access to the wallpapers.

About this image, the artist says, "What if the British Empire didn't collapse after WW2 but spread to the whole world and beyond..?"
I like it because it conjures up feelings of ominous danger. At least to me. But then you see that couple in the far-left of the image, just sitting there, casually taking in the whole scene with no hint of alarm or care, suddenly the whole pic takes a different turn. It's analogous to how technology can, with familiarity, lead to a kind of shrugging acceptance rather than trepidation.
I'm working on new header art for this subreddit. It'll be multiple images instead of one. If you have any favourites that you've seen in this subreddit, please share those URLs or send me a PM.

Some Words from the artist about his project:
> I have always believed that the science and art can be used for a larger social purpose. As a creative person, this gives me more satisfaction.
> Yin Yang is a result of the same kind of belief and thought process. Everyday natural disasters and environmental hazards triggered the observation that the state of environment is imbalanced. Hence the idea – “Bring back the balance” was born. To visually depict it, I used the popular Chinese symbol “Yin Yang”. The symbol describes the state of balance between two opposites with a little bit in each. I wanted to explore this irony that exists between the symbol and the present state of environment.
> It was quite a time consuming campaign. Before starting off, I invested a lot of time in doing research regarding the factors, causes and reasons behind different kinds of environmental pollutions. It was followed by a number of sittings with the illustrators in my team to finalize the style and scale of detail of the artworks. The rough sketches were done for more than a month by me and 2 illustrators. The original illustrations were hand drawn on wall sized sheets. I tried for as much detail and reality as possible. The illustrations were then painted with watercolors, photographed and digitalized. The last leg of the campaign involved the laborious task of retouching. It was pretty challenging to keep the synergy of earth colors (green and blue) intact while bringing forth the black and white of Yin Yang in the artwork, at the same time. It took the team more than 6 months to draw & paint and 3 months to retouch the whole project keeping in mind every single object in it. Now, here is the final result in front of you and it seems now the effort was worth all the time.
Reminded me of this short story by Italo Calvino, which features on this amazing radiolab show.
"After the fall of Izumo city, young Ko main sat on the animal head, staring up at the foot of the ruins. These ruins used to be Club main childhood playground. "-The crusade army clerk Anon Here the 40th day after the fall of Izumo city, Cys defenders in fierce street battles with the secret army in the city, with heavy loss, and Cys Rong Wei almost annihilated".

I started with this photo of the Spiral Oddessy sculpture by Richard Hunt installed earlier this year at Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte, NC. I processed the photo with Adobe Camera Raw and then cropped out the background and then replaced it with a Gaussian noise function. I then used Photoshop's liquefy and edge detect filters on the background and foreground, respectively.
Hmm I use multimedia card for pretty much everything

I was looking at a strathmore toned sketchbook as a Christmas present to myself
Both good choices! And I’m not going to lie the Arches stuff is pretty much as expensive as it gets, but it does have a rough texture on one side and a slightly smoother one on the other. It’s also a little stiffer than card stock.

Really good. I read a book War of AI. It had amazing graphics like this. I love illustrations, they expand our horizon. Sci-fi is love. Dune by Frank Herbet is so so good. I recommend exploring science fiction genre!

Seems to be available on Kindle unlimited but there's no reviews.
Personally i got one of these used for about £50 which is almost as cheap as it gets (~$77)
You can get cheaper with a brand like Trust, but they're awful. Wacom are THE tablet company and they're great at it, anything with their name on it will do.
The main thing that more money gets you is usable size - the tablet above has about the same useful area as a small notepad, which is still enough but you'll find things tend to get expensive quickly if you want more room.
In terms of where to get them: Used - Ebay or a local electronics re-seller may have something. New - Amazon is always good, they often do sales at conventions like Comicon or MCM which will would be worth keeping an eye out for if there's one nearby. Personally I'm based in the UK, I'm guessing from timezone you're in the US? If so can't say i'm too sure.
