It's fascinating to see how these individual concepts have merged to create what we have today.

More here. It's hard not to be excited for Kenshi's future when this creative showcase is their starting point!
The map had a complete overhaul a few years back and is no longer a dune desert, it has rivers and swamps and such now. The game is updated quite frequently, you can check the changelogs on the website.
There is no release date for Kenshi 2 as of yet.
The game has been in development since about August of 2019, so it's coming up on two years in a couple months. You can read blog posts about Kenshi 2 on Lofi Games' website. https://lofigames.com/
There is no Co-Op mod for Kenshi 1, and there hasn't been any mention of it for Kenshi 2. It's not impossible it will come though.
If you want to know more about Kenshi 2 development, check the "Answers from the Devs" channel on their official discord (link below)
Honestly the lore is very confusing on Hivers,
"Apart from their queen, they are all sexless, they have no concept of he, she, or even ‘I’ for that matter, since they work as a collective with no individual needs or aspirations. Hivers hatch from eggs, the only member of society able to reproduce is the queen via parthenogenesis. New queens can be made by having the queen’s eggs fertilized by another hiver."
So the Princess in theory could exist but she'd likely be unable to reproduce sexually, but would reproduce asexually. Honestly I think the males are actually Crimpers, as it'd make sense the King would reproduce with the Queen, and unlike Hive princes they're both skeletons. Also I hypothesize the King Crimper of the Western Hive died, and that's why the Queen there is going mad, being incoherent, as she is unable to produce any more queens.
A princess could be used to produce pheromones and keep more distant Hivers from going mad so if there would be a princess she'd likely be in the two western hive villages called the distant hive villages.
One of the new updates that's currently in the experimental build stops slavers from stealing player prisoners, I think.
Edit: yep, it's in the patch notes for version 0.98.39 - https://lofigames.com/0-98-38-out-now/
It should go to the normal build soonish if you don't want to switch (experimental has bugs sometimes)
Consider hopping into the community discord and asking #modding-blender - They'll be able to set you up much better than I can with my rudimentary knowledge from making a simple pegleg one time.
Modelling races itself, you'd be looking into blender or another modelling program, and then giving it a skeleton & body texture. https://www.blender.org/ From there, you'd be creating a mod file in the FCS, a race entry, assigning the skeleton and .mesh and texture file within it, and setting up new NPC spawns that use that race and a player race if you wanted it to be used yourself.
It's a water supply well. According to the old concept art.

Might be possible in Kenshi's engine, since interiors seem to have their own navmesh that ignores the exterior terrain. Squin and the top left Hive village have structures built into cliff walls, for example. I didn't see any entrances like that in this area though.
The developers probably don't want the kind of "dungeons" other RPGs often have, but I hope we get some underground bunker structures at least. That'd be cool to explore. Might be something for me to mod once I figure out structure meshes :p
> I always wanted to play Morrowind with my buddies.
There's a mod for that if you weren't aware. I saw a streamer playing it a week or two ago and it seemed pretty fleshed out.
its closed now, it was opened few weeks ago...
they even twetted about it
they did not said you must be native british just able to relocate there or near
"it is the church and the church alone"
Semi-correct, it is the first male born after the death of the Pheonix that becomes the next Pheonix,
"Phoenix LXII, blessed be his name, is the leader of the Holy Nation, the 62nd Phoenix in an ancient lineage of reincarnated Lawgivers. The Lawgiver is said to be the messenger of Okran, the chosen saviour who once unshackled men from a savage life to a holy purpose under the law of god. On Phoenix I’s deathbed he announced that he would be reborn again into the body of the next first born male, and his descendants have directly enforced ‘Okran’s will’ ever since" - (official game lore) https://lofigames.com/ja/lore-of-kenshi-1-the-holy-nation/
A 3D modeling artist you say?
As it just so happens, I know of something that might be of interest to you:
I'm not sure if you used 3D Studio Max for that, but it certainly looks pretty good, might be worth contacting them.
This comment made me kind of angry (not at you, just generally) but tbh this game is sort of a oneman dream (his dream) and he got a lot of sales out of it, it probably isnt ending up with exactly everything in mind, but I genuinely believe that the game is going to be released at a decent state considering the circumstances (a dev team of like, 4 people including a the lore writer).
The biggest reason why I don't think he is rushing it out, is that the dev team https://lofigames.com/about/about-us/ is seemingly just him and his friends/family. I doubt a team like that could properly move on to start a completely new game at such a small team. (because solo coding/creating a game is one thing and then adding on a few people, but starting a completely new game? Tbh if anything the new project would have them more burned out than what theyre doing now).
That said I think some parts of this game are definitely just not likely to get fixed, pathfinding is always a game killer in these large games generally, optimization is almost always an issue with large scale games like this as well, and most people might agree that efforts should probably be rather put on other things considering how hard optimization is to fix, could take anything from 2 months to 2 years to fix for a single/two programmers, and they probably dont even know themselves.
Your system needs to be 64 bit for one thing. And it's quite processor intensive. But I think the other comment is the best suggestion, but it on steam and refund it if it doesn't work. Or download the demo and try it that way.
I bought this guy originally for (1) work (2) factorio (3) overwatch.
It's an excellent laptop, and I even bought the same exact one when my first one burned up in a car fire (car failure, not laptop failure).
Since then, I've had no complaints whatsoever. It runs Kenshi fine. You won't be able to do much in the way of AAA gaming, but then again the only recent AAA games I've played is Doom 2016 and X4, so your mileage may vary.
It runs Dwarf Fortress, Kenshi, Rimworld, Factorio, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Path of Exile, and the other blizzard titles fine, though not always at max graphics. Also, 12 hour battery life is not an exaggeration (close to two years after re-purchase) if you're just doing microsoft word or something. I get about 1.5-2 hours Kenshi off a battery charge, and about 2.5-3 of Factorio.
That being said, you're better off building a PC if you wanna get bang for buck. I've got a much nicer PC that I built for ~800$. I wanted a laptop because it was gonna be for work and easy transport was necessary. Haven't looked back since.
Well get a good SSD right now, and when you buy your new computer just pop it in as a gaming drive.

On the one hand I understand why people want to put all their eggs in one basket with Steam, on the other hand Daddy Epic has given me a lot, like A LOT, of decent quality free games over the last few months. Last week six Batman games, this week "Everything" (indie game where you can control many aspects of a procedurally generated universe) and "Metro 2033 Redux" which is Stalker for people who thought Stalker was too cheery.
And I have the launcher set to not open automatically so I literally have no need to think about it unless I'm actually playing a game on it. What's to keep track of?
Also, when you look at the Epic game store it's kinda nice to see a curated list of proven quality games (like you'll also see on Humble and GOG) and not the haphazard, teetering pile of crusty crap that passes for Steam's quality control. If I'm jonesing for a zombie narwhal dating/racing game I'll probably only find it on Steam (or itch io) but that hasn't cropped up yet.
Steam having competition is a good thing.
Disclaimer: I religiously grab the free games off Epic every week but have yet to actually play any. Meanwhile I approach 2000 hours in Kenshi...
Here you go, made specially for you: https://files.fm/f/mu3s67225
Un-rar it in to your "mods" directory.
Start is called "Four Wanderers". Check the description ;)
If you have problem downloading or installing, let me know.
Happy New Year.
You bet! I've build bases and bases over and over and along these same lines it gets better each time. Here is a screenshot. The only thing I have done differently this time is to add next to the kitchen building (stoves and medibench with tech and electronics on roof) a small shack for arrow and crossbow production.
Another tip is to put a corpse incinerator just outside the gate and have your iron-picking tanks haul bodies to it so they are almost always patrolling as near the gate as possible and it also trains their strength.
Iron on the left, stone copper and farms on the right. Also there's no need to build your wind generators inside the walls.
Thank you for using our platform. It is really great to hear that.
If you're happy with shopping and you have a free moment, we'd be super glad if you dropped by and gave us a rating on Trustpilot - (just like Mario we are collecting stars). If not, please share with me any feedback you might have to improve the quality of your shopping.
Thank you for your time, best!
There are some mods that make wandering recruitable squads ( i.e. https://tinyurl.com/ycmbc2tr ) There is also the recruitable prisoners mod ( https://tinyurl.com/ydgv68bu ) You can go to towns that have slavers and buy slaves.
Myself I like the recruitable prisoners mod. In the kenshi world capturing bandits and giving them a place in my gang makes perfect sense. But it does make the game really easy because you can recruit up to the limit pretty fast in most areas.
Ok here goes.
Please for the love of the Okran/Narko duality learn to take screenshots or use the snipping tool that comes with Windows.
There are also other options with more features and QoL stuff like ShareX and Puush.
Any of these options will let you post good pictures that will get you more upvotes *wink wink*.
Basically everything we know is on that blog. Some concept art, some wildlife, some new build mode tricks, a promise K2 will release before the heat death of the universe.
Looking through my hard drive I found this model I did about a year ago to practice my modelling and sculpting skills in Blender.
Bowsing the Gallery tab of the Kenshi web page ( https://lofigames.com/gallery/ ) I found a drawing of a beast that I think never got into the game (at least I don't remember seeing it).
Anyway I thought I could share it with you
About that: https://lofigames.com/lore-of-kenshi-2-the-hive-people/
“New queens can be made by having the queen’s eggs fertilized by another hiver.”
I just kinda assume we don’t see it in game, like kids for example. Although I’m sure it could be considered semi-canon, since bug juice is mentioned here but doesn’t exist in game.
according to this post, they’re all sexless except for the Queen, though regular hivers can fertilize the eggs laid by the Queen to make another Queen. aside from that, they all hatch out of unfertilized eggs laid by the Queen. they also have no cultural concept of gender because they have no concept of an individual self https://lofigames.com/lore-of-kenshi-2-the-hive-people/
EDIT: I misread something and corrected it
Well, we're talking about a dystopian world here, so really, anything is possible at this point, would be the least speculative answer lmao however, to go in depth on this:
If we look at the skeleton model we see no components exposed, except for the arms, that seem rather frail, which, I think is the current "factory design" of the skeletons as MK1 Log-Head P4 Units, Screamers and Regoular skeletons, seem to have the same design, only an head change to fit a proper purpose, with, an apparent MK2 upgrade.
About the arms looking frail I think it's the game that doesn't do the same impact as their concept art (you can find them here) thus the game being a bit misleading on rendering the idea of a skeleton.
I do think that what they look like now, is an already armored skeleton, their ability to wear armor would fit as maybe in the old empire, skeletons had designated armors for themselves for extra chassis protection:
Giving more into this, skeletons were basically machines built for many purposes, from war to simple labour, to assassin units, they had to be versatile and cost effective on the long run, and this design might have been the most cost-effective, given that they had to create litterally iron giants, create iron spiders, weapons, armors, and so on, whoever was "they" that created the skeletons in the first place, (presumed humans) had to think on how to invest their resources.
However, I do find your theory rather intresting, it could be that skeletons lost some pieces during time!
Dude nice! Thanks for this. I haven't messed with any mods yet, these all look like they adhere to the established art style and integrate well, love it
are there any for the hiver heads though? I don't know if that concept art show sup in the loading screens, but they look dope on the website

https://lofigames.com/update-0-98-34-out-now/
As of this patch, apparently.
The internet is vague on this point. Some folks say it works but not in Vain where the rain is red, others say it doesn't work at all.
It's somewhat difficult to test on account of needing to haul a bunch of resources out to the middle of nowhere, build an outpost, and defend it while you wait for the rain, so I'm not 100% sure yet.
I will be conducting a test shortly in Royal Valley, as I've decided to recruit a bunch of garru and head on out there to build a small outpost on the southern queen's doorstep, will let you know once I've got data - really hoping it works, as food runs get somewhat complicated by those damned hivers given that they can run like 24 mph.
I think you're more or less right. Kittie Lee might have gone mad as much from isolation and being at a loss about what to do when his empire crumbled. Timmy Punchman on the other hand decided to stay active and engaged with humans (and shekmans and bugmans) with a strong motivation to make the world a better place and belief that they could do better if he showed the good ones an example and punched the bad ones really hard. I've enjoyed a lot of fiction involving the psychology of immortals and am probably reading too much into this, but feel like whoever wrote these two might've done so too.
Also, our idea of how old people behave is based significantly on culture and changes to hormones levels/brain chemistry. Tinfist isn't really effected by either of these and can probably act however he wants to, which is probably a mix of his genuine compassion and a calculated persona to grow his legend. We know something happens to the minds of very old Skellingtons, but not if it's in any way comparable to humans getting old and might be mostly avoidable by staying socially active and maintaining focused on a long term goal.
This topic really fascinates me and I hope to one day get a chance to discuss it with whoever wrote these characters, not least because AFAIK it was the main dev's sister and she's mad cute.
Thank you for taking the time to reply sir. I have replied below to your comments.
>This is the official statement regard providing a platform for selling keys purchased with stolen credit cards? Stealing credit cards is hard? Really?
I tell you what my fine friend, I would kindly ask you to devote some in testing our security system. You can go as ham as you want with it.
If you believe it is not difficult to both obtain a stolen card and then try and do some fraudulent transactions with said credit card on the marketplace, please go ahead.
I will tell you why it may be difficult for you though..
We have two security procedures. The first one is easier (impossible to trick, though), as it gives you the possibility to sell up to 1000 euro. If you want to sell more, then we would require everything from precise personal information to what flavour ice-cream is your favorite.
> While you were busy astroturfing you probably didn't do research to realize that this subreddit is dedicated to a game that does support purchases directly from the developer, so chargebacks would hurt them.
I am fully aware of the game as I have it on my steam account. I am intrigued though, where can you buy it directly from the developer? i bought it on steam through their website. In this case it would be steam that loses money because it was bought from the steam store. If it was obtained from Humble Bundle it would be HB that would lose out.
I am eagerly awaiting your response. I will be astroturfing if you need me.
Chris, founder of the game wrote a blog telling what he thought about quest in game. You can read it here.
But actually there are quests in game. Spoiler alert! >!The only one that I know is quest with the Hounds faction.!<
Also, bounty hunting is kind of quest if you want.
Check out a few videos on YouTube. SsethTzeentach's video is both hilarious and quite informative.
Also they have demo on their website: https://lofigames.com/ (don't know if they actually updated their demo since release)
Kenshi 2 won't come until at least a few more years (better not be another decade though).
And for me, I bought it during beta and felt I underpaid due to the amount of hours this game is still giving me.
> I guess it will be somewhat similar to M&B and M&B:W.But different ofc.
Kenshi will stay kenshi. The engine is basically the same but and improved version with more possibilities and more power.
> Can't wait so see/play Kenshi 2 though... in 2030?
They had 4-6 ppl working on the game, i cant even say if they were working full time on it, but those days are over now with the sucess of kenshi.
Also the core of the game is set with kenshi 1 and it doesnt have to be new developed

Just checked it out, and it's still available.
Either on the Steam Store-page - scroll down to "About this game" and it's the first that's written in that area
OR
their website (on the right side of the screen)

Doesn't matter which way you pick since they both link to the same place anyway.
so, i think its possible the hidden forest but with a green hue over the top. The hidden forest has those kinds of trees and mushrooms (excluding the huge tree in the background) and khaki/grey textured floor. If you're interested in seeing more pictures, maybe they will help jog memories? they can be found here. Thanks for the replies though guys
I’m mostly self-taught, but the gist of it was I used the official kenshi plugin for blender and imported all of the models+textures of the characters, weapons, and the building, posed the characters accordingly, with a big box with a volume shader to give the fog effect, and then a sun light source. Then took the rendered image and did a little post processing in Photoshop for things like the dust particles and the blood on the sword.
Here you go, sad but true ---> https://lofigames.com/road-map-2/
'' What does this mean for Kenshi’s future? It means that there will be no new features added, Kenshi is feature complete, but we will be continuing to fix all crashes and bugs reported to us''
Hey, our subreddit has a rule against taking screenshots with an external camera. In cases like this, you can use the PRT SCR key to copy whatever is on the screen to your clipboard, or you can utilize the snipping tool to create small cropped images of whatever it is you'd like to share.
I'll be leaving this post up but future ones will be removed.
> visit a doctor
There are some distingueshed surgeons in the souths east of the map. They are specialized on limb transplantations.
if using gog.com
open the 'mods' directory of kenshi. create a folder named with the exact name of the .mod file in zip file. unzip contents into this newly created folder. launch kenshi and make sure the mod is activated in the mods tab.

if using steam or anything else
i dont know. i have it on gog.com
If it's this
Kenshi will almost certainly rip through your ram, even on lowbsettings so I air on the side of no.
Whatever laptop you get (if you can't get a PC) then I STRONGLY recommend a laptop cooler. I'm playing on a laptop more powerful than that, and even with performance mods (which you absolutely, 100% will want. Look up compressed textures, less clutter, etc), your computer will fry eggs. This is the one I use, and it works decently.
