It will take some time to go through all the apps to turn off background data and notifications but its worth it. Facebook and Facebook messenger is known to drain tons of battery due to poor optimization so use a facebook wrapper.
Obviously these are changes you can make without rooting your phone. I get around 4-5 hours of SOT but ymmv.
You are missing everything.
Unlike iPhones, you don't have to deal with the mess that is called iTunes or anything similar. Change your mindset with Android: treat your phone like a flashdrive, put whatever music and videos (or even weird unsupported documents) on it, and your apps will automatically search for them to display appropriately.
On Windows, it's as easy as plugging in your phone and your phone's internal storage will show up similarly to a camera or flashdrive.
Since you're on Mac, you'd have to deal with the fact that Apple intentionally makes your life difficult when you have one device out of the ecosystem. Get the Android File Transfer app here, install it, and your phone will show up similarly to Linux and Windows once plugged in.
From there on, throw your mp3s or FLACs into the music folder of your phone's internal storage. Your music app will detect whatever you have and show up.
Shuttle Music Player is a very popular alternative to Google Music. The premium version is $1, which is extremely underpriced for what it has been offering.
And if all else fails, yes, AirDroid works certainly. Shoot your mp3s and Flacs to the music folder, as mentioned above.
My girlfriend got one and so far she likes it, only thing that's been below average is the camera, okay in good lighting. I'd go for it if getting a solid phone for a really cheap price is your goal. Pretty big steal where it's at on Amazon. Should be getting Nougat soon. This is the heaviest duty case we could find so far there's been no issues. Feels nice in the hand. Case
Not a replacement, but you could install Gravity Screen to turn the screen on/off just by picking up/setting down the phone.
Okay, so we tried it and confirmed that it doesn't work on the Lightroom app, but does on the FreeDCam app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=troop.com.freedcam&hl=en. Therefore, it means that the app itself isn't producing data that Robin can understand. We can try more apps as alternatives though!
I bought mine on Amazon for $150 and I've had it for a month already and im loving it so far. This is the one I got: Nextbit Robin Factory Unlocked GSM Smartphone - Mint (U.S. Warranty) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D9LVCAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CYnpzbTP10RY2
I figured this out (in Lineage). I had an inkling that it was a reporting error in the apps (like CPU-Z, Simple System Monitor), rather than a genuine problem, and finally found an app that reports things properly, showing all 6 cores active during benchmarking.

Its an old app, Sir, but it checks out. Seriously though, if you download it and open it it'll address the issue. I've slid all the sliders to the left and now the audio is much better. Not a perfect solution, but until Nextbit fixes it, it's what we got.
Quite a few things most aren't aware of besides Google and Android Pay, but I'm looking more at a future where NFC will become as ubiquitous as barcodes. Anyway, here are some other things you can do now: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/9-awesome-ways-use-nfc-thatll-impress-friends/
I flashed Magisk (w/MagiskSU) after flashing the 7.1.1 factory image (and before booting the OS). Magisk automatically disables encryption once flashed (it modifies the boot.img). Let me know how it goes.
I've been using these for the last six months. They've been working fine for me with fast charging. The metal clip attaches to the cable on your existing microusb cord so you don't lose the adapter.
Man, to be for real with you I didn't even use that cable once. If I were you I'd buy a official Google USB c to USB c cable and then get a charger block from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CJ90J6O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XcqFybJ4ECJQ0
Nova Launcher. Really nothing else to get. This phone is fucking amazing, I'm so amazed at how quick and responsive it is but still have such a beautiful screen.
I've never owned an Otterbox case before but based on Amazon searches, the best ones available for the Robin would probably be made by TUDIA. I got mine recently and I love it! Dropping the phone was never really a concern for me. However, sometimes I feel like it isn't really sturdy and can bend anytime in my pocket (my jeans are tight). The edges are pretty much this rubberized gel, but the back part seems to be made of a much harder material. It feels way more durable.
I don't think it would do good as a waterproof case because all the ports are still exposed. The case's edges around the screen are a bit elevated so the screen itself has some sort of safety against scratches and drops. I personally think TUDIA cases are the best you can get for the Robin as of right now. Plus it looks great and is pretty slim (hence the name Slim-Fit).
I got stuck with A Better camera (ABC) - great features and it was the only one that allowed me taking pictures in raw. The Lightroom app was producing corrupted raw files with it's own camera feature.

And Camera 'N'X is not on the play store. It's a custom app based on the Google Camera. Here's the link: https://chromloop.com/2017/02/download-camera-nx-v5-5-mod-nexus-2015-phones-base-google-camera-4-3-016/
I'm just casually checking out the Robin, but any phone that will run a notification app like Notific will provide a MotoDisplay-like feature that will notify you via the display. I've used it on my 2015 Moto E for a long time now.
IMO, The Moto Camera app is probably one of the best free apps out there. Haven't tried on Robin yet. But just look at it.
