One app that the article and other people don't seem to mention anymore, but still works great and was one of the most popular apps in the early days of spoofing:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick
The dev is on reddit (u/theappninjas) and is pretty good about responding to people both here and thru email.
(Sorry about the ping app ninjas. Just showing support for one of the original spoof pioneers!)
this guide you posted is a little too complicated if you just want TWRP installed.
The TWRP install page is here https://twrp.me/Devices/ and you can find your device and it has a guide for every device available.
From what I understand the installation process for each device differs. The Samsung devices have Odin which is good and the Nexus devices use adb fast boot commands which is not bad but more complicated.
I think if you Google how to install TWRP with your device name a bunch of tutorial pages will come up and I do believe you can move the apks to system without wiping the phone but I haven't tested this myself as I already have TWRP installed the first time I rooted.
They are listed in step 2. He suggests this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
You have to be rooted and once you are rooted go to the burger menu settings and enable root explorer and check yes or grant when prompted by Magisk. This will give you access to the hidden system folder.
From what I can see it is a beta. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-12-8-62-release/google-play-services-12-8-62-100408-199405334-android-apk-download/
Go to the Play store and scroll down on the play services and leave the beta. But afaik Android 9 can't downgrade below 12.8
You can try this, should be fairly easy on a google device https://www.reddit.com/r/PoGoSpoofing/comments/9e40a3/tutorial_expert_mode_for_fake_gps_and_routes_by/
depends on its version 6.0.1 sould have the chainfire auto root i link useing odin , also there should be kingroot APK tat could work and Kingroot Pc . Most samsung devices are easily rooted this way .
proper way is to use odin (check xda forums), but you can try kingroot https://kingroot.net/. worked fine for me on an s4. use the kinguser root management app (installs itself when you root) to remove root after you finish setting everything up. kingroot also installs another annoying app when it roots (Purify, I think it's called), but you can uninstall that after rooting.
Damn lol, I finally figured out how to use odin/loaded the md5 onto it, but I put my phone into download mode before I did it all and it failed. Was it because I setup my phone first? can i just restart it? didn't think this could be so hard q.q
isn't making any sense, tried to download a new/different twrp from https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys4tmobile.html, the the file is .img wtf? it's not even the right file..
"Use the PDA tab or button to browse to and select the tar file that you downloaded and flash the device." like wtf there's not even a PDA tab, just makes no sense :(
I am not sure, make sure you are on the latest magisk version as Google updates safetynet often to stop magisk from working. Next I would go to the magisk threads and do a little research or maybe ask there, if it's a common problem there is probably a solution. Also note with v13 and up you cannot do core only mode anymore. Magisk Forums here
Check the safety net thread in XDA. Google updated safety net and an update is coming soon. There is currently a temp workaround. This happens every few weeks in the Android world since Google doesn't like root.
use magisk instead of supersu and use temporary fix to pass safetynet until new version with fix will be released: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/safetynet-fix-pass-safetynet-2017-07-17-t3637801
these methods havea HUGEE ban risk.....UNLESSSSs you are using the "bot method" which is explained here....https://www.thinkskysoft.com/how-to-avoid-ban-in-pokemon/

basically a pain in the butt, you gotta teleport, force close pokemon go, re open pogo, catch pokemon, teleport, close pokemon go, re open, rinse, repeat, basically EVERY TIME you "move" because these "tether methods" use old methods of spoof which do not properly track alltitude.....so it tells pokemon go you are underwater, in mountains, etc...basically at "zero" altitude.....lol.
try this on security patch March 2017 and above. Try the experimental option. Shows Failed to detect location while moving, but better than nothing. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsmartstudio.fakegps&hl=en_IN
warning Shadowban and Red warning possible!
there are apps in playstore which do the complete process of moving a user app to system app. i used : system app mover and didn't have any problems: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.systemappmover&hl=de
This app actually work on the S8. Just enable the unroot mode in the app settings. It has glitches though https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incorporateapps.fakegps.fre
There is a paid version with a joystick with a few glitches as well, but at least it works.
ah yes you have to install busybox to use it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer you either install it and start it before using system app mover or you search for another system mover app in the play store. there are plenty of it
It will be a lot harder. You need the app supersu me to convert KingRoot to supersu and then do your root stuff and then full unroot. Hopefully you can get rid of all things root and pass safetynet. I haven't tried this yet
I installed this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick&hl=en
And it simply works. I set it as mock location app and tried it on an alternate account and it works with no problem. I dunno what are the chances of being banned tho.
Which phone? android version? magisk version?
Where do you have to enable busybox? I had the same problem with the app system app mover. the reason was, i downloaded the wrong busybox app from the playstore. with the right one, it worked: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick
It's a free download isn't it? I don't remember paying for it and it's not in my account histroy. I imagine paying for it only removes the ads, but there's only 1 add when you start it and 1 when you end it.
Hi, Yes you (all of you) can spoof on android without "actually" rooting it! You only HAVE TO open your bootloader and install custom recovery (TWRP i.e.). Then install fake gps (ie https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theappninjas.gpsjoystick), reboot to twrp recovery and move the package from data/app to system/priv-app. Ad of course chmod 775 If you dont have system/priv-app move it to system/app. Reboot system, enjoy.
Hello, is there anyway that you can make your app work even with the March patch like this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incorporateapps.fakegps.fre?
If it is against the terms to publish the link to an app please a mod let me know and I'll remove the post asap
