Yes definitely. I also think Glassjaw's impact on east coast bands in the late 90's often goes underrated. This book is great for learning more about the development of post hardcore, but it was published in 2000 so it doesn't have any info on what happened in the following decade unfortunately.

Hey guys thanks for asking all the questions, I know we couldn't get to everything, but we will try to do this again sometime. Also, I have an ask.fm account I check sometimes! http://ask.fm/shanetoldofficial

Oh, Sleeper is metalcore, but their lyrics in their concept albums are amazing. Their most recent album Children of Fire tells the story of a Christian father and his atheist daughter. Their album previous to that Son of the Morning illustrates the battle between God and Satan. Whether you're a Christian or not their lyrics are worth listening to and appreciating, and they're a lot more brutal than you're probably thinking. One of their songs The Finisher is God's response to Satan's taunts for example: >Do you mean to challenge me? Because your speech is threatening To the writer of your history, Through a future perverted by envy. Your whisper may sway the weak, But when I speak it roars the sea. Your challenge has been met, Because with a breath I could snap your neck.
They also have songs about several relatively current events. Perhaps the most emotional song I have ever heard is Hush Yael from Children of Fire. Here is the story behind the song and Here is a link to the actual song with lyrics.
TL;DR The links best illustrate the point I am trying to get across about Oh, Sleeper's amazing overall songwriting
edit: I forgot to mention that they have Between the Buried and Me's former rhythm guitarist Shane Blay at lead guitar and clean vocals.
Start fapping. Look at his post history. If that's not enough, you can go over to his instagram. Check out the stuff he posted in December, where he's hanging out with the Jamie's Elsewhere guys and Nick Sampson in his studio in Detroit.
Love this band. They are from my hometown and about to kick off their tour. My band is actually doing a show with them on the 28th! Check it out! In Days Forgotten
Everynoise is pretty great. Type in a band you like and it'll suggest genres they're part of. Select one that sounds right for you.
Click on any of the bands there to get a quick preview of their sound or click on "playlist, pulse, edge" at the top. Those will take you to three spotify playlists for the genre. The three just vary in how well known the artists are (i.e. "playlist" is more mainstream, "edge" is pretty unknown bands).
A little while ago they released a tiny teaser on their Instagram page from the album they plan to release this summer, and I'm stoked almost exclusively because of that clip. HERE IT IS

Versa's lead vocalist also co-wrote a number of songs, and the only band-member to have any writing credit is Lyndsey. This boils down to three people having written the album, two of them not in the band (but in a band of their own). This always seemed super fishy to me, especially combined with the fact that PVRIS didn't even have an official drummer listed as a band member for that album. It always seemed like "RISE PRESENTS: Lyndsey Gunn".
Glad you like it! I saw them play with He Is Legend and Hail the Sun a little while ago which was a phenomenal show. When I heard about their upcoming album and listened to some of the songs I really wanted to try and get them out there. They have an indiegogo which ended up getting fully funded but they have a couple days left if you wanted to check out what they have to offer. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/matter-teraphim-album-fundraiser
Worth a shot.

To The Skies
Instrumental metal
We have played the stone pony a few times, and are in the finals for their battle of the bands. (crappy quality sorry)
They have a song in Flash flash revolution which actually introduced me to this band. It's a game like DDR but for your keyboard.

Is that from an interview or something? As far as I’ve read it was intended to be 6 acts long and 5 was to be the last “rock” one. There’s a little comment from Crescenzo on the Amazon page for Act V here:

Please help us out if you like what we are going for. that is our first song as a band. and we are just starting a kick starter campaign to help raise funds to get a line of merch going and package an album once we are finished writing.
here is the link to our kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/137937909/help-get-of-curiosities-make-an-album-and-get-star
any contribution helps, and is greatly appreciated. we truly are just trying to create something meaningful to ourselves and hopefully to you also. thankyou for taking the time to read this.
Here is some old stuff from my project Cixelsyd (hense my name Dyslexicmusic).
Our newer stuff is much better quality, and jazzier. But we do try to go for a Progressive Post-Hardcore/Jazz sound.
07 was a great Bamboozle!
The lineup was insane! The last one I know of was 5 years ago, I haven't heard anything in a long time. It was always a blast.
edit: added a word
I'm well aware of this :( should have posted the reverb nation link too sorry! listen to it Here
There's a direct link to the song - https://music.cliggo.com/artist/CORLINE/track/King_Or_Street_Sweeper
It won't load though.
A utility like youtube-dl might work, but I don't have it running on my work computer, so I can't give it a shot right now.
What a coincide! I literally just archived Translating the Name in lossless with some demos (both Greene and Reber's versions) for my blog (gonna post it tomorrow)!
Here's the download if you're interested: https://disk.yandex.com/d/7A5zVfcuw0UHTQ
I remember reading that they were an influence on Geoff Rickly, and they did a split with Circa.
also, Kerrang! considers them a "seminal post-hardcore" band
I can't recommend the Tennmak Pros enough.
I honestly don't think you can find better sound quality f or $30 from anything else. /r/headphones has been raving about them for a while now. I would say bass is slightly emphasized, but really at little to no sacrifice to the highs and mids. If you're willing to spend $100+ obviously there are better options out there, but tbh these beat most things in the sub-$75 range. The replaceable cable too is a huge, huge bonus.
I'm currently using these and really like them.
They come with 3 different cables that you can change anytime you want and I think they're pretty good for portable use as well, since you can fold them and put them in the bag that comes with them. Plus they aren't too bass heavy imo.
