I know it's lacking a bit cringe-wise but I think the overwhelming sadness of the situation makes up for it.
Fortunately it seems he was aware of his self-destruction and has stopped playing the game in hopes of a happier life.
I mean, why are we even reigniting dramas ? I thought that we didn't do that anymore since the Cookiezi askfm thingies.
He even apologized : http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?p=4384015#post4384015
I mean, yeah, he may be a dick, but I don't see the point of ruining one's achievement because of his personnality. I hate jhlee since this drama (and a lot of other koreans who were revealed to be toxic such as ABCD♪) but they still are really good players and I don't see the point of saying they don't deserve it.
here is a helpful picture dictionary on ffr (scroll down to the gifs)
the only thing it doesnt cover is chordjacks because they're relatively new to the meta (in the west at least), but they're basically patterns with repeated chords (jumps, hands, quads). an example of a chordjack file is the lost dedicated from the pack fullerene shift. here is a picture example from said file
Sure. Here you go..
there is flash flash revolution, which is exactly a flash version of ddr
on the other hand, you can install etterna on a usb drive, download some songs and play it at school, its pretty light so it can probably run even on your toaster
One option is to use DDream.
The other option is to use Arrow Vortex. It recently got released and it's a more modern program. I haven't used it myself, but I read good things about it.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=145215
get this theme because any other version of sm than this is garbage except 3.95 but that's old
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
here's a massive list of good packs
also nobody actually plays other than 4k and 6k (6k is usually called solo)
Stepmania is way better than osu!mania if you only play 4k
Here is a thread referencing all major Stepmania map packs
And if you're looking for easier packs, you can get the DDR packs here
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=114321
>Double setup: Having two keys bound to each column, and when a very fast jack or trill comes up using some configuration that alternates keys for that column, allowing it to be hit twice as slow as intended. Considered cheating if not explicitly stated as part of the playing style.
>you're bs: An allegation that the player is widening his windows/using double setup/using a bot/completely faking scores. Usually not true (unless it's really obvious, e.g. person comes out from nowhere with scores that make no sense and no stepfile choice/knowledge you'd expect from a long time player) and can be countered by an 'im not bs' video that shows the hash of the executible and stepmania being booted up, the lines in stepmania.ini showing the sizes of the judgment windows, a clock and fingertaps during play and that the judge/life settings within stepmania are 4/4.
so unless you want to be considered a cheater/be called bs its up to you, if you just play for fun and dont care about scores then do w/e you want ;)
For anyone looking for content, this should almost always be your first stop for song packs: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
Beginner friendly packs are denoted with stars. Many of the packs with stars next to them have a variety of difficulties so you can ease yourself into harder keyboard files. For strict 4key play, I would not recommend new players start with DDR files, as the jump to the real keyboard files will be awkward for most since they introduce a lot of jumps (2 keys at once) hands (3 keys) and quads (4 keys).
The most popular theme at the moment is definitely Spawncamping Wallhack (Stepmania 5 only) and can be dowloaded here: https://github.com/ca25nada/spawncamping-wallhack
This theme has a lot of options to let you set up your speed mods and settings without having to mess about in settings files.
I also feel obliged to link my custom noteskins. These are similar to the ones Staiain used during the stream, just slightly different colors. Basically, these are noteskins optimized for reading efficiency, but everyone has their own preferences: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133619
I'm always happy to answer anyone's questions as well, at least in the 4key realm of play, I don't know much about the others.
Still regularly updated after all these years! They add several new songs every couple weeks or so. Lots of good songs :D
I STRONGLY recommend the standalone flash player, it runs much faster. Download here. (scroll down)
Flash Player setup guide: http://i.imgur.com/kfjS85f.png?2 (use FP9)
I also recommend using 2 hands:
Left - Q
Down - W
Up - 8
Right - 9
The better you get, the more fun the game is :D
I started playing the online game Flash Flash Revolution when I was 11 after my sister showed it to me. From there I found Kyle Ward's music and loved it. I then found FL Studio and messed around making it. I guess it has come full circle.
scroll down/ctrl+f "keyboard dumps" and click show spoiler for a ton of hard shit: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
also check out the packs under normal 4 key as well because packs like nuclear blast and jumpstream of fighters are there too
>just place different 32nd jumps after one another to some 260bpm sharpnel track
This will result in a very bad keyboard file, there is actually quite a lot of theory behind making them and you can't just put down anything you want and get a good quality simfile. Just take a look at this review document for BOAT 2. https://docs.google.com/document/d/16ucHZMYkyiuNQkOZ9arzEhonnWKCmG9AuLQIvYyiyZQ/edit
If you want to learn how to chart for keyboard, this thread should give you a good idea of the basics. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=82080
Hi, simply being active may not be enough for you. You can try some of these exercises.
100 Meter Scroll: http://the100meterscroll.com/
Type lifting - how many characters can you lift(type): http://www.typingtest.com/m/
Arrow dancing - if you like dancing: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFR_the_Game.php
Keyboard community is mostly focused at FFR forums in terms of simfile releases, for chatting most kb players hang out in discord groups, there are a lot of them. I don't know much about the pad community. Anyway most packs are hosted on SMO, so that might be a good place to look for DDR-A and stuff.
Hello !
Simfiles, you can find a lot here : http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
For the mods, you can try to use something like 3x, 30% Mini with another noteskin, for example wafles4.
For the practise mode, you can disable Fail in the options, or play in edit mode !
An Asian kid from my grade in highschool was in the Top 500 global players on http://www.flashflashrevolution.com.
He used to play in the library/lab during lunch, and even though he was quiet and kind of weird, everybody who watched him play was impressed. The keyboards were loud as shit too, so he could only do it during certain times.
I don't really want to spend the time to sync something 24 minutes long, but at the very least I can recommend you sync with DDReam if you aren't already, it has a bunch of tools to assist with syncing a file.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=123423
FFR is Flash Flash Revolution, an old flash game that worked like DDR with a keyboard before that became an actual thing.
FRR is free rune removal, as people have already said.
Try this theme, it's becoming increasingly popular and includes a NPS counter/graph: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=141588
Just drop it into your "Themes" folder, fire it up as a theme from one of the options menus (Appearance, I think?), and then when you're getting ready to play a song, enter the Player Options and select "NPS Graph" or what have you.
Here's an old guide, but it's still relevant:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=72047
Stepmania 5 specific guide:
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Song-on-Stepmania
The most important part in making your own song is getting the bpm right. If you don't get this part right, it just won't feel good to play. So, make sure you take time to get that down first.
http://stepmaniaonline.net/index.php?page=downloads
Pretty much every pack in existence. If you're still looking for a community based around the game, http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ is probably the most active one left.
I think there was some stepmania pack on TPB, and a huge database website. Also, it's pretty effective because it's MUCH more fun than running if you're not a huge runner, and that 1.30 minute song goes FAST. I'd say you can get up to 50-60 calories per song at the faster/higher BPM/Difficulty.
I think Angelic mix originated in DDR MAXX,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl3UAo6Hz9w
Paranoia is a recurring song/mix throughout the series. I think this is the newest one... Dont be a bar fag though
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BUSAuJLGwY
One thing you'll notice is that these songs have 0 letup... you are constantly moving.
I googled it...
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
It's extremely effective. It has been a while since I played, but we would AAA most songs on the "heavy" difficulty on most versions. So you can say we were pretty "into" it lol. (even built our own pads and whatnot...)
Some of the stepmania versions have extra modes that modders make, increasing the difficulty and calories burned.
This would be an awesome take on Flash Flash Revolution or StepMania -- using the steps that you take in the song to take someone through scenery on a little adventure
FFR is still around, as a side note.
If anyone wants to know the game he is playing is Stepmania which is free here http://www.stepmania.com/
and the website at 2:40 is FlashFlashRevolution which can be found here
Skip to the end of this, it has a lot of definitions. This is more for keyboard, but you never specified and /u/KonKitty already gave some good pad definitions.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=115282
And if you haven't seen this link, check out the pad section in particular.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
There might be some easy metal/rock songs in there also. I mainly play 4k on keyboard, so I'm not as familiar with pad packs. Good luck and keep practicing!

bunch of links are broken but this gives you a good idea of who jhlee really is
Well, that's just how Stepmania works, you download packs and play them.
You could also try out FFR, there is a "Most Popular Songs" section on the daily stats page.
Put the image in the file's folder. If you name it "Song Name-bg.png" and "Song Name-banner.png" it'll automatically add them. If you want to use a different image name, then you need to specify that in the SM file (open it in Notepad).
Hey sorry for the very late reply here, I think I can find both of those. Please don't think your post is being ignored :D
Szycag is one of the most popular VS marathon files, it's 9 minutes and stepped by MrTea. It's in FFR Community Pack Spring 2012.
Masodik Galamb (4:16 long) is in FFR Community Pack 4 stepped by mi40, there are also a bunch of other VS and Aphex Twin songs in the pack
If you're making your own files, I highly recommend using ddream studio in lieu of the built-in editor. It's leagues ahead in essentially every way.
Here's a link to a forum post with some tips and tricks to get the most out of it along with a download link for the program and a video tutorial on getting started.
Best of luck with your file :)
Are you a pad or keyboard player? If you're a keyboard player, www.smleaderboards.net is a site where players are ranked based on their scores on ranked charts. Here's their pack list.
If you play pad, you can try the major simfile list's pad section, which contains packs that are popular or released through their medium. You can also try the Top Packs section on SMO, which ranks packs based on the play count they have. Green means keyboard, blue means pad, red means solo (6key).
I might make one in the future but keep in mind there's several different ways to go about it and I would just be showing my method.
Right now this is probably the best you've got.
I like to use ddreamstudio for syncing and the Stepmania 5 editor for putting notes down.
If you have specific questions about making simfiles you can ask me.
Not a dev, just someone that's been playing casually for the past 10 years plus a few months. Keyboard is more than likely a bigger scene than pad. Pads for windows are generally pretty hard to find (decent ones, at least) and are often issue-laden with setting up, which is why you see so many people asking about them. The pad file packs are also a really great way to get your skill off the ground when playing with a keyboard.
For longevity, stepmania was released in 2001 and an extremely similar game, flashflashrevolution was released in late 2002 and is still going fairly strong.
I'm heading to bed, but I'll be happy to answer any other questions you have when I get up. :)
edit: I should mention that /r/stepmania is a fairly small community for the game. If you head over to FFR, there's a significantly larger community there.
How has nobody mentioned Flash Flash Revolution? This was an OG web browser game from around 2005. I still have my account from '07. Give it a whirl! DDR is still the best rhythm game out there! (Everything from Supernova 2 and before)
It's from Vocaloid Project Pad Pack 3rd. That pack has a ton of fun songs to play imo. I found it in this thread on flashflashrevolution.
As for flair, I think that's something the moderators set manually so you could message them about it.
Hey. :)
I assume that the defunct hosts for the files were from StepMania Share and that StepMania FTP? It seems really hard to find the file anywhere else, sadly.
Perhaps you saw this video already, but this is likely the simfile you were looking for, ne? Doesn't look like that guy is terribly active though... A really unnecessarily long and boring thing to do would be to try recreating it based off this video.
Perhaps the best bet, though it may be a bit awkward, would be to contact Xanox100 personally and see where you can go from there. He seems to be sort of active on the FFR forums, but I guess you can go from there.
Good luck!
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com
It's like Dance Dance Revolution, but you use your fingers instead. You can rebind the keys to whatever you like (Mine are bound to QWOP).
It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but it is fun and helps me with my finger dexterity.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
This thread should be the first place you ever look when you want new packs to play.
You're gonna run into weird quality issues if you just download random packs from the SMO Downloads page since they're only loosely categorized and not sortable.
StepMania or FlashFlashRevolution. The scene isn't what it used to be, but it still exists. Plus people can do some pretty crazy things when you give them a keyboard instead of a dance pad.
7k is different from 4k, 7k is more about reading playing complex patterns while 4k is more about "raw" speed and endurance (not so straightforward obviously, but it's kinda it)
You can stick to 4k if you want. There are some 4k specific maps (most popular 4k mappers are Lein and Spy I think), you can also look for Stepmania client ( I never really tried it but it's most popular 4k) and try FFR
Not everyones' files get posted on aggregate sites (like Divinelegy), especially newer material. Simply going to the main sources where people post their most recent material is the best way to go--furthermore, the forums on the above mentioned sites have threads stickied with links to other simfile packs.
I found when I was in marathon training, I got worse at the high BPM songs. I had the endurance to not get tired, but lost the speed to hit the notes. Fast twitch muscles are really necessary to hit 16th notes for songs like Fascination or the Max's. Squats, leg press, and calf exercises make it so much easier.
IMO the best to train reading a chart while playing with your fingers is http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFR_the_Game.php? The charts there are crazy. Probably start with songs tagged as difficult (similar to a 9 footer) and work your way from there.
I would register with FFR's forums, and post a thread in here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/forumdisplay.php?f=21
You'd have a way better chance of getting results from that, than in here.
They have a song in Flash flash revolution which actually introduced me to this band. It's a game like DDR but for your keyboard.
Edit link: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffrndanotherway.swf
Freezepop is more synth pop. My favorite from them is Science Genius Girl (Frequency Mix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cm2lvtJHya8
Though Robotkid did a remix of it he called "lameboy mix" using a Commodore 64 and NES. That can be found here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/levelstats.php?level=225 (Have to hit play)
Closest thing I can think of at the moment is 8bit operators: http://www.8bitoperators.com/
Though they're more just chiptunes than dance music from my understanding (I'm no music expert)
I saw a couple of pony-related images/references, but I didn't really pay much attention to them. Then I saw this and watched the first episode. I've been a brony ever since, and I've even gotten a couple of friends into the series. [](/b10)
the biggest factor in stepmania 5 vs. 3.9 will primarily be settings. If all the settings are the same, for example vsync off on both versions, and various other optimizations you can use primarily for 3.9 in this linked thread, the next biggest being waveout. then the next possible answer will be that the play fields themselves. Ensuring the playfields match exactly across versions is just as important as the settings if you are used to a certain area of play. Finally if all of that checks out then it just means you are more accustomed to sm5 than 3.9 and your best bet would be to adapt to the version you wish to play on. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=125005
/u/xopher314 posted this link in another thread a few days ago. I've read through it and it seems like quite a good way to make your own bar platform for a metal pad.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=137339
Spyro and Crash are personal childhood favorites of mine.
I wonder if the Cook, Serve, Delicious games would be up your alley. The first two are fantastic, and the third is out in early release right now (but it's very polished and I still sunk 50 hours into it in the last 2 weeks). The graphics are fantastic, as is the music (supposedly, I always play with music off since it distracts me). They don't really fit into any specific genre, maybe look up some gameplay videos and see what you think.
Slime Rancher is very cutesy, though fairly short (I finished in less than 30 hours).
Can you get old PS3 games on PS4? If so I would also recommend Katamari Forever (or anything in the Katamari series that you can get ahold of). Super bright colors, good controls, and wacky gameplay.
My husband and I have enjoyed the South Park games as well. If you haven't checked out the Portal games yet those might be good too.
If you can get it, Chrono Trigger is a fabulous introduction into the RPG genre. No random encounters, fantastic turn-based combat, and a wonderful story. I know it got a DS port many years ago, but I'm not sure about other platforms (and it can be hard to find in general). I have heard similar things about the Dragon Quest series, though haven't played them myself (incidentally the artwork for both games was done by Akira Toriyama). Edited to add: Hey, Chrono Trigger looks like it got a Steam port! $15 is a steal, I 100% recommend it.
Ever played any rhythm games? I was big into Dance Dance Revolution back in the day, and it has a spiritual successor, Flash Flash Revolution (bonus, it's free).
Here is a big ol list of packs - http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
Maybe you’ll find what you are lookin for in there? You can also search up songs on stepmaniaonline.com
I'm addition to what others said, if you're an old-school player and want to jump back in, this forums seems to still work. I don't know if new stuff has been added but I lost my song library a couple years back and this got me right up to speed
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
As for the controller, yeah dude. I used to have a modded psp and there was a great stepmania for it. Probably one of my most played titles on the device.
I used to play a game called FFR when I was about 16 and got unnaturally good at it. The muscle memory never goes away and I can still play it incredibly well. I still open it up from time to time when I'm drunk just to blow my friends' minds. It's pretty much the same deal as Guitar Hero or any other rhythm game.
I get most of mine off this forum post and I use a file converter and download osu!mania charts.
And if I’m looking for a specific song or pack I go to Stepmaniaonline.com. And if I’m just browsing I go to etternaonline.com.
i almost choked when i read this holy shit

Here my man, this is where i get a lot of mine :
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
also get etterna instead of the normal stepmania client, its got a built-in song downloader.
Oh, right, Z-I-v has no pack for it and about all Speirmix links in Z-I-v forum threads seem to be dead, now :(
Also, I have checked everywhere I know (stepmaniaonline.net, http://www.flashflashrevolution.com forums, ITG Packs Release Spreadsheet, also, Google) for a Speirmix 4 pack. Nothing. I am not sure why.
I dont recommend to do things like those because I like to keep the integrity of the original songs intact. But that's just me. Anyways, to answer your question, you have two choices:
1) ArrowVortex: a new chart editor for SM/Etterna, osu!mania, and of course PIU. It's a very powerful tool that I use along with DDReam Studio (see below) for my charting purposes (for SM/Etterna and o!m) Link: http://arrowvortex.ddrnl.com
2) DDReam Studio: I use this even though its outdated and no longer supported by its own devs. To me, its easier to use once you get the hang of but it can be outclassed by its successor, ArrowVortex. Link (along with a detailed guide on how to use it): http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=118975
You're doing keyboard packs. I wouldn't recommend that. Personally I like to use this FFR thread:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
This is a good starting point. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
This is a list of all the major stepmania packs with download links to help you get started. The keyboard megapack 1.5 is a good starting point (im not sure how good you are but some are pretty difficult) also the keyboard collaborations are good and the Fantastically Fresh Flock ones are good too.
Stepmania is for pc. A average/below average laptop can play the game.
Get your charts here
I am a keyboard player so I don't know where one could get a high quality pad. However I have seen ones on Amazon that look good.
A flash-based Dance Dance Revolution clone you play on the keyboard. It still exists and they still have tons of songs available and an active player base too. I just don't really go there anymore.
A choke is usually when you mess up at the end of a map, a reverse choke is when you mess up at the beginning of the map. Search jumptrill in this thread to find an explanation for that one.
>In my own time making these I noticed that if you set a note ever so slightly ahead of the note in the song it overall feels more accurate.
Not true at all. Don't do this please.
Anyways the file is still offsync. Unfortunately this song's bpm drifts, so you should probably use ddream because syncing this properly in arrowvortex would be a huge pain in the ass.
Yeah, don't do solo. That uses 6 arrows instead of the standard 4 that we all know from Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). (StepMania is a DDR game.) You want 4k, I guess(?). I guess that means 4-key. Download some of the packs labeled for "Pad" from here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showpost.php?p=4027710&postcount=1 Pick ones with blue stars next to them for packs that have multiple difficulty settings (allowing you to lower the difficulty to make it easier for you).
----------------
Put the song packs in the "Songs" folder that came with the PSP Revolution download. So your songs should be placed in the directory on your PSP's memory stick like so:
[PSP Memory Stick] > PSP > GAME > PSPR > Songs > [Song Pack Folder] > [Song Folder] > [A bunch of files like .sm, .mp3, .ogg]
where "[Song Pack Folder]" and "[Song Folder]" can be called anything you want.
(There used to be sites where you could download individual songs made by people too, and there were some cool ones. Try googling a song you want a simfile of and see if one's still out there for download)
This is a useful link I often see getting passed around, it's what I sent to my friends when they wanted packs. Best of luck, remember that (a lot of) practice makes perfect! http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
As far as I know, spawncamping-wallhack theme and the Etterna client both have the box that counts your judgments.
Etterna: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=145215
Spawncamping-wallhack: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=141588
Just echoing the other guy -- here is a link for anyone interested in getting into StepMania. The Etterna project is what SM truly needs to get people going; it improves on the core SM client is just about every way imaginable. Doing wonders for the community too. My favorite VSRG on the market by a country mile.
Does popularity matter if it's a good game and a HUGE amount of songs? Every DDR song is on SM, without exception and there are tonnes and tonnes of video game music packs.
Latency is not a problem, you sync up your keyboard and display latency to the sound and you'll have effectively 0 ms latency.
Osu! is more popular than Stepmania. On the contrary, SM has proven itself over the years, whilst Osu! might be a shorted lived hype. The mania mode of Osu! is worse than SM's, because of the arrow coloring.
First of all you really want to put your judge back at 4, it will help you out immensely in harder songs because you'll be way more accurate, also people tend to not take the score seriously because it is played at the easiest setting. Second, jump streams are streams that have jumps in between sort of like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzUG4rAyG-U if you can see there's a few jumps in between the "stream" of notes making the song harder to play (but funner imo)
also notes are different colors to represent different beats in the song e.g quarter notes, half notes, eighths, 32nd 64th etc etc
you can look at this FFR post when you have time to familiarize yourself much more with the terminology and the game itself - http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=127628
Good luck!
personally, i tend to focus somewhere between the receptors and the combo counter and i believe most people do this; just try your best to focus
i highly recommend not straining your hands too much, try playing to the point when your hands feel tired but before you start feeling any real pain; your stamina will improve naturally
there is currently an attempt with standardizing difficulty ratings, go to smrankings.net, it's not very accurate yet though but newer packs are starting to use it
just keep practicing and playing more, you'll learn trills and jacks them by playing them
i would say you're at a fairly average level, keep playing and please dim your background when playing, trust me it helps + try going for AA on files, don't focus on being too perfect
also try the wafles4 noteskin, it's great for reading: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133619
edit: this might be useful too: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
if your theme does not have BAT LIVES in the mod screen then check if its in the game settings, probably under arcade options or something similar. if its not there I would reccomend using a theme, like ultra-light (on staiain's twitch if you type !theme) or spawncamping-wallhack, which can be found here
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
http://stepmaniaonline.net/index.php?page=downloads
Also if you're going to want down-scroll in Stepmania you're going to turn on the "reverse" mod (it's going to be in the same place where you change speed mod)
Yeah here, this is pretty much DDR on your arrow keys. Flash Flash Revolution. Pretty much all my time on the PC is sunk into this website with another browser on my dual screen.
Theme is a WIP by ca25nada for Stepmania 5.0.8 and later versions. :) http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=141588
Song pack is in the description of the video which is Yolomania Vol. 4. :3 http://smleaderboards.net/uploads/packs/Yolomania4.rar
You can still go to the FFR simfile pack list and it still works for some reason, even though the links are directly to SMO. Here's the list: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=133223
Oh hey, who would of thought I'd run into you here. ;)
This seems somewhat similar to the thing I'd want to build eventually for stepmania/beatmania/djmax, though a paired set since I don't play osu.
Funny its always renard eh? Remember this? I think past a certain threshold, most of the harder songs are either comically overstepped or the music falls into a few select groups. (Breakcore, Metalcore, Jcore, etc^^^^ore )
Since someone already suggested Osu!, my second suggestion is...
<strong>FlashFlashRevolution</strong>. It's singleplayer (for high-score matches, like our previous two rounds) or multiplayer (for versus matches) and free! :D
What do you think of Stepmania? It's a free DDR clone with an absolutely massive amount of files, for both pad and keyboard. The best part is that there's files for complete beginners and files that people who have been playing for years still have difficulties with; there is a great deal of longevity.
Here's an example of one of the best players
And an extremely fun to play, much more reasonable file
The main area people hang out in is currently Flash Flash Revolution
Rhythm games, I've been a fan for ~11 years now. DDR, ITG, FFR, Stepmania, Guitar/DJ hero, DJ Max, Rockband, Rocksmith, Beatmania, etc.
Random thing I uploaded while trouble shooting my new keyboard/setup.
Just to start, I probably wasted so much of my early internet career playing Flash Flash Revolution. This game actually introduced me to one of my favorite bands at the time, Mindless Self Indulgence.
StepMania is a ton of fun! I've been playing for a couple moths now. The biggest problem is almost definitely finding packs that match the difficulty you want. I've just gone through and downloaded a bunch and tried stuff out. If you haven't seen it yet, this list is a fairly comprehensive and well-sorted list of packs. There's also this list. It isn't sorted or anything, but it has some stuff that the first list doesn't have.
I looked through stuff I've got and found a few that I think have pretty good songs (although I haven't played then on Novice or Easy, so it may vary for you); Animusic Season 1 and 2, The League of Extraordinary Stepmen Chapter 1, and Touhou Hokyouso Lunatic Dance Floor.

I can play alright at about level 50, I got an FC level 35 so I'm not amazing at it... but if you want challenge, try some of the level 80-100 songs...
I've never tried GH though - I'm a bit put off by the mechanic of having to tap the bar at the same time as you press a button - it seems a bit redundant... I should play it sometime though.
Well, one game I play a lot of is FFR - rhythm game involving lots of tapping on the keyboard... I reckon having a sprung keyboard would make me at least 10% better at it...
Still regularly updated after all these years! They add several new songs every couple weeks or so. Lots of good songs :D
I STRONGLY recommend the standalone flash player, it runs much faster. Download here. (scroll down)

I also recommend using 2 hands:
Left - Q
Down - W
Up - 8
Right - 9
The better you get, the more fun the game is :D
I have a dance mat and Stepmania. Also I play FFR which is a keyboard version of it with a semi-active community forum... it gets insanely hard, too, at later difficulties.
^Sorry ^whenever ^someone ^mentions ^rhythm ^games ^I ^just ^have ^to ^mention ^FFR ^and ^Stepmania... ^I ^love ^rhythm ^games ^but ^I ^never ^got ^the ^appeal ^of ^OSU...
Flash Flash Revolution was my crack back in high school and I still get an itch for it now and then.
It's basically a stripped down flash run, in browser version of Stepmania. Which in itself is Dance Dance Revolution for PC.
I owe a lot of my finger speed to this game and it also helped me pick up a rhythm which can be used in all other types of things. Plus its just lots of fun with lots of songs to choose from.
I've recently played loads of a rhythm game called FFR... now I'm wondering how easy/hard it would be if I wanted to take up piano or drums, using my pre-learned skills of being able to tap in time to some really complex rhythms and having to hit different combinations of notes, it seems not too large a leap to think that I could apply them to learn an instrument really well.
Hexagon is one of those simple games that are so ridiculously hard that they become addicting. It's the shorter version of the game Super Hexagon.
If you love button smashing and Dance Dance Revolution then Flash Flash Revolution is a definite must play. There are hundreds of songs and different music genres to choose from.
I have been playing some Flash Flash Revolution recently and I am having a lot of fun with it.
It is basically a clone of DDR using Flash. The game has been around for many years, but went offline a few years ago only to come back relatively recently. There are over 1,000 songs, and for a game programmed in Flash the graphics are stellar. A new engine is currently being tested, and it runs beautifully for the most part. Really fun stuff.
The game is free, so if you like rhythm games, why not check it out? http://www.flashflashrevolution.com
For the jewelry crafting, I'm not entirely sure who to recommend, as I usually don't do any jewelry crafting. However, as long as you search 'jewelry making beginner' in youtube, you should get a number of starting points.
For crocheting, try out the Crochet Geek on Youtube.
Check her playlists. She'll have a whole playlist for beginners. I don't know if you're left handed or right handed, but she does video explanations for both. The reason why I like her is that she moves very, very slow and shows you each and every move she does, and even does repeats to make sure you know what you're doing. Crocheting is a great thing to learn, as it's a relatively cheap craft (all you need is a hook and some yarn). Her beginner videos should help you get started learning how to stitch. Once you get that put down, she'll have beginner crafts to start with (like making circles and granny squares). From then, you can move to her other playlists and videos.
Yeah, that's the downside to a wii fit. However, for the DDR thing I mentioned, you can actually buy, for your computer, a DDR mat that plugs in via USB. From there, you can download a game called 'Step Mania', and use your Dance Dance Revolution mat to play it on the computer. I've never done it, but I considered doing it at one point. Maybe a more knowledgeable redditor may know how to do it, if you're interested.
If you'd like something to do with your hands, a fun DDR game that I enjoy playing when I have some free time is Flash Flash Revolution. It's a fun game where you use the arrow keys on your keyboard and push them according to the music. You can also rank while you play, all you have to do is create an account.
I know this song because of Flash Flash Revolution. I freaking love it and even though it might not be like playing on an actual piano, it's still pretty damn hard, trust me.
Check it out here and click on "Toggle Display Song Preview" if you're curious.
True, it's not groundbreaking...before this there was Flash Flash Revolution. But I like the twist of spells and the three different screens, makes it more fun and more complicated. Putting the RPG element made me want to keep going, rather than playing a couple of songs and then getting bored of it.
Edit: Here's a link to Flash Flash Revolution for those interested http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/FFR_the_Game.php
Not more than anyone else I don't think. But the best way I can describe my problem is that my mind can't focus / concentrate, and I can't handle a lot of information coming at me really fast, i.e. RTS games, and games like FlashFlashRevolution. But, strangely, I was fairly good at Guitar Hero when I played it. I could play almost any song on expe
