>Not sure what happened. This was supposed to be a reply to the post regarding using NotifiVR rather than the built-in option which isn't available to us Android users still.

Kinda late but I recently bought this head strap off Amazon. It works with the original headband and holds up a battery pack. I 'reinforced' the battery with some rubber straps because I felt the magnet wasn't strong enough.
Here's the cable I purchased. No issues.

I ordered this one from amazon.de and put the perscription inside. Its around +0.5 with cyl -0.5 and it fitted nicely.
Sounds like poor connectivity via USB. Which can have 2 causes, usually.
1) drivers.
Make sure all drivers are up to date including usb drivers. Don’t use driver update programs like driver booster or driver pack solutions. If you don’t know, ask. I’d be happy to help.
2) The cable could be faulty also. Happens sometimes. I am using https://www.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Accessories-Compatible-Headset/dp/B09N77BGDF
Have you tested airlink just to see if that works?
This was definitely the solution that worked for me, I tried all other ways of cleaning and fidgeting with the springs and re-calibrating it using the built-in tools and adjusting the deadzone before I pulled the trigger on a can of electrical contact cleaner.

This stuff to be precise rather than wd40 branded.
I’ve heard it might happen if you leave your Quest 2 turned on charged overnight. Make sure to turn off your Quest 2 when you’re done. I myself charge my Quest2 overnight all the time and I’ve had it since last year March. I turn off my Quest 2 after each use. I didn’t notice any degradation in battery life. However I don’t recommend charging overnight. Because Quest2 is powered by rechargeable lithium ion battery and it’s known that those degrade over time if you use it until 0% and charge it overnight every time.
I’ve noticed USB-C port on Quest 2 is a little fragile. So if you use link cable to play PCVR games or you wanna have peace of mind, I recommend getting a magnetic USB-C angled adapter. I use this one:
Magnetic USB C Adapter 20Pins... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TT6NGBC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You’ll just put it there and never have to worry about it. You’ll never put stress on the port that way. But if you’re getting a battery headstrap like BoboVR M2 Pro, they’ll come with angled cable that you plug the headstrap battery to your Quest2, in that case you don’t need angled adapter.
I have the Bobovr M2 Pro and bought this case designed for it:

Everything essential fits inside nut it is a little tight. Before you consider a case, consider a backpack instead. I have a hard time getting all of my accys into it despite how much larger it is than the standard Quest case.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YTZ1XL5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
This one is pretty much universally compatible with any head strap and with multiple ways to attach it to the headset or person, with 8m hour battery life... so pretty good. I own this one
Cat crap, scope dope.. it's a coating that can be applied to glass. Generally for scopes or binoculars.
My current favourite: a couple of controller grips with bands that go over your knuckles..
Mine are similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/NexiGo-Controller-Accessories-Anti-Throw-Protective/dp/B0977HMX8Y
But my model has blue and red print on the straps, so I can easily identify which controller goes where(b*Lue on the **Left, **Red on the **R*ight.. just like with audio equipment :) )...
Inexpensive and a great add-on, in my opinion, because you can let go of the controllers and they will stay where they are, if you want to give your hands a rest(or just open your hands to wave at someone in VR chat).
When I got my Quest 2, I was quite surprised about the audio quality.. Even the built-in audio isn't half bad.. So if you don't mind everybody in the room hearing your game sound, you don't have to do anything immediately.
If you do want more privacy, you can easily add a set of earphones via the integrated (now stereo) headphone jack.. If they have a reasonably short cable like these: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B09NDG18CL/ , they won't be in your way.. Logitech makes a set of ear and headphones with a short cable for VR headsets, but I found them overpriced for what they are..
If you're set for on-ears, getting another DAS and adding the Vive headphones is probably the best alternative..
https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Connection-Lightweight-Replaceable-Accessories-Quest2/dp/B09JNR4Y15/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=133729931185&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuO6WBhDLARIsAIdeyDLvFYkRBNgwN5lTq6pBUAD-yJ-D9HlyQAWzoN4EUTgXlMNwTvcay1waAjJSEALw_wcB&hv... I think this head strap is a good comfort accessory for the price
I don't get why you can't use a portable amp? It has its own battery which I assume would last a good amount of time depending on which one you got. Connect the Bluetooth amp to your PC and set that as your main audio output and throw it in your pocket with your IEMs connected.
Something like this
Now I'm not recommending this specific one since you should prob do some research to see which fits your needs. Just showing as an example.
There are good suggestions in the comments, if all of those fail and you have the money, I bought one of these and I really wish I had done it soon. It fits much better and if you happen to be sharing your quest, it makes adjusting the headset for fit much easier.
If you have a warranty on the headset still I’d save yourself the trouble and just get the whole headset replaced.
If you don’t have a warranty, they sell replacement controllers but I can’t personally speak for the quality of them

That being said the best thing ever would be to pony up for the Bobovr m² pro. It's the most comfortable head strap I've worn on any VR system and the battery pack goes on with strong be magnets super simple fast and it adds 2 full cycles to your gameplay grab a spare battery and your playtime is infinitebest_option
This is also a common recommendation I've seen on youtube
Ah I came across that before I bought mine, only ended up going with the stouchi because it's close to OEM link cable quality. I noticed the syntech cable had a few people on this sub complaining about the cable wearing out or not giving proper signal from some motherboards since it lacks a repeater and it's not fiber optic. This one has a repeater for a bit better long cable performance and is about the same price as the syntech
Since I wanted a cable longer than 10ft, I got this fiber cable. Plugged in with an adapter to a USB-A port in my mobo it doesn't charge fast enough to use for more than a few hours of 120hz gaming, but plugged into my mobo's USB-C port the battery doesn't drain. So far it's worked great for me. Still pretty expensive but if you want a long cable you kind of have to get fiber or the cable won't really preform
I love this one definitely gives you way more battery and they sell extra batteries also. The strap is also super comfortable compared to the original..It's a no brainer imo with the extra battery life and comfort compared to the elite

We got the below and are pretty happy with it.

You can also set up a router to be a VPN gateway, and enable/disable VPN by specific device on your network. Most routers require a flash but that's not terribly difficult. Check out this example: AsusWRT Merlin. It's easy to set up and easy to use with OpenVPN or other protocols.
You will see some impact to bandwidth due to the encryption/decryption load, and can mitigate this by choosing a router with a decent processor. If price is not a factor go ahead and go full retard.
Good luck!
Right now, she's only interested in playing Job Simulator. Seems pretty innocent to me (I mean, she did have to fire some people, but other than that...lol).

Yup, right now everything is stock. I do have a AMVR pad thing for the strap (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V4L2GHV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I thought maybe she could wear a hat or something?
Honestly, if everyone here says "don't do it," I'm willing to listen. Better safe than sorry.
Personally as long as it's like really supervised and not for too too long there might not be too much of a problem but personally my nieces and nephews have seen me play and want to try but instead I cast it to my tv and I just listen to what they want me to do sometimes lol. But to get back to the main topic fr I love this headset it's a little pricy but so good tbh

>Can I play it sat up in a bed? Or how much room do I need to play?
You can lie down or rest against a pillow with original head strap. I can't as I replaced mine with a BoboVR strap for much better comfort (its similar to the PSVR headstrap) but I think its so nuch better with it.
Someone said you can't play in the dark. You can if you get yourself an infrared floodlight like this.
For playing standing, I think whatever your reach (arms outstretched to the sides) is and double it. Otherwise youll be smacking walls!
>Do I need a PC/laptop to play it?
No its all self contained. But you can connect up a pc via USB-C or wireless (Wifi6) for much better graphics using SteamVR (to play stuff like Half-Life Alyx). Needs to be fairly beefy pc (CPU: i5-4590 or above, GPU: GTX1060 or above).
You can also use SideQuest to play even more "unofficial" standalone games like Doom 3 or original Half-Life which is pretty amazing.

>Is it better than a PSVR? I loved mine but it was all the cables that put it off me.
Ive used the PSVR and yup, the cables are super annoying, as well as terrible tracking on the controls. I really wish Astrobot and Farpoint was on SteamVR! Anyway, the Quest 2 is much sharper with no screendoor effect. Also supports same refresh rate as PSVR of 90Hz. As well as 72 and 120!
Some cons Ive found with the Quest 2:
Hope that helps.
I got this one and I'm quite pleased with it:

It's cheap and it gets the job done. I love it.
Look at your motherboard specs to see how much W is outputting on that USB port. (Watts = Volts * Amps) Look up how much V is on that USB port and how much amps and do the math. You need 10W.
Easiest is to buy an usb-c pd wall charger or battery bank.
You can use them for your phone as well.
Buy a brand you would trust on your smartphone.
The quest requires minimum 10W when it’s off. I think it needs 12W to do pass through. Id suggest 20W or higher so it’ll future proof for the next few years.
This is what I bought (non affiliate link). I use it for my phone and the quest.
Anker 2-Pack 20W foldable prong wall charger
In terms of the cable, the official cable can do 5gbps.
That’s usb 3.1 gen 1 speeds.
You can buy usb 3.1 gen 2 cables. 10gbps.
Charge cables and data cables are not the same.
Make sure whatever cable you buy is the right speeds.
The only other suggestion I have is buy magnetic adapters.
These are the ones I bought. They are capable of usb 3.1 gen 2.
If you charge, or jump cables often enough, it’s worth it.

For 1), I strongly recommend the BOBOVR M2 strap. My face was hurting after using the original strap for an hour. The Elite strap was better but the BOBOVR is the best: no more pressure on face.
Check out the Amazon reviews: https://www.amazon.com/BOBOVR-M2-Replacement-Pressure-Comfortable/dp/B08YR8LFH3#customerReviews
I purchased both the M2 and F2 on aliexpress (2-weeks of delivery but much cheaper).
I even got the BOBOVR F2 (fan) to avoid lens fog (it happens after hours of exercising within the VR world).

There is a 10 ft and a 16 ft. I couldn't imagine going lower than 16 ft.
If you can get the Logitech ones that are custom length for the Oculus, they're pretty good quality. The major bonus, besides the custom length, is that the cord is very durable without being stiff. I will admit that The audio quality is about average. Nothing amazing.

No, it's the foam and soaks up sweat.
I've had this for 6 months and wipe it down maybe once a week and no issues anymore.
I was skeptical of using a silicone seal but it really is nice.
I'm using this Anker 10000mAh battery pack - no issues here! Lasts a long time, charges quick. I use a strip of velcro and fasten it to the back of my headset like this - it also kinda helps balance the weight!
I use this AMVR upgrade to the factory strap. It makes it way more comfortable, doesn't break the bank, and still fits nicely in a travel case.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08V4L2GHV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_EHG0TR5704PBSZ7FNBPF
Get new in case there is a problem. I had to return mine because it developed two problems. No issues with the replacement and i use it nearly every day.
Also, get a silicone cover for the foam face thing, unless you like the idea of putting a sponge full of old sweat on your face. :)
Hi, you should consider getting a set of controller covers. Here is what I have. You don't have to keep a tight grip on the controllers. Also helps with accidentally dropping them.
