You can kind of see that Posey really started sprinting towards 3rd in this video. To be honest, I feel like if Rizzo is going to take such an aggressive take on second he should have challenged the throw from Panik to Posey all the way across the diamond... but it worked for the Giants, so it's all good haha
Schoenfield believes. here's the page with the breakdown from every level of the playoffs http://www.espn.com/mlb/playoffs2015/story/_/page/playoffs16_expertpredictions/espn-experts-make-their-predictions-mlb-playoffs a lot of people say we are going to win the Wildcard then lose after that. Schoenfield however is ready to ride the even year, chosing the Giants to win it all. amusingly not one person thinks the Doogers will win it all, large number seem to think they'll make it to the championship series, one thinks they'll make it to the WS but lose.
Seems the cub hype train is pretty large too, be interesting to see if they can keep it up.
It is my birthday today and the best gift I could recieve is the Giants not being swept by the Marlins.
Also, in case you haven't seen the threads already, I'm toying with the idea of setting up a softball game meetup for /r/sfgiants. Please fill out this poll if you are interested in attending.
I'll just kick things off with this
In other butt news, I just figured out that I saw a picture of Matt Harvey's ass in a dress on Halloween. Didn't even recognize him...
Day 2 of job searching. I have a couple leads that I'm going to be applying for today, which is good. I also saw this job listing for an Etsy clothing store in Gilbert. Is this legit?
Edit #1: Job application complete for Target. First job application done for the day. Yay!
No one mentioned Unlocator? It's only like $5/mo and works way better than VPN services IMO. It uses DNS and only redirects the traffic responsible for geographic detection. I used it all last season with . It worked incredibly well and with multiple different platforms (home PC and work iMac). Sometimes it had problems with Netflix so I'd have to reset my DNS setting on my computer back to default from time to time.
I know this isn't quite what you're looking for, but I'm told that if you do a beer enema you'll absorb the alcohol more quickly than if you drank them -- as close to intravenous as possible. be careful not to use ice cold beer, however, as it will dramatically lower your core temp and can be dangerous. also, I wouldn't try more than 3 at one time.
EDIT: apparently alcohol enemas are dangerous. I do not recommend this procedure.
EDIT2: here's an example of someone doing a beer enema -- a butt chug
Got a high ankle sprain coming down from a rebound yesterday. Don't want to get out of bed but I'm hungry.
Pence beat Dee Gordon in the fitbit challenge by over 50k steps
Is it just me or does clicking this link to order the KNBR CD show a blank space for the Donation Amount when opened on mobile?? Online it says it's $30 for 1, $50 for 2, and $70 for 3 copies. Good option for those who can't make it to a Dugout Store at least.
Have a great birthday Zen!
Probably my favorite ESPN baseball writer. He runs their Sweetspot blog here: http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/
He does Q&A every tuesday around 1pm or something and just comes across as a really good dude with a good sense of humor, which is probably why he picked the Giants. Also a long suffering mariners fan.
There's an Ask Reddit thread on who would you want to be the voice of your GPS. I've been using waze quite a bit lately and I can't help thinking what a gold mine those answers must be for the app developers. Currently they have Arnie as the Terminator as a voice selection and they used to have Vlade Divac and Leandro Barbosa(the other GOAT) during the NBA playoffs. Does anyone else use it?
I just get em from the Giants webpage. Gameday will have recent videos of big plays, homeruns are a given. I use gifcam, record at 33fps. The program is a little finicky, but it's quick and easy to use. Then I clean it up a little, and upload it to gfycat.
Using Unlocator and MLBTV subscriptions for about 4 years now. It works great for being in the blackout zone.
SiriusXM internet MLB streams are much clearer than the MLB streams for radio broadcasts. It is pretty bad when the MLB subscription you pay for has a lower quality. They could do allot better at this.
If you can believe it, Middle Oregon is in the blackout zone for Giants, A's, and Mariners MLBTV broadcasts. Totally ridiculous!
O_o No words.
But in all seriousness, Koalafornia is pretty cool. They have a lot more room for koalas now and the whole facility is a massive upgrade. Just look at this sleepy bear! And additionally, lot more educational stuff regarding conservation and the like. One of my favorite things about the SDZ, they're huge on education.
Good morning everyone!
Some random musings:
Have a great day, everyone!
You don't need a full VPN, and that might slow your streaming anyway.
Look into Smart DNS services. I've used Unlocator, but there are cheaper options. These services just trick the streamer into thinking you're somewhere else in the world.
What browser are you using? I found the FoxyProxy addon for Firefox works well. Get a proxy from here and click on the game link from there.
In honor of playing the D-Backs, let us never forget the time Bob Brenly was suspended for 14 games for charging the field from the bullpen during a brawl when he was the Giants' bullpen coach. I can't find the video (it's amazing), but here is the article from the day after the brawl.
http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/11153057/sergio-romo-san-francisco-giants-removed-closer
Three blown saves is all it took to convince Bochy it was time to take Romo out. The fuck is up with him and Casilla?
GUYS GUYS GUYS. Burrell is still on the DL and can't be released for another 3 days.
Here's Bagg's take: https://twitter.com/#!/extrabaggs/status/96418440818065409
And Schulman's: https://twitter.com/#!/hankschulman/status/96417367608926208
Plus, CSN was the one who broke the story...and they're the ones who said it was going to be Peguero/Culberson to be traded (they never mentioned Wheeler).
I worked yesterday. I got tipped by the cute girls that were either lesbians or were both single, so my ego is about as high as it can get right now.
Also, this dude spelled my name wrong >:(
It uses Go (golang) and AppEngine as the platform. It's about 400 lines right now.
There's actually a bit of extra stuff in there, because I've been compiling data for different team subreddits (since I like to visit their GDTs as well sometimes, especially when we're playing them)
I use unlocator in SF with MLBTV on my PS4. Super cheap and as easy as changing a few numbers in my internet settings. Unlocator also works with the international version of NBA league pass for Warriors games, but with that one I chromecast it from my laptop.
Last night, I finally beat Rebuild, the zombie apocalypse management game on the hardest difficulty (nightmare). I've been trying to for 3 years now and has lost count of how many games I've failed.
I'm still riding that completing-a-long-sought-after goal high through lunch today. I wonder how long it can last.
what Mets fans don't remember, or don't choose to remember, is that David Wright got voted onto the 2009 All-Star game when Pablo Sandoval had better numbers than him... and Sandoval didn't even make the AS Roster.
I am here, bow before me.
Anyway, all applications are done online (http://www.costco.com/jobs.html) (https://wfa.kronostm.com/index.jsp?locale=en_US&APPLICATIONNAME=CostcoNonReqExt). No number calling should be done unless they're calling you for an interview.
EDIT: But going in to talk to the supervisors might help you get noticed. Mine love people who are willing/ look like they actually want to be there.
Rizzo, Russell and Baez all don't. I don't know why it came up in an interview, but it did.

I just looked for you, if you can get to the airport in 20 minutes: [snip] $593 RT.
Edit: Didn't know tinyurl was bad...
It's not complicated at all. I use gifcam since it's super easy to use. Just size it over a video. I 'record' the gif at 33fps to get it nice and smooth, but it makes the filesizes huge. Gfycat lets you play it as HTML5 video, which is way more efficient than a gif. However, you'll notice that you can switch it to gif if you want.
This may have gotten buried earlier. KNBR with Kruk/Kuip stream.
http://mixlr.com/superplatypus57/
In sync with the online FoxSportsGO stream if you have a good internet connection. Much more enjoyable than listening to those clowns on FOX.
Hey guys did you know Around the Foghorn has a podcast? I just found it while looking for more Giants related podcasts. Also, happy pizza Friday (for me at least)!
A long time ago on here someone recommended service to me. It is DNS that changes your location automatically for you. It's not VPN but works great. It is a little more expensive than something like Private Internet Access VPN which I have also used with success. You just need to manually select a location like Denver or Seattle before connecting the VPN.
I use a VPN (Private Internet Access) and paid ~$32/year of service. You install the program, set your location to somewhere outside of where each team is playing (Seattle is usually a sure bet) and you're set.
Works on , this wouldn't work on Apple TV unless you set up an AP through your computer and connect your Apple TV to that AP.
I have an sub and use Unlocator to get around local blackout restrictions. Then I hook the ol' laptop up to my hdtv with an hdmi cable and I'm good to go.
I use Unlocator. You can set the DNS settings on the device level to Unlocators DNS servers OR you can just set it on your router level and then all devices on that router will be unblocked. I'm using it right now. It's like $4.95 a month. But if you wanna be a real cheap bastard, they have 7 day free trials that just require an email. So you could just keep making trials if you really didn't have the extra 5 a month. I think it's useful because I love watching all the games on the home feed no matter what city I'm in.
/u/devinbhushan made an app for android to help get BB votes in, might want to take a look and use it, time is of the essence. Get those votes in!!!
At-Bat probably. Link Here. You can view scores, gametimes, and live gameday. I believe only live radio and TV are locked behind the fee.
i'm not willing to don a full spider costume but if I was gonna go to a Webby start in person I would absolutely wear this
Through some amateur internet sleuthing, I found this. On May 21st of this season, someone mentioned garlic fries at Safeco Field, at least.
ESPN Radio is your best bet.
PNC was rated #1 on TripAdvisor's list of top ballparks. OPACY, AT&T, Fenway, Busch, Target, Kauffman, Wrigley, CoPa, and Safeco rounded out rest of the top 10. (Kudos to the architecture firm Populous who designed six of those parks.)

Public House in Los Feliz (Sunset Blvd/Vermont Ave)
At least 5 Giants fans show up usually. During the World Series it was completely packed. In fact it was so packed that it actually caused traffic on Vermont Ave. Awesome.
The screen quality is not that good, unfortunately. My current wallpaper is a picture I took of the Golden Gate while I was there in December. It's the same as this, but I took this with my good camera so the quality is better. My phone is a fucking potato when it comes to pictures.
Well fuck, folks. Two writers in one day: News of Edward Albee's passing right before game time, and now just saw that W.P. Kinsella, author of Field of Dreams, has passed...
Shit!
I was watching the anime Hunter X Hunter on Netflix and realized Pence was a guest star in it.
excellent anime btw if you're into that stuff.
Its pretty easy to get the KNBR feed if you're interested. Im watching the game but listening to KNBR, 100 times better then game 1 when I had to listen to the TV guys.
Sirius/XM comes with the MLB package that carries every game with home and away broadcast. They’re always offering $5/mo specials but right now it looks like three months free.
Let's say, hypothetically, you wanted to watch a blacked out game on mlb.com. And let's also say that you have google chrome on your device. You could click here and maybe select the UK flag because you like biscuits and tea. In that case then you might find yourself back at MLB.com watching a blacked out game. Or you can find a pub, either way ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ つ ◕◕ ༽つ GIANTS TAKE MY ENERGY ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つつ ◕◕ ༽つ
Get NordVPN. It instantly bypasses the blackout restrictions for all the games on . There’s an app for Mac and Windows- just one click to connect, then launch safari or chrome, go to and the video feed loads perfectly. I watch all the games this way and never had problems. Even the all star/playoff games with a national blackout load perfectly with nord.
Not subject to blackout?
Speaking of which: does anybody have a working combination of android with a VPN that allows you to watch MLBTV (paid account) and avoid the regional blackouts? ProtonVPN gets me past the first check but then gets caught again. This is when using public WiFis that I guess could themselves contribute location, or the app is getting it from GPS.
I live outside the bay, and I'm bad at making decisions, so I haven't personally picked a VPN yet. But NYT's Wirecutter team.
And as for streaming through your phone - most VPNs worth their salt these days will apply to anything connected to your router, so as long as you're connected to Wi-Fi, the VPN should still work
It was on Public Broadcasting in the USA.
https://www.amazon.com/Nova-Australias-First-Billion-Blu-ray/dp/B00BQI4BS2
It'll probably be on streaming services once you guys get Internet.
There was a similar series on North American geological history called "Making North America".
Free MLBtv thru T-Mobile plus a Smart DNS and you’re golden. Just change the DNS on your devices once and you’re good to go, all other non-geolocation traffic works as normal and is full speed.
Unlocator is good if you just want something cheap for a few months. They usually have MLB season discounts for Smart DNS only and it’s like $2.50/month.
I don't know the specific answer you are looking for, but if CSNBA is offered in the area, my instinct is blackout.
You can also use a VPN and set it so some region outside California. Private Internet Access is reliable and reasonably priced and is how I listen to Kruk & Kuip when the Giants are playing in Texas.
So I'm trying on my PS4 with Unlocator for the first time this week using a free trial.
Admittedly I have a shitty audio setup because the ps4 is hooked up to a computer monitor and not an actual TV. But I'm wondering, the ads have been nice and loud on (lol) max volume, but when the CSN broadcast is on the sound is a bit quieter and it's kind of annoying because my setup is generally a bit quieter than preferable and I can't adjust it.
If you use your PS4 is CSN usually quieter for you too?
It seems to be working (I set my location to Canada):
It's ~$30 a year but download the SurfEasy app and test it out before you buy it because I can't make any guarantees. You get 500mbs or so as a free trial.
I switched ISP's this year and have faster speed as well so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. I do use the Chrome extension, Zenmate, so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. Any way GO GIANTS!
You're a real human bean, thanks. I pay $130 a season for and $5 a month for Unlocator, which worked like a champ until tonight.
Now every time I try to load the stream on Chrome or Firefox it gets stuck at 33%. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
No, but you can use a ton of services to get around that. On a router/DNS level you can use Unblock-us or unlocator (for your Roku/TV). On a browser level for your computer you can use something like Zenmate or Hula to get around blackouts (or if you're already using a service on your router level this is unnecessary).
I'm using PureVPN, with LA as my location just for performance reasons. If it has an OSX client, I'll check out Unblock-US.
Funny thing, within 30 seconds of talking shit about my provider, my stream puked. :/
You can use TunnelBear to make think you are in the UK. Once the game starts streaming, you can turn tunnelbear off and the feed will still work, since the verification is only once right at the beginning. However you cannot switch to a different game once the stream starts.
May take a few times to get right, but I did it for about a month recently.
Every night before a game I, um, yeah and then went to sleep in my Giants shirt. Then when I'd wake up early and shower before work (normally shower before bed so I get an extra 20 minutes of sleep). I didn't change out any part of my uniform nor threw away random trash I found in the pocket. So same sock, same underwear, same t-shirt, and same pants and coat. From Game 3 of the NLDS to Game 4 of the WS. I was quite happy they swept the Tigers.
Since I was watching the games at work, I brought a random baseball I had purchased for use as a stress ball and a beat up copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Sort of random, but somehow when I brought both objects we seemed to win. About half an hour to an hour before the game, I'd go to Rally Poo at a portajohn on the otherside of the motor pool. That started after Zito's amazing Game 5 NLCS performance. I went over there because it was the only one with enough light to read. Kept going because if something works, I'm not gonna change shit.
After I got to work, I did not leave for any reason. I was scheduled a couple half days, but took them at the office. I did not leave to get dinner. Instead I had coworkers pick me up soup and a sandwich, which was the only meal I ate all post season.
Honestly, there were a thousand other things I did during this post season with the intent to get the Giants their victory. But those are the main ones. I've put all my lucky undergarments in a bag not to be washed with soap, and I'm saving them for next year.
Here's the link if you're on android (I'm sure the appstore have it as well). The app itself is free and has some nice features (notifications for runs scored etc). You can pay to have access to radio streams of the games.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bamnetworks.mobile.android.gameday.atbat
/u/Dudew0 mentioned a great app already, but I just wanted to add that I love The Score app. I mainly use it for NBA/Raptors related news, score notifications etc., but all the major sports are listed.
these are the ones i have and use currently.
i did not make them and i don't know who did, so i'm afraid i can't give credit to the artist :(
Based on some of the responses to Larry Baer's end-of-season letter, today seems like another "Is Larry Baer actually a scumbag?" day on the sub.
Personally, I trust the judgement of beloved former broadcaster Hank Greenwald. I'm not sure how many folks on here have read his memoir, but in it, he had nothing but praise for Peter Magowan and nothing but derision for Larry Baer
Free VPN’s work, but are a pain. I use CyberGhost. Not free, but not expensive. I see every game whenever I want. Another solution for MLBTV is to wait until 90 minutes after the game and they lift the blackout. Just gotta avoid spoilers
damn, maybe i should buy that spiderweb tiara.
If we can't get one person to do a full costume, maybe a group wearing groot sunglasses and holding a "GOOD WOOD" sign?
So yes, noise cancelling device is super important!
I suggest not using ear plugs, as little ones can get very irritated and not want to have them in. As well, it requires custom fit ear plugs to reduce the dB level of noise at a ballpark and even then it will still get LOUD.
I 100% suggest splurging a bit for the over the ear covers, which are MUCH better at cancelling noise, so much the little one can even fall asleep. Like these ones:
https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Earmuffs-Infant-Hearing-Protection/dp/B007BEHSDU

I'm not recommending that brand Ive never used them, just trying to give you an idea of the kind of over-the-ear noise cancelling ear muffs to use. Spend a few minutes finding a good brand, and absolutely use those. Ear plugs are just not even close to enough for a 1 year old.
Google shopping has a bunch of them from various vendors.
Edit: On closer examination, they all (those that meet your criteria) appear to be from eBay, like Big_Stick_Nick said.
Edit2: Maybe this is what you're looking for.
Actually I advise against this. Most of all hotels on hotels.com offer free cancellation until the night before. You can even pay at hotel instead of now. By waiting to book until after the lockout ends, that could drive prices up a lot.
Yea I realize the article doesn't account for new rule changes and it also doesn't account for concussion protocols that are so important these days. I can't find good data on the Giants record when Posey plays first vs catcher but I did find this it says the Giants win roughly 5% more games when Posey is playing. Not as high as I would have thought but who knows and this is only from one year. Posey has a nine year deal with the Giants and I wan't him to play all of them, hundreds of games at catcher will cost him career time is all I am saying. There's tons of data to back me up on this, you are living with a hope and a prayer that he doesn't get hurt.
Hey, I uploaded the design to TeeSpring if you want to get an XL or XXL. My buddy bought one off there before I had the others made and they look great. Here's the link if you want:
https://teespring.com/kruk-and-kuip
I just don't have the budget to get XL made at my local shop because they have a minimum order of 24 shirts.
Mike is NOT in a wheelchair, he has inclusion-body myositis and revealed this condition to ESPN in 2014.
Just saw it, that's awesome! Haha. I have him on a fantasy team too, so he's also helping me out by doing that. For others who might not have seen it. ~~I was about to thank the user who made that, then realized it was you! So thanks! Haha.~~ Thanks /u/Tks23.
Download the Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox and install the Download YouTube Video script so you can download these videos because it will be removed from YouTube shortly...
The Jersey is blank. I did some looking and found it elsewhere. The same style was sold on offerup, and I found another exact one which says this jersey's from the 90's.
I get where you're coming from. I can't say for sure, but your anti-virus should pick up on anything that might be fishy in it. McAfee says it's fine. Plus, it was once available for download from CNET (though it's not anymore). I get the impression that the program itself is safe but you should be cautious about what streams you open in it.
Let me share this link and tell you that I have bought multiple hats and jersey's from this and other sites like it. They are pretty damn good.
I'm basing this off what Ive seen when watching baseball games at family dinners. From the table I can see the tv in the mirror and righty swings look like lefties not just by virtue of them being on the other side of the plate, but because it's like seeing a righty as though the camera angle were over the pitchers left side instead of over the pitchers right side (as is the standard for all broadcasts).
Check out this flip of mcgwire's ungainly hack turned smoother by mirroring: http://deturl.com/mirror-flip.asp?v=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MES2SbFj2vk
You can do it w videos of better quality by pasting the YouTube url after the = sign.

this one basically the same with minor differences. The anchor and chain is just how they usually look. It would've been a nice touch but they would've also made it much more on the nose and probably just be font

People who do that do. VPNs are common and the people who do this kind of crap tend to make throw-away accounts to do this crap.
And it's easy to do. Nord. Surfshark. IPVanish. Proton.
I know people who do it because they're world travelers. They want to watch Netflix on the iPad at the hotel in Australia or Fiji... NordVPN to the rescue...
Maybe they just need a new dead cat
It’s the documentary MLB makes for every World Series winner. I have all of them for each World Series win.
Although it’s gouged in price 10 years later it’s on Amazon.
2010 San Francisco Giants: The Official World Series Film [Blu-ray + DVD Combo] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041SI7F2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nxeOFbZ6JXYT9
Use a VPN for your internet connection to get around the blackout restriction. There’s a lot of them out there. I’ve used in the past. Works great and I got a whole season of Giants games for free (except for the cost of the VPN).
(free because I'm a T-Mobile customer) and Unlocator. For me it ends up being $35 for the whole season. Beats a $90/mo cable bill for 100 cooking shows and the 1 channel I actually want to watch (CSN)
I had some luck two years ago with using a VPN, but that restricted me to only watching on computers and I think the VPN ( Private Internet Access) would cause the stream to degrade or have errors. Last year I got a DNS service and was able to watch every game from opening day through the last pitch of the World Series on either my Apple TV or my PS4.
Last season I used UnoTelly's DNS service to get around the blackout restrictions. It was only $5 a month. I'll resubscribe once the season finally starts. I stream using an Intel NUC PC running Windows 10, Kodi and the plugin for Kodi.
I've used VPNs before, but typically found the performance very inconstant (sometimes I would encounter stuttering and frequent buffering). Maybe the services that I tried were not very good though.
Try using Zenmate to avoid the blackout, it's a better VPN alternative than Hola.
I've used it for a while now and works great for me.
I got a couple of these plus some stereo-to-mono single earbuds and we use them at games for listening to KNBR. The elastic arm band is flimsy so I just drop the radio in a shirt or jacket chest pocket and it works fine. We tried using one pocket radio with a Y-connector to use two sets of earbuds but whenever some guy in the middle of the row wanted to go for a beer or whatever it was awkward. If a radio like this works for a couple of seasons and then fails, it's so cheap it's no big deal. A single earbud allows you to hear surrounding sounds too which is nice, I use it when I'm on our exercise machine so I can hear if the phone rings or whatever.
"Hey Boch"
"yeah"
"Let's say there's a runner on third"
"yeah"
"And you have Buster Posey up at the plate"
"yeah"
"Would you rather have Posey try to get a hit or try to produce an out"
"well, i would rather take the hit"
"Wait, really?
"yeah. we only have twenty-seven outs in a game, so each one is precious. a hitter should ALWAYS be trying to get on base"
"Yeah, but in this situation there's a runner at third"
"and? a hitter should NEVER be trying to get himself put out"
Also, I've only seen Moneyball once and thought it was a pretty mediocre movie. They got rid of the actual baseball analysis (that definitely would have bored most people) and added a ridiculous conflict between Art Howe and Billy Beane that never existed.
Look, dude, I get it: hearing that the VAST majority of people in the field are realizing that your way of thinking is wrong is a SCARY thought; you've believed something to be true most of your life and all of a sudden other people are telling you with OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS that you are OBJECTIVELY WRONG. The good news is that it's not too late for you to open yourself up to the GOOD NEWS. Do yourself a favor: pick up this book
give it an honest chance (it's well-written on top of being informative) and open yourself up to the idea that people like Andrew Friedman (who turned the Rays into a perennial cellar dweller to contenders) and Theo Epstein (literally ended the two longest droughts in MLB history) know what the fuck they're talking about.
I cut the cable and got one of these. So far I'm fairly happy
edit: A single amazon search turned this up... https://www.amazon.com/Giants-Buster-Official-Baseball-Witness/dp/B01CM6UFHM/ref=sr_1_1?s=collectibles&ie=UTF8&qid=1474990225&sr=1-1&keywords=buster+posey+signed+baseball
$150 for a signed WS baseball with the man's name on it.
if you want to really surprise your friend, they have mint cond. Buster Posey rookie year baseball cards on Amazon and those are almost certain to appreciate with time.
I will stop just short of promising you, you will not get a buster posey autograph at a game. fan fest would be really tough and a wait until next spring.
tbh, get him a signed ball or shirt on amazon. there are loads of them. you could probably get two pieces of signed memorabilia (cheap stuff like balls) fro $200. Might not be buster posey, though.
sorry if this is getting too long to make this point, but the guy knows how valuable his name is now.
