A lot of people across the country that can't afford the high rent rates are turning to living in RVs permanently.
I suggest reading a book called "Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century" (hyperlink - click on words)
Or watching this video with the author (hyperlink - click on words)
It's almost certainly a joke.
The left-side image shows up in many articles online about possums, including this one. I think it's a go-to stock image.
The right-side image even shows up in past internet postings joking about a lost cat.
Highly recommend visiting Big Basin state park and hiking to Berry Creek Falls. You can do the shorter out & back or the longer loop.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/berry-creek-falls-trail
do you know much about big O Notation? Like how Linear Search runs in O(n) and how binary search run in O(logn)? If you don't I would recommend googling concepts like > binary search
> merge sort
> quick sort
> linked lists
>stacks
>queues
>trees and binary search trees
> hash table
> graphs and depth first search and breadth first search
> heaps
For those concepts, I would recommend learning how to use Java, C++ , or python instead of javascript while studying.
After knowing about those topics, I personally recommend practicing interview questions here: > https://leetcode.com/problemset/all
start with easy quesions then work your way up to medium then hard
As for creating a resume, I would ask the people of r/cscareerquestions for help. Every Saturday and Tuesday, they have a Resume Advice Thread.
While learning about the concepts I listed and practicing questions in my link, I would devote an hour or 2 a day to use react to build a project(s) that will catch eyes for your resume
See the sidebar over there ? --->
There's a Google Group that acts as a mailing list for all these types of events. I think last Tuesday they did a board game night (tends to be at SJSU or San Pedro Square), and on Wednesday they're doing trivia at O'Flaherty's. And on Thursdays a group usually goes to a dive bar in Santa Clara.
I don't know of any regular hiking meetups, but I'd totally be down for that. Ditto for paintball. Maybe you should organize one :)
Check the surrounding hood just in case his car was not running maybe he parked it nearby and ran. Might not be his car. Also post on Nextdoor.com for that area if you are local.
> Skating in downtown San Jose!
Just check the weather before you visit. I swear, construction of the ice rink is just a signal for rainy weekends to start.
It's not called grade C anymore. It's called "Grade A: very dark color and strong taste" or some variation of that. You can get it shipped free same day Prime from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Highland-Sugarworks-Maple-Strong-Packing/dp/B00A2N7FA8/
Santa Clara County Library has Zelda. You can use WorldCat to search for the title you want, put in your ZIP code, and it will tell you what libraries near you have it.
To be honest? If it's a dusty as mine was after 6 months, I might let it keep sitting. However, that risk might not be worth it to you.
Edit: Mine has 3 layers of protective wax. So eh, I'd probably wash it! And if you have a garage indoors, slap some layers of Collinite 845 on it yourself https://www.amazon.com/Collinite-845-Insulator-Wax-Fluid_Ounces/dp/B000JK2D06/
On the other hand, you should have been taking it out for a drive once every 3-4 weeks to get the tires rolling, gas flowing, and burning off any condensation in the motor -- albeit with the most important factor being your battery.
Besides, your battery is probably dead unless you unhooked it or had a tender on it?
Groupon. Got a ticket in Novermber, took traffic school, paid the fine and now it's off my record.

Lost tortoises
Two of our tortoises have escaped the back yard. One is a Hermann's, the other is a Russian. They disappeared last week and have not returned. If you find them, they need water and romaine lettuce. Please contact me ASAP so they can be returned for a small reward. (These are stock photos, but ours look very similar.)
I live in the neighborhood and have been monitoring that Nextdoor thread. I agree with the general assumption that it's illegal fireworks, which seems, per Occam's razor, to be the likeliest (it started right after July 4th, and it sounds like a loud firework). Whoever it is seems to set off one per day, usually sometime between 9:00-10:30pm. I'm not quite close enough (I live near Kirk Park) to help pinpoint, but it seems your location is generally correct.
For anyone in the area, or who have family in the area, here's the Nextdoor link: https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=87442694&comment=193186079
Bike locks are fairly weak protection regardless, and an electric bike is an especially valuable target. If you get another one, consider a lock like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007EW31R6/ . It's still not going to stop someone with unlimited time, but it is tough enough to resist most hand tools and the lock itself is hard enough to resist most picks. Someone with a noisy grinder and lots of time could still get through it though. Downside is it's heavy and expensive.
If you have renter's insurance, or homeowners, call your insurance as you may be able to file a claim here. I know it seems weird, but these plans often have clauses for valuables even if not stolen from your home.
Also check out Good Karma bikes, in San Jose. They are a non profit and can probably hook you up with a refurbished bike free of charge, probably not an electric one but talk to them and see what's what.
To everyone else in the thread, please be careful of scams. I'm not claiming this is one, but don't send money to strangers on the internet with a story and a stock photo.
Yes thank you for this great tip. i myself have been using a Bluetooth OBD 2 scanner from ebay/amazon for like $10. And it connects to an android app call Torque Pro which tells me what the code is and I can google it from the app to find out more. Amazing combo. I can scan the code instantly from my parking space.

Checked a few other cities including SF, Fremont, Oakland, San Mateo. I haven't seen anything greater than 2,000 except for San Jose. Wondering if this number is even possible? Seems extreme.

Edit: link to source
Indeed, the last meetup was a great success. We had a lot of people attend. I'd also like to point out the google group which is also located on the sidebar. We have weekly events which are always advertised there.
Hope to see some of you there!
I'm gonna try the roof of my house.
Btw, I'm not advocating it, but I've been on Mission Peak well after 10pm. They definitely don't send rangers up after people, so the only risk would be your car - don't park in the lot, but on a street nearby.
Edit: for others interested, eclipse starts at 9:55, full eclipse from 12:08 to 1:23, ends at 3:36am.
There is a place on Lincoln avenue that has good reviews, cucina bambini. They seem to have different groupons from time to time.

Currently they are doing a pasta groupon so may not fit your diet need: https://www.groupon.com/biz/san-jose/cucina-bambini
For those interested, the report is here (pdf). The lists of intersections per city starts on page 18.
I'm surprised all of Campbell Avenue isn't bright red.
For Yosemite, if you don't want to sit on a bus all day, you can mix in a few trains: Caltrain SJ to Millbrae station, cross over to BART; BART to the Amtrak Richmond station; Amtrak to Merced station, YARTs bus from Merced station to Yosemite.
Alternatively and a lot faster, you can fly into Merced's airport for cheap from Oakland airport, then take YARTS into Yosemite.
Awesome! I've always enjoyed those drives - and have tended to break it up a bit with a little geocaching, as well. The restaurant certainly has a great "local" feel, and we've always enjoyed our time chatting with people there (I remember a particularly memorable day with local cattle drives up and down the road ... a bit of a departure from day-to-day life in the valley, eh?).
Also, another good stop if you go out the Patterson side: Pea Soup Anderson's in Gustine (south of Patterson). It's essentially 10-15 minutes North of the 152/5 intersection.

You will likely be better off with noise-isolating headphones. A simple trick is to use your preferred earbud style headphones with noise reducing earmuffs like these. Or there are earmuffs combined with headphones like these.

They're actually great, especially when you have no other options. Improvements I made to mine when I lived in San Jose were to seal everything with tape like you said, and insulate the exhaust tube with aluminum foil.
Insulating the exhaust tube dropped the outside temperature of the tube from 130°+ to 80-90°. It also made a noticeable difference in how long my apartment stayed cool.
The biggest problem was dealing with waste water. It's not something I'd considered before buying the unit. Typically, I'd l leave a hose running into a bucket, and empty it every four or six hours, depending on humidity. When I went on long trips, and had to leave my cat at home, I'd do the following.
Switch out the bucket for a 60 quart plastic storage tub.
Set up a cheap security camera to watch the water level.
Set up an infrared remote hub with a temperature sensor, like this one.
Turn on the air conditioner whenever the temperature in the apartment reached a certain point.
This setup kept my cat cool, and allowed me to visit my mom in another state before she passed.
Didn't quite mean for the story to go on that long. Point is, those standing units do the job.
I use this one. I put it in my backyard leaning against the wall. I don't put it in the air. I can get channels 2, 5, 7, and all those.

I wish I could help you but I'm in a different state at the moment. :/
I recommend on top of jumper cables you purchase a battery jump starter. Amazon
Try one these garbage bin locks out. They’re fairly cheap and on amazon.
If they cannot place things in your trash bins, I’m sure they will stop coming around.
I checked the 10 day forecast graph yesterday on wunderground- the temperature plot did not go below 70 AT ALL until next Thursday.

Hiking at a local trail or around a lake. Exercise is great for improving mental health. Plus there’s fresh air and nice scenery which will help. Take some food (maybe picnic) to have when taking a break from walking.
Here are some trails you can filter by difficulty, length, etc https://www.alltrails.com/us/california/san-jose
Correction, the airstrikes approved by Obama this week are against the Syrian military NOT ISIS. This is different that we are targeting a sovereign nations military (not fighting terrorists all over the world like we've been). Do you not understand the difference? Are you dense or something?
What does global political situations have to do with the Bay Area? Everything.

I don't mean to rain on this person's business, but he's full of shit when talking about iPhones. If you go into an Apple Store, Apple will not ship your phone out; all the repairs are in-store (unless they are out of inventory on a part, at which point they will order it specifically for the customer and alert them when it gets there). If you have an iPhone 5 or newer, you can absolutely get your screen replaced using their in-house calibration tool. Pricing are as follows:
https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/screen-damage/
For anything before an iPhone 5, they will swap the entire device for you. Prices are as follows:
https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/other/
In addition, please keep in mind that if there is physical damage to the screen, there may be physical damage to other parts of the phone (battery, speakers, logic board, etc) Will this person's prices cover those damages as well?
I want this person's business to succeed, but misleading potential customers is not the correct way to do so.

It should help you understand the grammatical structure of Korean.
You can. It's one of the tougher climbs in the Bay Area, especially the Hicks Rd segment which is about 12% grade for 1.4 miles.
I would say I'm an advanced amateur.
I really like landscapes and taking photos at night because you can do so much with lights but really I'm open to anything that isn't portraits.
I really enjoy the look of a lot of photos on https://unsplash.com/. I know there's all sorts of subjects in that site but I really like their overall feel
If you're free on Friday, July 22nd, I'm launching my Photographic Exhibit in Downtown San Jose. It's free and there will be tons of things to do, including free karaoke, photobooth, and music provided by The Bangerz (the guys that make Jabbawockeez music). There will also be korean BBQ burritos and ice cream. Furthermore, we're giving away a photo/design package worth $5k.
Here's the link to the event: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=226084930747623
It should be a down-to-earth vibe, and it's freeeee. If you come out and find me, i'll have a caucasian vietnamese coffee shop girl hand deliver a cone of the best ice cream in all of silicon valley for all of reddit to see.
~~Groupon has a deal for Cucina Bambini for pasta making classes.~~

I got that link from San Jose Spotlight news article
I think you mean tagging though right?
Tagging isn't art, it's the dog equivalent of pissing on something to mark territory.
Been thinking of trying to talk city council into allowing artists to interface with our graffitti app, and let them paint pre-approved designs over tagging.
Right now we just paint with the base color, basically giving them a fresh canvas. Would be way more strategic to have artists paint something custom over the tagging, since the irregular colors and shapes would break the tags up.
Definitely Mount Hamilton! I am on mobile and I don't know it better, here is a link: http://www.everytrail.com/guide/mount-hamilton Quite a hike, but the best view ever! Also, visit the Lick Observatory, you'll be impressed.
I can sign you up for a library card if you want maybe, they offer teamtreehouse.com which is the best IMO for learning any type of programming. Just DM and I can see what we can do.

You would be better off finding a decorative alternative or something like the amazon link below.
Amazon baby.
Woodsman Beard Oil is awesome. $20 may seem steep but it lasts forever so it really isn't that bad. My wife loves the smell of it as well.
As for beard combs... ehh. I don't know what brand mine is but it works fine. I can't imagine other combs being that much better. Also an Amazon purchase.
History San Jose used to (maybe still does) publish books once in a while as a premium for members. You'll sometimes find them at garage sales, thrift stores, or maybe in the History San Jose gift shop.
Aside from those, one interesting one is <em>The Alameda: The Beautiful Way</em> by Shannon Clark. I believe she(?) was a grad(?) student at SCU when she wrote this. You should be able to get it at Recycle Books on The Alameda if you prefer to support a local business instead of Amazon.
There's also one called Sunshine, Fruit, and Flowers you'll find around a lot --- it's a reprint of some old brochures that were made to advertise Santa Clara County to potential land purchasers from back east. This might be one of the History San Jose books.
I'm sure there are many more, but those are the ones I have handy to talk about.
Oh! If you have a 4wd you’re good to go. I take my Subaru Impreza up all the time and I haven’t had any issues so far. Walmart might be an option for chains if Amazon can’t help.
Edit: a friend recommended these: https://www.amazon.com/Security-Chain-Z-571-Performance-Traction/dp/B001H9GPIO/ref=sr_1_11?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1479656586&sr=1-11&keywords=tire+chains&tag=viglink20350-20&th=1&psc=1

And get a Clipper card, load cash on it (and set up auto load for peace of mind) and just tap it whenever you get on. Most agencies around the Bay accept clipper
If you don’t have any access to a driveway/hose, you should definitely look into using Optimum No Rinse (ONR) (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D8DR0AO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_50-wFbK5W64AR) wash method.
Usually all you need is ONR, Microfiber towels (I use Costco Kirkland brand $15 ish for a pack of 35), a bucket, and a spray bottle (with some ONR in it)
You can look up the ONR wash method (it’s everywhere on the internet/Reddit). It makes cleaning your car much easier without using soap. Though if your car is caked in dirt and grime, I’d recommend just getting Meguiars Gold Glass car wash (less than $10). Definitely avoid using regular dish soap unless your intention is to strip off any wax/sealants that is already on your car.
If there are any questions you have, feel free to message!
I would like to suggest you use My Selfless Act, where you get any kind of volunteer opportunities. I've done a few animal welfare opportunities and It's the best platform to find volunteer work nearby you. There is no short-term or long-term commitment you can volunteer when you want.
I am using Winegard FL5500A FlatWave Amped Digital HD Indoor Amplified TV Antenna (4K Ready / ATSC 3.0 Ready / High-VHF / UHF), 60 Mile Long Range since 2014. I get all those channels .
This is on the peninsula but we thought it was a nice hike, and a little different from the grassy hills you get so often here: Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/arroyo-and-toyon-trail?p=-1

You don't have to worry about explosions. CO2 canisters are safe. Carbonic services won't refill a canister that hasn't been properly tested and inspected. And the gas, obviously, isn't flammable. You also don't have to worry about suffocation, because your body detects CO2 in the blood (since we generate it through cellular respiration). You will feel like you're suffocating and seek fresh air before you actually do, even while asleep. But since CO2 is heavier than air, the only way that could happen with a little 5 lb or 10 lb bottle is if you're laying on the floor of a closet and you open the bottle in there with you. So just... don't do that. As far as compressed gasses go, CO2 is about the safest.
Also, the tanks aren't big and heavy. A 5 lb CO2 bottle has 5 lbs of CO2 in it, and the bottle weighs another 7.5 lbs. So a 5lb CO2 canister weighs 12.5 lbs, and it's this big. You could keep this in a garage or shed easily until you need it. Set it on the counter to refill bottles, and then go put it back. I refill my 5lb CO2 bottle (for my kegerator) at carbonic services for like $25? Somewhere around there. And it lasts me several 5gallon and 2.5 gallon kegs. 10 lb bottles aren't much bigger, I only run a 5lb because it fits better behind my kegerator against the wall.
I've never messed with soda stream bottles, so I can't recommend anything specifically. But it looks like amazon has lots of products that can do it. Like this one. https://www.amazon.com/Soda-Stream-Refill-Adapter-Kit/dp/B08PDXZYLH/ref=sr_1_6?
Wouldn't you know it.

This morning it said 58% chance of rain.
Now it's down to 38%.
At this rate it will not happen.
It's the opposite. North-bound is fine (pm, correct?) during those hours unless, of course, there's an accident. Drive slow and have fun!
You might see if Palermo sells it. They use it in carbonara, according to reports (and indirectly their menu that says "italian bacon"), and they call themselves a "restaurant/deli", but that doesn't mean they necessarily sell the meat by itself.
They might be able to say where they got it, though.
Best $400 bucks you'll ever spend. It's not going to keep your house as cold as central A/C, but it will make it relatively comfortable.
Trust me on this one and you're welcome in advance.
I just got this because the ants here have been making me absolutely insane. I put a few drops and haven’t seen any ants inside for two weeks (fingers crossed)

Well... there's a Tractor Supply in Gilroy, which would avoid shipping (I think they only sell anthracite, though, which isn't great for blacksmithing).
No ideas other than Amazon (here's one with free shipping, but no idea if it's a reasonable price).
No problem! Btw, I think the country of origin may be Saudi Arabia, in which case that would change the range of grocery stores to check.

I use Ortho Home Defense every 4 months or so. I lock my pets in my bedroom for the night and spray the perimeters of the interior. By morning it's dry and safe for animals and children to be around. I usually spray the bedroom the next day and shut the cats out, then spray a little around the outside, focusing on doorways and the garage.
i installed a $50 3M scale inhibitor filter on my hot water line years ago and we've never had scale/residue problems since. seems the price has gone up on Amazon to around $75 now, but it does work as long as you change the filters every 6 months.
If I am lazy and just want some thing quick, I just put an instant teabag and fill 1/3 of a tall glass, wait for like 4-5 min and pour whole milk to 2/3 of the glass and some boba in. Instant comfy in instant time. However, when I want to treat myself, I usually use my glass tea brewer with a metal filter core (mine look like this) and put some actual loose tea leaves and water (my go to is black, oolong and jasmine) in and boil them for about 25-30 min. Wait for them too cool and put mix of half-half and heavy cream. Recently, I am really enjoying chrysanthemum bud tea and thai tea.
Last summer we had a bunch of Alligator Lizards that decided our shed was the perfect habitat. We used this stuff - worked pretty great.
RO filter into a zero water dispenser...
Pros: Cleanest tasting water
Cons: Have to buy filters/ and change them every couple of months. (I buy the 4-packs, lasts me a year)

I’ve tried everything from pur to brita and they do not work. They could improve the ppm a little bit but would not be able to make it actually safe for drinking ( less than 50ppm ). San Jose ground water is usually 350 - 550 ppm. Your best bet ( if you are just looking for drinking water from faucet ) is to get a reverse osmosis with mineral revitalize. Here’s what I’m using and happy so far: https://www.amazon.com/Express-Water-Alkaline-Reverse-Filtration/dp/B00MU20LN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=2STAKG5SRJWQN&keywords=express+reverse+osmosis+system&qid=1650765330&sprefix=express+rever%2Caps%2C129&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&a...
I use APEC RO 90.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HRHHFPW
If you wish to install yourself, it might worth it to get some water pressure sensor first. The system want to see 40 PSI and above for it to work well, so if your pressure at faucet is less than that consider getting the version with pump.
Also it would be easier if your sink have some place ready for the filtered water dispenser to go through. If not you might need to change your kitchen faucet to those type that have filtered water faucet to avoid drilling through your countertop.
The taste is much, much better. I am in the service area of great oak water and they use well water. 3M filter made the water drinkable but still not good in any stretch. I often need to drop a tad bit of lemonade into my water to make it easier to drink.
Now I just pour a 30 oz glass and drink it up in one go. No hesitation and no aftertaste.

One problem I had with my previous apartment was the noise of the AC unit in the bedroom. You don't want it to kick on in the middle of the night. Highly recommend getting a slightly oversized AC and putting it in the living room. Maybe use a fan to circulate the air.

I cannot stress this enough. Cover your windows with this tint. I have it on all my windows that face the sun. You will notice an immediate change in temperatures in your apartment.
It helps even on double paned windows.

Paid my plumber friend to install it and have been using potassium chloride from Costco. No issues at all.
I have this Watts Premier Pure Plus RO system and can recommend it. The big advantage of this system is that all of the filters can be replaced very easily with the press of a button. Yes, you are probably paying slightly more for the replacement filters, but I think the price is well worth the ease and convenience.
Watts Premier 531417 RO Pure Plus (VOC) Reverse Osmosis w/Brushed Nickel, Top-Mount Twist Faucet
I used to have the old-style RO where the filter are inside a big housing. Those systems have cheaper filters, but are a huge pain to replace because when you unscrew the housing, a lot of water spills out and it's hard to do the replacement under the sink. It became such a pain that I dreaded replacing the filters and stopped doing on schedule. But at that point, there's no point in having the RO since I'm not maintaining it. That's when I realized I should pay to replace it with the new style above.
Here is an example of the old style RO that I would not recommend.
The plumbing part of the installation is not that hard if you're slightly handy. The biggest challenge is drilling a hole on your counter top for the faucet. If you're not comfortable, then hiring someone makes sense.
I can't find the exact model I installed, but it was something close to this. Did it in the basement and routed it into the fridge in a few hours one weekend. I did add a boost pump, and a electric switch to control it in order to get a higher pressure in the tank so that flow is a bit higher.
We bought one of these two years ago and it's been great....

This replaced an old Kenmore RO system from Sears that was installed in 2003. The iSpring unit has a mineral cartridge to add back in some of the stuff plain RO systems strip out and that's been a plus. You could definitely taste the difference and even feel the difference in your mouth. I guess it's supposed to be better for you to have those minerals in the water.
We live in an area with really poor water pressure (40 psi on a good day) which makes the RO system less efficient and take longer to refill the tank. If you have decent pressure the same system without the pump is much cheaper....

Since we already had an RO system I didn't have to drill a hole in the sink for the faucet. The rest of the install is pretty easy for anyone with a few common hand tools and who can watch and learn from a YouTube video or two.
There are hundreds of private weather stations throughout San Jose. You can likely find the data from one very nearby your home.
Weather Underground coordinates a weather station network of about 250,000 private and public stations. Just keep zooming in on the map near your area ... https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap
Some stations have more data than others (wind, humidity, rain, temperature, pressure, etc.).
Yeah, I try to encourage south bay people to join sfredditors (for events in the whole Bay Area) in addition to sjredditors, but I know not everyone's up for meetups up north.
If you're looking for more local stuff: we've not only got this every thursday, but Awesome Tuesday (Food and fun that sticks mainly to DTSJ) and a team for Wednesday Trivia at O'Flaherty's. Plus whatever random things people throw together in the weekend.
Hi there!
We're running a test ride this weekend, so this isn't set in stone, but here's the current plan: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38386869
Wanna help us test ride and plan rides? Let me know!

Get something discrete. The issue is that you'll need a large USB battery to keep it powered when parked. Given how often your car is broken into I don't see the value as you'll just have video of the guy that the police won't go after. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773FXVKL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lol what’s why I prefaced with “for what it’s worth”. I recommend this book to all of my patients that ask me about the vaccine. I’m not telling you what to do or who to believe but I am trying to give you you the same autonomy I give to all my patients. https://www.amazon.com/Real-Anthony-Fauci-Democracy-Childrens/dp/1510766804/ref=nodl_
As a new gardener, absolutely 100% pick up a copy of Sunset Magazine's Western Garden Book. It has a huge amount of very helpful, locally specific advice. It even covers all of the Bay Area's tiny microclimates.
If you are using a third-party mesh networking system then I would also purchase a dedicated cable modem for it. The xfi gateways are their own mesh networking system. Comcast intends for you to lease multiple gateways if you want coverage for a large house. Comcast has no reason to optimize usage for another company's mesh system.
This is the modem I use with my eero mesh system. This is 1100 Mbps and it works much better than the cheapo 400 Mbps modem I used to have. However I live by myself in a modest 1BR apartment. If you live in a house with a family who uses lots of internet then I would recommend buying a faster, more expensive (i.e., higher quality) modem. It will pay for itself when you free yourself of having to pay the monthly lease on the xfi gateway.
I'm kind of amused that you can get these ones at Amazon on subscribe-and-save... won't arrive for a couple weeks, though.
That's just the calm before the storm, so to speak. Right now, Wunderground is showing 25 mph winds in Sacramento. The forecast in San Jose has 10-20 mph NNW winds for tonight.
Check your local weather station: https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap
Once you find your local weather station you can bookmark it. It shows you the daily stats, including highs and lows.
There are a lot of micro-climates. Temperature can vary greatly between micro-climates. Your local weather station gives you the most accurate weather info.
John Nicolas trail, it’s out and back so whenever you’re tired you can just turn around, I think it’s 2 miles to the lake.
Check out this trail on AllTrails. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/john-nicholas-trail--2?p=-1
Also I suggest downloading AllTrails app, you can set your search by distance, difficulty, popularity and other filters also
You can park at the parking lot on mockingbird lane. There’s 3-4 entrance trails. The initial start is quite a challenge. I can send you my custom trail if you want
