<strong>Original, by Jyuu Ayakura</strong>, illustration for volume 2.
This one took me more time I thought it would, mainly because of the lack of contrast in the source image I guess.
When I found myself pushing individual pixels around I decided to declare the project finished and deliberated on either publishing it or scrapping the entire thing.....
Hope you like it, I have a bit of mixed feelings about the outcome.
Tagged it NSFW to stay on the safe side, personally I'm not all too easily impressed with some bare buns, but I'm aware not everybody will feel the same about that. ;)

Or any other major book reseller or shops specializing selling manga/anime.
The anime adapted volume 1-5 excluding volume 4, I personally recommend reading from the beginning.

Scene from novel 15, "Coin of the Sun, pt I"
I sometimes wonder if the images, the B/W pages in the novels, are actually delivered as colored pictures, then adjusted to B/W for print....
No official colored images are out there though, as far as I can find, not even in the artbook.
I understand,... ;)
Though I generally don't do requests I will certainly keep it in mind,...
In the meantime, have a look at the album of images I did so far......
She looks pretty happy, at least content, in this one.... ;)
Sketch courtesy /u/rtil, one of his patreon sketch rewards. I've always been a fan of early-21st fashion (neckbeards ruining the fedora is among the tragedies of our time), and I always thought Lawrence would be a natural fit to the roaring 20s.
...though this gives "The Wolf of Wall Street" a whole new meaning, doesn't it?
Looks great, feel free to upload it on our coloring gallery.
I am not sure if this link will work. but I watched all of S&W through funimation streaming. http://www.funimation.com/shows/spice-and-wolf/videos/official/wolf-and-amber-melancholy . Just a heads up, I think its subscription only.
I'd keep them all intact. Hopefully by the end of the month we'll have more information.
According to Amazon the second print isn't shipping till November, so you'll have time to request a refund or cancel if you're stuck with the second edition.
If you're extremely lucky and hit the jackpot with 2-3 first editions, then consider selling at cost to those who missed out. I'm sure it will be easy to offload any additional copies.
Might I ask what's with the picture quality? It kinda looks like you've taken a picture of your screen with a camera. Underneath that, however, the coloring seems to look great, especially the glow from the background.
Also a reminder for you and everyone else that there is a coloring gallery for this sub where everyone is free to upload their works. I should probably mention it somewhere in the sidebar as well.
http://www.bookdepository.com/ is okay for buying the books physically, shipping takes a while. Know that even if the book has picture with 3D cover, all books are going to have the original covers anyway
>I even saw a copy trying to sell for 2000 on amazon if I recall.
There's even more ludicrous prices asked,... almost as if they just want to brag about having one and not actually wánting to sell.... ;)
Like this one...
You can have a sample peek inside on the Amazon website.....
But really, you should buy the book, for all the beautiful art inside, I'd call it "dirt cheap"!
The recently released English version on Amazon US is $35, assuming you are in the US. Out of stock on Rightstuf, but $26.24 there, not sure about shipping.
I was planning on getting one of the 80 online mugs, but I think I'm actually going to order a wooden tankard off Amazon instead. It won't be a cool limited item, but I think I might also get a woodburning kit and put a nice Holo detail on the side. Just an idea for those who aren't so enthusiastic about buying this with a proxy.
Just get one off Amazon for like $20-30 and stencil on your favorite wolfgirl. ^^
More economical and you don't have to fight 3,000 people trying to buy 80 mugs. Also probably would look better, haha, the mug looks a little plasticy for my tastes.
Hey fellow traveling merchants!
I stumbled upon a sale at Barnes and Noble today. All 17 light novels can be had for ~118 USD. Simply add all the novels to cart, and use the promo BN2017, and it should bring the total down to ~118 USD. I don't have the option to link to cart, but here is where you can find the novels! http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/spice+and+wolf/_/N-1z141ycZ8q8
Hope this helps!
Book Depository. Free shipping worldwide. It's where I got mine from anyway, as Amazon has expensive shipping to my country.
The whole point is it's Yen Press, so it's only coming out in English. Book is available on Amazon for $150. Only 2000 copies are being printed so you may want to get on it before it sells out if you're interested.
Oooh. Someone even later than me! Target doesn't even list it anymore. Amazon and B&N seem to have the non-numbered edition still available for pre-order:
https://www.amazon.com/Spice-Anniversary-Collectors-Isuna-Hasekura/dp/0316469920/
www.barnesandnoble.com/w/spice-wolf-anniversary-collectors-edition-isuna-hasekura/1124656532
Amazon.co.uk still has "Numbered" editions going for sale if you don't mind waiting till November. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spice-Wolf-Anniversary-Collectors-Numbered/dp/0316504017
No clue as to whether or not they're actually numbered, might have to check with an Amazon rep.
No image of the box, or indication you'll get one... so that's a bootleg.
and right now, The book's 70$ canadian on amazon - https://www.amazon.ca/Spice-Anniversary-Collectors-Isuna-Hasekura/dp/0316437220
I feel like someone here just wanted to brag about how awesome his French collector's edition is... but sure, I'll bite. :)
I've got two editions. First is the Australian DVD release, which is the full series on 4 dvds. Absolutely nothing special about it, plus the box art is not my favourite - to me it hints at furry fanservice which is not really my liking... Sanity Plus, Madman tend to have awful yellow subs on all their dvds.
Other one is the American blu-ray/dvd combo, It's heaps better, much better art, and the subs are much nicer too. Plus I love it when the BD/DVD are released in the same box. I got it half price than just the Aussie dvd's, second hand but still in the shrink wrap from some dude who was selling a bunch of his anime. Amazon
Yours is still far superior! I'm not aware of any special editions in English.
Colorized image from the Spice & Wolf artbook, Jyuu Auakura.
Original image <strong>here</strong>.
Thanks. :)
I'm having a lot of fun with this and thought it was time to collect them all in one place, it's becoming quite the collection... :p
I didn't want to hog/spam the /r/SpiceandWolf Coloring Gallery also not sure about some of my works, if they'd be well placed in the Album connected to this sub with regards to content and possible spoilers?
Working on about 8 different "projects" right now, among which possibly my very first original S&W fanart.... That one won't be ready to post for a while though.... ;)
Novels #1-13 have been officially translated by the company that owns the license for Spice and Wolf, Yen Press, but there are fan translations you can read of novels #14-17.
I went ahead and put them all in a folder, download link here, and here is a screenshot of the AV scan to ensure it's safety.
Hope it helps! :)
I've actually seen some rather good Spice and Wolf fanfic, A Pinch of Spice, that was done in a similar style to what you're describing, I believe by someone at r/anime, and designed to be read alongside the anime. So hey, Spice and Wolf fan work can work—so if you're interested in writing some, I'd certainly never discourage you from it. :)
If you're going to replicate the kanji characters, you'll need to follow a stroke count diagram to write them correctly. Copy and paste the kanji from zeress1's comment into a stroke diagram dictionary.
Web kanji dictionary (easier to see on desktop than mobile): http://jisho.org
Here's the page for 狼 (Ookami). If you're on mobile hit details to see the stroke diagram: http://jisho.org/word/狼
If you have access to a Google Cardboard/Daydream View/equivalent cheap headset you can get a copy of VRidge and stream the game to your phone. This is the route I went and for $15 I think it was definitely worth it.
For comparison's sake, here's the german amazon page. Release will be 4th of October as of this post.
Only the cover. If you want/need the pillow, you'll need to buy one. A 20"x60" body pillow should work okay for a 150x50 cover, but depending on how much money you're willing to spend for quality, the DHR6001 is the best 150x50cm pillow intended for use with dakimakura covers. You can get it off Amazon Japan for $117.38 shipped to the US (Amazon JP will ship it internationally, has English pages, and English support). Personally I find it as a worthwhile investment if you sleep with the thing daily (I've had my DHR6000 for over 3 years now), but a lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of buying a $120 pillow. ^^
Also, feel free to join us over in /r/Dakimakuras. I post a lot over there (because I also help run a dakimakura store) and the community is pretty helpful and open to common questions like these.
S&W was also the first time I wanted to read the original books of a series. I guess it does that to people! 19 of the 20 volumes of the novel have been translated to English, with the last one on the way. Already the main story is complete, the last three or so are mainly slice of life style shorts, from what I've read so far. Manga is almost all out in English, I'm only halfway through atm and it is quite good, but necessarily misses a lot of detail from the novels.
Most people here (myself included) would probably recommend you read the novels, then read the manga if you still want more. They are on Amazon, or book depository also has them. I buy mine from a physical retailer that specializes in manga and anime.
Oh and if you want to avoid spoilers, try to not see the cover of volume 17 until you get there. Don't worry if you do see it though, the journey is still worth it. :)
Thanks for the constructive criticism, much appreciated. If I have any questions I'll be sure to ask them, however I'm using my phone to color this.
(Yes Lawrence, you fool,... she méant it...... ;) )
Colorization of <strong>this illustration for volume 8</strong>, Town of Strife part 1, by Jyuu Ayakura.
Yeah, I was gonna say just get a second edition (like I am, regrettably because I was dumb and missed my chance to get a Kino copy...)
If you're looking to buy it from RightStuf I'm afraid you're out of luck. If you're outside the USA you can check your country's Amazon site. If you are in the USA you can try Barnes & Noble. It's one of the priciest places, but at least it says it's supposedly available and the first print on top of that. And it's from a reputable place, so if you have issues you should be able to get them resolved.
The Wolf and Parchment manga is, for so far it's been translated, available for purchase on Amazon to begin with.

Here's a link if so needed. Gotta love how well Mr. Tatum reads this.
He's a great Lawrence. <3
Only the first volume has that,.... all the rest is B/W.
If you like to see more of Keito Koume's art in color you should buy the <strong>artbook</strong>.
You may find some of the colorized manga panels on this <strong>Pixiv</strong> account to your liking.
General Warning: The page contains NSFW content and possible spoilers for the Main Story ending.
It may be a region thing because on Amazon.<strong>com</strong> it's available right now?
I do have a few on the Kobo app, on my phone, btw,... it's a pretty good reader so if that works,.. that's OK too.
Good smile company (the figure producer): https://goodsmileshop.com/en/CATEGORY-ROOT/POP-UP-PARADE/POP-UP-PARADE-Holo/p/GSC_WD_03883
It’s also up for preorder on Amazon Japan which might have cheaper shipping than GSC (2k yen) depending on where you live and they use the EU VAT system so you don’t need to pay customs handling fee if your country have that. https://www.amazon.co.jp/PARADE-狼と香辛料-ノンスケール-プラスチック製-塗装済み完成品フィギュア/dp/B09SZ2HGYN
had the buttons and grip commissioned and the shell is off amazon from here:
Thanks for the awesome theme OP!
Probably a bit late for this, but I extracted the image OP used in the theme, since it appears to have been modified and I remade the theme. This does not have any fuzzy text, but theme was made for 1080p displays. Link
Note that this is a .crx file so it will need to be manually installed.
If you are unsure on how to install it, type chrome:extensions in the address bar and drag the .crx file into the screen.
You can find them all on http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/spice-and-wolf?store=allproducts&keyword=spice+and+wolf When looking to buy just make sure you know which ones are the manga and which are the novels (it should tell you). And if you can't find one on their you can find them on Amazon. Just make sure it is in the language you want.
Yeah it's out. Barnes and Nobles if you're in the States, Chapters if you're in Canada, Amazon or Bookdepository if you're elsewhere. Any major bookstore will have it.
Chapters is nice if you're in Canada. Barnes and Noble if you're in the states. Or amazon or Book Depository is nice no matter where you are.
Yes. The anime covers 1&2 in season one, then 3&5 in season two, skipping Vol 4. Go ahead and buy those and read from the beginning, it seems like that's your plan, and it's well worth it. For the manga, it's kind of its own thing. It changes things a lot and has already diverged into its own story by the time you reach the end of season 1 anime-wise. I would probably hold off until after you've read the LN. If you want a taste of what the art is like (and it really is awesome) I would suggest maybe picking up the official art book
Oh I was incorrect, it's being shipped by Asendia. Reviews are pretty horrible as well
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/asendia.com
It also explains why my tracking number isn't working. Can't blame what you can't track I guess
Fairly recently re-released, translated in english.
You should know the image in this post is in B/W in the artbook though. ;)
FYI, from what I recall, Hasekura has said he read "Gold and Spices" (https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Spices-Rise-Commerce-Middle/dp/0841912327) as one of the sources of information. Some of the others in the community have actually read this and I think noted how a number of the details reported are used in the world building or embellished into actual plot points of the stories.
English Yen Press release.

Gor curious and ordered it on Amazon. Shipping and taxed included its pretty expensive but its worth it!
Hey, Link Amazon FR!
I wouldn't be surprised if an official announcement comes in a few days/weeks. It is also referenced on the FNAC website.
This was supposed to be the easy one, but took it a little over the top again, I really must quit this
Eve from Vol9 of the Manga, Holo from Vol8
NordVPN from NordVPN.com
Though I do not specifically endorse their product, if you want a VPN recommendation, I can give one, thought I do not use it for Netflix or Crunchy library access etc, but have used them for over 5yrs.
The complete series is available on Blu-ray for $35.
I don't think many stores would be selling light novels in japanese as it's not the most popular in Aus.
But if you're ok with buying it from overseas then maybe this link might help
Threw it through google lens and found the japanese amazon page https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%80%8E%E7%8B%BC%E3%81%A8%E9%A6%99%E8%BE%9B%E6%96%99%E3%80%8F%E3%81%A7%E9%9D%A2%E7%99%BD%E3%81%84%E3%81%BB%E3%81%A9%E3%82%8F%E3%81%8B%E3%82%8B%E3%81%8A%E9%87%91%E3%81%AE%E3%81%97%E3%81%8F%E3%81%BF-%E6%B0%B8%E6%BF%B1-%E5%...
If you want to get postcards, this will be problematic, because it is exclusive to Russia(but I'm not sure about the exclusivity of all, because I don't have some postcards). The figure can be found on Amazon. LN volumes: 1, 2 and 6. Manga volumes: 1-16(two first volumes?). Dakimakura Ebay or AliExpress
Not yet. It was delayed and new release date is December 31,2019. So it’s close but seems they May had a printing delay.

This is where I bought mine. Was $90 when I bought it Nov. 11 2018. Arrived early after a week and some change. Again, mint condition, shrink wrapped despite saying used on the Amazon description.
Official Art Fan Book " Spice and Wolf - Ju Ayakura Illustrations https://www.amazon.com/dp/4048706489/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_a2uPCbY340THW
Edit: It's $98 + $4 shipping USD so I recommend grabbing it if you really want it
Yup, that's the only versions I could even find... Are you in America?
Here's Vol 1 of the Manga, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Spice-Wolf-Vol-manga-ebook/dp/B01BCJDTEQ/ref=dp_kinw_strp_1?dpID=51STj2-4fKL&preST=_SY445_QL70_&dpSrc=detail
Parchment Vol 1 is actually available for pre-order on Amazon.ca right now. I'm guessing that if you order all of it at once, including the pre-order, you'll still only get charged for shipping once by Amazon (this has happened to me before with pre-ordering books there in the same order as books I'm buying immediately, I don't get charged twice for shipping even though I'd be functionally getting two shipments). If you can afford the over $100 it'll set you back for all of it, I say it's a good idea.
Lucky! This is the best I am seeing.
while most most online manga reading sites stops at the end of volume 6, the official translation has gotten further, and is relesing volume 14 this autum
so side colors and spring log is in the main series? (the one with 1-17 books), also took a look at Amazon but they dont seem to have Parchment and Wolf, (i asusme its the one with daughters) nor can i find info where to buy via online unless its actually called Spice and Wolf: New Theory, either way they are both missing on amazon it seems.also i found this https://www.amazon.com/Spice-Anniversary-Collectors-Isuna-Hasekura/dp/0316469920/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1491817640&sr=1-2&keywords=spice+and+wolf does this give me all 17 books?
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/0316437220/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 :) I bought it there, in part because Amazon México sold out in less than a day (probably had like 10 or less in stock) and 'cause of it's price.
Most places still have it in stock, like here I think they printed more then the 2000 they said they were going to but never the less.....
It's not on Amazon, yet. Vol. 18 is up, but they won't put up New Theory until Vol. 18 is basically released. The reason I am confident that it'll be November/December is because that's Yen Press' average delay for an active light novel series. Fastest it could be is 4 months, but I doubt that'll happen.
Is this the second edition? I thought only the international edition was being sold outside North America?
The price just dropped by £40. Ordered that and I'll probably end up cancelling the first edition one.
2013 Spice and Wolf Blu-ray box set: https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00AF3STTQ/
Not sold by Amazon. So you either need to find a marketplace seller that will ship to your location (some of them do) or use a shipping service like Kupiku. I have used Kupiku for some products sold by marketplace sellers that would not ship outside of Japan.
This is a really kind offer.
Regrettably I probably won't quality for the draw as Amazon UK has left me and others in the dark. Here's my progress - from "sure it's on time and in advanced shipping stages" to "whoops for some reason there's delays" - https://imgur.com/a/MSvoj
My favourite part is that they're still accepting orders for the "numbered edition": https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0316504017/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Someone made a booboo. If they ever admit they have no copies to send out at all, I will post proof of that too. Until then there's not a lot I can do but it's clear from the other topics I won't be fortunate enough to get a numbered edition shipped out from Amazon UK either.
November 8th according to Amazon and rightstuf.
amazon.com.br, that's the brazilian amazon.
Well, found the answer to my question here. https://www.amazon.com/Spice-Wolf-Vol-12-manga/dp/0316314765
Online it doesn't look like I can find anything further than chapter 35, but then again it isn't an official manga site...
I am able to buy them seperatly I was just hoping there was something like this http://www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-Complete-Special-Boxed/dp/B01AAB342Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1460561653&sr=8-3&keywords=harry+potter+book+box+set+1-7
No more new info, but you can pre-order the magazine here. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B01CQQK7N0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are able to send it oversea via Amazon Global.
Chances are it will be a short story type like in the Side Colors Stories in the Novel (All of the side colors story is published in the magazine and compiled into a book anyways). Even if its not, it will be a slow release as the magazine is published monthly.
There are a few of these on Ebay UK as well for around the same price.
I've seen figures of the same design for around £80 normally so I'm surprised to see one so cheap. I guess this will be a much lower quality model?
I'm tempted to order one but I'm hesitant in case it is poor quality.
Edit: Here's one of the more expensive ones that looks nearly the same
http://www.amazon.com/Spice-Wolf-Vol-Isuna-Hasekura/dp/0759531048/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436972187&sr=8-1&keywords=spice+and+wolf+volume+1 sorry for ugly link but this should work correct?
