Okay that's fair, since you can't load your own apps on the zebra it can't help you with that one. I've even retroactively scanned stuff out of the back room from the sales floor using a barcode generator app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hamsoftug.barcodegeneratorandscanner
I know that one works. Use type Code_128.
They were priced at $.99 by mistake instead of $9.99 on target.com.
I figured something was up when I came in this morning to 3 carts full of bras... Everything I picked this morning was cancelled before collates printed but I packed everything that was picked last night.
The ones our store would provide was just a simple belt clip with a slot the zebra would fit into. Sometimes they would have a little netted pocket you could put pens into. But we never had any, so I bought something like this.
Zebra fits perfect into it, has plenty of room in the pouches too, plus a dedicated pen holder is always handy. I store sticky notes, rubber bands, bandaid, a multitool (not used often, but comes in handy,) spare face masks, etc. I have had to replace it twice in four years, but they've always been under $10.
I'm a pretty big fan of "idle"games like AdVenture Capitalist. It's a game where you earn fake currency in order to invest in bigger and faster ways to earn fake currency, as if you were running a corporation kinda.
Part of the game itself is waiting until you've earned enough fake currency to buy the next powerup or next in-game manager to run your smaller businesses for you, and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of achievements.
It takes maybe 5-10 minutes to get started, and that much to update your standings, and having sit idle (even completely off, as it saves your progress and when opening it back up keeps the time it has been since you last had it opened and calculates what your earnings would have been had it been open).. There's a desktop version of this concept at http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/ to get a feel for the general idea. Hero Clicker(s?) is another good app version of this style.
I recommend compression socks. I bought a 3 pack off of Amazon to try them out.
CWVLC Compression Athletic Socks (3/6 pairs) Cushioned 16-23 mmhg for Men Women https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0817PLMJN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_J0RB0TXS96TMS48RSS2V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I just tried them this week and didn’t realize how good they were until I was on Workday #4 and realized I was out and had to wear regular socks. They definitely helped with the soreness of my feet at the end of the day.
Not to be gross, but I was worried about them because my feet tend to get sweaty, but this held up pretty good and didn’t make my feet extra hot.
Apart from the shorts. I saw one of my coworkers wearing this today. https://www.amazon.com/FrSara-Portable-Adjustable-Twisting-Non-Slip/dp/B08NXSPYX5 You should totally buy it to help with the heat. She loves wearing it and says it helps a lot
The android version of the app has a ton of negative reviews. It turns out that first time settup has to be done in the iOS version of the app before you can jump into it from the android version.
I'm betting that the majority of your team struggling with it are using android.
As far as I know, the SD's immediate boss is the District manager (DTL), who in turn reports to the head of the region ("Business Partner", or BP).
That being said, as a massive corporation, it's an extremely complicated structure with a lot more detail then this.
If you want to know what the corporate structure was like as of about a decade ago, take a look here.
Edit: /u/femmetangerine is right; I missed "group".
Did it work? Also, if you go through RetailMeNot.com and spend more than $50, you can save another $5 :)

Try this on Amazon from Romwe! Super flattering and comfortable. Red Stripe Peplum Top
I could make a living, buying these and selling them to Target stores. $5,000 - $1,398... $3,602 profit per mydevice x 60 per store x 1800 stores...
If Target is paying $5k per mydevice, it’s no wonder they can’t turn the thermostat down in my store!
For the record if anyone else is out there has a Android 5.0 or earlier phone this app works.
The server is hṭṭps://mytimemobile.target.com
Grab a pair of grip safe gloves from hyflex: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U2H8Y3Q
Definitely dont continue to do what youre doing without gloves. Make sure you keep a record of purchase and give it to HR to reemburse you.
We ordered a box for us and they are hand savers.
I bought one from amazon, ( Fame 2 Pocket Vest - Red - XL... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CYQHWIQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ), and none of my (E)TLs have had a problem! Good pocket room too! Looks so similar to the actual ones
Sure thing. I bought a pair of these after seeing other people using the same brand. This is also one of the few brands with XS gloves to fit my small hands. I used to use them only during truck unload, but have since continued for most of the push as well and when I load cardboard into the baler. It's helped tremendously. Last winter, my hands got so dry to the point where they cracked and bled, despite using lotion, so I'm curious to see the difference these gloves make.
I use this one
(for android)
It's a normal code39, but you can't have spaces so you'd go to add code and then for that example it'd be 01D001G01 for the code.
I've used it when our freezer was so fucked you couldn't scan any locations because you could barely stand in it and they told us we could INF items from grocery that required it since it forces you to scan it in.
Yeah, that’s not how any of this works my guy.
Even if it was the equivalent of an iPhone from ten years ago, enterprise electronics cost much more than consumer electronics. You’re not just paying for the device, you’re paying for development and support.
Electronics in general also have next to no discounts on bulk purchasing because they’re sold at razor thin margins.
But hey, feel free to go nuts and buy one yourself:
https://www.amazon.com/Zebra-TC51-Android-TC510K-1PAZU2P-A6-ready/dp/B01NCI0NLZ
You can literally buy them on Amazon. I think the ones that are target issued are call S4R or S4L. https://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Handy-Cutter-S4L-Retractable/dp/B00204MFKC/ref=sr\_1\_2?keywords=pacific+handy+cutter+left+handed&qid=1660424107&sprefix=Pacific+Handy+Cutter+left+hann%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-2
There is an app called stocard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.stocard.stocard&gl=US
I use it to clock in/out.
If you want to buy one yourself there’s lots of options on Amazon. But I suggest talking with your store as it’s easy to order. Most people have a g hook but anything you find with a 2.5/3.5 mm Jack will work with our radios.
I wear these - https://www.amazon.com/Dickies-Womens-Supa-Dupa-Safety/dp/B0B3RQ6ZKG - with plantar fasciitis inserts. They come in wides which I need and don't crush my toes.
If you're comfortable with the idea, forget the kilt and get a skirt. A really basic khaki color skirt with an elastic waist will be around $20 on amazon, which is a ton more affordable. It'll basically feel like wearing extra flowy basketball shorts. Just be sure you're wearing something like boxer briefs under, and don't sit with your legs super wide open, and you'll have no issues.
I'd recommend looking at plus size accommodating skirts with pockets, like this one. Size chart uses standard waist measurement, so no worrying about trying to figure out a dress size.
Why care? Are people so worried about what others think if they saw you buy a raibow colored item? Thats pathetic.i bought one of these last year in a Target when they came out and did not give a shit what others thought.I like star wars and liked the color.https://www.amazon.com/Funko-Pop-Star-Wars-Stormtrooper/dp/B08MQP8JWY/ref=sr\_1\_9?keywords=Funko+Disney+Pride&qid=1654832348&sr=8-9
I have ones like these from Amazon. The charge lasts a couple hours, and they make a huge difference in how long I can handle working in the cooler and freezer.
Yes, just the drive up ones. They make utility wheels with levers on the side that you step on. Put those on the rear and it can come in handy when staging the cart behind the guests cart when loading so that it doesn't roll away from it's weight or the strong winds. Seems like a reasonable thing to include.
Yes, I have had a tool pouch that I bought for myself for the last 3+ Years. Everything would fall off my belt when I had to crawl on the floor to get something from the back of the bottom grocery shelves. Like this or other similar ones:
This is the one I currently have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GBSCQR0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have kept the tool belt from my first one and just reused it.
It is not my favorite - my phone and device have to go into the same pocket and my phone is getting more beat up than I would like. Also I had to super glue the back flap because it was snaps and they kept coming undone.
This is probably my 3rd? in 4 years. Some were more cheaply made (this one has lasted longer) and they eventually fall apart. This is a pretty good size and you don't have all the crap falling off your belt whenever you have to grab something from the back of the bottom shelf in the grocery aisles.
Accidently put this on someone elses comment thinking they were talking about this...too late at night for this early riser. Link for anyone interested in safe box cutters
My wife like these but she buys a new pair every few months.
https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Business-CLS1110-1-Channel-Two-Way/dp/B0000AUFKI
according to amazon:
CLS 1110TM on-site two-way radio is designed for the fast pace of business. It operates on a single channel with a choice of 56 business-exclusive frequencies for enhanced voice quality, privacy and reliability.
im guessing the ones target gets are pre-set to a specific frequency.
The old ones that Target use to provide were better imo and that’s what I use. They’re much cheaper, easier to use, and less bulky. On Amazon, they’re like $7 for a box of 12.
pro tip for anyone who buys their own boxcutter. target uses the S4R (green) or the S4L (red). the same company makes newer and IMO better cutters called the S5R. its got a fold out tapesplitter on the back and just kinda feels... better?
like yeah you shouldn't have to buy your own cutter - but in this case its like 7 bucks and always felt better to me.
Do yourselves a favor and order one. They were super useful in food because they have a plastic cutter that swings out the bottom, no more poking holes in packages of food.
Walmart issues box cutters to everyone. It's a cheap $3 cutter you can buy on Amazon, and I can keep it in my pocket. I stays with my Crown key, so I always have both. It's also cheap enough that if I lose it I wouldn't care, and when the blade gets dull, I just buy another.
I swear somebody in one of these groups said they just buy theirs on Amazon. This might be the one they were talking about, it not there are other options. red vest
i have autism n i have 3 pairs of these, always carry one in my pocket - https://www.amazon.com/Loop-Experience-Noise-Reduction-Plugs/dp/B08TCK7DT5?th=1
these saved me!!! i feel like i can actually exist in loud spaces and not feel anxious or on edge the whole time. i even wear one on the floor and its made me so much more relaxed and happier ^_^
You have zero understanding of economics do you? You should educate yourself or stop putting your ignorance on display.
The one I got last is currently unavailable. It is not my favorite anyway - it had 2 snaps at the back that kept coming undone - I had to super glue the back flap down. But there are many others - anything like this works: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GBSCQR0/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o08\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The ones that target provide are fine, but honestly my favorite type of box cutter are Klever Kutters because they do the same thing as a regular box cutter but have no chance of cutting you

Certainly. Same I got MPACTS working with road signs and they were fire but for Target the protective padding would probably get in the way. Maybe order one of these ? I got one just to carry my phone and random little things in. I’m not sure how long an epipen is though, so it may not fit. It could at least be more hidden maybe?? I think it’s absolutely ridiculous they’re telling you you can’t have it on the floor though.
USB-A to USB-A (often just spoken as "A to A") cables do exist, but they're far too niche for Target to be carrying.
I don't even see them in the 3rd party selection.
Here's one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Rankie-Cable-Type-1-Pack-Feet/dp/B01KRO8D20

Hey i don’t know about shoes, but you can put some Spenco RX insoles in basically any shoe and cut them to size. I suggest getting a size bigger to make sure it ain’t too small when you cut it. They really improve any shoe! https://www.amazon.com/Spenco-Comfort-Lightweight-Cushioning-Orthotic/dp/B000S6JTMG
This is the one I use.
This one may say TC-70, but it also fits our TC-55 with the Rugged Boot attachment Target uses.
I got mine from Amazon. It's not prime, so I had to pay shipping, but they still came out to $10 each. I can't find the style I got, but here's the closest version. Same brand, but this one has a zipper, instead of just being open:
wear em on your head or if your cart attendant or drive ups wear them like normal
>I wear gloves provided by Target and one of their puffy red drive up jackets (insanely warm)
I would say just Spend some $30 plus dollars on amazon and gets touch screen gloves like this one.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0776Z2KWP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Back in 2014, when I worked on the overnight logistics, my ETL threatened me with a write up and suspension for using one of these box cutters on the job. Said we're not allowed to use it because it wasn't safe. Retractable, with finger shields and all. Somehow unsafe.
Yet they forced us to use those bullshit Garvey Jiffi Box Cutters that would cut up our pants, legs, and sometimes hands when reaching into pockets to get them.
I got promoted to Guest in 2015, and 3 years later I see that they're all using these box cutters that I got in trouble for using because I wanted something that was safer to use. Such bullshit.
Jfc. Here! https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Q5ZG3U/
I just bought one myself for a similar reason. I actually would have bought one regardless for home use, as I like the model. Working for Target was the first time I've used a box cutter. So much easier than using scissors for Amazon boxes, etc.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L31W2ZS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
I use one of these. Works great and keep the device from falling all over the place. and I can clip my tech keys to it for easy access.

100% worth the $10
Best shoes I had while working here were the Asics Nimbus 22. Most comfortable shoes I ever wore but they lasted only a few months and I wasn't going to pay $100 every few months to replace them. And that's like mid tier shit, there's more expensive shoes that supposedly last longer but at $150+ is your feet and lower back pain worth that much? Although it is something a retail worker SHOULD invest in. Now I just replace the insoles with Dr. Scholl's.
When I do get a new pair I was looking at is the Saucony Guides just because someone on a runner's subreddit said they go 700 miles out of them before they started to wear.
Do some research on long lasting running shoes, see if your local sports store has them so you can try them out (and price match Amazon of course) and see what you're willing to pay.
Ideally one should be switching between shoes. You got your affordable shoes for those short shifts, then you got maybe the higher end shoes saved for the longer shifts.
3 words. Expandable back scratcher. You might feel like an odd duck with this, but it has come in handy as a 5' 4" woman who can't even see the top shelf on a good day.

you can even find tool belt holsters to hold that fancy box cutter.....
If anyone needs a good pair of soles/inserts, I highly recommend these from Timberland! I've had two pairs so far, and have found them really helpful. I'll probably be getting my third pair soon if I stay on after the holidays.

It is something that is probably store-specific if they let you or not, but they probably wont care.

They keep the blood flowing, help reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. Which essentially leads to fatigue in my legs. I’m an urgent care nurse and I’m walking or sometimes sprinting all day. I notice a significant difference when I wear let’s say ankle socks versus compression socks (that go above my calf), and it’s day and night. In fact I just ordered some new ones from Amazon last week.

I work in SFS and I use work gloves from amazon that can be used with touch screen devices(zebra). I first put them on when I get out of the car and headed into work. The only time I take them off is when I go on break or when I leave. I wash or use hand sanitizer when I take them off or before i eat or leave for the day. I also put them in a ziplock bag when I leave and clean them at home, either with a disinfectant wipe or put it in the washing machine. Not presicely the same, but I have three of these t-shirt-thin hoodies and I love them. I found I couldn't wear hoodies working on the sales floor as I'd get overheated, but these are thin enough to be practical, they look cool and they're red enough for anyone.
Do not use cloth gloves! The moisture from the items will soak into the gloves and you always need up with wet fingertips or more. I had my ETL special order some Memphis Ninja X gloves. Your fingers will get cold after long exposure but they keep you protected and allow for mobility and reaching into tight spots. I love them for stocking freezer or doing freezer sales planners and zoning.
