I did something similar a couple years back with my roommates. We'd just attempt to get girls numbers at bars, though I've never been one to troll for hookups so it was more an exercise in getting better at talking to people. I got lots of numbers and it did make me more comfortable at talking to women.

The pick up community seems to be kind of played out and most girls will catch on to bull shit and if they don't, they are probably just stupid. I always suggest on focusing on goals. If a woman sees you have goals and strive to achieve, they will notice that- no bullshit required on your part.

I would print out fliers and put them around the area of your house and around campus. Also, contact the animal shelters in lubbock and let them know that if they find dogs matching that description to call you. If you want to upload pictures to reddit make an Imgur account and upload pictures via that. Just copy the url of the picture once you have uploaded it and comment it or edit it into your post. Good luck, I know how shitty it is if your animals get lost :(

I retook calc 1 & 2 and got a lot more out of the classes than I did the first time around. I recommend you take precalculus if you're even the slightest bit unsure. Every math class builds off of the previous one. Precalc will be your base, and if you're weak in that, you're not going to have a good time.

Also, I recommend this book. It's fairly inexpensive, and the author explains calculus 1 & 2 on a very down to earth level. I read through this book and did the exercises before taking calc 1 & 2, and I really understood the concepts in class a lot better.

I haven't been at Tech in over a decade, so let me give you my 2 cents.

First year - I moved there and knew no one (I am American, but grew up overseas). I went to Tech because I still got in state in Texas. The change was huge. I didn't "get" the people. It was far too conservative for my background. I couldn't find people I clicked with. I spent almost every weekend in my dorm with no one to talk to (and I left my door open all the time hoping to talk with others...or just for someone to say Hi). I hated it and applied elsewhere.

I ended up staying one more year since my other options were to change majors to something I didn't want to go to a more prime school. I decided to give it one more year.

I ended up meeting a new group of people, figuring out a better scene for me to fit in, and I ended up enjoying it. By the time I was graduating, I didn't want to leave.

Don't quit too easily. Nowadays, there are way more ways to meet people than when I was there.

1) You have hobbies? Great, find a group that matches those hobbies. Whether it be through the university or through groups like meetup.com, If you do not have hobbies, find some. No reason not to.

2) Do not be afraid to do things with people you don't know or don't think you will be good friends with. You may end up meeting others due to just going out with people. Don't say no to things just because you are nervous about it (there are reasons to say no to things, but, use common sense there).

3) There are 30k(?) students there. There will always be other people to meet.

4) If things really do not work after another year (assuming after your sophomore year), begin to look elsewhere, or just give in and focus on school. You aren't at Tech to party 24/7, you are paying a lot of money for an education. That should always be your first focus. I would not recommend transferring if you are already on your 3rd year as you will lose a lot of credits and end up costing you more money.

Just read his reviews. You can tell a lot about a student based on their attitude towards the seemingly impossible and how they stand against adversity. I'd know I probably kill myself during class.

I've been using this app. Not sure is theres an Apple version but its been helping me build muscle at home w/30lb weights. I'd imagine how it would be w the Rec. Hopefully I'll be able to go some day.

I second this. I use a VPN on campus all the time and have never been caught. I use Private Internet Access

I paid for a VPN service (Astrill) rather than used a shitty free one, and download speeds were just fine. I mostly downloaded music, but for larger files like GOT I'd just leave it on overnight. I dunno why people are saying you could get kicked out of school... VPN's are perfectly normal and I don't think they could do much to you.
