today its 59.4 that 5 rpn on 54 or 10% , there has been a lot volatility, the cdn has risen due to commodity spike, not with any real leadership coming out of Canada

Wires work, but are a pain. I've sent two wires in and they were there in less than a day, but that was back when wires were supposed to go to Australia.

Something not mentioned here is Kinesis is going after the un-banked, and they've worked a deal with Indonesia where Indonesians (all 200 million unbanked folks) can get a branded Kinesis account (called Pos-Go or something like that) and transfer their cash in at any post office, which is where they pay their utilities. This will be huge if Indonesia every recovers from Covid and promotes the damn thing, but as I understand it post office workers are getting paid using the Kinesis system now, and it's online. Just not announced or promoted.

The reason I mention this is because Indonesia required all gold held by their citizens (and they are only using gold, not silver) be stored in Indonesia. There wasn't a vault of the proper security level there so it's being built while the system goes live, and around the time period where the promotion was supposed to happen the address to wire funds to changed to an Indonesian bank, which I'm assuming means Kinesis is getting a better rate on transfers or some other perk for banking there.

No idea. But if you wire funds in and think "WTF! Indonesia?!??!?!?!" just understand it's part of a bigger play that makes sense to the guys running the show.

Most Europeans use wise.com, and from the telegram group it looks like you can simply wire or use Wise to send your local currency and the conversion to USD to buy gold/silver is done automatically and at a very reasonable rate. So it's easier today than yesterday.

Incremental improvement.

I hate the downvotes on Kinesis. It's complex, but but at the end of the day it's a service that offers secure, diversified (8 countries), allocated, insured, deliverable, and audited vaulting for precious metals. It does this in a way that leverages the advantages of the blockchain so you can use your vaulted metal as a day-do-day currency (the the VISA debit card), make payments to others or sell/exchange for multiple currencies (including crypto), and you actually earn a yield in metal that's based on fee generation rather than something risky like lending the metal.

It's frigging genius, but it's still a startup and the advantages of it are just coming online. For instance, the first yield payment was only made this week.

Anyway, it can be hard to get your money into Kinesis. Folks in the UK have done well using wise.com to transfer in, you can use crypto transfers like the OP did, you can wire it in (my brokers made this relatively painless, if a bit scary), or once you get the first funds in the account if you're in the US you can get a physical VISA debit card for $1.99 per month, and you can transfer $10,000 per day to the linked debit account using normal US bank-account to bank-account transfers.

Do your DD, but Kinesis is revolutionary. I'm glad to see more people getting on-board.

I’d highly recommend reading Part 1 of this book. Not only does it brilliantly explain why stackers buy in volume, but it also gives the best explanation of how the modern monetary system was created, what its (alarming) flaws are, and what cycles show about precious metals. It tied together everything I had learnt about markets.

Gold and silver have true value. Everything else floats around wildly with the policy blunders of governments.

With that said, many here favour PSLV and hold a smaller amount of physical. I am one of those people, because of where I live.

You know, I might be assuming too much here. For those who don't know, Kinesis is a marriage between:

• This is tied to a distributed ledger. This is all good traditional stuff but I'd add one more modern element - good security cameras. Modern cameras can alert you when people are detected instead of just "motion" and it's really good to have a heads up people are on property before they even try to break in.

Also someone on YouTube I watch who is going through what it was like to go through hyperinflation in Romania has a bunch of good advice, but a particularly great one I had never heard of was to buy security film for all of the windows people might get in through. Instead of just breaking a window and getting in the house, they have to spend several minutes trying to fight through the security film giving you lots of time to react. Not sure how clear it is, I plan to get some rolls just to have around, and put them up at first on soem windows I don't look through much:

Absolutely! Couldn’t agree more. We have read our history, it is abundantly clear what monetary and fiscal policy such as this leads to. We are taking steps to protect our loved ones. As terrible as these policies will be for most people, we are only able to protect those closest to us. We can spread the word and hopefully more people will take steps to protect themselves. You're not wrong. Wires are a pain, and wise.com works well and cheap, but it brings up the question "why do I need to use this third party company to give you money." Of course, we all use Visa/MC without thinking about it.

You can also send in crypto if that's easier.

I reside in UK/EU so I haven't got the card yet, but my understanding is that loading the card involves a sell of KAU/KAG. Not sure if it can also do the conversion automatically on the fly right at the moment you spend.

You are right that getting funds in is a bit of a pain and this is the thing that they need to improve with great priority because many people complain about it. Myself, I didn't have any problems. I used Wise.com (which also did the conversion from EUR to USD - because I wanted the money in the Mint which only supports USD). I also transferred rather large amounts so bank fees were not a big deal for me.

Americans use something called ACH that works with their debit card (or something). Crypto people have reported great success with using Litecoin for a cheap transfer.

But yes, they should have a simple local bank account where you can transfer your money to. Hopefully they will have a good solution when they roll out the physical debit card.

I get what you're saying, but it is in its infancy and growing. It won't be long before something like hashgraph or another even less data intensive technology can be reliably interconnected using the data modes.

Also, I can actually go to a hell of a lot more stores and buy using crypto than I can use silver.

Microsoft, AT&T, Overstock, Pizza Hut, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Mavericks, CheapAir, NewEgg, ExpressVPN, just to name a few. That ignores all the small and medium businesses that take it, hell, I'd take it if my clients wanted to pay me in it. I know of at least 1 food truck in my area that takes crypto.

I can't walk in with a silver round at any of those places and buy anything. Honestly, if you're looking at adoption as a mainstream currency, silver (and gold) lose out to cryptos by a long shot.

Now silver and gold have their own advantages, primarily in true SHTF situations before people cobble together data networks, but that doesn't make crypto useless, it just makes different tools good for different purposes.

The Royal Mint has a bad reputation for delivering coins with scratches, dents and milk spots. If you want to sell them with a high premium, maybe vacuum the coins to prevent milk spots.

That is another book where, if I had read / been exposed to it as a child, my life would probably be radically different - for the better!

We used an emergency water filter system during the Texas Snowpocalypse in 2020.
