Keep in mind, there exit native Linux and Mac versions:
If you're quick you can get minit for free here. Lovely little game.
Also check out the epic game store for 3 free games (a short hike is absolutely lovely!).
I also can recommend Nuclear Throne on steam, 90% off for 99 cents now.
Let me take a look at GOG.com. If i'll find something I will edit this comment.
Edit: Took a quick look and I can recommend Dead Cells, but look if it is your kinda game. And if you don't want to wait for a better deal.
Hi Ross.
Have you seen Half-Life 2 MMOD? It's a visual and gunplay enhancement mod for half life 2 and its episodes. You should consider looking at it for use in Freeman's Mind. All the visual effects it adds are toggleable and can be adjusted to some degree with cvars. Give it a look.
Wrong. Security is only exploited because there are weaknesses, and in the case of XP, it was exploited because of the fact that there was a shocking amount of people who still ran XP after over two generations and a full decade of obsoletion. Security updates mean little when the majority of users open themselves and create tons of holes on their own. For example, despite not having antivirus directly on my PC, I have not had a computer virus in over five years, confirmed by doing occasional scans using Linux or spare Windows drives.
Also, what reasons are there to upgrade? Win7 lets you modify it, close it, and install whatever you want. Win10 will block you from installing certain software just because, its updates often break things rather than improve them, and it phones home over 5000 times in a 24 hour period after modification using GPE and registry hacks, thanks in part to the apps and the outrageous ToS surrounding the OS. Unless you're using cutting-edge tech and exclusive libraries (thanks to buyouts and artificial obsolescence), there is no reason to immediately upgrade.
Ross, did you know about Epic Games's MegaGrants? It's a grant for development of any project using UE4, or even intending to transition to it. The amount of money depends on the project, and the requisites for eligibility seem relatively easy to achieve. Here's the page on it, and here's the F.A.Q if you're interested.
About that browser problem... Vivaldi has a crazy amount of customization, including disabling the close button on your tabs. It also natively supports gestures and chrome extensions.
Out of curiosity, have you tried using hamachi It's usually super simple to simulate LAN games with it. at least on most oldschool games
(All for Windows 10)
Taskbar Tweaker Fixes the multiple-taskbar-grouping slowness Ross mentioned. There's an option to have separate taskbars for every window that's open, and you can drag them individually even if you have multiple of the same program open. Double click the taskbar to system-wide mute is also a fantastic feature.
Qttabar adds browser-esque tabs to windows explorer, super useful when the alternative is going through multiple windows open. Can also add bookmarks.
Sorry, I do not touch Twitter, so I did not see it.
Would you be so kind as to post the link to the tweet?
Also https://joinmastodon.org/ , it's open source decentralised alternative to Twitter.
