Because it's unpopular because people don't understand it. If all you see is a new tax and how it immediately impacts you without the foresight to see what it will do for humanity, then you're only going to focus on right now. That's what Ezra and all these politicians are capitalizing on, peoples general lack of understanding and their inability to see past what it means right now.
You won't be able to show any proof of carbon taxes not working in a nation, but you can easily look to BC to see a carbon tax working and it not destroying the economy.
If we acted the same for CFCs, saying oh it won't work and oh it's just the government bureaucracy trying to tell us how to live our lives, we would have never been able to repair the damage done to the ozone. We're going through the exact same process that we did when we banned CFCs, most people probably forgot about it or weren't alive when it happened. But the similarities are there, the skepticism is there, and now we can show that it worked and all the people fighting against it were on the wrong side of history.

800 people isn't a political revolution or will they dictate who governs the province or the policies they adopt.
If it's poorly conceived, could you first tell me why you think this? Secondly, if it's poorly conceived surely you would have an alternative so that it isn't just your opinion against multiple pieces of research, policy analysts, and scientists. A lot of scientists are saying it's not enough, you're saying it's too much. Who is right? I would like to believe you if you have evidence to back up your stance.

According the US Forest Service (circa 2006, via AccuWeather), about 800 wild fires per year (3.4% of all wildfires) in the US are caused by cigarette butts. Apparently that is a 90% reduction from the 1980s.
Campfires account for a whopping 49%.
Here's an article by Michael Shevell, published in 2012 in the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences, that discusses Douglas' initial views within the context of the time (page contains pdf link):

So the world price of Oil has gone down because Canada's good friends the Saudis want to flood the market and reduce competition, which reduces demand from Canada's suppliers which results in layoffs and everything negative associated with those layoffs yet the Provincial party gets hammered for this?
And throw in for good measure the East-West that suddenly is urgent despite the Cons/Wildrose ruling Alberta in the same time frame the Harper Cons ruled federally and yet it's the NDP' to blame?
Albertans are indeed a special breed when it comes to logic...
And the icing on the cake is Rand collecting Social Security and Medicaid later in life and modern day Objectivists retroactively deciding it fits with their philosophy because she's only recouping what was taken from her... :D

SOP. This email isn't even about the money. The dollar amount options presented are mostly in the impulse purchase range, with a low potential ROI. Kenney is independently wealthy enough to fund his entire campaign, if he chose. This e-mail is about getting people to donate some small amount so that they're conditioned to support the actual desired outcome of voting for him later.
Optimistic 2% <strong>open</strong> rate on the e-mail to a maximum of 80,000 UCP members (=1,600 opens), with a <strong>click through</strong> rate of just 5% of that 2% (=80 clicks), for a maximum expected ROI of 80*$200=$16,000. There's no realistic way to get $1 per UCP member directly out of an email blast.

Was this for a school project? It's well made either way! The animations are very well done.
Just a few bits of advice though: slow down, it sounds like you're going at two times the speed you need too.
You've also got some ambient noise when you speak. Whenever you go between audio clips, you can tell you've switched clips because the white noise has disappeared. You'll want to look into removing the white noise, or adding some kind of background music.
Finally, your voice sounds a bit tinny too (probably just a byproduct of your microphone). You might want to look into removing that too.
But like I said, well done!
I was wondering who would be the first with this idiotic mentality.
Educate yourself on clinical depression.
Well, I'm not exactly sure what I'm saying :). Given a bit more thought I think the updated party stances page would be a good start if the headers were decreased. Maybe put the party icon on the left side under the subject heading (Environment, O&G) with a the first point from the parties platform on the subject with a read-more link that expands it? Just throwing out ideas in response to your question.
I just took a peak at the source code. Have you heard of http://getbootstrap.com/ or http://foundation.zurb.com/? They are UI frameworks that contain a bunch of CSS and JS that are ideally suited to building a web page like this. They are also responsive so working on different screen sizes works well too. Using tables for non-table data isn't that popular anymore :).
It's not just the shale producers which affected the loss in oil price. http://seekingalpha.com/article/4054380-oil-price-drop-surprising-global-demand-provide-support
While shale might keep on producing, they (the folks in this site) seem to think it's a short run effect on prices rather than a general trend. Hopefully that's the case.
I won't wear one unless a business asks me to. But I'm still carrying one around. Maybe consider one of these https://www.amazon.com/5Pcs-Adjustable-Length-Masks-Lanyard/dp/B08D8MLLK7 if you don't have pocket space.
What is a left-leaning publication that has the spread of Post Media though? Press Progress doesn't have syndicated opinion columns published in every major city across the country. CBC doesn't have newspapers and they don't even have op eds.
Mass media's opinions saturate the public far more than an outlet like Press Progress opinions do just because of their reach. Op eds are nothing but propaganda, and mass media (Calgary Herald is #673 in Canada according to Alexa) has a far better propaganda machine than a no-name website like Press Progress (#12083).
My point is this... People believe what they read whether it's an op ed or a report of a building that burned down. Far more people read op eds in the Herald/Sun/Journal than Press Progress. And, unfortunately, a great number of people can't seem to figure out that op eds shouldn't be held as credibly as a report of what building burned down last night.
These are all great arguments. I work in the energy industry and am fascinated by the prospects but my enthusiasm is also tempered with the reality of thermodynamics and the science. I pointed an interesting read out to this redditor in another part of this discussion but you may find it interesting. It's a good read and explains many of the challenges involved with renewables. They aren't all they're cracked up to be. Of course, like most Trump supporters most people who've bought in have done so purely on what they've read that confirms their biases. Have a look at the book.

> But it's not ideology if it's what I believe in!
As I don't think you know the definition of the word ideology, here it is.
noun, plural ideologies.
1. the body of doctrine, myth, belief, etc., that guides an individual, social movement, institution, class, or large group.
2. such a body of doctrine, myth, etc., with reference to some political and social plan, as that of fascism, along with the devices for putting it into operation.
3. Philosophy. the study of the nature and origin of ideas. a system that derives ideas exclusively from sensation.
4. theorizing of a visionary or impractical nature.
Trust me - I'm far from part of the echo chamber around here. I ally with anti-UCP'ers only insofar as I think all the parties should be dissolved immediately and with extreme prejudice (I don't care if we start with the UCP, NDP, or just do a 'sudo rm -rf' on them all at once), but aside from that I hardly fit into the box.
On your point, I'd start with a comment that there's a bit of daylight between a misinformed country singer and a country-singer-turned-politician taking aim at the Premier, but sure, I'll bite.
What're my thoughts? What a friggin shame that Paul, a former nurse, went the direction that he did on those comments. Of course, there's been several follow-ups (a podcast with Dr. Angela Rasmussen, a corrective-Facebook and CP post, etc) which should be noted as well.
"Celebrity got this thing wrong" is such a fantastic driver of clickbait and algorithm-stoking posts, it's no wonder Trump got elected. Literally the only reason I have any opinion on the matter personally is because of Paul's long-time-ago involvement in healthcare. And it sounds like he's learned his lesson, and what a fascinating listen that Podcast episode was, too.
As for Canyon, honestly I'd love to know what he was thinking and given my comment at the end I don't think that we've heard the last of this story. I think the current celebrity-worship-culture is leading to more celebrity/politician links and it wouldn't shock me to see the UCP or CPC turn to someone like Canyon to draw in that audience. So noticing something like this is probably not a bad thing, since it might actually derail that cynical, "milk the celebrity-fetishizing crowd for all they're worth" mindset that has taken hold of politics.

Also if you have google Keep installed try this on your android
add the QR.png saved from the website via long pressing on it on your phone or just right click save on a desktop computer (its larger than the pdf's and more clear vs screen shotting it)

go to keep.google.com or load the keep app on phone click a note or the + symbol
on desktop click the 4th icon under the words "take a note" to add an image, choose photo from your computer or on the phone from where you saved it and than in the corner once the image and "note" is displayed with the QR code hit the push pin button to "pin it" so it stays at the top of your notes.
on android hit the plus icon in google keep a new note will popup at the bottom left is another plus sign hit that and than hit 'add image' once you see the QR code is in the note hit the pushpin at the top to pin it.
now when you open keep on your phone it displays the QR code instantly, ive got a short cut to keep on my phones screen.
I use ACR on Android.
Unfortunately Google removed the ability to record both channels of an audio call in newer Android OSs so I use a Galaxy S7 from several years ago.
Allegedly they will be re-enabling this in a future release of Android, but until they do I'm sticking with this old phone because as I say this is something that I don't use often but when I do, it is priceless. I'd be beyond pissed if I upgraded phones and lost this capability and had a need for it again so I'll keep this phone till it dies or Android gets the needed update.

I definitely agree that people shouldn't be allowing their dogs to run freely around the neighbourhood, that can be super frustrating, and a little scary, to deal with! I would suggest making a note of where these dogs live, and call your local bylaw enforcement to make a complaint.
Carrying bear spray is legal per-say, but I would discourage you from taking this route of action. I would suggest a less aggressive option to keep you and your dog safe;
That being said, if you or you dog is in danger of SERIOUS harm, kick, punch and scream as much as you can. The bottom line here is, don't use a sledgehammer to crack a nut, your response should be proportional.
I hope that you and your dog can begin to enjoy running outside again!!

I'm pretty sure Adam Smith doesn't use the term "virtue signaling," but he does say this of wages (in Book I, chapter 8):
>A man must always live by his work, and his wages must at least be sufficient to maintain him. They must even upon most occasions be somewhat more, otherwise it would be impossible for him to bring up a family, and the race of such workmen could not last beyond the first generation.
That is exactly the same argument that the NDP made (minus the assumption that only men are in the paid labour force) when they promised to raise the minimum wage: it needed to ensure people who earned that wage had an income that puts them over the poverty line. Adam Smith would give Notley a pat on the back here.
For the helluva it, Smith also advocates progressive taxation in Book V, Chapter 2, part 2:
>The subjects of every state ought to contribute towards the support of the government, as nearly as possible, in proportion to their respective abilities; that is, in proportion to the revenue which they respectively enjoy under the protection of the state.
If you actually read The Wealth of Nations, you'll probably find that the NDP is more in line with Smith's ideas than either the PCs or Wildrose.
Good article. Misleading, click-baity, title.
Wealth that has not been accumulated cannot be reduced. I cannot steal from you what you do not own or hold in your possession. An accurate title would me more like "ensuring resources can reach markets should improve/create wealth in the future" or something. /semantics.
I don't disagree that Alberta needs a way to get it's products to market. It needs to happen. No is the right time to plan for it, so it can be done right.
>Every time I teach the Wealth of Nations I re-read the passages I’ve assigned...
The Wealth of Nations is a good book. It says a lot of things. But I don't think that today's 'capitalism' is what Smith had in mind when he first penned it.
Yeah, avoid breathing direct air in. These masks are goofy as hell but they're pretty good and keeping the cold air out of directly coming into your lungs. I have a neoprene thing with some holes and in this temp, I put a buff on top of that.

I've been using them for over a decade, replacing them as they wear out. They're not cheap, but they will keep your hands warm, especially if you toss a pair of hand warmers in.
Because we had legitiimate lawn dart owners get hurt. Not drunks, not axe throwers, not knife throwers, but actual responsible adults and their kids that experienced injuries while using the product (mosttly) as intended. We counted the injuries up, looked at the data, and agreed that the risk/reward isn't there, and banned them. It didn't stop people from using them, or buying and selling them, but they are indeed banned.
Using that analogy on guns would first require some evidence that legal gun owners (ie the people using these things responsibly) present a problem in Canada. That they cause injuries or deaths. StatsCanada says 90% of gun homicides (for which they have data) are committed by people who don't even have a license for the firearm (let alone whether they used a legal mag, or if it was registered appropriately, etc).
And the "what about the mass shootings with legal guns" question is fallacy as well, given:
And just as people still have, buy and sell lawn darts, those who don't follow the law aren't going to voluntarily turn in their .22 Plinkster when it gets banned (yes, the .22 plinkster is on the chopping block). The people who will comply are the law abiding ones that are not causing any problems.
So it's not "a weird condescending attitude", it's gun owners being in total disbelief that people actually think that making the criminal's tool of the trade even more illegal than it already is would somehow make a difference.
I'm a teacher in Ontario where coding is a part of the curriculum. Code.org and https://scratch.mit.edu/ are free to use websites with great lessons for students to learn from. There are usually already a few Chromebooks floating around a classroom. Set up some centers and your coding unit is done. The kids who love it will use the resources in their own time and now you have kids involved in STEM.
There are tools online such as https://scratch.mit.edu/ that have great tutorials, and the teacher's can learn the concepts as easily as the kids. You don't need a CS degree to do quite a bit.
I have so many thoughts after watching this video.
On climate, pollution, etc.., Smith is repeating basically the same lines that Kenney did. Positive about Alberta energy vs other (dictatorial, more rights abusing) producers and sharing a fairly balanced view of the future of energy and petrochemical products while acknowledging our responsibility to reduce emissions and limit climate effects. She even invokes Shellenberger and (like Shellenberger) talks about lifting people in the developing world out of poverty using Alberta's LNG, etc.
However, these well reasoned opinions are literally opposite of Conserative party policy provincially and federally. Climate change denial is official party policy. Reducing Canada's foreign aid to nations with desperate poverty is party policy.
The fact that she still blames inflation on Trudeau is just embarrassing politicking. It's world-wide and Canada actually faces far less inflation than many other nations. Later in the interview she complains about "legacy" media fishing for soundbites, but it doesn't stop her from using meaningless talking points with no grounding in reality.
Alberta has, under former conservative governments, had among the greatest healthcare and education systems in the world. Yet she describes how those governments did it wrong and proposes to absolutely decimate what is left of those systems to install a wild-west privatized system of service delivery that has never worked ever any other place o the planet.
The last comment I have is that, throughout the interview, it appears that Smith is fully under the sway of the utterly debunked "efficient market hypothesis".
Edit: I'm not suggesting Alberta has a perfect rights record, so I added the more above. We don't have kill squads.
I'm speaking of the experience of my family, who emigrated here from Poland immediately after WWII. I'm not suggesting that the 50s/60s were the "peak" of anti-Slavic prejudice in Edmonton, I'm just stating that the attitudes were there among English Albertans. In addition to my family's stories, which I've personally heard many times, the memoirs of University of Chicago professor Peter Dembowski (himself a Polish WWII veteran) go into some detail on the anti-slavic attitudes that he encountered among Albertans while living in the Edmonton area after WWII.
If you want a sense of what happened in Edmonton and what would likely happen in Calgary, check this out! https://www.amazon.ca/Power-Play-Professional-Politics-Development/dp/1772124931
The cult of oil.
The rejection of climate change.
Killing the super lab, selling the parks, giving away billions.
The war room, which they couldn't have chosen a more fascy name for.
One of the first things the UCP did was legislate discrimination against LGBTQ people.
The equalization lies.
The delusional lies that foreign powers are backing environmental activists to disrupt the foriegn owned oil industry.
How the UCP sees Ottawa/the Liberals and the ANDP.
The constant threats and calls to execute Trudeau from their supporters. The calls for violence against pipeline protestors. The yellow jackets.
Cutting pay to the disabled, undermining healthcare and education. The general disdain for everyone who isn't in oil. The public calls to make educators and healthcare worker suffer.
The lionizing of rig pigs and promotion of anti-science and anti-intellectualism.
The systemic, open misogyny of conservatism. The systemic, open misogyny of conservatives.
The rural Alberta advantage, the appeals to only to oil workers and religious extremists.
I don't feel like I need to explain that one. The UCP have always been dishonest about how they use language, how they phrase promises.
Other people are very dismissive about the nature of your political differences.
I see a lot of comments saying that you shouldn't talk politics at home with your partner.
The political actions a person takes are the most direct examples of their morality.
Your partner has given political power to people who represent fascism. That's no exaggeration or insult, http://www.openculture.com/2016/11/umberto-eco-makes-a-list-of-the-14-common-features-of-fascism.html it's just a fact.
For me, fascism, authoritarianism, homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny are all dealbreakers. You have to decide if they're dealbreakers for you too.
Both the UCP and CPC meet 13 of 14 criteria of fascism.
And yes, if there is a nazi at the dinner party, everyone there is a nazi. It is called the paradox of tolerance, you painfully stupid git. A tolerant society can tolerate almost anything, but ironically not intolerance. Intolerance, like hatred and ignorance, spread, as I'm sure you have experienced but are not aware enough to understand. Intolerant people will begin with one target, fascist choose scapegoats, and progress from there as they become bolder, until only intolerance remains. Thus, the answer is to always answer intolerance with total and unwavering intolerance.
Oh look, you brought up a bunch of strawmen with you. Cute.
It should be obvious, but lots of people can be conservatives even if conservatism is actively fighting against their interests. For example, Alberta.
>but now that you proved me otherwise
You haven't proved anything, any likely aren't capable of doing so.
I feel like your ability to comprehend text is overwritten by your desire to remain willfully ignorant.
Did I say that liberals are fascists? I said they were complicit in genocide. Simply being complicit to genocide does not make a nation fascist. Otherwise virtually all nations are fascist.
The UCP meet 13 of the 14 points on the checklist. They are fascists.
The CPC meet 12. They are fascists.
The LPC claim they represent liberalism, a centre right wing philosophy, but actually represent neoliberalism, which is closer to classic conservatism than what modern conservatives practice.
Conservatives hate women, ethnic and sexual minorities, immigrants, the disabled, minors, the elderly, and the working classes.
Liberals only hate the poor.
Yes indeed it is indeed an issue where a lot of folk feel theres 'something wrong' but can't quite figure out the why, see the great comment Marsymars above (below?) said, and my reply.
As I commented (and others) about picking the 'wrong' colour temp, be it time of day or application this was something that customers would frequently ask about, or if I noticed a daylight CFL bulb in a childs obvious sidelight, or even mainlight in their bedrooms, I would let the parents know about the melatonin issue. Mainly because im a lighting/TV nerd and it's better for their kids. All the bulbs that were bought for the NDP scheme ($22,000,000 million I think it was at last count?) were all 2700K. I heard somewhere that there was a tiny trial at first where folk could have a choice but I guess quickly abandoned when it was realised the vans would have to be massive to carry the 2 choices, and the nightmare of the public being Mr. Awkard and wanting 8 daylight here, 3 2700 here, but no wait i changed my mind.....
But anyway. To recap folks: PSA- use 2700K for bedrooms, or anywhere once the sun sets. If you can rig a light so one switch flips daylight for day, and 2700 for night, then even better.
Use 5500k or 6500k for things like kitchens, studies, offices, where you are gonna be using it in the DAY. Again, common sense, a kitchen is obvo used at night/evening, so have a different set to switch if you can.
The kids cellphones/tablets/computers, iphone - turn on auto sunset night mode and lock it out with restrictions. Android download F.Lux, if it hasnt gone the way of iphone now to have it built in.
Computers, Windows, use f.lux. https://justgetflux.com/ Mac, its built in with the mojave OS patch. Enable auto sunset mode. Your TV, runs VERY BLUE, try not to watch too much of it late at night if you want to get to sleep easier. (easier said than done lol)
It's infuriating that Conservatives still haul out Klein's "you don't buy groceries with your savings" line as if it explains the economy. If every politician read Stephanie Kelton's The Deficit Myth, our world might actually start moving forward.
I have no thoughts on the driver but you may want to track your kid. I bought a drone way back when they were new and cool and tended to fly off in all directions never to be seen again (much like children). So I got a little tracker gizmo I glued to it. If the drone ever failed to return to base I could ping it and find it on the map. I have no personal experience with this particular model but it looks similar to what I had: https://www.amazon.com/Tracki-Magnetic-Required-Worldwide-Motorcycles/dp/B07N4DHFZM

I cannot stand the texture of cardboard straws - I end up throwing them away if I get them at fastfood places and just drink out of the cup if I have to. I'd be curious to know how much of an impact cardboard straws have compared to biodegradable plastic-like straws.
My community has banned plastic bags - it doesn't affect me personally other than a minor inconvenience. However, it honestly sucks for my work - I buy groceries for families and need to empty all my reusable bags so that I don't lose them. I end up spending a lot of time transferring groceries from my reusable bags to garbage bags.
I’m sorry to hear that. Heating therapy helped me a lot. There is a place called Ganbanyoku (heated natural stone bathing) near my place, and laying on the hot stone on my sore belly soothed my pain away. Have a read of this if the topic interests you:
It a great read and explores the politics of it all. Gives great examples of scales as well.
For a modern take, I have to recommend the book Let Them Eat Tweets: How the Right Rules in an Age of Extreme Inequality.
It expands upon the origins of conservatism to demonstrate why, with growing economic inequality, convincing people to vote against their own self-interest requires an ever increasing use of fear, misinformation, and antagonism. It explains the current nightmare of our politicals through the lens of history.

Severe outcomes have a delay. It takes 3-4w to go from infection to hospital and 4-6w to go from infection to ICU.
Again its more the process of separating the two that people have a problem with, and as I've said before any industrial process is dirty and messy. But you typically never see the photos after the cleanup is done.

I recommend these nifty covers

What I've settled on:
Only thing I can find was posted on PlayerFM by The Bear and its been archived :/

Here's a pod cast breaking down the real costs by reviewing shareholders meeting minutes. It's going to be way more than the 4.5 billion.
I forgot to mention - there is a great book series that I had when I was younger - this one in particular is about Alberta (I believe there were quite a few, actually!). https://www.amazon.ca/Ghost-Stories-Alberta-Barbara-Smith/dp/0888821522
https://www.amazon.ca/Power-No-Because-Abundance-Happiness/dp/1401945872
This may be of help. Sometimes we think we are doing better for ourselves and others by agreeing to everything, but if you're stressed and strung out, who are you helping?
The last two years could be a great lesson for those of us who tend to over-commit to other people.
Thanks. It says snow tires or chains. Will a chi as like this work?

Then you place the widget on the screen you want and can select one photo and resize it. I took my vaccination sheet and cropped it to just the QR code
Where abouts in the mountains? Red Rock Canyon In Waterton. Quite south of the typical ‘Rockies’ experience but mountains none the less
I can’t find it on their site either! But here’s a link to the registration form (it’s free, but you need to register to receive webinar login details)
My biggest advice- get a long coat. I have a trench style winter coat that I have had for almost 15 years. It is SO warm, and I think a big reason for that is its length. If my legs/knees/hips stay warm then my whole body will stay that way. I am actually shocked at how well it has worked for me for so many years. I can't tell you the brand- because I have had it for so long the tag has worn away- but it is kinda like this style: https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Double-breasted-cashmere-Trench-Woolen/dp/B01KXGBMGQ
I remember paying about 200 for it- that was almost 15 years ago though.
how long ya here for? there are so many great places off the beaten path, but they are also a bit away from that highway.
click the map on this site https://www.alltrails.com/canada/alberta
check out the cool hikes just off the path.
one that i would recommend if you are not a hardcore hiker, is "the coliseum" near nordegg.
Nordegg also has some great food in the town that is skipped for the tourist traps out on that Hwy 93. though at Sask crossing there is great icecream though apparently...
but check out that site. it has some good waterfall hikes and such too.
> how can you know the next order you place with a different brand isn't coming out of the very same kitchen?
That one's easy; at least with this particular example it's the first thing on the page.
Keystone XL.. taxpayers money... big federally funded pipeline that got cancelled followed by layoffs which were then followed by these bonuses????
I'm just gonna let you put this one together yourself.. if you can't put this together I dunno what the fuck to say man.. simple stuff.
Also: "A public company differs from a private company in several distinct ways. Stockholder ownership: While many private companies are owned by a small group of individuals (or even one single person), most public companies have majority ownership from their stockholders, who buy and sell securities as a way to make money."

I'd echo a couple of other users here, most of the time it's actually much higher than promised. I've noticed speedtest is actually not necessarily accurate, and some of the servers a person can select don't actually hit very high speeds at all - so that may be an issue for some here.
Regarding the comments here on Shaw open, I've never had it not work as long as the devices I've signed up are done so correctly.
Not really sure, when I was looking at the bottom graphic I thought that it used a lot of colours like those eye tests in grade school used.
Some very quick searching has come up with these resources:
-https://www.tableau.com/about/blog/examining-data-viz-rules-dont-use-red-green-together
Check out this YouTube channel. It does simple dishes with humor. https://www.youtube.com/c/yousuckatcooking
As well, check out this book. I got it as a gift back in the 80s and Its a little dated, but can teach you how to cook easy nutritious meals and snack for little ones. I still have some of the recipes memorized and use them with my grandkids. Feed Me, I'm Yours
You can buy these portable locks they’re used by people who stay in hotels and stuff and don’t trust they’re the only one with a key. It’s 100% removable and just provides and extra barrier. It’s just a mechanism you put on the door. So sorry this happened

Have you run out?
Per https://www.reuters.com/world/us/exclusive-us-developing-plan-require-foreign-visitors-be-vaccinated-official-2021-08-04/ there is no plan to require people who have been in Canada for the past 14 days to provide proof of vaccination. So you don’t need proof yet. My guess is you will need proof to drive into the USA when the border “opens”, but will able to continue to fly from Canada without proof.
Buy one of these:
International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K1H8D3X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_N4ECCCDPNQ28DFEW1SY4
Take it the pharmacies that jabbed you and ask them to fill it out.
What I’m getting at is that this:
CHORTAU Dash Cam 1080P FHD 2021 Updated Car Dash Camera 3 inch Dashboard Camera with Night Vision, 170°Wide Angle, Parking Monitor, Loop Recording https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07PSDXMNV
Looks more valuable to a thief (and is much more obvious)
Than this:
VIOFO A129 Duo 2-Channel Full HD 1080p 30fps Car Dash Camera with GPS Logger & CPL Lens Filter https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07CTBB4R5
The first one is easy to see, the second can kind of hide alongside the rear view mirror mount
Everyone needs to read this book.
21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act: Helping Canadians Make Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples a Reality
This book captures the essence of the impact the Indian Act has made on Canadians. It’s easy to read, engaging, super informative and doesn’t use the ‘blame and shame’ approach.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/0995266522/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_apa_glt_i_ZKMJXNCNQDCM3DDESVJX
Based on a viral article, 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act is the essential guide to understanding the legal document and its repercussion on generations of Indigenous Peoples, written by a leading cultural sensitivity trainer.
A good read when accompanied with this:
It's called The Penguin Map of the World and this is the revised edition of 2002. Looks like they missed a few spots LOL.
If you can't install a chain, a door bar would work. As a woman who lived alone I had these on both my doors, gave me so much piece of mind, doesn't super help for her entering when you aren't home, but for when you are sleeping

Actually it is the end of the world. Austerity almost never works. Fiscally conservative is just a euphemism for making massive cuts to the public sector and social services, which will inevitably reduce economic growth (because government spending does generate growth), and accompanying that with obscene tax cuts and subsidies for the private sector, and privatizations and bandit-like 'public-private partnerships'. All things JK did.
Why would any sane thinking person who isn't rich support 'fiscal conservatism'?
https://www.amazon.ca/Intex-Challenger-1-Person-Inflatable-Aluminum/dp/B00177J4JS We bought these last year and have enjoyed them! So far have taken them out 3 times (2x on a lake, once on the river). Quick to inflate and seemed sturdy.
I bought this one two years ago but I only paid $650 for it. They carry them at SportChek/Atmosphere as well - saw them there last summer.
A reminder that linking to our (broken) contact tracing system is the justification used for our crappy ABTraceTogether app.
A second reminder to download the COVID Alert app for iPhone or Android ASAP. Not only it is an effective way to get alerted if you come in contact with someone in another province who later tests positive, but if our government ever comes to its senses and enables the app, it will log your exposures before entering a one-time code gets enabled.
Great start is here: https://www.thegwpf.org/content/uploads/2019/11/Kelly-1.pdf
If you can handle a heavy read I’d suggest Energy and Civilizations by Vaclav Smil
