I found it on an app on Play Store called My Watchface [Free] for Amazfit Bip. The ID for the watchface is below. Just copy it and go to the Search for ID section in the app.
ID: RfnuUgmljyhqyxBWWC4n
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.huami.watch.hmwatchmanager
looks like it's still available but because it wasn't compatible with my device, I couldn't find it either. IDK why it's not compatible anymore, I have the app installed
Amazfit Tools is well worth looking into. I use it to fine-tune my notifications by app, set contact priorities for incoming calls (to elevate loved ones' priorities) and various other things. It works alongside the Mi Fit app.
There are alternatives, but this is the one I prefer.
Gadgetbridge - if you are uncomfortable with how the Mi Fit app sells your data. You will have to install this from the F-Droid app store.
Amazfit Watchfaces - https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/
Amazfit Bip Assistant - made by /u/hrofenk for media controls. I haven't used it myself so I can't say much about it but it seems to be less clunky than the Tasker work around. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.frohenk.amazfit
Yeah, it's from a build that integrates with Chinese services but is localized for English (and probably other languages). In their versioning 3.3.4.9 seems to be a beta of 3.3.5 or 3.4. I think they do Play Store releases with Fit integration only when they bump the minor version.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/anhui-huami-information-technology-co-ltd/mi-fit/
Ok, I don't know enough about tech or watches to understand the end-to-end part. Wouldn't something like Gadgetbridge solve the idea of your watch data leaving your phone (at least for Android users)? https://gadgetbridge.org/
I also have this one and like it a lot, but it's obviously a lot more expensive and you have to be careful about sizing.
Hey. Thanks mate. 🙂
Found an app on Play Store - here is a link for the same, followed the instructions and voila. Not sure if the same is available on iOS app store. There are more Watchfaces to choose from - but I like this one. ✌️
I got it from this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paolo4c.amazfit.watchfaces
Choose “English” on the sidebar and search “Minimal". It's the third option.
P.s. happy cake day!
I use the Mifit app (for configuring watch settings, syncing fitness/sleep) and the Alert Bridge app (personalising how alerts are sent) on Android.
Can this be set up to vibrate for texts/calls?
Yes. Callers names are shown on screen, with the option to ignore/hang-up. Vibration/alerting of calls is optional.
How hard is it to enable/disable notifications?
You turn off 'app alerts' in the mi-fit app. I can put the watch into do-not-disturb mode by clicking the side button, scrolling up, hitting the big DND icon.
Can I disable all fitness functionality?
Heart rate detection can be turned off. I can't find an option to turn off step tracking.
Can I disable all GPS functionality? GPS only functions during an 'activity'. Don't do an activity and GPS won't ever turn on.
Can I disable all weather info?
You can disable pushing weather. You can remove the weather menu from the watch
Does an app always have to be running on my phone to push notifications to my watch?
Yes
How hard is it to create your own custom watch faces? Are there any recommended tutorials for doing so? Dunno about that. There's a lot of watch faces about though.
How visible is the Amazfit branding on the face in person?
Small 'AMAZFIT' text at the bottom of the watch in the bezel.
It's worth noting the battery life depends on the amount of screen refreshes - so watch displays that include seconds will deplete battery quicker.
The bridge app allows me to filter out certain alerts by content and source. It also translates emojis into something readible - the font on the watch can't cope with them yet. The Mifit app can only filter by app.
The Bip is great for what it is, but it is not an app-hosting device like the Pebble is. There are some third party apps like Notifications for Amazfit and Tools for Amazfit that put some scripting capability on the app in the phone, so you might be able to do something with that. But if your watch was out of range of the phone, it wouldn't work, the way the Pebble does.
I'm new with the BIP so I don't think I have cool tips but can share some of my configuration. For watchfaces I use this app. I have disable notifications except the SMS (for 2 steps verification SMS's) and calls. I have set the HR to every 10 minutes. The BIP came with 91% battery, today is my second week and I have 48% so you can have easily more than a month if you set to only when sleeping or every 30 minutes.
The Mi app is very visual and easy to understand but don't forget to check the configuration app in the BIP itselft.
yep, the app makes watch-face swapping really easy. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paolo4c.amazfit.watchfaces
I use this one: https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/bip/view/?id=556
Reminds me of pebble somehow.
Personally, of all the apps I've tried, I preferred this one because it has integration with Strava, Google fit, and RunKeeper. As well as better fine-tuning of notifications. It does not require the official Mi fit app to be installed. Some of the features require in app purchases, but I'm always okay doing this if I get a lot of us out of an app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1
I got mine on saturday~
love it! went thought the settings in Mi fit and the only setting that i changed was "lift wrist to view info" turned if off at night, so that it doesn't keep lighting on when im in bed and playing with my phone.
There's also amazfit tools that is highly recommended, but atm i don't need it. Im happy with how my bip works.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak.amazfittools
edit: i am slowly finding new stuff to do with my BIP! got google fit and synced it, so that my fitness pal could sync with google fit. =D
Perfect.
I believe it's 1.1.5.04, you can check it in the settings of the watch itself. In terms of funcionallity little to none has been added since launch, but probably makes the watch run smoother. To update the watch's firmware simply link it to your phone via the Mi fit app.
P.d: If you are unpatient you can always get the latest version from here
And i recommend you to look for tutorials on youtube on how to change the watchfaces.
I unify responses here:
> I don't check it often. In fact I check it as you do - To see my step count in evening and sleep tracking after getting up. Even I wonder why the usage stats are so high 🙄🙄 have you installed the App from Playstore ? I think I've installed from Apk mirror and my App version is 3.4.4 is that what your App version is?
Sometimes I update through the Play Store sometimes from Apk Mirror, last time from the web. My current version is 3.4.5.1 but I never had the problem you have in any version.
Edit: 3.4.5.2 released today
> Since I've the location disabled, does the App keep searching for the watching and hence keeping it active all the time?
You can try to enable it a couple of days and check what happens.
The other solution I can think is delete the app and reinstall but I'm afraid you loose all the data about your health so it would only be the last solution. BTW I've just remembered that there's other apps that can substitute the Mi Fit, there's plenty information about them in this sub.
That's an interesting site! I didn't know about it. I only knew of this unofficially curated spreadsheet listing LineageOS-capable phones with some of their characteristics, and I've basically been cross-referencing it with GSMArena to find suitable phones, but honestly, it's a tedious process and the spreadsheet is sometimes inaccurate or out of date.
About the Moto G... the original Moto G, since I have one, I must say that while it's a very respectable phone, it's really really slow even with a lean LineageOS without any GApps, these days. I'd go for a later generation of it. I also have a Galaxy S3 (i9300, the supported version), and if it had 2GB of RAM it would probably still be snappy enough for me, but with 1GB, it's starting to be painfully slow at times, too... I wish LineageOS hadn't dropped support for the i9305 variant, i.e. the one with LTE and 2GB of RAM.
If you use the official Zepp app it upload all your data to their servers, and you can only download gpx of your workouts, I don't see any option to download other data like sleep tracking, steeps or heart rate. Another option is to use Gadgetbridge, it is compatible with some Amazfit smartwatches, and is focused in privacy, I don't know if it is reliable or if you loose some functionality, because this app isn't compatible with my smartwatch. You can check it here: https://gadgetbridge.org/
I use the free OsmAnd with Gadgetbridge: in Pebble mode, the notifications contain exactly what the text-to-speech navigator would say.
Nice review. Thanks for making it. You showed me that the activities tab has useful information.
I'd just point out the watch itself is running a modified version of Android 5.x (not Android wear), and ADB works to sideload apps, but I'm not sure how you would then launch those sideload apps.
Mac computer users need to install Google's Android file transfer app inorder to copy music (mp3s, and M3u? Playlists) to the watch using the USB cable. https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
The pai implementation has a bug (namely current age about half of what it should be) .
I recommend installing the pai app alongside, it works better for me.
That app also has more helpful explanations.

Replacement Compatible for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DFDVS5N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Got a set of 12 Breathable Sport Wristbands off Amazon. I mix and match the colors. Love them!! I use them on both my GTS 2 and GTS 2 mini.
I purchased a version of these from AliExpress, they are around $2 each from there but if you want them quicker Amazon is the way to go.
I wear mine 24/7 excluding when charging obviously and barely notice it there, and don’t find it hot or sticky like the silicon bands.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08FY58DXD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_GGPRJYT7YYF13VG1PCYX
Try a fabric/ velcro watch strap. It's a game changer in comfort, and while it certainly doesn't look as good as silicon, leather, or metal, it's worth it for the comfort. Just get a black one for like 7 bucks. You barely notice it on your wrist. I've never gone back!

Probably a bit more expensive than Alixpress but this one I got from amazon looks identical

(currently wearing it now and it looks exactly like the one pictured)
If you use this app Amazfit Bip Button Controller you can get music control along with a bunch of other commands. It uses the single button on the side for these commands and there's a variety of button pushes and holds to pick. The app says it's for OG Bip but it should work for the Bip Lite too.
I would suggest installing Notify & Fitness (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1&hl=en_GB).
Then you start and activity such as trekking to enable the GPS tracking. Once complete, this will sync with the app and you can export the GPS info as a GPX file.
Under Android you can now use the tracker for navigation as well. This can be done with an app running on your smartphone. It transports the navigation to the MiBand 3 or the Amazfit Bip Smartwatch by means of notifications. The navigation itself is done via Google Maps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.re.mibandmaps&hl=de
Yeah, there was an update to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paolo4c.amazfit.watchfaces yesterday that mentioned the missing Chinese Temple watch face so it's not just you. Says to use the Sydney one instead temporarily.
You don't need to. Go to the https://amazfitwatchfaces.com/bip/ - get the bin file you like and then open the https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paolo4c.amazfit.watchfaces&hl=en_US app. In the top right there will be an option to upload the bin file - use that and select the bin file you just downloaded. If the bin file is valid, the app will ask you to choose the Chinese template watch face from the MI app. Upon selecting that - you will be asked to sync with the watch. Do that and you have your custom watch face.
I use tools & amazfit (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak.amazfittools&hl=nl). In this app I configured 2 buttons presses to show the latest notification. Might be a little faster. Also this app lets you configure the message a notification shows.
It's quite advanced and takes some time to configure but I'm really happy with my customization results.
I had a problem with Alert Bridge. It was sending repeat notifications - as in the same notifications over and over until I shut it down. I have now installed Tools and Amazfit and this is working perfectly.
I haven't test it but supposedly the Tools & Amazfit app that does a lot of other things is supposed to push notifications to the watch when it reconnects to bluetooth.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak.amazfittools
Almost all the problems I have with the Amazfit Bip are software problems. Some in the Mi Fit app that the Tools app tries to correct, some in the watch firmware. I'm hoping they update the firmware to address some of those. Like with notifications, they need to make the length of time a notification stays up a user selectable setting. And more importantly make it easier to clear notifications! Maybe add small buttons at the bottom of each notification like on the phone call notification to clear all or clear one. Or even it's a swipe to the side to get to a clear all button the same way you do for the delete one button. It's really annoying that they don't auto clear when cleared from the phone, having conversations with people can lead to having to swipe through hundreds of messages to get to the clear all button lol. So I guess the true ultimate fix would be to make them clear from the watch when cleared from the phone, maybe vice versa as well with a setting to enable that.
i go with this route for changing watchface.. http://www.startlr.com/how-to-install-a-personalized-watch-face-on-amazfit-bip-via-mi-fit/
there is a simpler way .. by using this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1 but seems no luck for me..
I'm not on iOS for my phone, but have you tried Rungap? Does it fill the gap you're looking for in the interim?
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rungap-workout-data-manager/id534460198?mt=8
For Android, there is Syncmytracks:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syncmytracks
Also, the Marathon Life watchface uses the 12 hour format.
Had an original Trex and now a GTR4. The lack off "real" AOD really bugged me on the Trex (there were only 2 AOD faces to choose from).
I put a case/protector on the GTR4 and I'd say it probably ends up rugged-adjacent enough for me, and every watchface that I've tried so far has it's own AOD component.
I'd recommend the Amazfit Neo, its a simple smart watch with a nice retro aesthetic.
You don't need to worry about charging it all the time, and its small enough to accommodate a woman's wrist.
And worst case, she doesn't like it, or isn't into smartwatches, then well, its not a very expensive device, so not a worry. Alternatively I'd recommend something like this, not a full featured smartwatch, but the aesthetics are on point.
Amazfit gts 4 mini is nice, and you can get some awesome bands to fit. Get tuned black option and fit it with a black and gold strap like this one - https://www.amazon.com/Watchbands-Stainless-Ceramic-Polished-Accessories/dp/B0841GMVRZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_38?adgrpid=82211520435&gclid=CjwKCAiApvebBhAvEiwAe7mHSLUP5wvYlj5ny5qIc6_siAC-iYGrVIVMMg9Ku3Lr8zihYbgQ-ESdURoC_O8QAvD_BwE&hvadid=58536254681...
Not in the UK.. it's 16% off, currently £159 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazfit-GTR-Pro-Monitoring-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B09FXRP9MX/ref
BUT - it was on a flash sale occasionally for £142.40 back in July to August
Assuming you are replying to me, you need to use the notify app which you can find on the Google Play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1
Use this instead of the official app. When you work it out, you will see a lot more options open to you such as syncing with Google Fit.
I ordered some film protectors like a week ago, and a case about 3 days ago on amazon. Aliexpress has all of the above, and cheaper, if you can wait for the horrid shipping times to the states.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHSPRHBF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That's the case I ordered, and it has a tempered glass screen. I'll still likely film my actual watch though.

It held up great. A few scuffs but not bad. I liked it enough I bought a 2nd one for backup. Recently upgraded to GTR4 and it matches, but I got another band that's similar and had the rounded edges to sit flush against the watch. Been using it now instead.

If you're finding this post in some far-flung future search of the interwebs, indeed as of 10/13/22 Amazon does carry their first GTS 4 case- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHZ5CQ8P/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
last night, when i made the post, i swear it was 51%
this morning, its 49% off so 329 here in uk
I don't know.
But if privacy is important to you use a third party app that stores data locally. I use Notify & Fitness with my Amazfit Bip (first gen, from 2017, model A1608)
years ago, my BIP updated the A-GPS every 3 days or so, very annoying indeed. Then I didn't use the default phone app anymore (MiFit or Zepp app), and changed to a third party app Notify & Fitness(GadgetBridge will work too). This app doesn't auto update the A-GPS, but you can still do it manually if you want.
For anyone following this, the racetrack grey option is now available on Amazozn UK, estimated delivery 15th Oct onwards.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B8CLCJ2Y/ref=pe\_991361\_665160631\_fxm\_4\_0\_i\_id
I use these: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09NXGCQ1P?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
They are good, but smudge too easily I think.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7LGB5M9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details These are terrific. The best of multiple I've tried. I will say, I've tried the black and orange from multiple batches and sellers. The black is amazing. Fits great, STAYS on there, and you can charge with it. Both batches, from different sellers, the buttons on the orange don't work. Like it's a manufacturing defect. I'm sure they're made at the same factory. If you're looking for black, though? Works like you'd want it to. Great product. I haven't tried the other colors to see if they're perfect like the black, or shit like the orange.

Not sure why the orange doesn't work. Like the buttons either don't "push" or some of them are always "pushed". The black is great though and I'm very happy I purchased that one.
I got my wife the new GTS4 because it looks more girly. She had the GTR3 before this, but the new GTR4 looks more manly. She really likes this watch, just getting used to going from the round version to a square version.
I ordered screen protectors for the GTS3 model and they fit the new 4 model perfectly. Anyone looking to get one, this is the one I ordered for her.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WNCW8Y5
Now I am just waiting on them to release the GTR4 in the gray model for myself!
It's a companion app like Notify and Fitness to crankout functionality from the band/watch. I'm more of a N&F fan (has an active telegram/discord) but I do like the Amazfit Tools' watchface search app over AmazFaces (except for not having the source of the face listed) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.zdenekhorak.amazfitwatchfaces. It's already embedded in the Amazfit Tools app if you choose AT.
Your experience depends on your watch (as all are not fully supported due to how many new ones come out-check the play store description carefully) and your patience.
If you try n&f, the volume of settings is daunting, but there's usually a ? to clarify. Also know where the search button is to find settings faster.
Couldn't find a way to add variables through autovoice smart home , but i have found an alexa skill to make calls and text, some what does the job but maybe not replying to stuff. You could give it a try and see if it works. https://www.amazon.com/Phone-Link-Texting-Calling-Finder/dp/B0844ZTFM5
Also it seem to have some limitations in free version.
Gadgetbridge doesn't need any other app, it's a stand alone app. Yes it does have a section where you can send text as notification to the watch from within the app. But ig theres https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amfit.splitter amazfit Splitter too
This is the app I use to change my Amazfit watch faces for my T-Rex and GTR 3 Pro and there are tons of great watch faces there created by some really talented folks. Amazfit Watch Faces on the Google Play App Store.

I bought the same type of protectors from Amazon. They fit well. Easy to put on and off. I got a set that has a bunch of colors so if I change the wristband, I can find one to match.
I don’t know how I found it, but it is available here. Search doesn’t bring it up. I think they listed it wrong.
u/lolroads, you are right. It is not available at the Amazon Canada online store. However, many people order directly from the Amazon US store and ship it to Canada. https://www.amazon.com/Amazfit-Military-Grade-Real-time-Navigation-Waterproof-Black/dp/B09XVDX497?ref_=ast_sto_dp
With this 3rd party app you can select what apps you would like to receive notifications for...

I'm not sure if you like the style but these are a very breathable design and this brand offers cheap multipacks along with small/large options.
These are my favorite bands for Pebble and my GTS 2 Mini. The flap is flat so it is still easy to type on a keyboard. The magnet flap makes it easy to take on and off.
https://www.amazon.com/Stan-Lee-Compatible-Stainless-Magnetic/dp/B08HPTD6BP
I have the GTR 3 (non pro) and there are tons of bands to choose from. Its just a standard size no? Here is an apple style band for cheap
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.appyhapps.healthsync
Try this one, I can't promise it supports Zepp health but I used to use this awhile back to sync health data from Samsung Health back and forth to Google Fit.
Bip S Lite is on sale for $40. I also try to fix before replacing, time/parts/chance-of-failure might not be worth it.
Specifically, I have always had to use a third-party app for notifications because the MiFit (and now Zepp Life) app will always send 2 notifications for every text message, and I would love to not have to juggle multiple apps to manage the watch, but I don't know if this is still an issue.
I use Notify & Fitness without Zepp Life. You can combine both apps. If I remeber well, switch off notifications in Zepp app and configure them in Notify & Fitness only.
The other thing that would be a huge nice to have is the ability to respond to notifications, specifically something like a 2-factor auth notification asking for verification. I know at least some of the latest models allow some amount of phone control (e.g. playback), but I haven't been able to find if that extends to broader applications.
Notify & Fitness allows to program button press keys. I configured mine like this: button double press: dismiss the notification on the phone, button triple press: send the last notification from the phone again to the watch.
You can get what is prob the best smartwatch out for only $84 on eBay (Galaxy Watch 4). Then go to Amazon and buy a 5 pack of bands for less than $10. I got one from this guy and it came completely flawless. You can even add a 2yr warranty on eBay for just $12.99 if you are worried about it.
Looks like it’s just for Android.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mc.amazfit1&hl=en_US&gl=US
There is a different app that helps expand your capabilities in iOS, Amaztools…
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amaztools-watchfaces-more/id1386033880
Seeing this using Notify for Amazfit & Zepp too. I did a walk yesterday and the watch (Amazfit GTS2 Mini) show me a map of the route but the app, and subsequently Strava, show only the first half mile. :-(
You can still find many BIPs for no money second hand! $20 is no exception!
I regularly return to the BIP, because it's so light and comfortable, combined with the always on screen and that extremely long battery life! First I missed a kind of GPS tracker and editable alarms on the watch, but now my BIP runs BipOS and I changed to Notify & Fitness app, now and all is there.
I would go with the GTS 2 Mini. It has a metal case, which looks a lot nicer than plastic, it has a much better display, and it has Alexa (if you wanted that). If you're in the US, it is currently on sale over on Amazon for $80. The Bip U Pro will cost about $60-70, so I'd say the 2 Mini is worth the extra few bucks.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PCYKXV5/ref=ox\_sc\_saved\_title\_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
about mocha green, the band is green (and it's kinda a cool green in my opinion :) ) but it's only the band, the watch itself it titanium silver and you can change your band in like 20 seconds
and about watchfaces, there is a website called this...go and download a watchface for gtr2 or 2e, it gives you a .bin file
then using this app and install my own watchface, you can install that .bin file
Look up the size (I think its 20 but double check) and then if its a pin lock, lookup '20mm quick release watch strap' on Amazon or wherever. The original ones are garbage and caused me to get a friction burn.
I got these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097YFGKK5/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_YH4N5QJNGWZWHN1HBZHV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Because they're soft and I really like the apple watch straps. There's tons of other ones that are cheap on Amazon, they just won't say they're amazfit compatible.
I love Casio watches, I had two of them that lasted 30 years combined (I had a Citizen before, and a Bulova before that). Problem was, while Casio watches lasted forever, Casio bands lasted 30 days before starting to crumble (maybe they have improved, I wouldn't know because I have used mine with a velcro strip for band for the past 8 or 10 years). It's unbelievable there is no Casio smartwatch.
Are you sure the mini can only use the faces from their app? It seems to me that the AmazFaces app support them https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazfitwatchfaces.st
There is a app similar to mi band maps for the amazfit watches. It will show the basic direction arrow and other data like distance but can't show the full map. It won't be efficient anyways https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.re.mibandmaps
Try downloading it from this link:

from apk mirror, but it didn't work with mi fit (from google play store). Is this that only 2.6.4 app version works with mi fit? Or what I have done incorrectly (e.g. wrong mi fit app)?

Gonna try to post pic. Let me know if you can see it.

I bought this one. And it's perfectly fit.

There’s this one too on Amazon that I have. Maybe they also have a website you can try if India doesn’t do Amazon.
Can recommend this

When you click on a watch face it usually wants to play you a crappy video but just press your back button to dismiss it.
Something I noticed about Google Fit is that it seems to have like a separate process that converts synced data into Google Fit's data. I feels like there's one set of "servers"(for lack of a better explanation) that accepts synced data, and another set of "servers" that parses it. And seems like they work independently of each other at whatever rate the feel like. I use Health Sync app(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.appyhapps.healthsync) to also sync between Google Fit and Samsung Health and after run sync sometimes new data shows up right away but sometimes it can take hours for it to look correct...So I feel there's some blame to Google Fit too. (I also asked dev of this app about Zepp and they said Zepp refused to work with them to add support)
I've been eyeing up, I think it's the GTS? And use gadget bridge currently for my, now dying pebble. This page describes pairing procedures for both rooted and non-rooted phones.
I haven't got the device yet, but if I do I'd be taking this route.
So maybe it's time for a custom firmware? The gadgetbridge-wiki says, that a custom firmware is unlikely, but technically should be doable, even thought I don't know how hard it would be ... does someone know if there are people working on that?
I've also owned the BIP before, and the pairing works different for GTS. I think it took me 2-3 attempts until the Server Pairing method worked for me. There was also a firmware incompatibility in the past (for a very short time only, but still).
Actually, some amazfit gadgets can act as BLE HR sensors. Please see:
https://codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Gadgetbridge/wiki/Heart-Rate-data-sharing
I can personally confirm that the HR from the BIP S is accessible through BLE explorer through this method.
I got one of these

Lightweight, comfortable and very flexible. I suppose it doesn't exactly exude a 'premium' look but it's definitely not cheap and nasty. It doesn't catch on things because the strap end goes inside and the buckle is nicely finished. I like it!
I just received this watch band today. I tested it on my wife's silver version and it fits nice, but I just ordered myself a black GTR3 so it will match. I'll try to post some pics up once I get the black watch delivered.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the GTR 3 black version and ordered this watch band to hopefully match the color...

I really wanted the fossil gen 6, but knowing how my gen 5 is with battery I decided against it. My gen 5 one day last until about 30-40% when I go to bed, then another day it would die by noon for no reason at all. Those would just be average days...if you did exercise for 30+ those numbers were way worse.
I figured for the cost and my wife loving her's and the awesome stats the app tracks vs the fossil, i'd give it a shot. I noticed the gtr3 feels like your not wearing a watch. Its super light vs the fossil i have now. Hopefully I like it!
Gadgetbridge is an Android (4.4+) application which will allow you to use your Pebble, Mi Band, Amazfit Bip and HPlus device (and more) without the vendor's closed source application and without the need to create an account and transmit any of your data to the vendor's servers.
