Yes, the graph is from 2019, but the tickrate is still 20 and minimal improvements will not noticeably change delays.
After 2 years they release an indepth blog about netcode (https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/servers-netcode-developer-deep-dive) which can be summarized with the thread title.
There are 2 ranking systems in Ranked Arena, Visible (The rank you see) and Hidden (The MMR that RSPN has talked about here)
Matchmaking will be based on a combination of the 2 ranks combined but more weight will be put on the Hidden rank.
IF your Hidden rank is higher (By a certain margin) than your opponents, Then you'll earn less AP for that win.
IF your Hidden rank is LOWER than your opponents then youll earn MORE AP for a win (This is the "Bonus" AP they talk about in that post above)
The Visible rank CAN be MANY tiers/ranks lower than your hidden one and vice versa.
Once your Visible and Hidden rank "Equal out" then your AP per win will fluctuate a little bit due to your Hidden rank being higher or lower than your opponents.
There’s patch notes for every major update.
Here’s the notes for Emergence.
Usually, there’s a big patch for the start of a new season, then another one for the mid season (collection event). Then there’s smaller patches sometimes, like the hotfix nerf that reduced prowler damage and LStar strafe speed this week (and increased their Arenas costs).
The official explanation for how Ranked Arenas Points are supposed to work:
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/arenas-ranked
...although it's clearly borked.
I was playing with a buddy who is 2 whole tiers higher than me, and he was getting more AP for our wins than I got. That makes no sense.
I even won a ranked arenas game 2v3 when matchmaking failed to give me a 3rd teammate, and nobody on either team went AFK or disconnected, and I still only got +20 AP from that.
I've usually been getting +13 AP for wins & -13 AP or worse for losses.
Each tier requires 1,600 AP to rank up.
At +13 AP per win, it would literally take 124 wins with zero losses just to rank up one tier.
When factoring in -13 AP or worse for some losses, it would take an eternity.
At this rate, it's mathematically impossible to progress within a 90-day season, except maybe for a few elite slayers who play 14+ hours-a-day 7-days-a-week.
I really hope they re-work the ranked arenas points system very soon.
Has anybody seen any official sources saying Ranked Arenas Points will be rebalanced?
If so, would you please share a link to that quote/announcement? Thanks.
Frags are good at getting surprise damage because they always have the same fuse timer, which allows you to explode a grenade at someone’s feet with no time to react if done correctly.
The amount of Points you gain and lose depend on your Matchmaking Rating, a hidden statistic. You lose, your MMR goes down, you win, it goes up.
>1. Your rank, which is your visible skill rating (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold, all the way up to Predator, just like the BR ranking system).
> 2. An underlying MMR (matchmaking rating) score, a number which is invisible to everyone, including you. This is the number we use to determine who you should be matched against in Ranked Arenas.
For all the ranks (Bronze-Master) there is a MMR associated with it. Is your Rank higher than the associated MMR, you'll gain only little points for wins and lose more points for defeats. Vice versa, is your MMR higher than your Rank, you lose less points (usually 12) and gain more points for wins.
>The amount of bonus AP you get for wins will start to shrink as your rank converges with your MMR. This means that by the end of the season, your rank will be a more accurate measure of your skill and represent where you actually rank in relation to everyone else playing that season.
According to Respawn, the seasonal/split ranked distribution only accounts for players who played 5+ hours in ranked. REFERENCE: https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/amp/news/season-8-ranked
This trend continues back at least to Season 3. REFERENCE:. https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/ranked-series-4-details
Regardless of the seasonal fluctuation of a few percentage, the fact remains, the vast majority of the ranked playerbase DO NOT make it to Diamond.
Aside from making up random statistics in your head, do you care to provide any evidence to support your point of view?
They released a document about the servers netcode etc, part of it talks about this
"In every game since the dawn of online gaming, the main problem for developers to solve is how to fake real time action in something that is not operating in real-time. Essentially, everything you do in online games is delayed because of the latency to the server and back. A lot of things add to this: inputs, rendering, and yes, even server tickrate.
Even worse, on top of all that is your opponent who almost certainly plays with a different level of latency than yours. To solve this, our servers have to constantly look at not only what’s happening for you and your opponent at that moment, but also what was happening from both your perspectives at the time both of you input your actions. Lag compensation is the art of merging slightly different experiences into one shared reality.
There is no perfect solution. There is not one truth. At the end of the day, the server is a sort of time machine. It constantly rolls back the world state to see if your shot hit someone, and then updates the world for everyone accordingly. "
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/servers-netcode-developer-deep-dive
Theres a lot more in the doc.
Hey. First of all thx for attention to my Apex Map.
Im not sure I have to add locations of all the supply bins to the map. As for me Its kinda useless info. But I would like to explore the source file of the map. My low English level did not let me to find any info about vpk`s. So I dont know where to start.
In my turn, if u want course, I can help you with a question like (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apex.legendscompanion&reviewId=gp%3AAOqpTOGHPG349v5VBXPA1fXEm9MMFTcmUxepYKsYQysokMIYIndwC7G1-pUbRBq8t615BP0L47RlertlxIBCMA)[this #1]
132MB is that too much? Yes, but I had to finish my app as soon as possible. So I didnt create a switcher betweed offline map source & tileserver. At the moment I am satisfied with this compromise (132mb instead of 13mb, but offline mode is available).
^ ...LOL but if platinum & higher players don't queue with a full party, matchmaking gives them bronze & silver random teammates (or even teammates still in placement matches) who die fast & first - setting the entire team up to fail & get de-ranked from AP loss.
This system seems like it was a rushed afterthought.
What's made ranked arenas more enjoyable for me is finding like-minded people to squad up with regularly. I'll send post-match invites & friend requests to the good randoms who I enjoy playing with, which has slowly built up my list of people to party up with so I don't need to solo-queue as much. Also try the r/ApexLFG subReddit.
Not a huge K/M player, but what I can say is playing smaller crappier games such as Krunker.io will definitely help with your input speed and key spot memorization. Lmk what you think. Hope it helps.
Personality i found out wasn't worth losing the sensitivity so i just got a 1 handed keyboad off amazon. I'm using the default sense and. 450 dpi. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XYWZNSD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_TWGZHH2GQMV7ZX6MCBNA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Here's a back button extension pack for Xbox that i use and it works really well. I dont use the mods tho cause those are basically cheating lol Collective Minds Strike Pack Eliminator Mod Pack - Xbox One https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07ZL9G9HJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GHM7AZBAZ6T63CXET6C6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you’re not gonna use mods then its worth it, you have no idea how much your gameplay changes when u can jump ans crouch while having thumbs and triggers in position. If you you can buy Sony’s paddles. AMAZON LINK TO PADDLES
You can also try some joystick extenders like the KontrolFreeks and use them on your right joystick, helps a lot with controlling recoil and tracking while also keeping a fast response when turning around quickly.
Like everyone has said, new controller time.
If you don't play with paddles you could try the new KingKong 2 controller which is supposed to not get any stick drift due to the hall sensors they use. https://www.amazon.com/KingKong-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo-Switch-Bluetooth/dp/B09QJN8ZD9
8bitdo also uses GuliKit's hall sensors on their bluetooth ultimate controller that has two rear buttons. https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Bluetooth-Controller-Charging-Gaming-Console/dp/B0B9BGJVLL?th=1
Never used either as I main a Fusion Pro 2, but the idea of no stick drift is intriguing. If one comes out with 4 buttons/paddles, I'm definitely giving it a try.
They slow down your aim and make it more precise so yes they can be good for those that would like that sort of thing. Kontrolfreeks are pretty bad though, mine only lasted a few months(maybe 300 hours of playtime)before the plastic wore down and was unusable. These ones are way more affordable and have lasted me over 2 years(4500 hours of playtime) and have remained the same quality throughout that time and feel wayy better overall. Cant beat $10 for a 8 pack that will literally last 1000s of hours
I use a PowerA Fusion Pro on PC. I got the first model about 2 years ago for about $60 from Target and it's still holding up well.
> Surprised people havent just started making keyboards with only WASD and relevant keys already
They have ugly shit like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-Colorful-Backlit-Professional/dp/B07SDMWXLN/ but there's not really not much point, might as well use an actual keyboard. You don't have to touch keys you don't use.
From the video on best gaming monitors, the Viewsonic XG-series IPS monitors seems to have among the best colours, anti-blur, contrast and so fourth, I haven't gotten as far as to try one myself yet, but that's probably going to be my recommendation.
Seeing how you're on an XBOX and not PC, grabbing a monitor supporting anything above 144hz is probably money spent you don't get much benefit out of, so the XG2531 Optimum Tech recommends is probably an overkill, so for your use I think the best bang for bucks would be the ViewSonic XG2405 linked here. If you had them side by side, there's a possibility that you'd prefer the performance of one of the top condenders such as Acer or Asus, but you're definitely going to have a good time with the one I linked.
Here's a review of the monitor I linked by an even more reputable hardware review channel, albeit more generic than OptimumTech whose is very FPS oriented.
If the monitor you're currently working with is a cheap 24" TV that's not made for gaming, my guess is that nearly anything at 120hz or above from a reputable manufacturer is going to be a massive upgrade. One thing to note is that almost all modern monitors comes with decent built in colour correction software (buttons on the monitor itself), so going into different parts of the firing range and adjusting brightness and colours will likely improve your experience even further.
seems like amazon still selling them, but they are kinda expensive though
https://www.amazon.com/Apex-Legends-Bloodhound-PlayStation-4/dp/B07XKW623C
I think best option would be waiting it to drop into game shop
It's not PC only. It also has other platforms as well. It doesn't add up to 100%, because there's like 0.045% missing, and it's because D1 and D2 have way way less players that it wasn't visible on charts (so that data isn't available) + the accounts that don't make level 10.
Link to the app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apex.legendscompanion&hl=en&gl=IN
The part people consider cheating is the anti-recoil scripts you can use with this. Basically this can add a macro that counters recoil for you by adding inputs for you automatically. You won’t get banned for using it without the script for sure and it’s highly unlikely you would get banned for using it but you’re a scumbag if you do
I use this paddle controller that really affordable after my elite 2 took a shit. Highly recommend and it’s currently on sale actually
https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-FUSION-Controller-gamepad-gaming-x/dp/B08XXWJ787
24 Inch 144Hz Gaming Monitor, Prechen IPS Screen FHD 1920 x 1080P, AMD FreeSync, 2ms, 99% sRGB, Eye Care, 3-Side Frameless Gaming Display with DisplayPort/HDMI/USB, VESA, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XTN7767/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_K3WRQM79ST4KJD7V9G62?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 $150 pretty good deal for a 144hz 1080p 24 in monitor, if you ever want to make the jump for it im sure someone will buy that tablet lol
Being a former sweaty controller player in other FPS games, I have a few different recommendations.
Option 1, best option: Paddles. If you use a PlayStation controller, you can get a two-paddle attachment here and it's not gonna break your bank like a full pro controller would.
Or, if you run on an Xbox controller, you could look at the fusion which is definitely the most bang for your buck deal on a pro controller. It's nearly 1/4th the price of any other good option and has great durability and also offers tons of features. My friend likes it better than his $200+ scuff
Option 2: I'd recommend changing your toggle zoom bind to something else. Or just don't use it and start using 2x/3x rather than 2-4x. But in reality, you could move your toggle zoom to a d-pad button and be able to use it just fine, because the only times you should be toggling your zoom is when you're in a spot where you don't have to actively be moving, rather than mid fight/close range engagement. If this messes with your sprint, just try auto sprint. I personally use it on kbm, and anyone I play with who's on controller uses it.
I know these aren't ideal solutions, but they're definitely options to fix the issue. The paddles are definitely the best solution, and they are actually surprisingly affordable with the options I shared. If you have questions/concerns feel free to ask
Im on pc, im using a pretty cheap audio setup lmao https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08D96BQJL/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o03\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
that would be my physical audio setup, that means that my friends setup is different to mine but he still couldnt hear the same zipline. I clipped the moment this happened,l
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-Llzsd92Fw&ab\_channel=redpzclips
here is the clip. Honestly if you can hear the zipline sound the wraith made while going up ill happily admit my audio setup is completely broken but if you cant hear it either then yeah the audio is broken.
as someone who has been around the block with monitors of all types (higher end) by far the best experience ive had and the only one that i havent been left wanting is the https://www.amazon.com/LG-38GL950G-B-Ultragear-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B07ZS1DZM1 pricy but worth it, the compromises in resolution and aspect ratio for 240 is massive and not even close to worth it. id go 360hz 1080p or uw, and using a 16:9 stretched res on uw is crazy good on apex, makes headshots and tracking feel way easier
If you're using Android, then this app would be helpful. Contains high res maps with data directly from game files. There's also weapon stats, but recoil data I'm trying to get from game files as well to render in app. There's also a LOT of other things that you'll probably never need like Stats tracker, Soundboard etc etc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apex.legendscompanion&hl=en&gl=IN
Do you have the option to go with a smaller keyboard? Maybe one without ten key pad(if you have one)? Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085ZDXGZW/ Might free up space for a larger mousing area.
Here you go. They have almost 100K reviews at 4.5 stars. Hell, if I don't use them my eyes will almost immediately start watering and hurt.
Get the extremerate rise paddles, I installed it on my dualsense pretty easily.

That definition is right, but there are two issues with how you used it: 1) when you have real distributions that are extremely granular, you can have modes that end up in weird places. Take a look at an image like this one: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Efficient-removal-of-impulse-noise-from-digital-Luo/7fc9be0683b6ace89323762888b3b4abfec11eaa/figure/0 the mode is either zero or 250, even though most of the probability distribution is in between. 2) you kept referring to the "majority of players", but then also mentioning the mode. The median is what determines the majority, because it's the middle number, i e. the number where 50% of players are above and 50% are below.
Samsung T7 SSD. I only needed the 500g because I only played apex multiplayer on the xbox before I got my PC. But if you play a lot of fast action FPS games get a 1tb to hold all your fast action games.
Aceu/iitzTimmy isn't 80% though, pretty sure thumbnail is bait too, since he was talking about the whole mnk community, not just the pros.
Imagine your typical bronze-plat players, of which happen to make up about 90% of the players, leaving Diamond-Pred in the last ~10%
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/legacy-ranked (Ranked distribution)
How often would you think Snip3down to win a 1v1 with the average bronze-plat player?
The official explanation clearly says:
"<em>...no AP for kills. Everything comes down to getting the win...</em>"
...but AP & MMR are separate. The official explanation says:
["we can quickly adjust your MMR up or down based on your performance"], but what is "performance?" It says "everything comes down to getting the win," so is winning the only performance factor affecting MMR?
Nothing in the official explanation mentions anything about doing higher damage, getting more kills, or having fewer deaths affecting AP or MMR.
I really wish Respawn would clear this up for everybody soon.
This is the only official description/explanation I've seen., but it sure does not seem to be working as described for me.
I was in a party with a buddy who is in a higher tier than me, and he was getting more AP for our wins than I got, which makes no sense...
If our opponents were closer to my lower tier/MMR, then shouldn't my higher-tier teammate have received less AP for stomping lower-tier opposition?
If our opponents were closer to my teammate's higher tier/MMR, then shouldn't I have received more AP for defeating higher-tier opposition?
I was usually getting +13 AP for wins & -13 AP for losses.
More recently, I've been getting +12 AP for wins & -20 AP for losses.
Each tier requires 1,600 AP to rank up.
At +12 AP per win, it would take 134 wins with zero losses just to rank up one tier.
When hit by -13 AP or worse for some losses, it would take an eternity.
At this rate, it's mathematically impossible to progress within a 90-day season (except maybe for a few elite slayers who play together 14+ hours-a-day 7-days-a-week).
I really hope they re-work the ranked arenas points system very soon.
Has anybody seen any official sources saying Ranked Arenas Points will be rebalanced?
If so, would you please share a link to that quote/announcement? Thanks.
> LevelHeadedNote : ...the higher your win rate the more points you get...
I don't see this stated in the official Ranked Arenas announcement.
Is there some other official source that says AP rewards are higher per match for players with higher win-rates?
The official explanation for how Ranked Arenas Points are supposed to work:
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/arenas-ranked

Was in the patch notes for mid S7 changes along with Pathfinder town takeover.
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/season-7-fightnight-collection-event
It was changed to only 1 pylon at the beginning of s5 but was changed again at the Lost Treasures patch. She can now have 3 pylons out at the same time: https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/lost-treasures-patch-notes
Objectively, it is second strongest gun in the game after the havoc in my experience.
It’s incredibly oppressive at mid range and allows people to rack up easy damage.
It’s just you...
Also it wasn’t nerfed, see patch notes: https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/news/season-5-patch-notes
Rewards are given at the end of the season based on your highest rank achieved across both splits. Dive trails will remain for the entirety of season 5 and then go away and be replaced by the dive trail(if any) earned from season 5.

There is no "fast way", you're gonna need to max time alive and placement. Battle pass is only for loot but you'll get loot boxes as rewards. In short, you need to win, there is no farming, only grinding.
Levels award lootboxes, you can read more here.

I’ve heard good things about the power A wired Xbox controllers. They have ones with paddles that’s are affordable
Disclaimer, I don’t have one of these myself, I’ve just heard good things from other people. I currently use an elite series 2 when I play on console but I would not recommend them due to the price and quality control. My RB doesn’t work at all and I have terrible stick drift

For me I had a 1.6 KD on console then switched to pc and now have a 2 KD i really like mouse and keyboard. My advice is to warm up ur aim on another game. I play krunker.io than go to apex and kick some ass
Using reWASD to remap your controller to keyboard/mouse and get aim assist has been an exploit since day one. From what I understand Respawn doesn't consider it an exploit because aim assist is built into the game for controllers?
But using reWASD or https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro/releases should be safe to use afaik. I see players using the exploit daily. There have been no bans or even mention of the exploit from respawn afaik.
So if the OP wants to be the 'Josh Futturman' of Apex, shouldn't be an issue.
Super proud of this thumbnail. I think it's my best yet, but every single one I've done (and plan to do in the future) is actually done on Canva.com
I use the pro version of Canva, but that's only so that I can access the background remover tool. All of my thumbnails can be made without needing Canva pro, and it's a free service otherwise.
The animations in between takes were also done for free on Canva, you can make short videos and just alter the assets as you see fit.
When you go on Canva, they have YouTube thumbnail templates that you can toy around with. They even save it in the proper 1280 x 720 resolution.
(By the way, I'm not affiliated with them or sponsored or anything, I just love their tool. I'm no graphic designer, but I also made my channel logo and banner on there as well.)
I recommend picking up one of these:

Have you seen this bonkers thing? works really well with switch motion controls and looks fun as hell to use.
nowadays you can get a 1080p60fps hdmi capture card for super cheap nowadays off amazon.
the one i linked to is actually expensive at 17 dollars since it does 60fps. you can get one for 8 dollars that does 30fps(but don't unless money is super tight coz you can still use teh 60fps one in the future). i use the 60fps one.
so output your xbox to your laptop with the stick and then record on your laptop with obs. recording can be done on a really old laptop too

Here's my app which ranks #1 on Play store, and I parse the Apex VPK's to get the data directly. I don't self promote since it already has a lost of users, but the maps section has locations of all the supply bins and everything that you'd need. There's other stuff too like instant News about patch notes, or Tips and I'm also open sourcing the app soon. I would help you with the VPK parsing, but it has taken me like around 100 hours to automate everything and it's not a simple process. Check out if you're interested and add the missing locations if you wish to on your site. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apex.legendscompanion
Website has options on top right corner where you'll be able to select the map, and will be able to choose what data you want to view (lootbins, jumptowers, etc).
There are no ads on website since I use this website in companion app that I've created for Apex. I'll be open sourcing the app soon, so if you want to support the app, check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apex.legendscompanion
It's pretty huge app, and it has everything you'd ever need related to Apex. I'm completely revamping the app in next update. Currently it has Wallpapers, Apex Packs calculator, News (through notifications), Tips, Stats tracker and other stuff. Pretty huge on Google Play Store, and I don't need to advertise, but hopefully it helps someone here.
Please don't abuse the website bandwidth since there's fair usage guidelines for hosting provider I use so they'll kick me if someone abuses the data. :)
This is great. I don't doubt that turning off your second monitor helped. Every Windows 10 version before version 2004 has had an issue with conflicting refreshrates. As in, if your main monitor is 144hz and secondary is 60Hz, they will mismatch and cause issues in games and with video content. After ver 2004 it's been resolved and you should have less issues with two or more monitors.
That being said, giving your PC less monitors to take care of means more power for games, so it's still better to have 1 monitor for your gaming PC for the "ultimate performance".
I wonder if the microstutters above 190 is caused by a secondary monitor or if it's just a point where the game engine breaks. I'll check it out for when I receive my 3080 graphics card and maybe make another post about that specifically.
TSAA does unfortunately bring some visual blur as it smooths out the frames and that adds a frame or so of input lag. Personally I'm very excited for the 3080 cards as they'll enable us to hit 190-240 fps in native 1440p without using the game's dynamic view scaler, and thus no TSAA.
My biggest suggestion to add onto your last tip there, update your drivers and search up some "max fps apex legends" guides on youtube. Most of the people I talk with about their PC settings in games like Apex I end up finding out they've got most their settings wrong, like having Triple Buffered V-Sync on and such, because they just don't know what they should put it at. One day we'll have a one-click solution to G-Sync and FPS in games, but atm update your drivers and make sure your PC is performing well.
That's just an overall good way of forcing normal v-sync in games that might have weird settings like forced triple buffered V-Sync.

In Apex's example, they use Adaptive V-Sync which will work better when your fps varies- which happens a lot in this game, so you want to use the ingame option instead.
The important part is that G-Sync or Freesync is activated while using Adaptive V-Sync, that will mean as long as your fps is under the refreshrate cap, your game will use G-Sync or Freesync. Adaptive 1/2 and Triple Buffered V-Sync causes issues in Apex.
The point of this subreddit is to discuss things. You suggested a method for keeping sweat off your controller and the rest of us are discussing pros, cons, and other alternatives. There is no need to be defensive or offended by that fact that other people don’t see the same added value in playing with gloves on.
It seems like you are the type of person who can’t accept when they are wrong and immediately turn to attacking other people when they disagree, I.e. calling us flat earthers, anti-maskers, etc. And to be honest, it comes off as childish and insecure. I’m going to assume that you’re so salty because you keep your sweaty ass palms in those gloves, unable to breathe.
However, since you seem to think you need some industrial, hyper powered fan system that would require an 18 wheeler to move...a small fan like this would easily meet your travel gaming needs. You could clip it to the desk, the monitor, or the chair you are sitting in to keep airflow on them. Or with a little more searching, you could find one that is better suited to your needs

If you're interested in a paddled controller but you don't want to shell out big bucks for a scuff, I bought this one off Amazon for less than $40 and noticed a huge difference in my gameplay. It comes with 2 paddles (I use them for B and X - crouch and item selection). It takes a few days to get used to but it makes looting much easier and helps with your strafe and slide attacks. It also has other optional settings like "aim assist" which isn't perfect but does help. Hope this helps, and good luck!
