Honey, you need to get a safe of some sort if you plan on taking the pill still. Amazon has all kinds.

Get all your legal documents: birth certificate, SS card, passport, diplomas/certifications, transcripts, any medical records, including insurance if you're still on your parent's insurance, and put them in there so she can't withhold them from you at any time.

Or a safety deposit box might be better, since I guess a safe can be moved.

You'll need to get real creative as to where you hide stuff.

It's called Demon's Plague. It's a zombie apocalypse book, but unlike every other one it takes place in a semi-realistic version of Medieval England instead of a modern / military setting. When I say "Semi-Realistic," it means a low-fantasy world where the cities and characters are fictional, but the weapons, places, and technology are authentic or at least plausible within the setting. No magic, dragons, or other fantasy creatures. The zombies are heavily inspired by Max Brooks, no runners. I also did my best to avoid common tropes for the genre. I say invest in 2 things: a door wedge and an AddALock device.

If your door has a good latch bolt on it, you don't have to invest in a whole lock. I've discovered an invention called an AddaLock that just fits right in the little slither between the door and door frame. When it's locked in place, it keeps the door from ever opening, regardless of how hard you try to open it. Of course, it's only as strong as the door's wood.

The old german tales pretty much always end with a kid being killed. They didn't fuck around back then. Do you have your own room? If so, consider setting up a mini-fridge, table and a if possible small microwave in your room and explore food you would enjoy eating that you can make in your room. Do it, don't tell anyone until after it's done, and make digital / scanned copies of all relevant documents (medical paperwork such as invoices, receipts, or bills for the procedure, signed notes from all medical personnel directly involved, etc.) for your own records, like that guy in the classic Craigslist copypasta story did. Even if the story itself might not be true, and even if you never face a paternity suit in future, it's good to have records.

We went to Easter Island for our honeymoon and came across a sushi restaurant called Kotaro. It was one of the best meals we had on the island, but the sign outside the restaurant cemented it as the most memorable. And we had just spent the day hiking so we were looking to relax.

Okay I am a working mother in the US, so I can comment, and no there is not a "shit ton" of tax breaks. (from google) The Child Tax Credit is $1,000 per qualifying child. A child must be your dependent and under age 17. The amount of the credit is reduced starting when your adjusted gross income reaches IRS limits. For 2012, the limit for married couples filing jointly was $110,000. There is also a shortage of affordable childcare.

You may have worked in places that gave parents extra benefits but that is far from the norm and I have been working for over 20 years, as has my husband and neither of us have ever worked in a place that offers childcare nor have any of my friends. The state run agencies are often as full or with long waiting lists that they are unattainable if you are needed to go back to work, which is usually within 12 weeks in the US. Add on top of that the culture that women are the main childcare providers, which adds a whole other can of worms.

I also bulk buy these tests once a year and take one every month-ish. They're super cheap and just as effective as the $10 ones. Also, none of the in person awkwardness.

Some crying kid ruined my sister's acceptance into an honor society, but they stopped after 5 minutes. Why? She was wearing fancy white shoes kinda like these ones, and the buckle was irritating her skin.

You can turn off the customised search in Google. Though, it will still track you. So, if you want Google without tracking use StartPage. I love DDG but it's just Bing without tracking running on AWS. While DDG won't track you, Amazon might.

Now, the ideal option would be an open source search engine that doesn't track you and runs on its own hardware. That's where findx comes in. However, it's not as good as Google/StartPage or Bing/DuckDuckGo. Though, it is still in beta do that's understandable (remember how bad Bing used to be?). The more use findx gets, the faster it will improve.

I love the Velcro ones because they're easy, comfy, and can be adjusted for ankles or wrists. Neither of these are exactly what I meant, as mine are Velcro with a buckle between them that can be squeezed with one hand to release it.

Edit mine also have a cloth strap between the cuffs which is great for tying the cuffs to the bed or whatever. I would do some searching if you're looking to buy something like this. ��

Have you heard of Marie Kondo or her KonMarie method? I read her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and it helped me a lot with de-cluttering my home and keeping it that way. We've been renting this awesome house from a friend of mine for the past year and the entire time we've been talking about buying it.

It's in an up-and-coming neighborhood that's about a five minute bike ride from downtown of the major city we live in. It's literally two minutes from my husband's work. It's a 100+ year old house, which I LOVE because of the character and personality. Original hardwood floors throughout the downstairs that are thin planks (which I understand is rarer?) and it was remodeled like ten years ago in a way that is super awesome. TWO bathrooms! Yes, two! In an old house!! There's actually closets! That are big! And the kitchen is YUGE with an eat in area that has TWO SKYLIGHTS and we painted it the puurrfect shade of forest green with white ceilings and trim. And it's a gas stove, which I adore. Did I mention the fenced backyard with a big garden and two mature trees, one of which is a weeping willow? Oh, and the built in window seat in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Oh, and the mature raspberry bushes out front?

I adore this house. It's so fucking perfect. So we got it inspected to start the process of purchasing it.

Guys, it's a disaster. There's extensive termite damage underneath the house. There's high radon levels. It needs a new roof, new furnace, new water heater, new windows, new siding or a completely strip job to get rid of the lead paint covering the entire outside. The crawl space has to be dug out. They'd have to rip out all of the original hardwood floors downstairs to do that (my heeeaaaarrrrrttttt). The inspector said that he wouldn't even pay 30K for the house and that even if we got it that low, that we'd have to spend so much money to fix it that it might not ever increase in value enough to cover what we spent.

Illinois, unlike Missouri, doesn't require parental consent, they only require that your parent is called 48hrs in advance. Clearly obtaining an abortion closer to home is preferable, but if it comes to something like this, know that all you need to fly domestically is a driver's license and that if you have a morning flight you can check into the airport the night before and not have to get a hotel room.

Well, there would have to be a strategy to build your case:

• Call the police any time she says she's left the child with a stranger.
• Take the child to a doctor and get his/her medical assessment of the rashes. Take good quality photos of the rashes.
• For that matter, get a medical assessment of the child's overall health--weight, development, etc.
• Get copies of any and all police reports from where she's been arrested or involved in "accidents".
• Document, document, document any time they directly witness her neglect and/or abuse her child.

An attorney can tell them more what to do, but usually reporting the incidents as they happen is ineffective. Unfortunately, in some parts of the country CPS is so overwhelmed dealing with terrible parenting that you have to let the neglect/abuse go on for a while before CPS will take action.
