All this hype and mystery about Jiren's wish makes it seem like he'll be the one to win the SDBs. One interesting difference: in the anime, it says the "best" warrior will get the wish; in the manga it says the "strongest". I'm not sure what the Japanese says in the manga, but in the anime, it's 最優秀.
Take this with a grain of salt until a credible source confirms. Edit: Done!
It's very early for V-Jump leaks, and ShonenGamez aren't exactly well-known for their great translation work.
That's a great in-universe explanation. Unfortunately Toriyama wasn't as creative, deciding on Goten's name by replacing the character for Sky (空) in Goku's name with Heaven (天) simply because it seemed more grandiose:
>"The characters have the meaning of 'Understanding the Heavens', which is on an even bigger scale than 'Gokū' ['Understanding the Sky' and various other interpretations]." [DBF p.158]
What type of pens do you use to draw on these permantly?
EDIT: I've just searched online and it appears that these are the pens:

Actually, it means "to perceive," or "to become enlightened." http://jisho.org/search/悟%20%23kanji
However, in this case, it's just a reference to Goku himself.
Also, both characters are "one letter." 亀 and 悟 are both single characters.
Hey sweet figure but just a heads up, it’s 49.19 on amazon for me:
CONFIRMED! Airing each Saturday after DBS on Toonami :O
All is right in the world for me now.
Haha, that honor goes to Yamcha! Krillin is over on the left.
Originally used skin colors to make his head more obvious, but quickly realized skin colored bottles look a bit... off.
You're going to make me choose just one??
Can't really decide, but I love this Goku in Journey to the West clothes.
Also, all the boys with guns working for S.C.P.D is one of my fav's.
Apologies for bad scanning.
Fukkatsu means both revival and resurrection.
Revival of "F" is a literal translation of 復活の「F」
When Funimation announced that they had acquired the film, they debuted their title for the movie, Resurrection 'F', dropping the "of" for some strange reason. Presumably to make it sound cooler, or simply because they wanted to come up with their own title rather than use the one provided by the Internet.
In Dragon Ball, Gohan mentions that he enjoys the afterlife and doesn't need to be wished back.
>Don't you worry about me. I've taken quite a liking to the afterlife! Plus, there are plenty of pichi-pichi girls there too!
Not really. According to Brittanica, his name (part of a much longer full name) means "The Very Lonely One", or "The One Set Apart" in Hawaiian. The Kamehameha (かめはめ[波](#fg "は")) in Dragon Ball was named after the Hawaiian king (a suggestion by Toriyama's wife), because it happens to sound like the Japanese words [亀](#fg "かめ")/kame (turtle), [破滅](#fg "はめつ")/hametsu (devastation), and [波](#fg "は") wave.

King Kai. That's a weird half-translation of Kai'ō. The ō part is a suffix meaning "king", and the "kai" part means world(s), so VIZ uses either "Kaiô-sama" or "Lord of Worlds". So, that particular dubism is a trigger for hardcore types like Herms and you'll probably never see them use it.
$40 seems to be about the mid-range price on Amazon for "Season 1" of Kai these days. Seems like it's been about $35 lately.
But anyway...!
The main point of Dragon Ball Kai was to keep the pacing closer to the manga, yes, which means a reduced episode count due to the remover of (primarily) filler material. Along with that came a host of other things, such as:
FUNimation's Blu-ray remaster of Dragon Ball Z has its own host of issues/features/problems/benefits:
For someone like me watching in Japanese, all the stuff exclusive to FUNimation's English dub becomes irrelevant, so it saves a ton of headaches. On the flipside, you're still stuck with whatever decisions FUNimation made on their own when it comes to products they create in-house.
You pretty much have to ask yourself: what do I want? do I want it right now? how much am I willing to pay? what are the pros/cons of each product?
Basically, with Dragon Ball... you can't win. There's nothing perfect that pleases everyone. Sadly, I can't just say, "Oh yeah, just buy this one thing here and you're done!"
Here you go. It's up to date as of ~1 month ago.
Edit: Here's a fully up-to-date one. I'll script it to run at the first of the month and keep the sidebar up to date in the future.
I think he was trying to be subtle the first time he changed it but he underestimated the hype that would ensue. I wouldn't be surprised to see the announcement happen at AnimeExpo:
>Funimation Industry | Sunday, July 3rd | 11:45am – 1:45pm | Panel Location: LP1/Petree Hall From Akira to Dragon Ball Z, hear the latest news, info, and announcements from North America’s largest anime distributor—Funimation. In this special Industry Panel, we’ll be having guests from the cast of My Hero Academia! And who knows, we may have even more special appearances through the panel… Live tweet with us using the hashtag #FunimationPanel for a chance to win prizes!
Sabat is an official guest. Another option is ComicCon at the end of next month. I dunno how it goes with anime, but from my knowledge of other fandoms, big announcements like this are usually made at cons that are more close to home. Super is an anime, so AnimeExpo would make more sense. I wouldn't have expected an announcement that soon, but it is starting to look likely.
PS: It's not just Sabat's sudden changes to his status (however vague). It's also the mysterious Viz posting of chapter 1 of the manga on their website, unaccompanied by any announcement (secretive). It's also the announcement of the Portuguese dub a few days ago (same studio that had it before, from what I understand). This is getting close, or things like this wouldn't be happening.
They're up on my shop! They're kinda on the small side (7x10 inches), but any bigger and you wouldn't be able to fool people into thinking they're actual comics instead of mini posters! Currently have them at a discounted price if you buy all 3 together: https://gumroad.com/l/dbzretro_trio#
The fight scenes are top notch. Just the animation + music makes OPM a good watch. The story, comedy, and other stuff is good too but that's awfully subjective and I don't know what your into.
You make an account and watch it in 1080p for free here: http://www.daisuki.net/us/en/anime/detail.ONEPUNCHMAN.html
I have a nico robin that changes her shirt color with water, which was what I expected from this one. Its still cool looking none the less.
They're mistaken; it's ten percent. The spanish group is a speedsub group that relies on Google Translate.
The English speedsubs are Google Translated versions of the Spanish sub, so they usually have the same mistakes (and a few additional ones). But yeah, ichi-wari is ten percent.
But that's the thing. While "ken" (拳) does literally mean "fist" when it's alone, it's used extensively in martial art technique names. For example, "crane style" kung fu is written 白鶴拳. It'd be weird to translate a school of martial arts as "white crane fist," how it's literally written. With the exception of really bad kung fu movie dubbings, translators generally use "style" or "school." I mean, bear in mind that the "kai" 界 in "king kai" itself can be shorthand for "world" (it can also mean a biological kingdom, a particular geologic stratum, or a partition of land.. Japanese is hard). So if you want to be pedantic, it should really be "world king fist."
To me, the best translation is "king kai's technique," but that would sound really awkward shouted as Goku is powering up, so I'm always happiest when they just leave it untranslated. It's a proper noun, after all, and it's not like we translate "goku" in to "awakened to emptiness" (the literal translation of the characters of his name, which is a direct reference/the Japanese reading of sun wukong from journey to the west) or "gohan" to "rice."
And under it all, to my recollection there is no situation in english-speaking culture where it is cool to shout out what you're doing as you do it, and so there's really no translation that will not sound awkward and weird to an english-speaking viewer. I think this is true for pretty much all attack/technique names in the show.
There are lots of English loanwords in Japanese. They seem "butchered" because Japanese uses a syllabary. For example, the English word "Trunks" is written as トランクス/to·ra·n·ku·su, but means the same thing. Whiskey is written as ウイスキー/u·i·su·ki·i, which is where Whis' name, ウイス/u·i·su, comes from.
Not all names are "English", however. Kuririn's name comes from 栗/kuri, meaning chestnut, and also くりくり/kuri-kuri, meaning big and round (referring to his head).
Back in April, a listing for the original TV series popped up on Amazon indicating a possible streaming agreement. That hasn't turned into anything, unfortunately.
The TV series is good, but the manga is where it's at. It's Toriyama through-and-through with absolute perfection. The timing and layout just can't be matched by the TV series (which I do like!). The whole manga is available from Viz both in print and digitally, so check it out.
As has been mentioned, the first five movies were released by Discotek a couple years back. A certain Dragon Ball website you may have heard of helped clean up the subtitle translations for that release, so it'd be super awesome for folks to show some support all around for everyone involved in testing out that release and potentially showing some interest in future volumes!
Assuming you're in North America, there's really only one line of DVDs in print for the first Dragon Ball TV series: the five blue season bricks. These were released from 2009-2010. That's all there is right now, and they are readily available on sites like RightStuf and Amazon. There is no word on any future re-release of the series, remastered/HD or otherwise.
If you are exclusively watching the franchise in English and are for some reason or another incapable of being convinced otherwise, please watch the Kai version of the Dragon Ball Z portion for something resembling an accurate script and atmosphere.
Real talk: entire franchise, Japanese with English subtitles, beginning to end, no items, Final Destination.
The irony here is that May 9th has been officially recognized as Goku day in Japan according to ANN
From the announcement:
>The English dub of the new film will be released in theaters across North America in Summer 2015.
I believe this is the extent of what we know. Judging by the tone, it sounds like it's going to be quite a bit more widespread this time around. For what it's worth, we've recently learned that in addition to the US and Japan, it will release in 74 countries.
Yeah, I noticed Amazon had the episodes up earlier this week. They have 109 and 110 separate. I'm guessing the special version would be on the blu ray. I presume this will be out early October.
Awesome cover though! I assume 17 will be Part 10 then? Could be Goku again, but I like how each cover features a different character, and would love to see that continue.
No, it's just the film's script and some extra tidbits here and there. Only 1,500,000 are being printed for the release in Japan.
Looks like the artist is "Katsutake". I can't find this image on his pixiv page, but the rest look to be the same style.

It's just the Japanese word for shell: 殻.

Nice work for being that young. Flash wasn't very user friendly in the past either.
Just to share, here is the dbz flash video that I always and still periodically go back and watch on newgrounds cause of how good it is.
The actual shirts look great, but the "just saiyan" pun (overdone) and the "over 9000 abuse" (really overdone) make me wary about dropping $70 on one.
Well thanks to their patreon TFS has hired three new people and will be moving together to produce together.
I'd say once the move is over and done with and everything is settled down we'll either be seeing a huge increase in production quality somehow, or the three-week wait will become normal.
Guys I'm really fucking excited for the future of DBZ Abridged now.

It's been announced for a little bit now. Blu-ray/DVD coming your way soon.
FUNimation's North American release comes out October 7th, while Manga UK's version comes out November 10th. They include the original theatrical cut of the film as well as the extended edition aired on Fuji TV earlier this year, both with their original Japanese language track along with FUNimation's English dub.
While God/Kami isn't all-powerful, all-knowing and all-seeing like the Christian God, in Dragon Ball, "Kami-sama" as he's addressed is literally God with a capital G. He is the man people pray to, and he watches over the world. This is even joked about in both the manga and the anime. Calling him Kami is censorship, no different than Hercule, and masks what his character was intended to be.
Curious about "Vegeta’s Furious Mutation".
I know that 突然

Hey there,
The song that you are wanting to find is titled "Time Chamber". You can find the song in the album that Bruce Faulconer produced. The Amazon MP3 link is here. Specifically, the album is titled Dragonball Z, Trunks Compendium 1
I've included a SoundCloud link of the following song:
Amazon Japan and CDJapan both ship internationally.
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B075SPNTHS http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/COZC-1387
The CD+DVD version shipped to me from Amazon Japan via DHL Express International was ~$20 total.
You should try WCF (World Collectable Figures) there are some fairly cheap on Amazon and there are a bunch of different kinds of goku in SS Blue.
According to ANN:
>Back in late 1999, a few parents bought Dragon Ball comics for their children at a major chain store and objected to some of the slightly sexual humor in the first issues. They complained to the management, a few news stories were written about it... and presto, Dragon Ball comics ceased being distributed outside of comics stores. ... The upshot of this was some tough decisions, in which getting Dragon Ball into a wide audience was balanced against keeping it true to the original.
Basically, a few moms complained, and rather than mark Dragon Ball for ages 13+, they censored it so they could leave it as "All Ages".
This made a lot more sense back in 2000, where Dragon Ball was huge and they wanted to sell as many copies as possible. I get it, and I'd have done the same thing in their situation.
That said, it's not 2000 anymore. In 2013, they decided to release the brand new full color manga. This was their golden opportunity to make up for the past ~15 years and release the definitive English edition of Dragon Ball, fully retranslated, uncensored and in color. Instead, they shafted us by starting with Z, getting three volumes in, and stopping.
It's from Fukkatsu no F or Resurrection F as it'll be known in English. It's not in English yet, but FUNimation announced plans to release the dubbed version over the upcoming Summer. Here's the trailer!
>I think Kami was simply the Earth's Protector, not really a god
While God isn't all-powerful, all-knowing and all-seeing like the Christian God, in Dragon Ball, "Kami-sama" as he's addressed is literally "God" with a capital G. He is the man people pray to, and he watches over the world. This is even joked about in both the manga and the anime.
If you really want one of these, just order it off of Aliexpress instead of that site. This isn't officially licensed merchandise (if that is an issue for you). The site OP bought from is one of numerous sites that purchases items being sold off of Aliexpress and sells them on their own website at a huge markup. Don't support this practice and just buy direct from the people making it and save a ton of money. It's appalling how their "original" price is $104 and you can get it for less than 25% of the price.
And yes, if you buy it off of Aliexpress it will be the exact same as the one OP bought.
If you're in the United States, Fandango would be a good option. Right now they are for sale in some areas. It also shows you some theaters that are airing it in your area too. You could also just go to the theater on release night and just purchase the tickets there.
> Are they out yet and are they going to be out of stock really quickly?
The tickets are out in other countries, but not in the United States which I presume where you are located. I doubt they'll be out of stock, but it will definitely be packed for the first three days when the movie is out.
Edit: /u/TyroKith brought up a good point about living in larger cities. I'd suggest purchasing your tickets ahead of time. So just stick around. Someone will likely repost on this subreddit when the tickets will be available for purchase. News networks will probably be talking about it too, as it will be a pretty big summer release.
Edit 2: /u/49ersGifGuy mentioned that some select cities are selling these tickets. Cities like Los Angeles appear to be selling tickets. Consider checking up on your city to see if they're available right now.
think it's Blizzard by Daichi Miura? it's not on public youtube, no way of accessing the song other than purchasing atm
The Aho TV crew (that we end up seeing in the Saiyan arc) is filler, as are most instances of the ZTV crew (though they were there).
While God isn't all-powerful, all-knowing and all-seeing like the Christian God, in Dragon Ball, "Kami-sama" as he's addressed is literally God with a capital G. He is the man people pray to, and he watches over the world. This is even joked about in both the manga and the anime. Just want to say that very few Xbox games run at 60 FPS. Here is a list of games that run at 60 FPS, but some users say that a decent amount of those don't run at 60 FPS. So for the 360 to be around for almost a decade and have less than 20 games that run at 60 FPS, I would not say most good Xbox games run at 60 FPS. That's not even close to being correct.
It appear that you are correct according to this article and this blog. At the very least, the seiyuu in the article did mention that the Japanese cast is shown the animation first and given a few days to practice before recording. I'm sure a bit of last minute extra editing is done to get everything in-sync at the end.
There was a paperback rpg game I use to play back in the day that released books per saga and their multiplier for ssj was 2.5 as well. There was also a stipulation that a saiyan had to be above 5,000,000 to be eligible to transform. Those power levels seem fairly accurate up until the frieza fight. From the book friezas final form was
1%: 3,000,000
50%: 6,000,000
100% 12,000,000
Goku was at 300,000 but utilized the kaioken without damaging his body so
x10 -3,000,000
x20- 6,000,000
Ssj - 15,000,000
It was assumed that gokus body retain his power level while enraged so after the fight hits new power level normally was at 6,000,000. I've made my own power level sheet a long time ago, when I get to work I'll paste it here
Edit: Anyone curious, here are some PowerLevel estimations I made about 10 years ago. I need to make some adjustments because Gohan and Krillin's look to low during the Frieza saga. First time sharing Google Docs
This is sad news, but I can picture Ōtsuka jumping on a pillar and riding it up to heaven.

Ōtsuka, you'll always be The World's Greatest Assassin to me.
Very rarely would I trust a Chinese seller. Maybe if an item came from Hong Kong and the seller had high ratings and was using a trusted online venue to sell.
Basically, I would never purchase anything off this page. Alibaba/express is notorious for selling bootlegs out of China.

Along similar lines: President for a Day
Bulma is out sick, so Vegeta has to be president of Capsule Corp for a day and navigate some corporate negotiations.
There's some "HD footage" of the first four Dragon Ball Movies on Funimation.com. We've had a discussion long ago about this. They're either rescans or Funimation "slapped" some of their filtering and called it HD. The quality of these movies are similar to the Orange Brick set. You'll encounter some issues with the frame-rate dropping, the blacks looking really bad, and over contrasting.
> ###Why was my card charged a second time for a pre-ordered item?
> "Your card is actually only being charged once. When you purchase a pre-order from the FUNimation Shop, your card will be pre-authorized, which means that it will appear as if you have been charged for the title. The pre-authorization should drop off of your card a few days after you have sent in your pre-order. The timing of this depends on your financial institution. The full purchase amount of the pre-order will not actually be processed and charged to your card until your pre-order has been shipped."
We can't say with certainty yet; we'll know when the rest of their lineup is revealed.
Even if they manage a simulcast, we'll almost certainly be getting a subtitled release, with a dub months away.
>In this Over8000 sub, Shenron says that he was upgraded. So eternal dragons work like computers now?!
I guess you could think of it that way. The original word means improvement/update/upgrade/overhaul.
About the Blu Rays, they've been discontinued:
Flower Mound, TX – January 26, 2012- FUNimation Entertainment, has officially confirmed they have suspended production of all future planned Blu-ray releases of Dragon Ball Z including Level 2.1 scheduled to be released on March 27, 2012.
Blu-ray editions of Dragon Ball Z went into production based on fan demand, however due to technical challenges of restoring from the original film frame by frame, we are unable to continue these releases by way of this process. FUNimation will be re-evaluating the current process and researching more efficient methods of restoration.

You know that Jaco first appeared in his own Jaco the Galactic Patrolman manga before he showed up in Resurrection F and Super, right? I strongly suggest reading it sometime. You can get the entire one-volume story for well under $10 on Amazon.
According to this website, it looks like they're being released in August
Also has an Amazon page, says currently unavailable, with no reviews or questions asked which probably means it's a recently created page.
Amazon is getting an exclusive bundle of Dragon Ball Z "seasons" 1-9 of the latest Blu-ray release, and it's due out next month.
For Kai, I'd expect a complete "season" set of the Buu arc (collecting the three "Part" sets, which themselves only just wrapped up a few months back) first, eventually much later down the road followed by perhaps a "complete" pack.
Got it off amazon. It’s the Corsair mm800 and yes it does really light up and it’s customizable lol. Here is a link to it.

I google searched Dragon Ball color Manga Italian. It was on amazon.
Okay so I'm in Europe, and I got a pre-order in, I'm actually debating on canceling it but that's a different topic.
I used a vpn (NordVPN) to access the Funimation website, I'm pretty sure you can get a free trial for NordVPN. And I'm using ''Stackry'' as a shipment forwarder, they will receive my package and then send it to me at some additional cost.

Also beware that you need a credit card to pay on Funi's website.
Aight, I saw in the last thread that people might also want this on Android, so heres how to do it all from your phone.
Download AnimGIF live wallpaper
This lets you use any gif as a live wallpaper.
Now, for some reason, Imgur is super shitty and won't let you download gifs directly from their mobile site, you have to use their crummy app. Now on the last one, even using the app it wouldn't download as a gif, it downloaded as an mp4 video file.
You'll have to convert this to a gif, i used this website, EzGif.com.
Now that you have your gif ready, open AnimGIF, and set it as your live wallpaper. Then go into the settings/edit menu for it, and you should be able to select your gif there.
Actually, Japan recently declared that today is actually Goku day, because 5 is pronounced "go" and 9 can be pronouned "ku" and together they make Goku. So Goku is the main character forever.
>The staff of the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' film revealed at a first-day screening event at Shinjuku's Wald9 theater in Tokyo on Saturday that the film will screen in 74 countries worldwide.
>Funimation hosted the North American premiere of the film on April 11 in Los Angeles. The company plans to release the film in more theaters with an English dub this summer.
In this week's issue of Shonen Jump, there were pages devoted to the new form and the name, as given, was directly translated to "Super Saiya-jin God Super Saiya-jin".
This seems based specifically on what Goku described the form as in the new movie, saying:
超サイヤ人ゴッド のパワー を持つサイヤ人の超サイヤ人
"Super Saiya-jin with the power of Super Saiya-jin God"
Just look up her Patreon then take the €33,792 she earns every 2 weeks and multiply it by 26 and you get what she earns a year.
Which is exactly €878,592 annually.
Android 18 was a lot stronger then Frieza. I base power levels on a paperback game I use to play because it made the most logical sense. At the end of Frieza saga Vegeta was roughly 3,600,000 in terms of power level (estimation as always). It was assumed that to be eligible for ssj transformation you had to be at least over 5,000,000. Goku is unique in that his body gets stronger during a fight without recovering from his injuries; he just gets stronger and his rage essentially heals his body and retains any power he may have obtained. His rage doesn't do it all the time though, I'd say its pretty rare when it happens like that.
In any case Goku's power level right before his transformation was at 6,000,000 with a 2.5x multiplier made him at about 15,000,000; Frieza at form 4 (100%) is estimated at roughly 12,000,000. Now Vegeta trained his ass off to achieve ssj, but it still wasn't strong enough; regardless, ssj Vegeta would have beaten Frieza.
But everything is just kind of guestimating. I have some very good theories on power levels and multipliers which keep me happy and it also keeps my neurotic "must have correct data" in check. Here are Power Levels I've estimated back when I was like 15 and ridiculously into DBZ Doing a quick read through of my estimations I realize I should re-analyze Krillin and Gohan's PL's throughout the whole Frieza saga. Those seem a bit too low for my liking.
well, im no expert on the quality... comparing to a single volume of Naruto this paper is 'thinner'(?) than "common" manga quality... I would assume its made that way being a 3-in-1 to have the price lower than normal.... personally I think that its perfectly fine, because there is more in one book that it balances the quality over quantity.. also i here Barns n Noble are having some sort of pop-culture event, so im banking on them having a sale on the 19th. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/blog/july-19-manga-mania/
(also, also... if you want to save just a biiiit more, buying the physical books on there website saves you some money also, nearly 5$ savings each book)
Get him a scouter!
See my above answer. It remains true, even if you seem to think it's not.

Other than the fact that Anime News Network corrected their error when it was pointed out to them?
I suppose you could get a back-issue of the magazine and have someone else translate it, but that seems like a lot of work.
Anyhow, here is everything we know about the movie so far. Take anything else with a grain of salt.

Link to tranformed Bojack (imgur) Sorry about that, didn't notice this one failed to upload
I agree, and Barnes and Noble is having a deal for Viz manga, buy 2 get 1 free. I ended up getting all of the VizBig releases for DB (1-5) and DBZ (1-9) plus another free Viz manga book for around $160.
Edit:
It is not. The only streaming options now are Funimation (North America) and AnimeLab (Australia and New Zealand).
~~To be fare Battle of Gods didn't get a western theater release so not everyone knew about it.~~
Edit: My bad, seems it got a US and Canada release. It didn't get a UK release which is where I'm from so i just assumed it didn't get a US release because Resurrection F got a UK release.
> to avoid getting all the errors? Maybe a good Sub for dragon ball?
Subtitled is definitely the way to go if you want to avoid the embellishments and mistakes made in the English dub. You can watch it subtitled for free on the official website.
It's in Japanese theaters at the moment, with a US release planned for "this Summer". There's a full synopsis on Kanzenshuu.
If you subscribe to the funimation streaming service, you can watch everything on there. DB, Z, and GT as well as all of the movies (subbed or dubbed).
Hulu offers a heck of a lot of DB and good portions of DBZ as well.
Zeno (全王) is actually Zen'ō or Zen'ou. The ō/ou is a suffix meaning king; his name translates as King of All or Omni-King.
Zeno (ゼノ) is spelled in katakana in the manga. There's no emphasis on the "o" and it's basically a completely different word, much like "undo" and "undies" are completely different words. (Sorry, first example that came to mind.)
Like English, Japanese is awash in synonyms.
You'll notice from those links too that the kanji that reads "yo" on its own is also used for the "se" in "sekai."
It's also the "yo" present in "ano yo" (literally "that (other) world") that's used for Dragon Ball's afterlife, and as a euphemism for the afterlife in everyday speech. Ex. "Ano*yo*ichi Budokai," or "Number One in the Other World Tournament."
Ooh, these look nice! I like the shading. My only gripe is the last stroke in「飯」. It's too low.
(Will probably get downvoted b/c Reddit circlejerk but whatever)
If I may suggest something for writing kanji (and the correct stroke order to write them in--yes that does matter--so it looks nice/when you're writing quickly, people who read it get the gist of what you're writing) since you asked in an earlier post, try jisho.org. It's an online dictionary and its reaaaaally helpful, there's so much to learn there. Type in "hope", guarantee you'll get a word.
> It's just that it only stayed within that six months later part for the first part of the first episode
That isn't possible according episode 15:
>Goku: That ain't fair! You said I could the other day, didn't ya? Back when I got the 100 million zenny!
Chi-Chi: Hm? All that money's been used up already!
The term for "the other day" in this case being [こないだ](#fg "konaida"), which is imprecise but indicates a very short amount of time (and is often translated as "the other day". Based on this exchange, it couldn't have been all that long since the first episode, and certainly not the 4 years required to fit with the main timeline.
