If no one has said it yet- the 20 something dollar retrievers on Amazon are pretty fuckin amazing for any water area that's not covered in sticks/ trees Hive Disc Golf Accessories Disc Claw Retriever
Made these because all the explanations of disc golf physics online were 200+pages or something like that. Tried to make it as simple as possible. Cut out some mathematics, so if you are interested, just google "gyroscope physics" etc terms.
Feel free to make new / better versions. These were made with paint/gimp, as you can see.
If you have any questions, ask, google the stuff, or read the thesis I copied some of the graphs from:
I designed an app like this as a case study for my portfolio, but built it as a standalone app that would pull data from UDisc so it wouldn't clutter up the app itself.
Here's the prototype.
Or bring a metal back scratcher like this one https://www.amazon.com/Scratcher-Extendable-Backscrathers-Multi-Functional-Stainless/dp/B07WC4BDZ8. It'll rake them right off your clothes or even shoelaces.
This is the starter kit I started with. Those discs lasted my first season (20ish rounds). I just replaced the bag after 2 years, but as I rotated the original discs out/bought more, it was useful to have. That's one thing to consider.
Alternatively, if you want a more varied set of discs that can help you understand what kinds of plastics/stability you resonate with as a beginner:
The Aviar is Innova's base putter. It comes in a million plastics. DX is the base level plastic, but people tend to like that because it "beats in" to a worn state quickly and reliably. A good "second" purchase is a stack of putters for putting and form work.
The other 3 discs I suggested because they represent the 3 premium plastics innova has, and they are a stable mid, an understable fairway driver, and an overstable fairway driver. Those 4 should give you a beginner set of shots to work with and are good learning tools.
Any other major manufacturer's lineup or plastics can be used, just try to get each disc in different plastics and try for a stable mid, and an understable and overstable fairway driver in addition to a putter.
I'd personally get the innova DX starter pack, i still have a leopard in my bag
Absolutely do not get a DSLR, get a camcorder. Anything that has at least 12x Optical zoom (not digital), and shoots 1080/60p will work. I've had great luck with Sonys and Panasonics.
For support I really recommend this shoulder mount
I had tennis elbow bad from a combo of DG and climbing. Went to PT and this was the best tool ever to fix it.

Do this exercise.
You will get instant relief, but keep it up for a few weeks.
As a skeptic, I need to point out that this product uses tons of buzz and weasel words, common among products that are making unverifiable claims. Do your research before shelling out $15+shipping for what may be a $3 towel.
Unless they have made a revolutionary discovery in physics, they are using evaporative cooling, and any polyester/nylon blend towel would function like the EnduraCool. There isn't a special core creating a chemical reaction. That's why it works best when humidity is lower. Water absorbs heat really well, and against the skin, a wet towel or bandanna pulls off heat. The whole "snapped in the air to activate" claim just forces you to remove the towel from where you were wearing it and circulate air around the surface of the towel, pulling off excess heat. Of course it will feel cooler when you put it back on, but it is performing exactly the same as it was before, and it isn't unique to EnduraCool.
They also claim it "cools to 30 degrees below average body temperature". Note, they aren't comparing it to anything else. Not saying it cools more, or performs better than other products. Just saying that it cools. This is because this temp drop will occur anytime evaporative cooling takes place. It's not unique to their product. They are describing what a wet towel does.
Consumer Reports has an article comparing cooling towels. Their findings: wet towels absorb heat the same, even a kitchen towel.
tl;dr - There is always someone willing to take your money with seemingly amazing claims and celebrity endorsements. If you want to stay cool, keep hydrated, stay in the shade as much as possible, and use any wet light towel or bandanna for evaporative cooling. No need to drop $15 on it.
*edit - fixed spelling and a word.
Sometimes 3D printing isn't about saving money, its about the fun of designing something and bringing it to life in the comfort of your own home. I might try my hand at making one myself with a retractable reel just for the hell of it.
But yeah. This would do perfectly. 10M Tape with magnet @ Amazon
Definitely need to put one of these in my bag, lol
My wife was so excited to tell me she bought a new disc bag.
Personally I would spend a little bit more money for a set from a more established disc golf brand like Innova, Innova DX Disc Golf Set (3-Disc) (Colors may vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000Q838XW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fXopBbBHX4GJH. This set comes with three discs that are great for beginners, and I even bag a leopard after four years of playing!
I ship a ton of discs. 10~20 per week.
Print a label using paypal. Here is the link:
https://www.paypal.com/shipnow
To ship a single disc, select First Class Mail Parcel. A label for an 8 oz package will cost $2.71.
Put the disc in a gallon sandwich baggy (You can get 75 at Walmart for $3). Tape the bagged disc to a piece of cardboard to brace it against bending in the mail. Slide the braced disc into a bubble mailer. (I buy bubble mailers in bulk online; about 25 cents each, but you can get them at walmart for about 50 cents each, I believe).
Tape your shipping label on the bubble mailer. Write "PLEASE DO NOT BEND" on the bubble mailer a few times for good measure.
Total shipping cost comes out to about $3.00 per disc for me. Maybe a quarter more if you can't buy bubble mailers in bulk.
I would recommend a starter pack for each of you. I got the Innova Starter Pack and it is excellent for beginners. Depending on the arm strength/athleticism you probably will not even need the driver for the first while.

Most people here will recommend that you do not regularly the the driver discs until you have a better handle on the game as the drivers will hide/mask bad form and limit your game farther down the line.
I use Easy Scorecard on my Android while I'm on the course and then I transcribe my scores to discgolfscene.com when I get home.
Edit: added links
They have mobile apps for Android and iOS, and it allows you to record rounds and post reviews.. Here's a link to the Android version:

The Discraft one is definitely better than the Innova one and you can use pencils/erasers on it as well. I'm sure you can find them several places but I got mine on Amazon ($5.50 w/free shipping).
Download wallet software, publish the address. That's pretty much it as a short version. For bitcoin see here and doge here.
Also there are tipbots for both in reddit, you can transfer coins between the bot and your wallet. Let me put my coins where my mouth is:

You should get a PM from the bot soon with instructions. Once you have a wallet set up on your PC you can transfer the coins there
If you don't want to slash em, go with something like this, won't damage anything, but it will ruin their day.
Took out the two middle bars in the shelves to fit discs.
We made multiple "slight" modifications on the bottom feet so the discs on the bottom shelf didn't touch the floor. (We added some of the bars from the shelves to the bottom to make it taller)
About an hour of work. Here we are! We are nowhere even close to handymen, anyone with a drill can do this, and next time we'd make it in half the time!

I just realized the price went up to $35......I guess I got lucky with it on sale!
Made the wife happy too! No more boxes full of discs laying around. Until I mentioned I need to buy a second shelf because I'm already out of room on the first one....
Try bookmarking this link. It'll save you a couple of steps.
I'm an enabler.
Easy Scorecard Pro allows you to upload / download par and distance info from their website. None of my local courses were listed, but it took all of five minutes to look up the info and add it to their database. This app is used widely enough that in more populated areas the course info is probably already there.
This one gives all that and more. Just not name brand which I could care less about anyway. Highly recommend.
Great answer. I got mine on Amazon for 70. But make sure it's the right one. Most at this price range aren't great. But they do exist.

If you are not concerned about exact lines or making a Picasso on your disc, the hand foil " solder guns " on ebay or amazon are cheap and usually come with some foil samples to get started. This Heatwave one on Amazon is the one I got a few years back. It's pretty tricky because you are basically drawing blind over the foil . ZAM is pretty damn good at hand foiling, but it is tedious work. This one the inside stamp is a regular multi foil hot stamp and he added the fire.
As other have said, paracord with a carabiner on the end so you can attach it quickly. Also, maybe one of these to keep it tidy in his bag?
Almost have our new course in now. Here's how we went about it.
We went to the town board and asked them for permission to use one of their parks. They were ecstatic about the idea and even granted us a few thousand dollars to get us rolling.
We had a lot of donations. A LOT. Go to local businesses and tell them about it, and offer to put their name on a tee sign placard for 50-200 bucks. That got us a lot of money.
We went with the Arachnid 4 baskets (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Arachnid-Disc-Golf-Targets/196924463674134 ) for our course, as they are kind of close locally, so we saved a ton of money in shipping.
We hand built the tee pads in the woods out of block and railroad ties. They turned out great! The rest are concrete and we had about 90% of that donated.
The signs were 100% donated by a printing company. This saved us a goo gad of money.
The "problem" we ran in to, and still do, was putting it in. Lots of people want a new course, but very few people want to put in the work. Clearing brush, cutting trees, putting in pads, putting in signs and posts, putting in benches, etc...it's a shit ton of work.
Good luck and let us know when you get 'er done!
It was one of the things I cut out. You can see similar graphs at different angles of attack (etc) of the Magnus Effect on pages 144-145 of the thesis:
(That is also a better link for the file in the original message)
In those graphs, the magnus effect is represented by the Side Force & Side Force coefficient
The side force coefficient at different angles of attack & different spin rates * was quite small (even for the bulky frisbee used in the study), and it only causes a similar small shift to the side on every throw, so I left it out.
(*In the thesis graphs, there is no spin, but the aerodynamic term "advance ratio"= "rim speed"/ airspeed = ~spin/velocity, or AdvR=~ω/v)
I live 100m away from that courses 1st tee, and yeah, it's a very windy course. I have played around 60 rounds there this year (from end of June to beginning of August it's almost unplayable because it's protected meadow area and they cut it just once per year) and about 40 of them were very windy, usually I have to use Innova Pig or Prodiscus Premium Jokeri for putting, sometimes I have to putt with Z Predator.
This is me trying to putt with Predator on the same hole as in OP's link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eicktk35zfg5sy1/2012-09-05%2015.30.26.mp4

I have some recommendations from Franklin Sports for you, then.
If he likes putting with a Dynamic Discs Judge, you can pick up a 5-pack at a decent price: https://www.amazon.com/Dynamic-Discs-Judge-Putter-Frisbee/dp/B07VLBY4BG
If he uses a different putter, look for a pack of those.
One thing you could consider is a golf net. You can do a lot of specific form work with just a camera and a net set up on a bit of concrete/grass/asphalt somewhere, and it takes way less space.
This looks like it:

The hanger is a over cupboard grocery bag holder, I 3D printed the part that holds it to the cart.
i've owned both the axiom pro(had a red white and blue one) and a mach lite (red). the axiom pro is a better basket, period. the mach lite is a better trunk basket. it actually folds down like a camping chair (but taller). the axiom pro does break down but its much more work and takes up a lot more space. that said, in a hatchback, the mach lite might be too long to fit, and the axiom pro would be a better choice, though you lose a lot of space. if you want the black hole pro, absolutely buy the travel bag version here on amazon.
hope some of that helps.
I got myself the Mach lite and I really like it. I think it would suit your needs perfectly. Easy to move and has improved my putting game a good deal.
I bought foam discs for my kid from Amazon and they are awesome, we don't get hit by them when he practices indoors, saves our walls, and I can throw them at my couch full power while watching drills. Only one of them has ripped in half from hitting my handrail, the rest are in good shape and I've had them for a few months.

Easy to pull up the course you are playing, or input a custom round. Easy to score. Nothing fancy like the udisc distance measure or other bells and whistles - but I'm personally not interested in those features. DCGR is a simple app and very easy to use. Also, you can upload your rounds to the dcgr website to keep track of them, if you so wish (I do).
No more surprise or speculation. Apparently Paul McBeth's brother got to field test one a few weeks ago. Looks really, really close to the Magellan bag, maybe even licensed the design?
These last for years and years and make the statement: I'm here to drink beer and maybe throw some frisbees.

You can also get 40% pure Pyrethin from Amazon. Mix that down to 0.5% and you can soak your socks, etc... In it. Once it dries, you are good to wear.
Found an Arteza 50 pack on Amazon Prime sale for $20. HERE It lays and sticks well, but leaves a bit to much adhesive behind when I peel it. Still finding what I like best.
Buy the Innova Starter Pack. It's $20 on Amazon and you might be able to find it locally as well. If you want to support a local shop, I'd recommend going and getting a cheap baseline plastic putter (Judge, Aviar, Focus) and a straight flying midrange (Buzzz, Mako). You should be able to get these for around $8 or so each. That's all you really need for awhile.
Then watch this video to learn the basics of disc flight.
Then go to your course and have fun. Don't be discouraged if you suck for awhile. Just enjoy being outside and finding a new cheap hobby. Soon, you'll have a Grip bag, 40 discs, a practice basket at home, and no money.
My advice is to enjoy what you are doing. The results will follow.
I used to get so mad after my first missed shot because I knew I wasn't going to set some new personal record. What that did was make me dislike playing the rest of the round - all I could think about was how I fucked up and won't be able to beat some old score.
Focus on being "present" and Slow down.
I could ramble on and on about this, but someone has done a better job. Check out this book or audiobook ( I like the audio version, b/c I can play it on the way to the course ). If it's not feasible for you to buy it, DM me and I will send it to you for free via Audible.

I've been really trying to not pay attention to my score (especially in tournaments.) I think it has helped my game overall.
edit: As an aside, everyone that is serious about competitive disc golf and/or improving their game should read The Zen Golf: Mastering the Mental Game by Joseph Parent. Even though the book was written for ball golf, pretty much all of it translates to disc golf perfectly. It's like Sun Tzu's The Art of War for golf.
It's not super rare, but definitely worth something. Because the stamp is so worn, it's harder to value. Here is the eBay search page of similar discs. Yours is either a 10x or 11x, so probably around $25-$30. But discs don't always sell for what they're 'worth', depending on who sees the sale page.
For example, I bought a 11x KC Banshee a while ago for like $15, which is about half of it's real value. It just happened to slip through the cracks and I got a good deal.
don't buy one, make one. http://www.instructables.com/pages/search/search.jsp?cx=partner-pub-1783560022203827%3Anpr2q7v5m6t&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=sling+shot I find things I make myself so much more rewarding when it pays off.

Actually, in the state of Florida it is illegal to keep lost property. You must either return it to its original owner, or to the police, or be guilty of theft.
Here's a list of the laws by state: http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G2-3046200053.html
In most states the caveat is that you must "take reasonable measures to restore it to rightful owner who is known or reasonably ascertainable". Meaning if it has a name on the disc, if you call and leave a message, you've done your due diligence. If you keep the disc without calling, you are guilty of theft.
Now, obviously there is a debate as to the morality of this subject among disc golfers. I'm merely laying out what the law has to say on the subject.
Physical therapist and chronic ankle instability sufferer here. Regarding braces this is the one that I recommend and will use if I am wearing low top shoes playing basketball or soccer. I actually don't like wearing them for disc golf so I choose to wear VivoBare Tracker 2's. Yes they are expensive but they have coupons all over the place. These are a barefoot style shoe (may not be appropriate for you if you haven't worked your way down to a less supportive shoe) but they are high top and lace up really well to give nice support to the ankle. High top hiking boots work well as well. I would avoid low top terrex style shoes with the very firm soles.

I have to disagree slightly with the other poster in that using the brace for a round of disc golf will not weaken the joint at all, in fact it may help to provide some neuromuscular feedback to allow the supporting structures to work more efficiently, but I do have to agree that a proper strengthening program can increase the compensations the muscles can make for the lack of ligamentous stability.
I bought one of these for my car for like $10. Holds like 20 discs plus has small pockets for handwarmers/whale sack/minis/etc.
Not great for carrying around but great for trunk storage.
I put some of this stuff on my shoes where I drag https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9Z37CR/
But as others have said work on your form to drag less too. :D
With a strong chewer there basically aren’t discs that are strong enough to last forever. The kong discs last a while for my pup but he eventually will tare them apart.
I would not recommend the bite if she isn’t good at dropping the disc on command.

I don't understand what you mean as I have never encountered this word in the context of putting.

Our school recently got a few of the Remix portable baskets. The basket separates from the pole/stand. The entire thing is much more stable and catches much more consistently than I would expect from a $100 basket. Source- I've thrown >1000 putts in their general direction.
Axiom Pro HD because Black Hole Pro HD is hard to see at night.
This is the bag you're looking for. I used it the first couple years. Solid bag and you can carry 4 tall boys if you wanted. And the drink pocket is insulated so they stay a little cooler.
I would also suggest a practice basket. Amazon has a good deal on a really good MVP basket.
MVP Black Hole Pro 24-Chain Portable Disc Golf Basket Target https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A7H8E3U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_u2cUFbXDKX3NH
I have had this basket for three years. Multiple color options. I feel as if it is a solid basket for the price. Sturdy. Breaks down to fit in the truck. And it gives a “real feel” when practicing with it.
This is what I started with: https://www.amazon.com/Innova-Disc-Golf-3-Disc-Colors/dp/B000Q838XW/ref=sr_1_2
Innova starter set. It comes with a putter, a mid-range and a fairway driver, definitely enough to get started with, and is $22 on Amazon.
I have the grip clone bag $100 on amazon, and it is not bad at all. Right now grip is having a sale and it looks like B15's are only 154 shipped, so spending the extra $54 might not be a bad idea to get the actual thing from them. The only real difference I see, is the flap has a pocket that can hold a disc, and it comes with a rain fly, but doesn't have the towel clips. I have had mine since March and it seems to hold up well, and can even be loaded down with a decent number of discs. If it fits in your budget, I saw go for the real thing, reputable company with a warranty, and you know it will be well made. There are so many bags out now hope this helps in decision.
I have The Throwback Sack. Holds a bunch of discs and the cooler pocket holds a six pack. Plus lots of space for scorecards, snack bars, minis, etc.
The Salomon Ultra 2's are awesome shoes. They hold up very well for "bigger guys" like me.
Funny you should ask. At my last tournament I won just the bag you're looking for. It is designed to keep a six pack of beer cold and provides lots of storage space whether you drink beer or not. I fell in love with it when I saw the four outside pockets for my putters and midrange.
Here's the pack. It's listed at $120:

Good luck replacing a duffle bag though. You can put enough gear in those to go almost all the way from Normandy to Berlin.
I would assume it is a normal radar gun. I've seen something like this used before at a guys disc stand as a 'guess your speed' game. Amazon link
I'm curious how a baseball swing/pitch speed correlates to disc speed. So if I throw 80 what can I expect my disc speed to be.
Also how much speed is required to get say a 12 speed disc to fly as advertised? 65?
I actually run with a little compact slingshot attached to my bag with a carabiner. Literally got a disc back during my round just today. Highly recommended.
Just fyi, you don't have to get disc golf branded straps to go with this. I found that tool belt harnesses are the exact same set up. I found some on amazon for around 20 bucks that served me well for years until I upgraded to a backpack as well (Lat 64 E3 bag). These straps I am linking to are not the ones I have, but just so you can see an image of non Disc Golf specific straps and see how identical they really are! https://www.amazon.com/Suspenders-suspenders-Adjustable-electrician-Suspension/dp/B01IJBX0D0/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=shoulder+straps+only&qid=1596570705&s=power-hand-tools&sr=1-3

Somewhat improved the user interface. The list is a lot better now, you can filter by game modes. Which means you can actually track and see what your high scores are.
Also in the statistics you can see how well you have been putting today vs a week, year and all time.
Started on a new game, called Flip It. (Thanks to /u/itstallchris) Its in progress, however the main core works. The game is kinda reverse of how the other game modes work. You start further back, and for each put you make you move forward. If you hit all of them in a row, the game ends. Not implemented scoring, and i'm thinking of making the start point dynamic.
Ill do some searching for you. You really don't need a lesson in disc golf, its more of a general sporting mindset problem. I had some stuff like this for volleyball a while back, Ill see what I can dig up.
EDIT: This Might help a bit, nothing crazy but some decent tips that I usually follow.
I was only there on vacation for a weekend, but looking it up on google maps is easy since it's right against the Bay. Here is the address:

As I mentioned below, unfortunately it costs a few bucks to play, but it was fun.
looks like a foot fault to me. and you are correct you need a foot on the ground.
the rule is practically called in the manner that you can simultaneously release and leave the ground. and in general players give the thrower the benefit of the doubt. "tie goes to the thrower" kind of situation.

Searching eBay for 'disc golf ce leopard' returns these results
As you can tell most of those are overpriced by the bidder, so they don't have many biters. The only one that has any bids isn't even really the same disc.
But that's about the price I would say, $30-$50.
edit: It leaves slight ghosting on some discs, but still way better than crossing it out. Submitted it as its own link
Because I hate free time, I made an Airtable database tracking inventory and details for all my discs. I took photos (front and back) for each one and filled in details so I can reference all my discs. I don’t have some manufacturers so there may be some plastics or other details missing, but this is a decent start. I still need to add in a field that shows which box a given disc is in because sometimes I forget where I stored it lol.
If you want to copy this work and add your own stuff, I duplicated my base at this link. Airtable's permissions are weird, but I think this is good for copying a version into your own database: Check out the database
If you want to just see what it looks like with my collection: View my Inventory
Yup, I started playing right before I went to college, about 6 years ago. It was a long transition from thinking what's the point of more than 1 disc, to throwing different types of shots, to having good enough form I can actually entertain the thought of driving 400 ft holes and making 40 ft putts. This is a recent drive, Westside King throw on a hole at Belmont in Dayton.
And use a password manager, so you can have unique passwords for everything, that way it's not a huge deal if one leaks—and it's easy to fix as opposed to having to change passwords for X accounts that use the same password.
Plenty of free/cheap ones out there. KeePassXC and Bitwarden are both free and sensible options.
Patreon or Paypal are the best. Patreon you can donate as little as 10 cents a vid, and put a monthly cap. If you'd prefer paypal, just let me know and I'll pm it to you :)
Thanks!
I was also there - and 'mapped my ~~ride~~ round' (1st round)
See it here - http://www.mapmyride.com/workout/507772187
The course is VERY up and down, and the elev change is not that smooth as portrayed. Also, one can have some very bad luck, as pis can be located close to steep downhills - an easy 6' par shot can turn into 8 strokes if the disc bounces out and rolls down the ravine.
Check out the 3d option (needs google earth plugin - kinda cool)
Anyways, congrats man! - even though you were sandbagging (I Kid!!) and thanks for what you have done for promoting the sport :)
Heres some disc golf flash games to pass the time:
MiniClip - pretty simple little game, you'll get bored with it after one round.
And of course as someone else mentioned theres always youtube videos. Enjoy your new addiction! There is a pretty good support group for newbies here on /r/discgolf.
I understand that it would cost a hefty amount to make your own basket but that could be said about almost any consumer product. Consumer prices are much higher than commercial prices. A ton of steel will run you around $800 and I know that there is a lot of labor and material involved in turning that into a basket but it seems like the prices are higher than the material and labor combined should be. I guess my hope was that with disc golf expanding there would be more production and price reduction...Also This
Most tee signs are vomited up by people who have no idea what they are doing, so it's hard to find good examples. Really it's more a question of do you have a good eye for design or not. If you do, then you'll make good signs. They should be simple, clean, informational. With all the info in a sensible hierarchy (hole number first and largest, then distance, OB notes, sponsors). All in the same font (Helvetia to be safe) though you can get away with using a different font for the hole number if you so please. Keep info on flat background color of high contrast to font color. Colors should be simple and of a good scheme. Here's a simple website for choosing said scheme http://colormind.io/
last step is too big, it's also too straight. If you watch your hips, you stay mostly lateral to throw except for the last step, where your hips turn away from the target. this is where you visibly see your weight shift back onto your back leg early, not allowing you to push off with your back leg, or really rotate on your heel. your last step needs to be forward of the other steps. visualized example would be (* * * ,) you are closer to (* * * * ). ( ) being teebox, and marks * ,, being where your feet should land. This last step is also throwing off what would be better timing. you are finishing your reach back before you are planted. it looks like you have somewhat good arm control, but leaning back means you are skying out a lot of drives, that crash out early.
https://youtu.be/WSCeimc8gdM?t=74 watch paul, and his last step, and austin turner (left throws just after) and you see both of them take a last step forward paul's is very noticeable stepping all the way to the opposing corner of the teepad. You can see instead of leaning back, they are leaning forward, much more athletic stance, much easier to control. your reachback height is pretty ok, yourwrist/shoulder movement is ok, you are opeing yourself up with the step, so once you get that reigned in you will need to make a new video to see what parts actually need tweaking.
edit for those that are lefty impaired, here's his throw as a righty.
For simple cuts, which I assume you will be doing, you can't go wrong with Windows Movie Maker. It's very amateur, but if that's what you are there is nothing wrong with it.
In a pinch, I have used GoPro's Editing Software before. It's not great, but does do what you need. I should note that you do not have to use a GoPro camera to use this software. It recognizes very common file types.
I've heard of Lightworks before and it might be a pretty good option. It looks like a step above the others, although I have never used it personally so I cannot say for sure.
Someone else suggested Adobe Premiere Pro. For only a small monthly fee you get one of the best pieces of software out there. I do this for a living and use it daily.
I hope this helped. Remember, whichever one you go with, there are a plethora of YouTube videos to help get you started.
We don't upload a 30 FPS version, but there might be a way to troubleshoot your issue (if you're a Chrome user, try this link). If that doesn't work, there are extensions like MagicActions which will allow you to force Flash instead of HTML5, which will automatically limit the FPS to 30.
Keep your eyes open on Amazon, the innova mini discatcher goes on sale occasionally for <$60. I'm sure there's an app out there that can alert you when it goes on sale. Not a lot of help I know... I'm not intimately familiar, but, I do work as a software engineer so I've heard about these kinds of systems becoming available. One I would suggest would be https://aws.amazon.com/elastictranscoder/ -- I use AWS for lots of other services and they're generally very straightforward and well priced.
If you have detailed technical questions, "How do I <some technically specific problem>" I would be happy to try and lend a hand. Video editing and transcoding/encoding isn't something I have had a lot of experience with, but I'm pretty handy at this software stuff in general and don't mind giving it a shot.
Then you are perfect for processing ! It's meant for artists not engineers. If you download the app it comes with a ton of examples you can tweak. Most of the API is fairly human readable. Here's the section on bezier curves - https://processing.org/tutorials/curves/
