No delay is great. And i don't think in the future there will be a scaling issue. Its working great right now, Why make something worse.
I don't think there is a cap. I stream at 3500
The English scene is growing. Right now its a tightly nit community that support each other.
The best bot to use is Meowbot. @theertzel is the man behind it all.. He is streaming right now http://www.hitbox.tv/ertzel
I am in a team which is partnered. Obviously Hitbox, like twitch will take half and then whatever your team has in a contract for you.
Hitbox is really working on North American scene right now :)
The Chroma key can be used in OBS.
I use subalert It works great for everything.
App is getting better. Notifications are hit and miss. They work for me but not for other people I know.
Not sure but there was a big partnership with Freedom from Youtube recently.
The Hitbox Fav program which lets the community vote for there up and coming streamer. Also depending what region you are in you may get feature. Also since the user base is smaller than twitch its easier to find smaller streamers.
Game database is always updated. I believe Hitbox get the database from somewhere but I forgot the name.
The community, The Service and also the no delay are much better than twitch. These three keep be streaming here daily.
I hope I could help you a little bit. Sorry for grammar and spelling mistakes
See this issue on Github:

The solution is apparently fixed in the latest development version, but not yet in the latest release. You can either install the development version or you can do what the author suggested in his response:
livestreamer "hlsvariant://http://www.hitbox.tv/api/player/hlsvod/<vodnumber>.m3u8" best
Replace <vodnumber>
with the number from the URL.
No it uses javascript to load the rest but what you can do is (on the last video of the page) right click on the arrow next to edit button -> Inspect Element.
Chrome Dev Tools should pop up, a few lines after the highlighted line should be
<button class="showMore ng-hide" ng-hide="mediaCount<=limit || !media.video" ng-click="nextPage()">Show more</button>
Removing ng-hide from class="" will show the button. Obviously won't stay after a refresh, but if you need to edit a video or something, it'll work.
Edit: I made a script that removes the ng-hide flag. Sure, it'll show the button all the time, but it's better then it being hidden. https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/7616-hitbox-show-show-more-button/code - You need to refresh the video manager page once you land on it. It's how Angular handles going to different pages.
There is!! Emm3 (my wife) and I stream together and set up with 2 mics! Lets just say that the figuring it out part was rough! LOL
https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/directshow-audio-source-plugin.32/
That is what i use. you will pull your hair out trying to make sure you dont Echo. but you can do it! We do it every-week. i wish they would support it out of the box though...
I'm using restream.io
You stream to their servers and they in-turn send that traffic to the ingest servers of the sites you want to stream to. That way you don't need to stream to each site individually with OBS/Xsplit and butcher your bandwidth.
To make the switch easier and to allow your current viewer base to transition with you i would suggest using https://restream.io/ to stream to both twitch and hitbox and just let your twitch viewers know you're more into hitbox. This way they can still watch on twitch and not just think you vanished.
I personally don't know anything about the hitbox-android app because I use IRC. As for plugins, check the forums.
You don't have to capture video, you can use the plugin for OBS below. You can control the loop, sound volume and position. Very fun and useful tool.
edit: I am working on a short guide to get people started. I'll post it when I'm finished
Well, this weekend I'll be getting drunk and playing old and generally abandoned HL1/GoldSRC engine mods. The revelry will start at 10pm PST Saturday night (other timezones) and go to whenever people are tired. The start time is mostly for the drinking and HL mod portion of the stream, other friends will be streaming beforehand so feel free to tune in and get ready early or pregame your liquor, etc.
Mods:
Wizard Wars
Science and Industry (actually alive)
Vampire Slayer
Hope you guys join us. I've rented a dedicated server so we can have up to 32 players, should be space and fun for everyone who wants in.
/u/htbxXaly one question i have is whether we streamers who partner via this new partnership have to fear having to carry the costs of refunds of Subs.
the link to see whether ones PayPal account is verified is quite misleading. it links you to the PayPal Homepage. instead it should be https://www.paypal.com/verified/[email protected]
I know that one issue was caused because of keyframe interval. Setting it to 2 definitely fixed my only Hitbox issue which was a black screen showing sometimes when streaming. > Only the broadcaster (Editors?) can toggle the button, but moderators can look at it.
From what I see, it allows Editors to also toggle this option.
> It also looks like most, if not all, sub buttons have the option of getting a EUR/USD 4.99 gift card on G2A.
From what it looks like all sub buttons now have the option to give out a G2A gift card to any new subscribers. When you subscribe to a channel now you have the option to accept the gift card with their terms or to uncheck it and not take one. So you could essentially get a month for free since you pay $4.99 and get something worth $4.99 back in return if there is anything from G2A you want, but the channel still gets the full subscription payment.
Or if you want an in game overlay (as in you can see and respond to hitbox chat while in game) then you can use ubiquitous 2, with the steam overlay. I believe that works.

OBS for Mac currently requires a second program to help it capture desktop audio. Download and install WavTap from https://github.com/pje/wavtap . Launch OBS, go to Settings > Audio, and select WavTap as your Desktop Audio device. A more detailed guide is available at https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/setting-up-mac-desktop-sound-capture-with-wavtap.79/
How about if obs implanted AMD VCE (I know there's a fork/branch version of it https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-fork-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996/ but it's still too buggy keeps force closing allot) because I can stream BF4 with 1080p/60fps via the AMD Raptr app without FPS loss but it only support Twitch sadly but my stream gets allot of pixelation and occasionally black screens and buffering.
Wow, I haven't heard that one yet. Could you post a log file, I'd love to see what's going on with yours.
I've seen only performance gains so far. Not much really, 3-5% but the new features and tweaks are great TBH. I hate that you aren't able to utilize those.( they even have a stable version of 64bit CLR Browser Plugin and wow is that gonna make things smoother. No more 32 bit. I'd love to help you trouble shoot this if you'd like.
Maybe I can scan your log and see if my geek eyes see anything off the beaten path. You can post it here or PM me with it. Thanks bro.
If you are using USB headset+mic I noticed on OBS this does make me somewhat louder then usual. To offset this I usually have my mic around level 85-90. Also setting up audio is a difficult and grueling task sometimes, especially if you stream multiple games.
What works for me:
I use the slider on the OBS dashboard and always lower that to 50 or 60, so no matter how loud my in game audio or music is, it will never be heard above 50%, if you will.
I leave all the volumes equal to my master audio level through the Volume Mixer in windows and only adjust in game volume to get as close to 50% ( or your preferred level) as possible. Adjusting the volume sliders is a pain. Doing it in game is easier.
Now that everything is set to 50% or roughly that. When I open my music all I have to do is lower my in game sound slightly lower then music or vice-versa. So music is at 50 but In game sound is 30 or 40.
This works for me but there are many ways to do it. Also, if you want to spend the $13 you can get an Auto-Ducking software to adjust all that for you. Link is below.
Good luck!
We have vastly different interpretations of "pretty new".
Beam.pro is "pretty new" It's exactly one year old and is already a competitive force with hitbox - and unlike hitbox - its viewership is increasing while hitbox has shed half of its userbase in the last six months.
https://www.similarweb.com/website/beam.pro?competitors=hitbox.tv
I've supported hitbox since launch - but the platform is dying - if you want to grow as a streamer - don't solo hitbox, it would be against your best interests.
I have created a chrome extension and userscript where people can freely send in their own emotes. It does already come with just about all twitch sub emotes built in. Check the extension out here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hitbox-emotes/afnmabaohnpejlfefcllmiahdgkclckf
And the userscript here: https://greasyfork.org/scripts/484-hitbox-emotes
Hope this helps!

If you don't mind an internal capture card, I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/Avertv-Definition-Analog-Capture-MTVHDDVRR/dp/B002SQE1O0/ it comes with a dongle that allows almost any older console to be hooked up to it.
For the PS2 / Gamecube, for cheapness you could use possibly a cheap USB TV catprue card?
I would assume it comes with its own preview windows that you can then capture via OBS / Xsplit.
Whenever I use a USB mic on my PC, it buzzes so I'm forced to use 3.5mm and haven't heard any complaints. I use a Behringer Xenyx 302 mixer.
If you want to use USB with your mixer instead, you can get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI/
Yeah, just had to get home to get the model number: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-502-XENYX502-5-Channel-Mixer/dp/B000J5UEGQ
I use Shure SM-58 Mics simply because they are pretty much bomb-proof and do a great job of canceling out background noise.
I've never been a fan of USB mics.
But I have both my mics and my computer audio coming into this so that I can level out everything and then run it back into recording PC as a single stream.
Being able to hear yourself while you stream without the software delay of using a separate mic line is, what I consider, a must-have.
I use this - Logitech HD Webcam C270, 720p and the image is pretty clear, for the $25 I spent. Just keep in mind to give yourself some good lighting if you plan to use a cam.
