Leaked on German Amazon. It's getting a vinyl release from Hopeless Records. https://www.amazon.de/Burst-Decay-Opaque-Purple-Vinyl/dp/B073GKT56Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501156694&sr=8-1&keywords=the+wonder+years+burst
He's pretty active on his Instagram. I met him briefly at a couple shows, both a few years ago and more recently, and he was nice, but judging by what others say, I feel like he just doesn't care to be too open about his personal life. Dude just likes to keep to himself. Plenty of people in bands are big personalities on stage, but are quieter off of it.
Also, I do not think the same person has inspired most of TSSF's lyrics, from what I've heard from some people who know him. Either way, I don't think it's our place to speculate about the dude's personal life over the internet.
I just got a pair called Eargasm. Used them back to back shows Friday and then Saturday and I 100% recommend. They come in two sizes in each set and they have a case. They ran me $35 but they’re worth it. They filter the sound instead of muffling it like traditional foam plugs. Here’s the amazon link. They’re really comfortable too. Not even gonna lie I caught myself trying to find the wire for my blue tooth earbuds because they are that comfortable lol
I did not know that Vitamin String did Blink 182. Looks like it came out one month ago. I just bought the songs because I love Vitamin String Quartet. And for all you deviants I put it on deposit files.
Invest in some decent earplugs:
Downbeats (my personal preference)
Etymonics (consensus #1 earplug)
Just search around Amazon or any other shops, so you never have to worry about it. Even if you're not going to a ton of shows, always bring them and wear them. Getting some decent ones kind of makes you accountable. At the least get the squishy foam ones.
I recommend two books for getting out of this mindset:
"No More Mr. Nice Guy"Amazon Link
"The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck" Amazon Link
My TLDR is that we romanticize way too hard because this honeymoon type of living is literally a drug. We were trained to go to extremes like in Romeo and Juliet. We need to chill out and let things come to us. Work on your life and love yourself, letting someone in rather than chasing after someone.
After a whole lot of digging I found streams of the two bonus tracks for anyone interested:
The higher pitched vocalist (Matt Wilson) is doing a kickstarter for his new record label, Calaveras Records. The label's first pressing is going to be a 10 year anniversary pressing of their Reset EP, and he said all profits from the sales of the first record are going back into SYG, and not his label. They're still around. I'm hoping they get announced for Warped as their big comeback.
Try Music Roamer. Start with an artist you like then select another artist to find more similar artists. I've found some fun bands that flew under my radar this way. You probably won't find super underground bands this way, though.
Poorly written wiki about it, but this is all I can find considering it is now 10 years after the fact.
I have no band suggestions from that info but it looks like in the privacy settings on Spotify's website there is an option to download the data they have on you which includes the last year of streaming. Depending on how much you use it that could be so much data but it could be an option if you have the time. Might narrow it down from everything ever to only thousands of songs.
"We live our lives afraid of the mistakes we've made. Were afraid of the people we might become. Were afraid of our failures and so we've become content with our mediocrity. We make excuses about the places we came from and the things we cant change. We've settled for good. We've stopped fighting for great. People say the Greatest Generation grew up during the Great Depression and fought in WWII. They say they were selfless and determined. They say they shaped who we are now. They're right. But it begs the question: Why not us? Why arn't we reaching for the same? Why cant we be The Greatest Generation? Your depression, your anxiety, your pain, your disillusion with the world; its time to put it all aside. We're sick of settling for good. We're sick of calling someone else the greatest. Its our turn to shape the world. This is our chance to push through the challenges and the setbacks and define ourselves. I want to be remembered for more than this. I think we all do."
That is written on the inside cover of "The Greatest Generation". In all honesty, I can sort of agree with you saying they were lazy lyrically in the Upsides and Suburbia, but you really cannot make that claim for The Greatest Generation. You can tell a good amount a research went into the album to be able to make all of the allusions that they make to WWII and The Greatest Generation of the US. I challenge you to listen to that album and really read the lyrics. Let it sink in. I really feel like your opinion could change afterwards.
I linked to the pop punk map, but here is the genre map. On the genre map you can search for a band to see what genres a band is considered in. and click on it to see bands in that genre. If you click scan you can hear short samples from bands in the genre, and list to see a spotify playlist.
> am a big Jimmy eat world fan but I didn't realize that static prevails was on a major. They basically got signed based on speculation from their self-titled which most people have never heard. - Really shocking to hear about Thursday and hiw they owe the label (or at least did).
Have you read Nothing Feels Good?
Much more centered around emo and early mall emo craze of the late 90s/early 00s. Talks a bit about Jimmy Eat World and their rise.
I use Loops and can recommend them! I don't know if other ear plugs are similar, but you pop these in and twist so the circle 'loop' slips under and fold of your ear, which means they stay in really effectively.
I tend to get involved with the crowd, lots of jumping and moving etc and these haven't fallen out once.

Because everybody expected a quality follow up to 'So Wrong It's Right'. I bought it on day 1. Selling copies is a terrible way to judge the subjective quality of a band or album, poppunkers, of all people, should be cognizant of that.

While Metacritic doesn't have So Wrong It's Right in its database, a quick survey of the usual music review sites show that it was receiving 4/5s or80-85/100s most commonly. They fell off.
You told me but you have no proof. The album liner is actual hard proof. Allmusic says Andy Mrotek as well. http://www.allmusic.com/album/almost-here-mw0000259916/credits Get this dude to film a testimony or something. Until then I just flat out don't believe you.
If you want to do a collab, i was thinking of a design for Chunk! No, Captain Chunk's new album "Got Lost And Found Myself Doing Mich Better". I have this small redwood slab that was my dad's. I want to carve and burn your design onto the wood. If it turns out rad we could sell and split profit?
I second Merch Limited. Here's their instagram. They have several pictures of sweaters.
Fyi TSSF's is being released this morning at 9:00am PT so if you want to buy one today would be the day
Purevolume was at least well known enough to have a collab with Drive-Thru Records:

I was also curious about this, so I used everynoise... It seems like a very specific type of pop-punk, but I can't put my finger on what makes it distinctive...

I can only wish I was living in Glasgow then, never had the chance to see FOB..
They had a survey here (Not sure if it is still going though) asking about where to go and which bands, so I guess you could always try and help bring it here.
I just got a pair of Presonus Eris e3.5 studio monitors as I was previously doing my mixing via headphones with is less than ideal.
They sound great and have solid bass response despite their compact size. Should do well if you’re looking for standalone speakers to connect to a laptop, phone, etc. There’s also a Bluetooth enabled model for a few bucks more.

I have the Alesis Command Mesh but this is one step down. It also depends on what you define as breaking the bank.
I purchased the Command Mesh for $750 on Amazon but spread the payments out over 5 Months so it was $150 a month which was manageable for me. Below is a link to a cover I did so you can hear what the drums sound like just through the brain, I don't have anything running on the back end of the computer.
Just search for FEND in the app store. Here's a link to the app in the google store!

Joyo pedals make a really decent mesa clone pedal that's dirt cheap. It can help give you that nice tone on a budget. When I play punk or pop punk I run that pedal with a TS-9 and my rig rips. You'll probably want a noise clamp too as the high gain causes a lot of white noise. https://www.amazon.com/JF-15-California-Effects-Ultra-High-Simulator/dp/B005M0MUQK
Hello, We Are the Militia Group from 2004 and the Run For Cover 2010 Sampler were two comp CD's I played all the time in my car. I can pinpoint some exact moments of my life driving around to those songs.
I personally have a Denon DP-300F. I've had it for almost three years and it works great. Though I did have to adjust the motor since it played a bit fast out of the box. I've also heard good things about U-Turn and Audio Technica.
Unfortunately, record players are one of those things where you get what you pay for. You can't really cheap out on them unless you find an older used one. Please don't be tempted by the lower prices of Crosely and the like, they will damage your records after a few plays.
I've been using the Joyo Ultimate Drive for a while and really like it. It's a clone of the Fulltone OCD, and a pretty close one at that. I originally just picked it up because I heard good things and it was thirty bucks, but damn, I have to admit that ethics and stuff aside, this thing is actually really good, as are the other Joyo pedals I've tried. Didn't expect it to become my main overdrive/distortion.
For lighter drive, I also have a TS9 Tube Screamer, which is also pretty nice. For reference, I play a Gibson '50s Tribute Les Paul with P90s, and a Schecter C-1 with a Duncan JB in the bridge. Running everything into an Orange Micro Terror with a Marshall MG 4x10 cab, though I've been looking into the new 2x10 Jazz Chorus that Roland put out.
I don't know your budget, but if you can afford it, the Audio-Technica AT-LP120 has lasted me quite a while and I have had zero issues. Great reviews, and the cartridge it comes with is good quality.
Hey guys. Just a heads up I sent an email to the Andrew McMahon store and asked about the Amazon listing and if they would be selling the vinyl separately and not in a bundle. Here's the response
"Right now, the Vinyl is only being sold in the bundle. The Amazon listing is only the Black Vinyl. Ours is the dark blue. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful day!"
So there is a wider release of this coming out on black vinyl. Just so you guys are aware!
Here's that link on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Transit-10th-Anniversary-2LP/dp/B014UKF6IQ/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1441312994&sr=8-15&keywords=jack%27s+mannequin
Since you say you're not a dude: They make a lot of things like this.
I don't drink at shows and I've never owned or used one. I honestly only know they exist because of Spencer's. So you might want to look at user reviews before investing in one.
I think my favorite that I've come across is the Fulltone OCD, and of course the Tube Screamer, though that's usually better for boosting an already-dirty signal, if you're looking for a nice crunch. Those two are pretty standard in this kind of music.
I'd also really recommend checking out Joyo pedals - they're a Chinese company that makes clones of American pedals, but at a fraction of the cost. I've got their Ultimate Drive pedal - it's a clone of the OCD, and it's ABSURDLY cheap. Sounds great, even in shootout videos with the OCD on YouTube. Overall, Joyo's pedals are great for testing the waters with certain effects before you shell out cash for high-end stuff, and in some cases, they're just as good.
