Let me tell you a brief tale of an orc. Not just any orc: a most terrifying and disgusting orc.
A brother in arms fell earlier that day, and I had been tasked to take out the bastard that killed him. Thinking nothing of this orc, other than his silly name, I continued on the quest with reckless abandon.
I found my target quickly, after passing a few other deadly looking captains. A stench hung in the air like a thousand dead Uruks and piles of Caragor feces. Hastily I drew an arrow, and shot at him once.
It bounced off his skin harmlessly. I immediately pulled another arrow, but decided that would be too foolish to shoot again.
Instead, I charged in for glory, and was met with the most terrifying soul eating stare I've ever faced.
It was Pugrish the Filthy.
He was covered in, what I would assume was, his own dung. I will never forget that stare, that growl, that smell...
Smaller in stature, he was, but nonetheless battle ready. This one had seen it all. He dispatched me within a blink of an eye. The poison sword he wielded was far too powerful, and in the end, I could hear him cheer through the sputtering of my own blood.
I'm coming for you Pugrish. Your stench will not continue to plague these lands.
I'd argue that the context for the microtransaction market is important. The reason we're seeing a lot of AAA titles attempt microtransactions is because they saw that they were successful in titles like mobile games. Thing is, a lot of mobile games that use this system do so while either making the game free to play or a very small amount to purchase (around 2$ or so). A lot of this money directly goes into keeping the game afloat and improving on it.
A 60$ title does not really need the increased gain from microtransactions in order to survive. Especially if the game in question is from a well-respected series. It could be argued that maaaybe some of the microtransaction money could be going into future DLC releases, but seeing as the game already has season passes and day 1 DLC I doubt this is the case. A lot of reviews on Steam have also pointed out that there's a number of bugs and issues with the game.
Of course another issue is that the publisher in question is WB. WB knowingly and willingly allowed a port of Batman: Arkham Knight onto Steam that was actually unplayable (with framerates of 14 FPS) and only took it down after a massive fan outcry. source. They also prioritized selling more DLC over <em>fixing the game</em> so i don't have much faith in their intentions for Shadow of War. If the microtransactions aren't monetarily necessary and only serve as an obstacle to improving the 'game' portion of...your game, then they shouldn't really have a reason to be there.

Kotaku hit the nail right on the head about the loot boxes, excluding shadow wars since Ive still got long ways to go till I get to it, my experiences have been in line with this article.
I recommend VPN gate. It's completely free and using VPNs hosted in universities, libraries, volunteer computers, that kind of staff. It started as an experiment dedicated to destroy all Internet restrictions and very user-friendly. Asian pool is especially large (it started from Japan).
I've posted this before, so sorry if you've read it- just wanted to pass info along.
Here's something for PC users.
If you open the game with CheatEngine, you can use the Speedhack function to speed up all the non-syncing parts of the procedure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEDPgrz1Gl8
You can also automate opening boxes, destroying orcs/equipment things by using a program like AutoHotkey to create scripts to do the button presses for you.
https://autohotkey.com/docs/Tutorial.htm#s12
For example, a script for opening loot boxes needs to hold the "2" key, but also needs to wiggle the mouse occasionally to reset the button prompts. So here's my "Hold 2, and use F6 to enable mouse wiggle" script to use in Autohotkey.
Loop { Send, {2 Down} Sleep 2000 Send, {2 Up} sleep 100 } return
^space::Pause
toggle:=0 direction:=0
F6:: If toggle:=!toggle SetTimer, MM, 3000 else SetTimer, MM, Off return
MM: If direction := !direction MouseMove, 0, 200,, R else MouseMove, 0, -200,, R return
and here's a simpler "hold 3" script for item destruction.
Loop { Send, {3 Down} Sleep 3000 Send, {3 Up} sleep 100 } return
^space::Pause
Notice that every second is split into 1000 units in autohotkey, so times of 2000 is 2 seconds, and times of 100 is a tenth of a second.
Anyway, you can set these up to make this process easier (and faster with the speedhack). Just be careful that you don't let the program delete stuff you actually want.

I just got a random pre-load and I already had preloaded the game before. Im using CactusVPN I will update in 5 min
Edit: Nope RIP :( I think you could play it if you got it on microsoft store but doesnt seem to be working on steam
The Binding of Isaac. Personally, I've never played it but lots of people say it's pretty good.
If you find yourself to enjoy roguelikes, I highly recommend Rogue Legacy. It's more of a roguelite as it isn't quite a roguelike, but it's similar enough and honestly one of my favorite games. The Steam page and ads for this game don't quite do it justice.
Gonna go old school here, but there's a great write up on GameFaqs that I found to be useful as well: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps4/739521-middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor/faqs/70273
Long story short, you want them to be a level 20, a warchief (+2), have an active death threat (+1), be a revenge target (+1), utilize their weaknesses (+1), and expose one of their hates or fears (+1 for either). That's level 20+2+1+1+1+1 for a level 25+ drop. And it's not by chance, so you will get a level 25 rune this way (if you meet the requirements). It's also best if you let someone else kill them, as if you bring the finishing blow there's a chance they will drop an epic rune (unless you have all of them).
You can get level 26 runes (I have one or two), but they are no different from level 25.

I sure hope everyone is using Time Machine or some Windows equivalent to keep backups. It would reduce a lot of the pain in situations like this and many others.
It's because the game uses a thing called "mouse acceleration." I agree, it's awful.
Some games have it, notably Valve games, but every game I've seen with mouse acceleration there is always an option to turn it off... except this one.
It is painful, but trust me you'll get used to it. Every once in awhile after a long break it might take a few minutes to re-get used to it, but you'll get it eventually.
And here's to hoping we can turn it off in SoW
UPDATE:
"Guys,
I've been extremely busy with work stuff recently, basically living and breathing work.. add on top of this one of my SSD's dying (Raid 0, yay) my PC's basically been off, waiting for a replacement SSD to come, which is now and in and I'm back up and going again.
Re: Website.
Website is down due to the widespread drupal exploit, which basically all sites started getting hit literally within hours of its announcement... site was patched on the 17th and after an audit of the logs it appears evident that their exploit attempt failed to do anything nefarious, the fact that the write permissions on the files were locked down, eg. apache couldn't write to those files means they didn't succeed in planting anything malicious... further exploits obviously failed because it was patched, however things like database interaction are not easily audited.
I'd hazard a guess there's tens of thousands or more drupal based sites out there with backdoors now installed [lying dormant] and erring on the side of extreme caution I've decided to drop the site, rebuild it with static content and drop drupal entirely, that is why the site is currently down... and basically my recommendation would be that if you interact with ANY drupal based website tread with caution going forward unless you know they've been secured.
You can read about it here: https://www.drupal.org/drupalsa05FAQ
It will be back up shortly now that I have some time available."

Good to know it hasn't been abandoned for good.
Go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/
You'll see all your license acquisitions. Find Shadow of Mordor, and there should be a refund button next to it. Assuming you bought it from the Steam store, and not as a gift, etc, that is.
Don't buy it for $30. You can get a code for the digital version of the Game of the Year edition that includes all DLC from Amazon for $20.
I bought the game a week ago, and I absolutely love it. I haven't played the batman games, but I've heard people compare them to this.
SSD or NVME is way to go if you have budget.
https://slickdeals.net/deals/ssd/?src=SearchBarV2_cat
Otherwise, have you defragged your HD lately?
What are you system specs?
I've tried it numerous times and so far have only got one epic rune.
Also, patch 1.05 says they removed the glitch. Discussion here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/739521-middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor/70853977
When's the last time you duped an epic rune, and do you have the latest patch?
Oh look, it's another experienced previous gen and current gen console coder.
What possible reason could they have for lying about their tech? Why would they intentionally dumb it down for older consoles? Pissing off PS3 and Xbox 360 owners is just leaving money on the table. There would have to be a very good reason for them to gut the single most innovative feature of this game.
The guys talking about this to the press are not marketroids. This Gamespot interview quotes a design director on the game. It also quotes CD Projekt Red's CEO about why Witcher 3 won't be on Xbox 360 and PS3: technical compromises. Is CD Projekt Red really just being lazy too?
playstation prob payed monlith 5 kagillion dollars cause there only showing it on ps4 for now and there are exclusives for ps4. im getting it on pc i remember hearing in a video demo that the pc version is fully optimized and everything its not going to be a dark souls.
somewhere in this demo http://www.gamespot.com/videos/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-now-playing/2300-6421195/ the guy says stuff about the pc version this demo is really good so its well worth the hour.
My nemesis Skoth Headhunter. He looks so awesome now and he even kept his voice. the only thing that changed is now he is enraged by injury and his name is man-hunter instead of head-hunter.

I get it in today so if you comment back later tonight or PM me I can tell you with 100% certainty whether it works or not. But you are correct, I looked up the version of Bluetooth for the DS4 and the wiki says 2.1.
So I got this one, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HQE4MRU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_XTwiub028HZFT
It's 4.0 which is backwards compatible, cheap, and as long as you don't drop it, it should be good.
This is your best bet right here ---> Can I Run This?
You can either put in your computer specs yourself, or you can download some easy free software that will help ya detect your specs without having to worry about if you put something in right. Just scroll down on the list and select the game that you're wanting to check on, in your case, Shadows of Mordor. Other people can say what they will about if your computer is efficient enough, but your laptop will let ya know best.
Edit: Words.
1) after I beat the game, I just ran around looking for the most ridiculous uruks I could find and made them warcheifs. Right now I'm working on a group of traveling performers in Udûn (I've got a singer, a rhymer, and a poet so far), and in Núrn all of my warcheifs have a distinctly Aztec feel to them.
2) I've heard that the dlc is somewhat disappointing though, especially because it's completely separate from the main game and doesn't really offer much more play time. However, I just got the Lord of the Hunt, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
3) the One with Nature epic rune will counter poison. I think you can get it for free with two other epic runes and a new skin in the xbox marketplace, last I checked. And the way that I have gotten level 25 runes is based on this
Buy from GMG. It's discounted, also.
Got my steam key instantly.
Well, if you check cdkeyprices.com you can probably find it a bit cheaper, but you can't go wrong with GMG. I got my key on Friday, with plenty of time to preload.
As for the DLC, if there's a Season Pass (or equivalent) GMG will probably sell it. They don't always sell the individual DLC though. For example, they have the individual DLC for Fallout 4, but only the Season Pass for Shadow of Mordor. Either way, you'll be able to get the DLC on Steam if they don't have it.
It's always a bit of a gamble buying "deluxe" versions...I tend to regret it. In most cases, buying the base game + season pass separately (and at full price) will set you back about $10-$20 more than a "full package" edition. I usually go for the standard edition at the best discount I can find, then get the DLC/Season Pass at a later date, preferably at a discount as well.
By the way, if you do decide to go with the standard edition, I'd recommend getting it from GMG. 25% base + 15% voucher = 40% total discount. Not bad for a game that hasn't even been released yet.
Those bluescreen errors should be creating a log file in (C:\Windows\minidump). There's software out there that will analyze these logs and tell you what caused it. http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed
Like I said use Blue Screen View to look at them and then google what it tells you. It will look at all of the dump files you have so no need to wait for a new one.
You can first check in the event logs:
start - eventvwr (press enter)
Go to windows logs, application and see whats in there. Maybe check system too.
When the PC crashes it takes a dump (srsly) to help highlight what caused it located here:
C:\Windows\Minidump
Open the dmp files with: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
There are other free programs you can open them with too.
That should help highlight what's causing the issue. As always make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your gcard, direct x etc. Plus remember to verify the integrity of the game just to be sure.
Hope that helps somewhat!
Best bet is to contact steam support and give them the website, the faulty key, and image of your transaction details that you would have got in your email and see what goes on from there.
Overall the seller website does not look like an authorized PC game seller.
I have no playstation, but you can always check Amazon. There's a lot of information about the games/editions and people asking questions like this. It's like a FAQ :) https://www.amazon.com/Middle-Earth-Shadow-Mordor-Game-PlayStation/dp/B00WOK8YX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467810690&sr=8-1&keywords=shadow+of+mordor+game+of+the+year
1st question is: is the DLC on the disc? answer: yes it is.
Oh thanks for telling me now, I wanted to start a new game becouse I discovered that I can import orcs from SOM, so I felt bad leaving all my orc without giving them... Freedome Then I started a new game and JUST THEN i discovered That I can put orc in the garrison so I can use them later... God I had a rough couple of days.
Not really any downsides that I can think of, but I have only been using one for about a year now. Risks come from what you do with it. Some people say you shouldn't use it on public wifi. Certain websites do not tolerate vpns being used such as Netflix. Main thing is to find one that does not keep any logs of the data you transfer through it. That way no payment information or other sensitive data is saved on the vpn's end. I use IPVanish which has worked out pretty well for me so far.
Yeah, I got this shirt from amazon and I am very pleased with it. It is from china though, so buy one size bigger.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UZH32SA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Depending on what system you're on, Ryse is on sale for just shy of $20 right now on Amazon! And, truth be told, I actually enjoyed the combat in this one a lot.
Plus, Witcher 3 and Devil May Cry - while not perfect examples - are worth mentioning.
Glad you enjoyed your time in Mordor!
